Battle of the Subcompact SUVs: 2016 Jeep Renegade V. 2016 Honda HRV

2016 Renegade V. 2016 HRV

In the ever-growing demands of today’s SUV consumers, there rises a new list. As kids grow into adults and generations progress, the needs and wants also change. This new generation has prompted the automotive industry to create an entirely new segment of SUVs: the subcompact SUV.

While Jeep remains one of the originators of the SUV, you may have noticed while searching for Jeeps for sale that they, too, have a contender in the subcompact SUV segment: the Renegade. While it’s 7-slotted grille, round headlights, and boxy shape are irrefutably “Jeep”, it’s certainly unique in its own right.

2016 Jeep Renegade Named Consumer Guide’s Best Buy

2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk

Recently, Consumer Guide named the 2016 Jeep Renegade their Best Buy. As the newest edition to the Jeep family, this news is coming as a very welcomed surprise. Not only has Jeep renewed their devotion to their classics, Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee, but the Renegade has a design all its own, totally separate from any other Jeep style.

Jeep’s Newest Family Member Already A “Best Buy”

It’s worth noting that the Miami Jeep Renegade started its journey only a year ago and in that year has managed to impress the good people at Consumer Guide enough to recommend it as a Best Buy.

Why is this?

The Newest Face of the Jeep Lineup is Making Waves

For a long time, Jeep limited its lineup to a few select models. Drivers became accustomed to the simplicity and narrowness of the Jeep brand, and were largely content with Jeep’s desire for complacency. Just as the American automotive industry got comfortable, Jeep decided to shake things up with all-new vehicle offerings. Stepping away from their three staple models – the Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Wrangler, Jeep took a bold step out of the box and introduced new models to its lineup. The newer models were not immediately accepted by die-hard Jeep enthusiasts, but the variety in the new lineup had the rest of car buyers intrigued. The iconic brand known for off-road capability, was winning over drivers who had never considered a Jeep vehicle in the past. Read the rest of this entry >>

Why the “Smaller” Jeep Renegade is a “Big” Deal

Some consumers may underestimate the capabilities of the Jeep Renegade considering the vehicle’s size. Built on the same platform as the Fiat 500L compact (the two vehicles are actually built alongside each other), the vehicle has always been known for being a bit smaller than the brand’s other vehicles. As Will Sabel Courtney of the New York Daily News writes, the engineers compacted their vehicle even more for the 2016 model year, reducing the size of the “round headlights, seven-bar grille, squared-off edges.” The vehicle’s exterior measurements trail many of the other Jeeps, as the Renegade offers a 74.2-inch width, 66.5-inch height, 166.6-inch length and a 101.2-inch wheelbase.

Despite the smaller size, the Renegade is still regarded as an excellent vehicle. In fact, it offers some unexpected capabilities that you’d often expect from a much bigger compact SUV. You’ll be quite impressed when you learn everything the Renegade has to offer, and we wouldn’t be shocked if you decide to pursue the Jeep in Miami

How the 1940 Ford Pilot Evolved Into Today’s Jeep

1940 Ford Pilot-2

The 1940 Ford Pilot Model GP-No. 1 Pygmy was recently added to the Historic Vehicle Association’s National Historic Vehicle Register, the eighth vehicle to make the list. However, as Larry Edsall of explains, the vehicle isn’t necessarily regarded as a ‘Ford’ as much as it is as a ‘Jeep.’

You won’t find this Jeep for sale (unless the current owner decides to put it up for bid), but you can still appreciate the story of how the vehicle evolved into a completely separate brand…

Jeep Unveils Commemorative Red Rocks Concept

2016 red rocks

Every spring, members of Red Rocks 4-Wheelers Club flock to the deserts of Utah as instinctively as the wild salmon of Capistrano, during the week-long Easter Jeep Safari. There to celebrate all things Jeep, the attendees take to the trails of the Moab desert, scaling rock walls and climbing boulders. As the 2016 year approaches, so does the 50th Anniversary of the Easter Jeep Safari. Commemorating the anniversary, Jeep produced a concept wrangler for just this occasion: the Red Rocks Rubicon.

The aptly named Wrangler was unveiled at this year’s SEMA show in LA and was met with certain praise as Jeep has yet to disappoint in its concepts, especially on doting fans. Fixing the already rugged and extremely hard body of the Rubicon Hard Rock with multiple accessories, Mopar was more than pleased to get in on the excitement of adding to this commemorative concept. Before you get too excited, Miami, Jeep has announced they will only be producing 50 Red Rock editions. Production on this very limited edition is slated to start next year, just in time for the anniversary.
