Last week we talked about how strong Kia Corp continues to grow after the pandemic shook things up in 2020 and the semiconductor chip shortage is hurting just about everyone. Even so, Kia Corp closed out the first half of 2021, the second quarter ending in June 2021, with the highest ever record for first-half yearly sales – 378,511 units sold. Some might think it’s because it’s the first half of the year, people want to get out there and start driving again, maybe treat themselves to a new car or keep a new resolution to travel more. Well, the sales for July just came in, and Kia Corp continues to impress with the automaker’s highest July sales in company history.
“Kia continues to build on the momentum from our record breaking first-half by setting yet another recor…Kia sold more than 74-percent of our available inventory in July as compared to 34-percent during the same period last year, a solid reflection of the strong consumer interest in the brand.” – Sean Yoon, president and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America
That’s crazy. Sure, just about any automaker is going to sell more than they did last year, but even with the aftermath, Kia sold 74-percent of all available units produced. That’s not bad at all. The new record for Kia Corp for July sales is 70,099 units. The Carnival MPV was recently introduced and has seen a steady rise in sales. Kia posted the fourth consecutive month-over-month increase for the Carnival, marking the model’s highest monthly sales performance, with nearly over 3500 units sold in July, a total of 15,641 units sold to-date for 2021. The major breadwinners for July though are the Kia Forte, Kia Sportage, and Kia K5/Optima, followed by the Kia Telluride before falling under 8,000 units sold. In total, July sales were up by 34-percent year-over-year, or when comparing 2021 sales with 2020 sales.
These sales in July only help compliment some of Kia Corp’s success in July alone. Recognized with prestigious industry awards and accolades, the 2022 Stinger sports sedan was awarded the Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) award by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS). Most recently, the Kia K5 was named the most satisfying premium midsize car, and the Telluride rated as the most satisfying Large Crossover SUV during the 2021 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards by AutoPacific. Vehicle satisfaction is decided by real owners who take a survey designed to rate vehicles on 36 individual model attributes ranging from driving performance and features usability to seating comfort and interior design. More than 89,000 new car and light truck owners answered the survey this year. If you need a strong opinion, there it is.
Remember, the Kia Sportage is all-new for the new generation in 2021; the Kia Telluride is the automaker’s largest SUV to date (and there are rumors about an ell-electric variant); and the Kia K5 is the all-new generation of the Kia Optima, bringing its sports car style and performance to the forefront of the model. Kia even released a new GT-Line AWD Premium Package for the K5 to really show off its performance capabilities. The newest of them all is the Kia Carnival MPV, the most luxurious vehicle by Kia Corp thus far.Want to check out these new vehicles by Kia Corp? Find your new Kia vehicle at Miami Lakes Automall.

The 2019 Consumer Electronics Show took place back in January, and although it’s mostly focused on consumer appliances and technology, that didn’t stop some automakers from popping up. That includes Kia Motors and their autonomous technology at 2019 CES. One of the technologies they debuted was an automated valet system controlled by the user’s smartphone. Recently, the automaker took a step towards connecting electric vehicles and smartphones through a new app currently in production.
In late April 2019, the Hyundai Motor Group, consisting of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis, revealed that a new smartphone app will be coming to fully electric cars to offer consumers the potential to customize and personalize their vehicle on a level that’s not entirely possible with standard gasoline models. There are already apps available for these vehicles for checking out the battery life, charge, adjusting levels of brake regeneration, and switching between different drive modes. This app does much more, and consumers won’t have to worry about voiding a warranty for making these modifications, another blunder gasoline models tend to run into.
Who said electric cars (EVs) can’t perform? High-performance vehicles with alternative fuel are quickly becoming the next big thing in the pre-autonomous auto market. Self-driving, autonomous vehicles are also on the horizon, but they may be a little further out. Many automakers have resigned to finally embrace the change of the alternative fuel market, and some are thinking, “Hey, let’s do what we do best.” Still, make high-performance vehicles but make them so that they’re powered by an electric motor. Sound crazy? Kia Motors doesn’t think so.
The 2020 Kia Soul EV debuted at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, and it’s been getting the attention of a newborn baby! Following the pattern of the 2020 Kia Soul, the all-new 2020 Kia Soul EV is a last-generation replacement. With 40-percent more torque, nearly 85-percent more power, and an even longer driving range, the 2020 Kia Soul EV will be setting the stage for future Kia models.
The Super Bowl recently concluded with the New England Patriots taking home the winnings. During this time of year, many product brands and services are able to put together a great commercial that will hopefully burn into the mind of every viewer so that their product and/or service will be remembered for the many months to come. Who still remembers, “WHASSSSUUUUUP?” Say it aloud, and we’re sure someone nearby will respond appropriately. Well, aside from humor, some brands are reaching out a bit more to the youth. One of these automotive brands is Kia Motors.
The Great Unknown
We actually discussed this advertisement by Kia Motors not too long ago, but not at length because it had yet to have its “official” debut. However, like many, Kia unleashed this ad online weeks before the Super Bowl aired. Kia Motors has actually been getting very involved with the youth lately, partnering with South Korean girl group, BLACKPINK, to sponsor their 2019 World Tour, and becoming the official sponsor of the League of Legends European World Championship.
It’s just the week of good news isn’t it? Consumer Guide® Automotive finished their “Best Buy” awards list, naming the vehicles that deserve it the most for their respective segments and why. We just finished talking about how the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica and 2019 Ram 1500 won 2019 Best Buy for their classes. Now we have two more vehicles to congratulate, and this time from Kia Motors – say hello to two new Best Buys, the 2019 Kia Rio and 2019 Kia Soul.

Like the 2019 Kia Niro EV at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2020 Kia Soul EV took the stage. With Kia Motors expanding its alternative fuel vehicle lineup, like the Kia Niro, Kia Niro plug-in hybrid, and the upcoming Kia Telluride hybrid SUV, the Kia Soul EV is due for a bit of a refresh. Before the 2018 LA Auto Show, several press conferences were held by automotive brands to show off what they have coming up, and the Soul EV is one of them. With a full press release sharing all the details, we can finally talk all about the new 2020 Kia Soul EV.
Battery and Performance
It would seem the 2020 Kia Soul EV is sharing some new technology with the 2019 Kia Niro EV. The new Soul EV now comes with a new state-of-the-art liquid-cooled lithium ion polymer 64 kWh battery hooked up to a new electric motor that can generate 201 horsepower and 291 lb-ft of torque. Kia also stated that the Kia Soul EV can be charged at about 100 kW for a 50-percent charge up when using Combined Charging System (CCS) DC fast-charge, standard equipment for the 2020 Kia Soul EV.
The 2018 Kia Stinger is by far one of the best Kia models to come out for the 2018 model year. Next to their luxury sedan, the K900, the Stinger sports car set the new standard for Kia Motors. It’s style, it’s technology, and the fact that almost every trim in the lineup is the same aside from few luxury items saved for top-tier trims, it’s impossible to get a bad Kia Stinger. Consumers can get the base trim and still have an amazing vehicle on their hands. Maybe that’s why WardsAuto named the Stinger on their “10 Best Interiors” list. No matter the Kia Stinger, consumers can expect one of the best interior cabins for a sports car.
WardsAuto is an organization that covers the latest news, data, and analysis for today’s auto industry. To compile the “10 Best Interiors” list, 40 car interiors were evaluated by WardsAuto editors and judges. To make it to the finals, only the car interiors that were all new or significantly improved for the new model year went on to the final round. The changes jurors looked for included simple things like various color choices, aesthetics like interior accents and stitching, the style and comfort of the interior itself, and convenience features, and the 2018 Kia Stinger has all of that and more.
A few weeks back, the Kia Soul surpassed a large sales mark by selling over one million Kia Souls in the United States. It was then that it became clear that Kia Motors was going to own 2018 in the automotive industry, especially in the North American market. Ever since Kia debuted the 2018 Kia Stinger with The Curve Ahead promotion at the Detroit Auto Show and finally unleashed the 2018 Kia Stinger to dealerships, Kia Motors just keeps blowing up. So we thought it’s time for a recap of all this good news.

With the new year, a lot of people tend to make New Year’s resolutions. Guess what usually makes it to the top of the list. It’s money. Money, money, money, we all want to save and make more money! The gold rush is gone and is never coming back, so no one is going to strike it rich overnight any day soon. There are ways we can start saving money in 2018 though. Have some food for thought – it’s on us.
Alternative Fuel Vehicles
If in the market to buy or lease a new car, Miami Lakes Automall has a great selection of vehicles, including alternative fuel vehicles like the Chevrolet Bolt EV, the Kia Niro, the Kia Optima Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), the Chevy Volt, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, and many more. Our section of alternative fuel vehicles range from $20-$45,000, and they all come with some awesome opportunities for savings. Let’s do some math.
Chevy Bolt EV was introduced in 2017 and it is an award-winning electric vehicle that has a total driving distance of 238 miles on a fully charged battery. According to fueleconomy.gov, the average driver driving the Chevy Bolt EV spends about $550 in energy costs every year, and in comparison to the average new vehicle, the average driver saves about $4,250 in fuel costs every five years. Additionally, the 2018 Chevrolet Bolt EV is eligible for the full federal tax credit of $7,500. With a tax credit, if a consumer purchases the Bolt EV in 2018, then come tax season for the 2018 tax year, the consumer does not have to pay up to $7,500 in taxes that are owed to the federal government. Also, since the Chevy Bolt EV is a fully electric vehicle, the vehicle has no exhaust and emits zero tailpipe emissions, which is also great!
Kia Motors has been kicking butt recently, and with the 2018 model year well underway, we’re looking forward to some of their new vehicles fast approaching. Kia Stinger, we’re looking at you! Until then though, there are plenty of great vehicles to choose from. Possibly their largest lineup would be Kia crossovers, SUVs, and minivans. Give them a look.
Although it feels like more of a compact car, the Kia Soul is a crossover by Kia Motors standards. Available in three trims, the Kia Soul (base), Kia Soul Plus (+), and Kia Soul Exclaim (!), it’s tough to not get a great vehicle. Each is powered by a different engine, ranging from 130-201 horsepower, and each engine is paired to a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, or 7-speed dual clutch transmission. With standard features, the fuel economy of the Kia Soul is 24/30 city/highway mpg.
It goes without saying the Kia Soul has style, but without looking closer, consumers may not know that a panoramic sunroof with a sunshade is available, and that privacy glass and solar glass come standard. Inside, the Kia Soul + and Kia Soul ! come with UVO eServices on a 7-inch touchscreen, but can be updated to an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation; the base trim can also be upgraded with a 7-inch touchscreen and UVO eServices. All vehicles have Bluetooth wireless technology and steering wheel mounted audio controls. Many other features are left as an option for the Soul + and Soul !, such as heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, automatic temperature control, and various advanced safety features. MSRP starting at $16,100.
