Since the Pacifica Hybrid is a PHEV, it has a battery that is large enough to power the minivan on only electricity, but when the battery is depleted it needs to be recharged. The Pacifica Hybrid can be recharged in two hours when it is hooked up to a 240-volt outlet and when the Pacifica Hybrid is hooked up to a 120-volt outlet, which is commonly found in homes, it takes about 14 hours to fully recharge. The Pacifica Hybrid is equipped with regenerative braking, which recycles energy used by the brakes to stop the car into energy to charge the battery.
