Lately, it seems all automotive news is circling around the 2020 Kia Telluride, and who could blame it? The 2020 Kia Telluride is not only the largest SUV in the Kia Motors lineup, but it’s also won many awards since its release. By the end of 2019, the Kia Telluride won the “Triple Crown” of Automotive Awards, named the 2020 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year from North American Car of the Year (NACTOY); MotorTrend SUV of the Year; and on a Car and Driver 10 Best list. Recently, it won, the MAMA “Family Vehicle of the Year” award. With all this news, some may have forgotten the hybrid crossover that surprised millions when it came out – yeah, it started the Kia Niro lineup (gas, hybrid, and electric). MotorWeek hasn’t forgotten though, because the Kia Niro and the Kia Telluride won during the 2019 MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Awards.
The 2020 Chicago Auto Show came and went over a single weekend, with reporters and the press getting behind closed doors earlier on in the week. Although a single weekend isn’t a lot of time, it was a great chance for many automakers to show off their latest concepts and updated vehicles. Kia Motors was there to show off the new 2020 Kia Cadenza, and boy does it look amazing. During the 2020 Chicago Auto Show MotorWeek was also there to run its awards show, and the Kia Niro won in the “Best Eco-Friendly” category and Kia Telluride won out in the “Best Large Utility” category. Large Utility vehicle? Well, it is getting an off-road trim soon – an off-road Kia Telluride SUV, how nuts is that? Watch out, Jeep®.
