What’s Coming for Kia Motors

Miami Lakes Automall New for Kia-Motors

Kia Motors is currently doing really well in the auto industry. Winning awards and becoming the safest automotive brand in America, a new electric vehicle on the horizon a.k.a. the Kia Niro EV, and new isolated sound zone technology, there’s a lot of great things coming up for the automaker. With the new model year closing in and new models being added to the lineup, take a look at what’s coming up for Kia Motors in 2019.

Kia Rio

The Kia Rio hatchback and sedan were redesigned for 2018, so we won’t see a huge difference until 2021.

Kia Soul

The Kia Soul will get some enhancements in 2019. These include a standard 5-inch touch screen, rear camera display and voice recognition on the base model. In 2020, a pending redesign is already in the works, and we may even see a Kia Soul hybrid to complement the Soul EV (not available in the U.S.)

Kia Forte

The 2018 Kia Stinger has some serious style, and this has brushed off onto several other vehicles, like the new Kia Forte. Making its way into its third generation, the Kia Forte has a refined powertrain, with new looks to the hood and tiger-nose grille. We may see this soon before the next model year.

Why You Should Get the Kia Drive Wise Package

When the 2018 Kia Stinger was first unveiled at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, many people were impressed by the sports car. “Sporting” a couple of firsts for Kia, the Stinger was the first vehicle to resurrect the Lambda engine (first having popped up in the 2005 Sorento), was the first Kia sedan to come with all-wheel drive (optional), and introduced Kia’s Driver Attention Alert (DAA) system to help combat distracted/drowsy driving. With that in mind, the Kia Stinger was also one of, if not the first Kia vehicle, to receive the Kia Drive Wise Package. Filled with an assortment of advanced safety features, for a driver that wants eyes in the back of their head and a little clairvoyance, this is the package to get when shopping with Kia Motors. Here’s what the Drive Wise Package includes.

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Forward Collision Avoidance (FCA) – A system designed to alert the driver of an impending collision with a slower moving or stationary vehicle/object via a sensor-operated chime. If an FCA, the system will also apply pressure to the brakes if driver input is not detected following the primary alert.

Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW) with Lane Change Assist – A sensor that detects other vehicles located to the side and rear of a vehicle, and displays a graphic or turns on a small light in the side mirror if a vehicle is detected. The system also assists the driver by letting them know of approaching traffic in their blind spot so they can make a safe merge into the other lane via Lane Change Assist.

Rear-Cross Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW) – Like blind-spot detection, RCCW alerts the driver when backing out of a parking space where traffic is present or approaching from either side.

Kia Motors VS Porsche and BMW

Miami Lakes Automall Kia Stinger GT vs Porsche BMW

Kia Motors will always be showing the automotive industry a new trick it seems. They either boast the title of the safest automotive brand, have the most hybrid vehicles in an automotive brand, or basically change the way the auto industry looks at Kia Motors with vehicles like the Kia Stinger. Recently, AMCI Global put the Kia Stinger up against luxury car automaker BMW. We’ve pit the Kia Stinger against a Porsche Panamera before, and we’ve challenged the Kia Stinger with fast and expensive sports cars. Time and again, the Kia Stinger comes out on top. AMCI Global decided to see for themselves – are the results the same? Read on to find out.

AMCI Global

AMCI is a company that aims to change the way consumers interact with automotive brands by publishing opinion-based experiences and educating the common public with tests and studies that evaluate car brands and specific models. AMCI wants to provide consumers with brands they can trust and products that are as reliable as they are operational. Performing studies such as the “Trusted Automotive Brand Study”, AMCI talks to thousands of real-life consumers to get the gritty details about vehicles and brands they like and don’t like to find out what brands and vehicles consumers trust the most.

Kia Stinger vs BMW

Beyond what AMCI actually does, from time-to-time, they’ll do a comparison of sorts. Pitting the Kia Stinger GT (with limited slip differential) against, what a coincidence(!), the 2018 Porsche Panamera (powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine), and a 2018 BMW 640i Gran Coupe with the M Sport package. AMCI decided to test the Kia Stinger GT against these two vehicles in four categories:

– 0-60 Acceleration

– Cornering

– The “Slalom”

– Closed course lap

Miami Lakes Automall Kia Motors Sound Zone Technology

MLAM Isolated Sound Zones Brought to You by Kia

Miami Lakes Automall Kia Motors Sound Zone Technology

With Kia Motors working on new technology for their up and coming alternative fuel vehicles, we wonder if they’ll ever stop surprising us. First, the automaker came out with the world’s first hybrid crossover, the Kia Niro. Shortly after, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variant of the crossover came out, the Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid. Now, Kia is working hard on getting the Kia Niro electric vehicle out onto the streets, but still has several bullets in the chamber. Up next is the world’s first hybrid SUV, the Kia Telluride, and a whole new sound system that will change vehicle cabins forever.

Back when the Kia Telluride concept got the green light, we were ecstatic. This is the most futuristic vehicle headed for the auto market, designed with an LED Light-Emitted Rejuvenation (LER) therapeutic system, Smart Sensors that can monitor and display configurable health information of the first and second-row passengers, and a Swipe Command touch-sensitive second-row media-control band that allows the second-row passengers to access multimedia via a touchscreen of their own. That third feature is a technology that Kia Motors, in conjunction with the Hyundai Motor Group, is intent to expand on.

Introducing “Separated Zone Technology” into the auto market, Kia Motors will release what it calls a Separated Sound Zone (SSZ) audio system in future vehicles. Like noise-canceling headphones that drown out ambient noise (using a small microphone), SSZ technology isolates acoustic fields around the cabin of a vehicle and then allows speakers around the cabin to increase or reduce audio levels individually. No longer will all speakers be tied to the center console and the main audio system alone. In a five-passenger vehicle, the driver and front passenger can listen to their tunes in the front, while passengers listen to their own in the back. Kia Motors even discusses the possibility of making private phone calls private by isolating them to a single speaker in the cabin.

Miami Lakes Automall Kia Niro Crossovers

Let’s Take a Look at All Three Kia Niro Crossovers

Miami Lakes Automall Kia Niro Crossovers

It’s crazy how the automarket is suddenly shifting into alternative fuel vehicles. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles have finally turned over to making hybrids and electric vehicles, whereas Chevrolet and Kia Motors are only improving upon their current vehicles. Just like when Chrysler made the first plug-in hybrid minivan with the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, Kia Motors made the first hybrid crossover, the Kia Niro. Soon after, in late 2017, Kia released a plug-in hybrid variant of the Niro, and soon, we’ll be getting an electric vehicle (EV) variant of the crossover, as updates about the Kia Niro EV continue to pour in.

Kia Niro

The first of its kind, the Kia Niro crossover is a hybrid vehicle. Powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder and Full Parallel Hybrid System, the powertrain is made up of a 1.6-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine optimized with Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) and Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) for improved performance and fuel efficiency. Coupled with the engine is an AC Synchronous Permanent Magnet Motor, powered by a 1.56 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. Combined, the powertrain can generate 139 horsepower and 196 lb-ft of torque. All trims are paired to a dual-clutch six-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic.

Kia and Chevrolet Are the Best Options for an EV

It’s happening. Automakers are finally hitting the alternative fuel market in full force. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is joining the EV market, but automakers like Kia Motors have been on the upswing of hybrids and electric vehicles for years. As more companies join the new gold rush, there will be more variety and choices for the consumer, and less pollution for the environment. It’s a win-win, with plenty of benefits for both parties. Recently, AutoGuide took a look at the many electric vehicles out there, and named the Kia Soul EV and Chevrolet Bolt EV as two of the vehicles consumers should consider if looking into an all-electric vehicle.

Kia

Kia Motors has many hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicle (EV) choices, and the lineup of such vehicles is growing. Just the other day, WardsAuto heralded Kia Motors for EV technology and hybrid options. The 2018 Kia Soul EV comes in two trims, EV and EV+, and both are run by a permanent magnet AC synchronous electric motor with regenerative braking, powered by a 30 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery system with a 6.6kW on-board charger. With the ability to seat five people, and an all-electric range of 0-111 miles (emissions free), this is the perfect carpool vehicle.

Kia Motors Gets Kudos for Going EV

Miami Lakes Automall Kia Niro

Once again, for 2018, Kia Motors is the leading non-luxury brand in the automarket according to the 2018 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. 2018 marks the third year-in-a-row that Kia Motors nabs that spot. This put Kia Motors in the spotlight once again, and has many news organizations examining the lineup for what makes the auto brand so great. Recently, WardsAuto and U.S. News & World Report tackled Kia Motors venture into alternative fuel and their new electric vehicles.

To put it simply, WardsAuto paid Kia Motors kudos for not only receiving the second-highest score during the J.D. Initial Quality Study ever, but with an advanced powertrain field, the automaker has been aggressively moving onto greener pastures with hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and electric vehicles. One of the snags many automakers hit with alternative fuel is driving range, but Kia Motors tackles that too.

“It is a huge step for many buyers to go all the way from a gas car to 100% electric…It involves how much confidence they feel. As range increases, anxiety will be reduced. So we think the hybrid and specifically the plug-in hybrid is a nice evolution to get people on the way to full electric.” – Orth Hedrick, vice president-product planning at Kia Motors America.

Reasons to Love the New 2019 Kia Sorento

Miami Lakes Automall 2019 Kia Sorento Featured

When it comes to finding an SUV that isn’t just powerful but also serves as a family or passenger-vehicle, it may be a little tough for consumers to wade through the waters of a saturated auto market. Some vehicles do stand out, but when they all look alike, it’s a little tough to spot the differences. With the 2019 model year coming up, some automakers, like Kia Motors, are coming out with their usual models, but some are getting a little refresh to highlight what makes them great and get a little of the spotlight shining their way. The 2019 Kia Sorento is one of those vehicles.

Affordable Price

Let’s put it all out there! No secrets between us. The new 2019 Kia Sorento has a starting MSRP of $25,990 (plus destination fee) with a range of six trims that barely touch $50k. There’s plenty of options between trims for consumers to get what they’re looking for, and it’s all possible on a decent salary. Consumers won’t have to penny-pinch to get a little luxury in their life in the Kia Sorento.

Standard Features

When the auto market gets competitive, pricing isn’t the only thing fiddled around with. The second-best way to win over new consumers is to offer them more for less. So why not make more features standard instead of optional add-ons? The 2019 Kia Sorento comes with automatic headlights, heated exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals, solar control and privacy glass, and seven-inch touchscreen with UVO Play, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities all standard.

Miami Lakes Automall Lia Sorento Quiet SUV

Kia and Chevy Named on Quietest Car List by U.S. News

Miami Lakes Automall Lia Sorento Quiet SUV

The summer isn’t over, and that means big names in the auto industry are continuing to round up the numbers and finish their lists. One of those was recently J.D. Power, with Kia Motors leading the Initial Quality Study for non-luxury car brands. Another name that popped up was U.S. News & World Report, naming Kia Motors hybrid cars, SUVs, and the Kia Stinger on a variety of lists. Now, U.S. News pops up again, naming the quietest SUVs on the market. Yes, there’s a niche for that, especially for those of us with little ones in the car who need their nappies.

2018 Chevrolet Tahoe

It’s hard to believe that this behemoth of an SUV can be called “quiet”, but U.S. News & World Report named the Chevy Tahoe on their list for a reason – well, a couple of reasons. Namely, U.S. News is quick to point out that the large SUV is a cushioned, quiet ride powered by a 355hp 5.3-liter V8 engine (standard) that provides enough power for most buyers on the market. They also mention the optional 420hp 6.2-liter V8 for its torque and towing capabilities; if it’s as quiet as the standard engine, it’s a win-win.

Because these quiet vehicles may have a focus on family-minded drivers, U.S. News also covers the stylish cabin of the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe and some of the amenities offered. Built with noise-deadening insulation, the cabin is kept quiet from outside noise, and passengers will have plenty of leg space to relax without feeling cramped and they’ll keep cool with tri-zone climate control. For entertainment, every trim comes with Chevrolet MyLink on an 8-inch touchscreen display that features AM/FM stereo, Bluetooth streaming Audio, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities. Oh, and a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot also comes standard.

2018 Kia Sorento

We didn’t forget about Kia Motors. They were in the intro, right? Another vehicle named by U.S. News & World Report for quiet vehicles is the 2018 Kia Sorento SUV. Named the least expensive on the list with a starting MSRP of $25,900 (plus destination fee), the 2018 Kia Sorento has a number of powertrains available, all as quiet as the other for a smooth ride. Consumers can get the fuel-efficient 185hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, get a power boost with the 240hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, or go for gold with the optional 290hp V6 engine.

Again, what family vehicle stops the review at the powertrain? The 2018 Kia Sorento features premium materials for a comfortable ride as it is quiet, able to sit up to seven passengers depending on the trim. With so many trims in the lineup, features are sprinkled around a bit, but if simply looking to take kids to school and run errands with a little entertainment, then the Sorento is a great choice, offering 73.5 cubic-feet of space for groceries, after-school equipment, etc.

Looking for these quiet vehicles and others for driving with the family? We have plenty of safe and powerful SUVs at Miami Lakes Automall.
