2019 jeep renegade

The 2019 Jeep Renegade is Finally Here

Initially unveiled overseas several months ago, the refreshed Jeep® Renegade was finally revealed this week for the U.S. market, complete with a mild visual update, several added features, and a downsized 1.3-liter turbo engine – available to those drivers who seek a little more power on the road. Additionally, the manual transmission will no longer be an option and the turbocharged engine will not be the standard powertrain.

Doing away with its notorious boxy look, the refreshed 2019 Renegade gets visual updates that modernize its front and rear with reshaped fascias and newly optional LED headlights and taillights. New wheel designs, exterior colors, and even a revised instrument cluster complete the list of visual improvements in the 2019 model year.

Powertrain options experience an even bigger change, with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine now the default engine on the Sport and Latitude trims, a big change from the previously standard turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine. The 2.4-liter is capable of generating 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque when paired with the standard nine-speed automatic transmission. Limited and Trailhawk trims come standard with an all-new 1.3-liter turbocharged engine that makes more power than the old turbocharged engine – 177 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque. The Limited trim also features engine-stop-start (ESS) technology and active grille shutters for improved fuel economy. A stick-shift option is no longer available since all engines are paired with the standard nine-speed transmission.

No official word yet from Jeep on pricing, but the refreshed Renegade is likely to see an increase thanks to the fact that its automatic transmission is now standard. Industry experts expect a minimum increase of $1000. The Jeep Renegade currently has an MSRP of $18,445 (plus destination fee).

In other Jeep news – we recently wrote about the ongoing web series competition by Jeep, and now we’ve finally got a winner! The six-part web series followed three celebrities – Alex Rodriguez, Maria Menounos, and The Infatuation – and their respective builders as they competed against one another for the Wrangler Golden Grille Award. Each celebrity was given a stock JL Wrangler and was asked to customize it to their liking, trying to earn the praise and vote of the judging panel.

In the end, it was Maria Menounos and DCD Customs who took the award home. They set themselves apart from the competition by building upon a classic two-door Wrangler, complete with custom half-doors and a hand-painted dashboard. Polished aluminum GenRight bumpers, a Warn winch, and 39-inch Super Swampers finished off the custom look.

What Does Jeep’s Trail Rated Badge Mean?

2018 Jeep Cherokee Capability Trail Rated

Trail Rated Jeeps first were introduced in 2004 to signify which Jeep vehicles were trail worthy, according to strict Jeep specifications. Among the five criteria each vehicle is rigorously tested and evaluated by includes vehicle traction, maneuverability, ground clearance, water fording and off road articulation.
The only vehicles holding a Trail Rated status currently are the Jeep Wrangler, Compass, Renegade, Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. Jeep has since established with the help of their Nevada Automotive Test Center, which vehicles earn the right to be Trail Rated. While many drivers never imagine taking their vehicles off-road, that’s not going to be the experience for owners of a Trail Rated Jeep vehicle.

Jeep Trail Rated 4×4 vehicles are able to overcome bad weather with their superior traction. Their unique maneuverability is due to precise steering and optimized wheels bases that allow drivers to navigate their way effectively. No matter the terrain, they can push ahead.
Even with water in your path, a Jeep Trail Vehicle can go ahead. Water fording is the ability of a Jeep Trail Rated vehicle to plunge ahead through up to 19-30 inches of water. Carry on over large puddles and creeks in your way.

Tested in areas of the frigid cold and rocky area of Northern Michigan that many other vehicles wouldn’t dare try to conquer, Jeep Trail Rated vehicles are certified. These vehicles have the ground clearance and ability to go over hills, uneven terrain and rocks, tree stumps and more without damaging the undercarriage of your vehicle. Maximum vehicle suspension helps allow for a Jeep vehicle to handle each rocky off-road adventure.

Understanding why a Jeep owner loves their Jeep, proud Jeep owners embrace all a Jeep provides. For many, that Trail Rated badge symbolizing what makes owning a Jeep so much fun as not every vehicle on the market offers the versatility and capabilities of a Jeep vehicle.

Rush over to Miami Lakes Automall to experience with a full scale test-drive with any of the Jeep Trail Rated vehicles we have available. You won’t regret your great experience with our friendly and knowledgeable staff and our line-up of fully capable Jeep vehicles.

2016 Jeep Limited- and Special-Edition Models

Jeep is known for SUVs, heritage and customization and in 2016, there are a variety of special-edition trims based on those characteristics. While the Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition and the Jeep Renegade Dawn of Justice trims are special-edition trims that are exclusive to the model, this year’s special-edition 75th Anniversary Edition is available across the entire lineup. Here’s a look at three of the special or limited-edition Jeeps available in 2016.

This year Jeep celebrated its 75th anniversary and to celebrate Jeep created 75th Anniversary Edition trims across all seven models. The features vary from model to model, but there are some options that are the same on each of the special anniversary trims.

To pay tribute to Jeep’s roots as an military army green vehicle, all 75th Anniversary models will be available in an exclusive green hue that varies by model. All models will have Low Gloss Bronze wheels, Bronze and Orange exterior accents, unique interiors, including exclusive seats with embossed 75th Anniversary logo or one-of-a-kind Ombre Mesh fabric, and a 75th Anniversary exterior badge.

Another limited-edition model available in 2016 is the Freedom Edition, which has been available on the Wrangler lineup for a couple years. The Freedom Edition is available on the two-door Wrangler or the four-door Wrangler Unlimited and comes with a a Sunrider soft top.

Other unique features include sparkle silver-painted 17-inch alloy wheels, Mineral Gray-painted grille and front and rear bumper inserts, a prominent “Oscar Mike” star-in-circle fender badges and decals, rock rails with matching black tail lamp guards and a Mopar fuel fill door. The interior is fitted with black seats with rugged tectonic fabric, and “Oscar Mike” logos as well.

The vehicle comes with a couple upgraded technology groups such as the connectivity group and the power and convenience group. The connectivity group comes with a UConnect system, tire pressure monitor, and a vehicle information system. The convenience group focuses on safety features like power locks, heated exterior mirrors, remote keyless entry, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a security alarm.

Inspired by this year’s superhero movie, Batman v. Superman Dawn of Justice, is the Jeep Renegade Dawn of Justice Edition. This trim is a real-life replica of vehicle driven by Bruce Wayne in the movie. If that isn’t already cool enough, the interior and exterior features and unique logos make this Renegade trim stand out from the others.

Buyers of this special trim have the option of black paint (like the one in the movie) or a dark-gray color. Other exterior features include unique Dawn of Justice logos, black gloss wheels, and a black top with black roof rails. Interior features include metal diamond trim throughout the interior, dark black cloth seats with the 7-slot Jeep grille logo embroidered  the headrests and an available Beats audio system.
