Best Reasons to Buy A Used Jeep

2015 Wrangler

If you’re in the market for a used vehicle, definitely consider a pre-owned Jeep. Jeeps not only maintain their value and remain as impressive to drive and look at years later, they will remain that way until the end of time!

But you may have questions if a Jeep is for you. The first question you have to ask is will my investment pay off?

As an authority on used car values, Kelly Blue Book (KBB) knows the worth of Jeep vehicles. The 2017 Jeep Wrangler was ranked 4th of their Top 10 Best Resale cars of 2017. For their annual report, KBB listed the Jeep Wrangler on this list year after year. With over 75 years of craftsmanship, stellar engineering and unique versatility, every Jeep Wrangler is a great choice for a used vehicle. Kelly Blue Book even estimates that the 2017 Wrangler would return nearly 64 percent of it’s resale value after three years, over 51 percent over five years from purchasing. KBB analysts base their recommendation on average vehicle conditions with 75,000 miles reached after five years.

If you’re looking for adventure and a vehicle that can take you where you want to go, a Jeep makes sense. If your lifestyle includes any bit of off-roading or adventure seeking, a Jeep vehicle really makes sense.

For drivers with long commutes, there’s certainly better options for fuel economy in their respective classes than the Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Cherokee, but the fun of owning one and the comfort of both refined technology inside and the rugged ability a Jeep provides offer much to enjoy.

There are many reasons why the Jeep brand is ultimately popular. From ambitious vehicles with character and iconic designs, and very low upkeep costs to maintain a Jeep running strongly, consider the Jeep a great choice for your next car.

When buying any used vehicle, you want to shop with confidence and knowing where to shop is important. You don’t have to take our word for it, you can experience for yourself the fun and pending adventure awaiting you in a pre-owned Jeep vehicle at Miami Lakes Automall.

Explore with Jeep’s Available 4×4 Systems

2016 Jeep® Renegade Trailhawk

Almost all Jeep models come either standard with or the option of a 4X4 system for additional off-road help. With that being said, there are many different systems (some of which come with multiple Jeep models). Looking to learn more about the systems and which Jeep’s they come with? Check it out!

Active Drive Systems

There are a couple different types of Active Drive Systems and they are available on 4×4 Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass models. The Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass are available with the same two Active Drive 4×4 Systems, and the Cherokee has its own Active Drive Systems.

With the exception of the Renegade Trailhawk and Compass Trailhawk trims, all 4×4 Renegade and Compass models are equipped with the Active Drive 4X4 System. Built to improve performance on a variety of terrains thanks to the adjustable Selec Terrain Traction Management System, the Active Drive 4×4 System is also user-friendly because actively transitions from four-wheel-drive to front-wheel drive, and that makes all models more efficient whether in the city or on the trail.

Built to be specialty off-road vehicles, the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk and Jeep Compass Trailhawk are both equipped with the Active Drive Low 4×4 system, which is a more advanced system than the Active Drive 4×4 System. With Active Drive 4×4 Low System, the Selec-Terrain Traction Management System features an additional sixth setting (rock) and it offers a 20:1 crawl ratio, which is a great feature for those that often drive on rocky terrain.

The Jeep Cherokee is offered with several Active Drive options including Active Drive I, II, and Lock 4X4. This Active Drive I system is in place to engage four-wheel drive mode when needing (rain, snow, ice, etc.). The system monitors wheels slippage and applies torque to needed wheels when necessary. The Active Drive II system has all the features Active Drive I has and it also has a low mode for extra low-speed traction. Finally, the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk comes standard with Active Drive Lock system and that means the vehicle has a mechanical rear axle lock and Selec-Terrain rock mode.

Command-Trac + Rock-Trac

Command-Trac and Rock-Trac are the available 4×4 systems on the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The Command-Trac system comes with a transfer case that helps protect the vehicle’s most important equipment from being damaged by water or debris or other objects. The Rock-Trac system is exclusive to the Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon trims. The Rock-Trac system offers more torque and a 4:1 gear ration, which is an important feature for drivers that like to go rock crawling.

Quadra-Trac Systems

Finally, the Grand Cherokee has four different Quadra-Driver/Trac systems available. The systems include the Quadra-Drive II 4X4 system, Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Trac SRT systems. Available Quadra-Drive II with a rear electronic limited slip differential is a full time active 4X4 system. The system transfers as much torque needed to a wheel(s) for all-weather capability. The Quadra-Trac one system is also in place for all-weather capability and comes with a brake lock differential. Next up, the Quadra-Trac II 4×4 system comes with the same features as well as the available selec-terrain system, and a standard two-speed low transfer case.

Whether you like to go explore on the weekends, take adventurous road trips to mountains in the summer or you just like to occasionally get dirty and go mudding at one of the recreational parks in Florida, Jeep has something for everyone. Find a new Jeep with the 4X4 features and systems that you need today!

Differences Between 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL and Wrangler JK

Miami Lakes Auto 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL

Earlier this month, the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show took place, and that’s when the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL officially debuted. Sure, there have been spy photos and leaked information, but all of that was just a piece of the pie compared to everything we learned at the show. Can’t wait to learn all about it? We have a page dedicated to the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL. Otherwise, here’s some of the highlights as well as the differences one can expect between the next-generation all-new 2018 Wrangler JL and the 2018 Wrangler JK.

Let’s Talk Powertrains

The Wrangler JK is only available with one engine (3.6L Pentastar V6 engine), whether it is the Wrangler or Wrangler Unlimited. That same engine returns to the Wrangler JL model, but it’s been tweaked a little bit. The new tweaked engine is able to generate up to 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, and it can be paired to the standard six-speed manual transmission or the new available eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine also comes standard with electric start-stop (ESS), a technology to conserve fuel while the engine idles. With this tech, consumers can expect their Jeep Wrangler JL to have an average fuel economy of 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway if paired to the manual transmission; otherwise it’s 18 mpg in the city with the automatic transmission.
