Kia Motors has been kicking butt recently, and with the 2018 model year well underway, we’re looking forward to some of their new vehicles fast approaching. Kia Stinger, we’re looking at you! Until then though, there are plenty of great vehicles to choose from. Possibly their largest lineup would be Kia crossovers, SUVs, and minivans. Give them a look.
Although it feels like more of a compact car, the Kia Soul is a crossover by Kia Motors standards. Available in three trims, the Kia Soul (base), Kia Soul Plus (+), and Kia Soul Exclaim (!), it’s tough to not get a great vehicle. Each is powered by a different engine, ranging from 130-201 horsepower, and each engine is paired to a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, or 7-speed dual clutch transmission. With standard features, the fuel economy of the Kia Soul is 24/30 city/highway mpg.
It goes without saying the Kia Soul has style, but without looking closer, consumers may not know that a panoramic sunroof with a sunshade is available, and that privacy glass and solar glass come standard. Inside, the Kia Soul + and Kia Soul ! come with UVO eServices on a 7-inch touchscreen, but can be updated to an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation; the base trim can also be upgraded with a 7-inch touchscreen and UVO eServices. All vehicles have Bluetooth wireless technology and steering wheel mounted audio controls. Many other features are left as an option for the Soul + and Soul !, such as heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, automatic temperature control, and various advanced safety features. MSRP starting at $16,100.
Breaking a record in the Guinness Book of World Records used to be a huge thing back in the day. Kinda like setting the new high score on old arcade games, it was always a source of pride for those who achieved them. Today, it might seem like getting in the Guinness Book for a record is a thing of the past, but that doesn’t mean people or companies have stopped trying. Take the Kia Niro for instance – it just set earned the Guinness World Record title for the lowest fuel consumption driving across the U.S. from coast to coast in a hybrid car.
The Niro crossover will be Kia’s first dedicated hybrid automobile, and although they have yet to be released, drivers and Kia fans will be pleased to know that the fancy CUV shown off at SEMA has a hybrid version with as much bark as bite. With an EPA-estimated 50 mpg combined, that’s enough to set it apart from other hybrids in its class. In fact, to make things official, Kia got together with Guinness and created a new record category just for this – a sort of “come at me bro” from Kia to the rest of the auto industry.
Brimming with the abilities of a sport utility vehicle (SUV) whilst also featuring the mobility and handling characteristics of a hatchback for makes crossovers a highly sought after models. Since CUVs have become so popular, many manufacturers have been getting in the CUV game, and now, Kia is jumping into the crossover market with their own vehicle.
In recent years, Kia has been making noise and this is just another example of how they’re making waves in the auto industry. Their crossover utility vehicle (CUV) is currently under wraps, and the whole project is quiet, but there are reports of it resembling the Kia’s old Provo concept car. If that’s anything to go by, it’s bound to look appealing (baby, got back!)
