An Impressive Trio: Three New Trucks At Your Dodge Ram Dealer
Truck lovers know the search for a quality pickup can be a challenge. It's not easy to find that perfect balance between style and reliable performance - either drivers feel as though they're short-changing style for the power they need, or vice versa. Luckily, Ram has come to the rescue with its excellent line of new trucks.
Available in three levels - the 1500, 2500, and 3500 - the new line of trucks from Ram represent the best of the best of what the industry has to offer. If you haven't been over to the Dodge Ram dealer at Miami Lakes Auto Mall yet to see these trucks or yourself, then here's a little piece of what you're missing.
The 1500 - A Solid Foundation
First on the block is the foundation, the Ram 1500. This is the starting point for this impressive truck line and, like all good things, it's the solid foundation that keeps the whole thing up and running.
This truck is built to handle those everyday tasks that pickup drivers have come to depend on Ram trucks for. On the worksite, the 1500 operates as a dependable daily driver and a powerful muscle for the big jobs.
Boasting an impressive lineup of trims with varying degrees of style and performance capabilities, the 1500 relies on the power of its 3.6L Pentastar V6 standard engine to set the tone for the entire Ram truck lineup. This impressive block can reach up to 20 miles per gallon city and 28 miles per gallon highway, all with a maximum towing capacity of 10,650 lbs and a max payload of 1,880 lbs. For most, that's plenty of power to tackle the tough jobs on the work site - and with a standard Class IV receiver hitch and available rear vision camera, you'll see that the 1500 was made just for that reason.
Available in Regular, Quad, or Crew cab sizes, this truck proudly features bold design lines with a striking, muscular profile. The angular front fascia and imposing stance will definitely leave its mark on any who lay eyes on it. The most basic trim, the Tradesman, features all of these most basic features in one powerful machine.
Although standard with the Pentastar engine, the Tradesman trim also comes in an EcoDiesel HFE edition, boasting Ram's 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine. With this, the 1500 can run an estimated 21 mpg city and 29 mpg highway on clean diesel while still pulling off almost 8,000 lbs in maximum towing capacity. This diesel edition also features active grille shutters and standard 20-inch wheels for added efficiency.
For those who opt for more than the basic Tradesman trim will find a huge amount of trims and options to make a truck that fits every need. The Ram 1500 Express - also available in a blacked-out special edition - offers Ram's incredible 5.7L Hemi V8 engine, as well as added amenities like Ram's UConnect infotainment system with a 5-inch touchscreen standard and available dual exhaust system. The 1500 Express is also available as an EcoDiesel HFE model, capable of 21 city and 29 highway mpg. Those looking for even more premium amenities, including a standard leather-wrapped steering wheel and available heated seats, should try the Big Horn trim level as well.
Off-roaders and outdoorsmen also have a few choices for specialized trims: the Outdoorsman and the Rebel editions. The Outdoorsman, marketed toward hunters for its plethora of available storage options, the option of the 5.7L Hemi engine, and available UConnect with Wi-Fi capabilities that make this the perfect tool for any hunting season. The Rebel, on the other hand, boasts a distinctly tough style, with a premium and stylized interior and plenty of chrome accents on the exterior. Between the roar of its standard Hemi engine and its halogen projector headlamps, the Rebel edition definitely lets you show your distinctive style on the road.
Take everything great about the Rebel edition, add a class-exclusive available active-level four corner air suspension system for superior driveability, dual exhaust system, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen and you've got the impressive Sport edition, made for those truck lovers who want to be as comfortable on the backroads as they are in the safety of their driveway.
Those seeking serious top-level comfort mixed with the same high-quality performance should look no further than the Laramie trims. On the Laramie Ram 1500, drivers can expect everything great about the lower trims, plus added features like standard heated leather-trimmed seats, a standard nine-speaker audio system with subwoofer, standard 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels, the available 5.7L Hemi engine, and the air suspension system. The Laramie Longhorn trim takes this even further with standard leather upholstery, wood accents on the interior, and the air-suspension system and Hemi engine standard as well.
Finally, there's the king of the hill: The Ram 1500 Limited. Class personified, this trim level features the best the 1500 has to offer - between the standard Hemi engine capable of 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, 10,360 lbs maximum towing capacity, an all-black premium interior, a redesigned tailgate, standard sidesteps, and all of the available UConnect, air-suspension, and cargo management systems found on lower trim levels. The Limited is truly the best the Ram trucks have to offer, and those looking for the best of the best need look no further.
These are the best iterations the Ram 1500 has to offer. If you want anything more, or any added features, there's only one way to go - up.
The 2500 - A Serious Step Up
The Ram 2500 seems like a highly underappreciated middle child - stuck between two great options, but not regularly recognized for the strong showing it really gives in its own right. The Ram 2500 takes all of the best elements of the 1500 and supercharges them, making optional features standard and offering significant upgrades in performance, power and style.
At its most basic level, this means making the 5.7L HEMI engine standard across the board through all trim levels. Even the basic Tradesman 2500 model, with upgraded standard halogen headlamps and an improved 18,000-lb Class V trailer tow hitch, can pull up to 17,890 lbs in maximum towing capacity and can handle a nearly 4,000 lb payload. That's a serious upgrade over the 1500 - without a serious hit to your wallet.
Other upgrades include power doors, folding bench seats, and power sliding rear windows on the SLT 2500 - the upgraded version of the 1500 Express - as well as standard trailer brake control and a 12-Volt power outlet. The Big Horn 2500 bumps this to a 115-Volt outlet, and also adds the 8.4-inch touchscreen with UConnect navigation. Standard fog lamps and an anti-rear spin differential on the wheels put this edition well ahead of its 1500 counterpart, while remote starters and premium materials do the same for the Laramie and Limited trims.
The 2500 also introduces the Power Wagon trim line, featuring Ram's legendary 6.4L HEMI V8 engine to really ratchet up performance. Available in standard, Tradesman, or Laramie styles, this line includes a standard electric winch and Tru-Lok front and rear axles for the ultimate off-roading capabilities.
The 2500 is a highly impressive step up from its younger brother, but there's one step further that serious truck lovers can still take: the mighty 3500.
The 3500 - Everything And Much More
For its premium truck line, Ram has certainly pulled out all the stops. The 3500 line opens up nearly all of the line's most premium features for each of its models, with even the Tradesman 3500 coming standard with the 5.7L HEMI engine, and even offering the 6.4L HEMI for an unbelievable 31,210 lbs of maximum towing capacity and a 7,390 lb maximum payload.
This, and just about every other 3500 trim, also offers an available 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel engine for improved efficiency on clean diesel. Unlike its lower-level siblings, the 3500 also features available 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options to give the driver even more control over how your 3500 handles. Add in premium amenities, like rain-sensitive wipers and automatic high beams on the 3500 Limited, and you've got the best the Ram truck line has to offer.
