Kia Motors The Great Unknowns Scholarship Opens Second Year of Enrollment


For the past few years, Kia Motors has taken a large initiative to give back to the community and made sure we all knew it during the Super Bowl. Unlike many automakers that will likely overpay a celebrity to star in their commercial, driving a vehicle, and talking about how much they like driving it to sell it, Kia Motors takes this time to raise awareness about programs the automaker founded to help the youth. During the 2019 Super Bowl, Kia Motors debuted its “Yards Against Homelessness” Initiative, where the automaker claimed to donate $1,000 for every yard gained during the football game to charity partners Covenant House, Positive Tomorrows, and StandUp For Kids. A year ago, Kia Motors started a scholarship program, the Great Unknown, focused on giving youths a chance to further their education. 2020 marks the second year the scholarship is running, with enrollment now open.

Following the new slogan “Give It Everything”, The Great Unknowns Scholarship program that really give it their all. Recipients of the scholarship will be chosen based on a number of factors, including not only their academic performance, but can also demonstrate how they make a positive impact within their local communities. Kind of a lot to ask, not every high schooler can handle much aside from their studies and maybe an after-school job, but that’s why this scholarship is aimed at students who “Give It Everything” they got.
