The 2022 Kia Carnival MPV, otherwise known as a “multipurpose vehicle”, has been a winner since its debut. Kia Corp’s entry into the luxury vehicle segment, the automaker has already topped the charts when it comes to the mass market. The Kia Niro EV being the highest ranked electric vehicle in the mass auto market during the 2022 J.D. Power EVX Study is plenty proof of that. Not only does the Kia Carnival MPV come equipped with luxurious features and upscale tech, but the Carnival is also making its way to the winners’ circle of many automotive publications. Recently, in early March 2022, the 2022 Kia Carnival MPV won the 2022 Autotrader Best New Car Award. The newest award is being named “Family Vehicle of the Year” by AutoGuide.
“The Kia Carnival MPV is truly a multi-purpose vehicle and breaks the mold of what many perceive a vehicle like this should be…We’re proud to receive AutoGuides’ family vehicle award, celebrating the Carnival MPV’s premium design and abundant safety technology. This award further validates the Carnival MPV’s wide-reaching appeal, which resulted in our popular MPV capturing 9.3 percent market share in its segment in 2021.” – Steven Center, COO and EVP, Kia America
A win like this is always another feather in the cap for an automaker. Like many other automotive publications out there, AutoGuide reviews cars, writes about new and used cars, reports on news in the automotive industry, and yes, puts together “Best of” lists. AutoGuide came to their decision about the 2022 Kia Carnival MPV after a panel of seven editors and reporters drove hundreds of vehicles across North America, measuring vehicles based on value, user-friendliness, space, safety, and more. The group of vehicles were cars, trucks, and utility vehicles. There were 40 finalists, and the Carnival MPV made the final list of only eight vehicles.
It’s happening. Automakers are finally hitting the alternative fuel market in full force. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is joining the EV market, but automakers like Kia Motors have been on the upswing of hybrids and electric vehicles for years. As more companies join the new gold rush, there will be more variety and choices for the consumer, and less pollution for the environment. It’s a win-win, with plenty of benefits for both parties. Recently, AutoGuide took a look at the many electric vehicles out there, and named the Kia Soul EV andChevrolet Bolt EV as two of the vehicles consumers should consider if looking into an all-electric vehicle.
Kia Motors has many hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicle (EV) choices, and the lineup of such vehicles is growing. Just the other day,WardsAuto heralded Kia Motors for EV technology and hybrid options. The 2018 Kia Soul EV comes in two trims, EV and EV+, and both are run by a permanent magnet AC synchronous electric motor with regenerative braking, powered by a 30 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery system with a 6.6kW on-board charger. With the ability to seat five people, and an all-electric range of 0-111 miles (emissions free), this is the perfect carpool vehicle.
The Kia Stinger was the first of many wonderful cars that have recently come from Kia Motors. Dating back to January 2017 when Kia started“The Curve Ahead” promotion, subsequently followed by the2018 Kia Stinger making its first debut at the2017 Detroit Auto Show, many were blown away by the new Kia sports car. Since then, the Kia Stinger has been all over the world, making statements and turning heads with its revolutionary looks and performance. Following its late-2017 early-2018 release, the 2018 Kia Stinger has won awards, filmed plenty of promos, and now, a new custom limited edition pops up every month. Check out what’s new today for the Kia Stinger.
First off, let’s do a little recap since the 2018 Kia Stinger was unveiled to the world. Before the Kia Stinger was released, there were many promotions for it popping up. The first was “The Curve Ahead”, but following its debut was the Stinger Runway Racing Challenge during New York Fashion Week in September 2017. During this time, a chunk of New York City was turned into a fully functioning race track to test and display the true power of the Kia Stinger. The drivers behind the wheel were some of the biggest names in fashion, music, sports, and entertainment.
Following its release, award after award was, well, awarded to the 2018 Kia Stinger. AutoGuide.com was judging a selection of cars in early 2018 with the Stinger being one of them. When it came time to survey and test vehicles for their2018 “Car of the Year” Award, the Kia Stinger not only won the “2018 Car of the Year” award from AutoGuide.com but also the “2018 AutoGuide.com Reader’s Choice Car of the Year Award.” The fancy sports car also went on to win MotorWeek’s 2018 “Best of the Year” award, a “2018 iF Design Award” for its striking and original appearance, and during its stay at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the 2018 Kia Stinger won “Best Production Car of the Year” and the “2018 Shift Award Vehicle of the Year” during the latest award ceremony hosted by Roadshow by CNET.
The Kia Stinger is really shaking up the auto industry. Having been recently released, it’s getting looks wherever it goes, and it’s surprised anyone who gets behind the steering wheel. Recently, AutoGuide tested several vehicles for the AutoGuide.com 2018 Car of the Year Award, and the 2018 Kia Stinger came out on top.
“It’s the kind of disruptive car that will send its competitors kind of scrambling to keep up. Once you drive it, it really becomes obvious that this [the Kia Stinger] is something special. And this will change things for Kia as a brand and might even change things for the whole industry”. – Jodi Lai, Editor-in-Chief at AutoGuide.com
Wow. Now that’s a winning statement for any vehicle, and we’re happy to hear it’s about the Kia Stinger. Three staff members of AutoGuide got a chance to drive the Stinger, and collectively, they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Maybe it could benefit from more head room in the back, but aside from that, the power it delivers and the storage space it has available, makes it a vehicle set apart from the rest of the industry.
2016 made it official that the auto market is starting to shift. SUVS and crossovers (CUVs) are starting to dominate, and although some of us still love sedans and sports cars, the focus is also turning towards the big metal cages. In December, AutoGuide took a look at midsize three-row crossovers and the results may surprise you.
Five CUVs were measured and tested on a variety of specs, from mechanical engine specs and horsepower to cargo space and price. How each would hold up when pitted against the other four would clearly define which one stood out. The vehicles consisted of the 2016 Mazda CX-9, the 2016 Honda Pilot, the 2017 GMC Acadia, the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe, and the 2016 Kia Sorento, and the rating of each crossover is in AutoGuide’s ranking of worst to best.
Wouldn’t you know, AutoGuide rated the Kia Sorento as the most affordable three-row mid-size crossover that is also fairly comparable to its more expensive competitors. Many of its specs were similar or a few digits shy of competitors, but given that some specs (wheelbase for one) don’t really say much when it comes to a customer’s comfort and feelings towards a vehicle, let’s look at engine, fuel economy, cargo space, towing capacity, and of course, the price.
