The color of love just became a lot stronger; in a fighting effort for compassion. Jeep is one of many automakers apart of a multi-brand partnership with its parent company Stellantis and the (RED) campaign. The Stellantis and (RED) collaboration cultivated a movement inspired to support the essential work of the Global Fund.

In Jeep’s contribution toward the fight against global health emergencies, the automaker released the new Jeep Renegade (RED) special edition. The 2022 Jeep Renegade is synonymous with the best off-road capability in its segment. Now the Renegade has a fearless appearance to match its daring personality.

“The Jeep brand is uniting with (RED) and several Stellantis brands to help fund life-saving health programs around the world. A percentage from the sales of every Jeep Renegade (RED) and Jeep Compass (RED) special editions will help support the critical work of the Global Fund and the fight against pandemics.”

-Jim Morrison, Senior Vice President of Jeep Brand North America

The Jeep Renegade (RED) Special Edition’s base is the critically acclaimed Latitude trim. The special edition Renegade holds a US manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $29,590* (excluding taxes and destination fees). In addition, the Renegade (RED) features Colorado Red mirror caps, body-color painted roof, black roof rails, 19-inch Granite Crystal aluminum wheels that hold a special (RED) badge.

The special edition Renegade’s interior includes black cloth bucket seats with Sky Gray stitching. Trailhawk Ruby Red speakers with vent bezels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, console and shifter, and the standard 8.4-inch touchscreen display with GPS navigation (the most extensive navigation system in its segment) and UConnect 4.

The 4×4 2022 Jeep Renegade (RED) special edition includes the standard 1.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine paired to a segment-first nine-speed automatic transmission. Then there’s Jeep Active Drive full-time automated system that provides a smooth operation either in or out of the four-wheel-drive without driver assistance, no matter the speed. The disconnecting rear axle and Power Transfer Unit (PTU) also heightens the Jeep Renegade’s fuel economy.

Every Renegade model comes equipped with 70 standard and optional safety and security features. Features such as full-speed forward collision warning with active braking, active lane management system, and blind-spot monitoring maintain safety on some of the darkest nights.

Aside from the Jeep Renegade (RED) special edition, the subcompact Jeep’s other exterior colors include Alpine, Black, Sting Gray, and Colorado Red.

The Brazil Preview Heard Around the World for the 2022 Jeep Renegade

Rare sightings, but the internet remains undefeated. Spies captured the 2022 Jeep Renegade prototype back in September (2021). Testing for the Renegade commenced some time last year, and speculation gathered that the vehicle would reach the US sometime this year (2022). Yet, in true undefeated behavior, the internet leaked a video of the 2022 Renegade. The leak forced Jeep Brazil to “officially” reveal the subcompact SUV through a series of photos.

For now, everything known about the Renegade is limited to its exterior and brief glimpses of the cabin. First, the subcompact Jeep receives a facelift, giving the SUV a narrower grille than its predecessor. In addition, turn signals and the daytime running lights (DRLs) reveal an integration into the headlights. The new integration left room for Jeep to alter the fascia on the lower section. Additionally, the fog lights receive a new rectangular shape placed higher than the previous model.

At the back of the Renegade is the LED taillight, but this time around there’s an alteration in the taillight graphics. The bumper also received a redesign featuring an enlarged faux skid plate and slimmer lights at the corner.

The Renegade’s cabin also revealed a humble redesign. Although the dashboard layout for the outgoing trim remains consistent, the SUV features an updated steering wheel from its older brother, the Jeep Compass. In addition to the new steering wheel, the Renegade gains a fully digital 7-inch instrument panel and an 8.4-inch infotainment screen.

There’s little information about what’s underneath the hood other than the fact that Brazil will eliminate the diesel-powered option for the 2022 model. Additionally, the 1.3-liter Turboflex T270 engine will premiere in the crossover. The Turboflex engine generates 185 horsepower with ethanol. The Renegade’s standard powertrain is front-wheel-drive paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The 2022 Jeep Renegade will premiere in the South American market by January or February of this year (2022). The US debut will happen sometime this year, but no one knows the official date for now.

Let’s Fact Check the 2022 Jeep Renegade

Jeep

Four walls comprise the 2022 Jeep Renegade with enticing escapades guaranteed for frills that are out-of-the-box. These four walls to the Renegade’s great foundation include the best off-road capability, open-air freedom, fuel-efficient powertrains, and a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder paired with a nine-speed transmission. The combination culminates an astounding on-road and off-road driving dynamic infused with quality refinement and an assemblage of innovative safety and technology features.

What’s New for 2022?

The 2022 Renegade welcomes the Altitude trim with perks such as Gloss Black badging, grille rings, rear valence, and DLR/turn bezels. The Altitude trim also features gloss-black exterior mirrors integrated with turn signals, 18-inch gloss black wheels, deluxe cloth/ leather-trimmed seats infused with Ski grey accent stitching, and Gloss Black interior accents.

The standard for the subcompact SUVs infotainment system is an 8.4-inch touchscreen display. The touchscreen display includes GPS navigation, but only for the Sport and Latitude trims.

The Mesmerizing Features

The 2022 Jeep Renegade embraces expansion as competition grows thick in the compact SUV segment. As a result, the Renegade personifies the mantra ‘Go Anywhere, Do Anything.’ The Renegade’s 1.3-liter direct-injection turbocharged engine increases fuel efficiency and decreases emissions to deliver 177-horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. There’s also the option of the active grille shutters, providing engine stop-start (ESS) technology for increased fuel efficiency. Unfortunately, ESS isn’t available for the Trailhawk trim of the Renegade.

Jeep Active Drive and Active Drive Low 4×4 systems provide enthusiasts with a Selec-Terrain system. The Selec-Terrain system offers up to five modes: Auto, Snow, Sand, and Mud (there’s also Rock mode exclusively for the Trailhawk). Equip the Renegade with any mode for the best four-wheel-drive performance, and the Renegade turns into a USPS driver, delivering a spirited execution in rain, hail, sleet, or snow.

Nothing but the best for the best, the Renegade Trailhawk trim provides Trail Rated 4×4 capability equipped with standard Jeep Active Drive Low. The absolute best-in-class renders an advanced 21:1 crawl ratio, 8.7-inches of ground clearance, skid plates, signature red front, rear tow hookups, up to 8.1-inches of wheel articulation, Hill descent control, and 19-inches of fording.

Safety never felt safer in the Jeep Renegade until now. Over 70 standard and available safety and security features protect the subcompact SUV. But the 2022 Renegade is the first to holster Forward Collision Warning-Plus and LaneSense Departure Warning-Plus.
