The Jeep Compass Trailhawk or Limited – Which is your Jeep?

jeep compass or limited miami lakes automall

The all-new Jeep Compass comes in four trim levels. The two trims on the higher end of the trim scale include the Compass Trailhawk and Limited and they are loaded with modern amenities but they have some major differences. Which of these 2018 Compass trims are for you?

When it comes down to it the best way to decide which of these trims is for you is to decide how you are going to use the vehicle. Are you looking for fun and adventure or do you want a luxurious yet affordable daily driver? If you are looking to tear that trails up, the Compass Trailhawk is for you (of course), but if you want a luxury style SUV, you will want to check out the Compass Limited.

These vehicles do have some similarities when it comes to technology, style, performance and more. However in each of these categories they both also have some major differences. Standard interior features like a 60/40 split folding seat, dual zone A/C control, a leather wrapped shift knob, and steering wheel mounted audio controls are all included with both models. A leather interior, heated seats, a power 8-way driver seat, and a heated steering wheel are standard with the Compass Limited. Standard interior features of the Compass Trailhawk include premium cloth and leather trimmed seats, all-weather floor mats, and red interior stitching.

Roots of the Famous Jeep Brand

history of jeep miami lakes automall

The Jeep brand is well-known for many reasons and some of the most popular include the brand’s rugged and unique style, but there is a lot more to Jeep than what meets the eye. Our favorite part about the Jeep brand is its history and its impact on the automotive industry.

The Jeep brand originated in the early ‘40s and the first Jeep vehicle was built by Willys-Overland and it was called the Willys MB Jeep. This Jeep was produced in 1941 and it was built specifically for military use during World War II. It was this original model that gave roots to the Wrangler today. The Willys MB Jeep is typically shown with no roof or doors, but some models did have a thin roof. The Willys MB also came standard with a 4×4 drivetrain, a slotted vertical grill and round headlights — sound familiar?  That 4×4 drivetrain made the Willys MB Jeep the first mass produced 4×4 vehicle.

After the war in 1945, Willys-Overland began making Willys CJ models. CJ was the perfect name for these vehicles as it stood for “civilian Jeep.” It was in the pursuit to make the CJ model that led to the birth of the seven-slot grille, which is the same grille used on every Jeep model. Willys MB models had a nine-slot vertical grille, which was actually a design borrowed from Ford, so to be able to get the grille trademarked, Willys-Overland made the grille a seven-slot grille. Five years after the first production of the Willys CJ, Willys-Overland was able to trademark the name “Jeep” and make it their own. Read the rest of this entry >>

No Real Competition with the 2017 Jeep Compass

miami lakes jeep compass

Sure the all-new 2017 Jeep Compass has “competitors”, but we use that term very loosely! No other CUV can beat the off-road capability of the Jeep Compass. In addition, the Compass offers a great price that stacks up very well when compared to similar vehicles, standard features that are considered upgrades with similar models, and so much more.

Some competitors of the Jeep Compass include Toyota Rav4, Kia Sportage, Ford Escape and Nissan Rogue. The list goes on, but no matter how you slice it, the Compass is truly unbeatable. Most of these SUVs come with the option of all-wheel drive, but most don’t have the option of four-wheel drive and none have an off-road system like the Compass Trailhawk.

Reasons the Compass beats the competition:

Performance and Capability – The standard engine for the Jeep Compass is a 2.4-liter I4 MultiAir engine that produces up to 180 horsepower. The standard drivetrain for the Compass is two-wheel drive, but as previously mentioned there are some trims available in four-wheel drive (the Compass Trailhawk and Limited trims). The engine allows for up to 1,000 pounds of towing, so pop those jet skis on the back and head to the water!

Jeep Wrangler Trailcat Concept Recently Spotted Driving Around

2019 jeep trailcat spotted

Remember the Jeep Wrangler Trailcat concept from the 2016 Easter Jeep Safari? It was spotted on the streets recently, so we’re taking a walk down memory lane to remember it and all of its glory.

The Jeep Wrangler Trailcat is a beefed up Wrangler with the same supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 Hellcat engine in the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models. Yep, a 707-horsepower engine in a Jeep.

In addition to the super powerful engine, the Wrangler Trailcat has similar features to Jeep Trailhawk models. Other features on the Trailcat model include 39.5-inch Krawler T/A tires, a 12-inch larger wheelbase than a standard Wrangler model, a six-speed manual transmission, a vented hood, LED headlights, a roll cage, and so much more. Just look at it! Read the rest of this entry >>
