Jeep is One Step Closer to Getting a New Parent Company

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), the parent company of Jeep, is on the verge of finalizing a gargantuan merger with France’s Peugeot parent company. The finalized merger will create the world’s fourth-largest automaker: Stellantis. Now that PSA shareholders have taken a vote and approved the deal, FCA can consider its decade long search for a partner as coming to a close. Both General Motors and Volkswagen previously rejected FCA’s attempts at a merger. Officials suggest that the merger between the two giants is bound to yield billions of dollars in annual savings as Stellantis begins to pool its resources and accelerate the development of electric cars and electric technology. The Jeep Wrangler Works Hard to Reduce its Environmental Footprint

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) continues on its quest to reduce its environmental footprint by monitoring and reducing the environmental impact of its vehicles. The automaker just completed its latest Global Warming Potential (GWP) analysis and it turns out the latest-generation Jeep Wrangler is the real winner here. When compared to the previous-generation Wrangler model, the all-new and redesigned Wrangler measured a GWP that’s 15 percent lower. “This is the outcome we expect when we launch a new vehicle. In all our processes, the mitigation of environmental impact is a baked-in consideration,” said Mitch Clauw, FCA Vice President and Head of Global Pre-Programs and Program Management.  Read the rest of this entry >>

Jeep Debuts 4xe Vehicles at CES 2020

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) kicks off on January 7th (2020) and is the designated place to be for new products and technologies in the consumer electronics industry. Attendees have the chance to explore three of Jeep’s upcoming plug-in hybrid models: the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, the Jeep Renegade 4xe, and the Jeep Compass 4xe. FCA is Making Changes to Its Development Process

Jeep customarily waits about a decade between the generations of its lineup, but if the next revamped models arrive in showrooms sooner, Jeep will have to thank its parent company — Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) — for that. It appears that in the midst of its current merge with French automotive giant Peugeot, FCA is looking to reorganize and refine its development process to get updated or new vehicles in showrooms faster. Harald Wester, Chief Technical Officer and executive chairman of Maserati, has been tasked to lead the FCA’s streamlined product development organization project. Coming Soon: A Jeep Museum

In the spirit of gifts and giving this holiday season, the non-profit organization ProMedica announced it had something in store that would surely lift the spirits of Jeep enthusiasts. ProMedica announced that there’s an all-new Jeep museum dedicated to the brand’s history in Toledo, Ohio, in the works. Referred to as The Jeep experience, the museum is slated to open in 2022 and will feature a massive display of historic artifacts and other pieces that make up Jeep history in a 56,000 square-foot facility located in Toledo’s downtown area.  Read the rest of this entry >>

Jeep Brings the Heat to the Magic City

Jeep is definitely bringing the heat to the Magic City, the brand introduced two new limited-edition production vehicles at the Miami Auto Show. Not only are these two new limited-edition vehicles stunning, but they’re both targeted specifically to local Miami Consumers. Jeep introduced the new Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator “Three O Five” Edition models based on the Sport S trims of each respective model. Only 305 units will be made (255 Wrangler vehicles and 50 Gladiator vehicles) and will feature Miami colors of either orange or white. New Leadership Announced For Jeep North America

There’s a new leader of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ (FCA) iconic Jeep brand for its most important market – the North American market. Jim Morrison, who was in charge of the Ram Trucks brand in North America, is now moving over to Jeep. It feels as if news about the upcoming Jeep Grand Wagoneer trickle out so slowly that it’s easy to forget Jeep has this ace up its sleeve.
