Kia Motors has been doing really well as of late, revealing all kinds of new vehicles being added to the lineup in the coming years. The very cool all-electric EV6 is looking to be a high-tech automobile, and the high-class luxury sports sedan K8 could set a new standard for Kia Motors interior quality. The automaker recently restyled the Kia Optima for the next generation of the vehicle, turning it into a vicious sports car in the same family of the Kia Stinger. To celebrate, Kia renamed the Optima with the same moniker in South Korea, K5. Kia Motors then did the same when replacing the Kia Sedona, with a newly designed Kia Carnival MPV. Powertrain
Keeping it simple, this new minivan/multi-purpose vehicle comes with four trims, all powered by the same powertrain. Under the hood of each vehicle is a 3.5-liter V6 engine optimized with gasoline direct injection (GDI), capable of generating a best-in-class 290 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard for each trim. It responds well and has just enough punch to say “That’s not a minivan”.
Family Features
Able to seat eight passengers, the 2022 Kia Carnival MPV comes with an interesting second row. Each seat is its own distinct seat, making up three seats versus a split-row bench. Designed with a Slide-Flex seating system, the center slides forward and back, and the seats on either end can slide side-to-side. Reaching a child in the rear is easy, and for older children, the middle seat folds up for a cupholder and somewhere to rest their phone versus their pocket.
