Miami Lakes Auto Mall Jeep Electric

Bringing the Big 8-0, Jeep commemorated 80 years of providing customers with the ability to “Go Anywhere. Do Anything”. For its anniversary, Jeep also dared to desire a zero-emission, fully electric Jeep 4xe in every SUV segment by 2025.

That’s right; several Jeep models will see the likes of an electric variation four years from now. The first battery-operated electric vehicle model will debut less than four years from now.

“We are fully committed towards a vision of a zero emission future, and by 2025 we will be offering a zero-emission fully electric Jeep 4xe in every SUV segment”. -Jeep Brand Chief Executive Officer, Christian Meunier

The Jeep Magneto EV Concept was also introduced during the celebration, confirming Jeep’s electrifying future.

The bustling automaker, preoccupied with the expanse of the plug-in hybrid lineup. The 4xe consists of – Jeep Renegade 4xe, Jeep Compass 4xe, and the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. China also exclusively received the 2019 Jeep Commander PHEV.

The Renegade 4xe and Compass 4xe were produced and sold in Europe. While the Wrangler 4xe is made in the US and also sold in Europe.

The next strides for Jeep will be onward into the future of the fifth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, the PHEV Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. But, unfortunately, the plug-in hybrid that would’ve premiered at the 2021 New York International Auto Show was canceled due to the Delta variant.

“Next in our exciting global product pipeline is the introduction of the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee, which will be equipped, for the first time, with plug-in-hybrid 4xe technology.” -Jeep Brand Chief Executive Officer, Christian Meunier

Anticipation Builds for the Newest Jeep Gladiator

Jeep continues to persevere as pioneers in a constantly evolving market. For example, Jeep now builds a desert racer in a market where the meanest off-road race machines can range from $500,000 to $1 million to make.

To be clear, the Gladiator does not compete with the likes of the 4×4 truck Larry Roeseler or “Mr.Baja,” used in the Baja 500. But the Jeep Gladiator Mojave is the first to don Jeep’s new Desert Rated badge. The Mojave withstands extreme heat and also the sands of desert racing.

While it is easy to compare the Mojave and the modified Rubicon, the upgrades are of two different worlds. Frames and axles are reinforced—the suspension system is designed for hard landings, and the suspension system includes a 1-inch front lift to support colossal wheel wells. Additionally, there are 33-inch Falken Wildpeak tires that enable climbing at accelerating speeds. The Rubicon only runs up to 30 mph in 4-Low, the Mojave up to 50 mph.

Even with the Mojave’s stamp of off-road durability, it’s still an incredible ride for commutes and weekend fun too. Mojaves steering is also pretty silent compared to the Rubicon, and that’s because the tire treads are designed specifically for sands.

Consumers shouldn’t be afraid of not turning heads as the midsize pickup displays a beautiful hood with faux scoop, the Mojave decal, orange tow hooks, and orange accents (similar to the blue accents on the new Wrangler 4xe).

The Mojave contains the same engine as the Gladiator, a 3.6-liter V-6 that produces 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. There are also different transmissions available: the 6-speed automatic and the 8-speed automatic. The 4-low also receives extra assistance from the 4WD transfer case by providing a taller ratio of 2.72:1. The Diesel variation of the Mojave was recently released, and it provides a 3.0-liter V-6 with 260 hp and a massive 442 lb-ft of torque.

Give the Mojave a little time, about 8.3 seconds worth, and she can go from 0 to 60 mph. Not the best, but don’t forget to add the sand. Shift into 4-Hi and tap the Off-Road+ button, and the sandy trail and dunes don’t stand a chance. Instead, consumers can coast as the system automatically adjusts the throttle, transmission, shift points, and traction control.

The New 2022 Jeep Compass

Miami Lakes Auto Mall Jeep Compass

The new Jeep Compass was unveiled at the 2021 Chicago Auto Show. The Compass welcomed consumers to a new premium design, all-new interior, advanced safety, and security features. Additionally, with an abundance of next-generation technology, the autonomous driving joint provides the most technically advanced Compass Jeep has ever made.

The Jeep Compass is available in five trims:

  • Sport
  • Latitude
  • Latitude LUX (New)
  • Limited
  • Trail Rated Trailhawk

On-Road Performance

It doesn’t matter where the Compass travels; whether off-roading on a trail or navigating through the busiest street, the Jeep Compass is equipped to deliver quality performance. Off-roading capabilities are powered by two advanced, intelligent 4×4 systems that can provide 100% torque to any specific wheel. The Power-transfer unit (PTU) and rear axle sustain the 4×4 models with better fuel economy than ever before. In addition, the Jeep Active Drive and Active Drive Low 4×4 systems engage at any given moment when 4×4 traction is needed.

Jeep Active Drive

Through the PTU, the Jeep Active Drive is fully automatic and a seamless operation no matter the speed. No driver interference is needed, whether in or out of the four-wheel drive. The active drive comes standard on the Sport, Latitude, and Limited 4×4 models. In addition, the Active Drive can emit up to 100% of the engine’s available torque to the rear wheels, which allow for optimum grip in conditions of low tractions.

Jeep Active Drive Low

The Active Drive Low provides a 20:1 crawl ratio. The Jeep Active Drive and Active Drive Low 4×4 systems include the Jeep Selec-Terrain system with four modes Auto, Snow, Sand, and Mud, with the Rock Mode being exclusive to the Trailhawk model.

Interior Craftsmanship

The 2022 Jeep Compass showcased a technologically advanced cabin that presents a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 center stack display and a 10.25-inch frameless full-color thin-film transistor (TFT) digital cluster. In addition, a team designed the interior of the Compass to ensure the compact SUV penetrates a premium experience not just outside but inside the cabin. Once inside the cab, the driver and passengers are welcomed to a new meaning of spaciousness.

The panel features a wrapped mid-pad, held by a sculpted, painted, or chrome-plated accent running the length of the panel, seemingly integrating slim HVAC vents. An appealing contrast sitting below the front panel highlights a painted or hydrographic applique adding textual richness. There’s also a Gloss Black center stack display that heightens the horizontal theme with either an 8.4-inch (entry-level) or 10.1-inch high-definition touchscreen. With the 10.1-inch screen being standard for the Latitude LUX, Trailhawk, and Limited.

The driver control center integrates several functional features. Starting with a streamlined cup holder, a new shift bezel with an integrated park brake, and a chrome-textured Selec-Terrain toggle. The front cabin also provides a USB Type-A and C port along with a wireless charging pad.

Decorative effects of the front cabin provide a slim headrest with heated and ventilated essentials. Heated seats will be available for second-row seating.HVAC vents are repositioned in the second row, and rear passengers will be able to access an optional 115-volt power outlet and up to two USB ports.

Black and Steel Grey interior with Sepia-wrapped accents on the mid-panel and doors adding a distinct finish to the Limited models. The front cabin’s door trim panels are soft to touch with an eye appeal to match. Redesigned door handles are 360-degrees, surrounding a Piano Black bezel.

Safety and Security Features

There are over 75 features to accompany the new Jeep Compass. Starting with the Highway Assist, a semi-autonomous driving system. The system utilizes multiple sensors, radars, and cameras, controlling the vehicle on approved highways.

Another new feature is Traffic Sign Recognition, and this feature displays the speed limit sign information to the driver. Traffic Sign Recognition will be available for the Limited, Trailhawk, and High Altitude models.

Pedestrian/Cyclist Automatic Emergency Braking comes standard in every Compass trim. Radar technology is used to identify potential frontal impacts. So when the system detects a pedestrian and senses a collision, it will activate the vehicle’s brakes if the driver does not respond.

A surround-view camera is available on the Latitude models above, offering a 360-degree, bird’s-eye view of the vehicle and its surroundings. In addition, the system is enhanced through ParkSense front and rear park assist. Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist are also available for the Limited, Trailhawk, and High Altitude models using ultrasonic sensors to guide the driver.

The Compass is scheduled to arrive in the US in the fall of 2021.

Autonomous Off-Roading Anyone? Jeep Says Yes!

Miami Lakes Auto Mall Jeep Wrangler 4Xe

On July 8th (2021), the parent company of Jeep, Stellantis, organized an EV day event. On this day, Jeep declared it would electrify every single model by 2025. Jeep already maintains the number 1 best-selling PHEV, the Jeep Wrangler 4Xe. But Stellantis stated the Wrangler would need to morph into an electric vehicle to survive far beyond this decade. Jeep didn’t unleash any fully EV vehicles for the event, but they did provide a detailed release video that promised an array of Electric Jeep’s.

The video begins with the very first Jeep; the 1945 CJ then comes the love story. In 2021, viewers follow two Jeep lovers hit with love at first sight at a solar charging station in the wilderness. Fast-forward to 2025, and the boyfriend proposes in a beautiful lake with an even more beautiful electric Wrangler in the background.

Two variations of the Jeep were presented during the video, the four-door and two-door Wrangler. When the two-door model receives some solo shine, viewers can see the words “Freedom” inscribed on the side of the hood. In addition, the text “Concept BEV model shown” is also captured at the bottom of the screen, which coincides with Jeep’s new slogan “Zero Emission Freedom,” which implies the vehicle has an electric powertrain.

There is a lot to take away from the 2025 scene. To begin, the future Wrangler will be equipped with biometric recognition. The lovely couple walks towards the vehicle, and it recognizes the boyfriend’s face, unlocks, and the Wrangler starts up. Peer-to-peer charging is also demonstrated when the girlfriend plugs the two-door into the four-door. The 2025 segment ends with the couple’s drone flying above, providing extra light on the nighttime off-road travel—another monumental scene to promote the future of Wrangler’s drone pairing capabilities.

After 2025 comes 2030, where the couple camps with the accompanying four-door model. While the couple is hiking, the four-door Wrangler is seen piloting through the off-road trails, to the amazement of a fellow Jeep owner driving in the opposite direction. This scene suggests the Wrangler will be proficient in autonomous off-roading by 2030. The final clip is the EV Jeep promoting flat-seat stargazing with the couple engulfed in each other watching the sky while the Jeep drives them to their destination.

“Future models and features may vary,” this is what Jeep annotates at the bottom of the screen to inform viewers that futuristic technology is not promised. Nevertheless, the video provides some insight into what could potentially be next for the Wrangler EV and gives viewers a taste of what off-roading may look like for the future.

The Newest Face of the Jeep Lineup is Making Waves

For a long time, Jeep limited its lineup to a few select models. Drivers became accustomed to the simplicity and narrowness of the Jeep brand, and were largely content with Jeep’s desire for complacency. Just as the American automotive industry got comfortable, Jeep decided to shake things up with all-new vehicle offerings. Stepping away from their three staple models – the Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Wrangler, Jeep took a bold step out of the box and introduced new models to its lineup. The newer models were not immediately accepted by die-hard Jeep enthusiasts, but the variety in the new lineup had the rest of car buyers intrigued. The iconic brand known for off-road capability, was winning over drivers who had never considered a Jeep vehicle in the past. Read the rest of this entry >>

Jeep Pickup Could Debut Sooner than Expected

red rock

A lot of buzz has been growing behind the idea of a Jeep pickup. Though Jeep CEO Mike Manley has previously said that he is a “big fan” of the idea of a Jeep pickup, he also said that Jeep had other priorities, including production of the new Jeep Wrangler. A Jeep pickup was not listed on Fiat Chrysler Automobile’s plan through at least 2018.

However, a pickup may be among the Jeeps for sale at local lots sooner than that. Manley now says that Jeep is considering producing a pickup at the same time as its next-generation Wrangler, which will be released in 2017.

With all the buzz around the idea, the company would be Read the rest of this entry >>

CEO Offers Hope to Those Who Want Jeep Pickup

gladiator

Jeeps have a lot in common with pickup trucks as both are rugged and dependable powerhouses. Yet Jeep doesn’t have the same cargo space as a pickup thanks to its shorter body and enclosed back.

Some lucky fans might get a nice surprise when they shop for Jeeps for sale in the coming years: A Jeep pickup that combines the best of both worlds.

Jeep CEO Mike Manley said that he was a “big fan” of the idea of a Jeep pickup truck, which fans have been buzzing about for some time. However, he said that while Jeep is looking into the options, there are no current plans for the development of a Jeep pickup. Fiat Chrysler Automobile has not listed a Jeep pickup in its production plan dating through 2018.
