The Jeep Renegade EV to Launch in 2027 for Under $25,000

Recent reports reveal America’s favorite off-road maker to revive a familiar nameplate as an EV by 2027. During an investor presentation, Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa confirmed that the Renegade will return as an electric vehicle priced under $25,000 within the next three years. Achieving this price point would make it more affordable than the Europe-exclusive Jeep Avenger, which starts at just under $26,000. The Renegade, last seen in the 2023 model year, was initially introduced in 2015 to compete with subcompact crossovers like the Honda HR-V, Buick Encore, and Nissan Kicks.

Although recent Stellantis updates indicate that Filosa confirmed the Renegade would be available as an EV, gas and 4XE versions are still on the table. The U.S. market is in significant demand for more affordable EVs, and Stellantis is fully committed to meeting this need with Renegade. The plan to sell the Renegade at a low price point is expected to be independent of tax credits.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares also addressed this during the event, stating that the company aims to produce lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries to hit the $25,000 target in the United States. Jeep and its parent company, Stellantis, manufacture these cheaper LFP batteries domestically, which could challenge obtaining federal tax credits.
