Kia Models Named on U .S. News & World Report and Edmunds Best of Lists

January isn’t even over yet, and the Kia Corp just continues to grab up awards. Recently concluding, the U.S. News & World Report wrapped up the “Best Cars for the Money” awards, and Edmunds posted its results for the Edmunds Top Rated Best of the Best list. We’re proud to say four Kia models took awards for “Best Cars for the Money”, and during its first year of production, the Kia EV9 was named by Edmunds. Check out the winnings for these beauties.

Edmunds Top Rated Best of the Best 

Kia Models Named on U .S. News & World Report and Edmunds Best of Lists. Just landing in America in 2023, the new all-electric, three-row Kia EV9 won the title of Edmunds Top Rated Electric SUV during its first year on sale. Building on Kia’s reputation for vehicles that bring segment-above excellence to the auto market, Edmunds editorial team put the EV9 through vehicle testing to rank it so highly among the rest. The team also ranks vehicles based on Edmunds EV Range Test™ and Edmunds EV Charging Test™ for EVs competing last year. In the end, the Edmunds Top Rated Best of the Best award is at the editor’s discretion, and the EV9 shined brightly. Joining it was the 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid, honored as the Edmunds Top Rated SUV for the second consecutive year.

Best Cars for the Money awards from U.S. News & World Report

Highlighting cars and SUVs that represent the best combination of quality and value in their respective segments, the “Best Cars for the Money” awards include 11 automotive categories. U.S. News & World Report rates vehicles based on various factors, including comfort, tech features, fuel economy, safety, and reliability. When it comes to the best bang for the buck, U.S. News & World Report also calculates real-time transaction prices and five-year total cost of ownership to find the winners.

This year (2024), the U.S. News & World Report recognized the Kia Telluride as the best 3-row SUV. With its Telluride X-Line and Telluride X-Pro, the SUV has come far, adding more capability to the vehicle. The U.S. News & World Report also recognized the Kia Sportage Hybrid as the best hybrid SUV (only in its second year of production) and the Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid as the best plug-in hybrid SUV. The Kia Sportage is Kia’s longest-running family of vehicles, and expanded into electric variations recently. Finally, the U.S. News & World Report recognized the Kia Soul as the best subcompact SUV, redefining the boxy small-car segment since 2009.
