Although there are six trims in the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica lineup - Pacifica L, LX, Touring Plus, Touring L, Touring L Plus, and Limited - they are all powered by one engine. Under the hood of each is a 287hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine optimized with variable valve timing (VVT) technology for better performance and fuel efficiency and able to produce 262 lb-ft of torque. All trims but the base, L, come with “Electric Start-Stop” (ESS) technology, that helps to conserve fuel when the engine is idle.
Fuel Economy and Towing
Minivans aren’t known for fuel efficiency, but the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica minivan comes with its own class-exclusive TorqueFlite nine-speed automatic transmission. With the same engine and transmission across the lineup, that’s a fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway for every trim. 262 lb-ft of torque may not sound like much, but the Pacifica can also tow up to 3,600 pounds. Now that’s a powerful minivan.
Looking for style in a minivan? The Pacifica does come with a couple of options, such as the choice to add on a black or chrome stow ‘n place roof rack for making better use of the Pacifica’s cargo capacity, or the optional running boards and splash guards by Mopar to add a little more style and functionality. Of course, if looking for some fresh air on the road, the Pacifica Limited comes with a tri-pane panoramic sunroof, standard.
Many convenient exterior features can also be found on the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, such as automatic headlamps, heated exterior mirrors, manual sliding doors, and 17-inch wheels - all standard features. Other available features consist of auto-adjusting mirrors (in reverse), exterior mirrors with memory, a hands-free power liftgate, and hands-free power sliding doors. Select Pacifica trims may be able to ride on 18-inch or 20-inch wheels, and there are a total of eight body color choices.
Starting with the basics, cloth-trimmed bucket seats for the first and second row and a cloth-trimmed bench seat for the third row are the standard, but leather upholstery is an available option on select trims (Touring L, Touring L Plus, and Limited). And remember the new Pacifica Touring Plus trim, a mid-tier trim that comes with cloth upholstery for consumers who still want a little more comfort and convenience but prefer cloth versus animal leather.
Seating configurations for passengers and cargo are a plenty in the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. With seating for seven or eight passengers and standard features like a 60/40 fold-in-floor third row, second- and third-row Stow ‘n Go seats, and Stow ‘n Assist, there are many seating configurations consumers can use when choosing between seating and cargo capacity. For added convenience and comfort, the Pacifica also comes standard with sunscreen glass to keep the cabin from heating up, as well as keyless enter ‘n go technology. Other available features throughout the lineup include driver seat memory, ventilated and heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, triple zone automatic air conditioning, second and/or third row window shades to block out the sun, an acoustic windshield, and a remote start system. Consumers have the choice of two colors or two color combinations to give the interior some personal style, depending on the options for that trim.
Man, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles really packed the Chrysler Pacifica with a good setup. The basic sound system may come with six speakers, but throughout the lineup are options for a 13 Alpine speaker system, a 20 Harman Kardon speaker system, or a 20-speaker Harman Kardon sound group for surround sound. All 2018 Chrysler Pacifica trims come with active noise cancellation, a 7-inch touchscreen powered by the 4th generation Uconnect system, Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capability, and integrated voice command with Bluetooth technology. 3-channel wireless headphones, an 8.4 touchscreen, a Blu-Ray DVD Player, seatback video screens, SiriusXM Radio, Uconnect 4 with navigation, and the Uconnect theater package are available on select Pacifica trims.
Safety Features and Warranty
Consumers can find the following safety features on all 2018 Chrysler Pacifica trims: advanced multistage front airbags, a drivers knee airbag, supplemental front seat-mounted and side-curtain airbags (in all rows), a ParkView rear back-up camera, and a sliding door alert warning that sounds when the sliding door is opening and closing, a LATCH-ready child seat anchor system, and an occupant classification system that turns off the passenger seat airbag if no passenger is detected. Depending on the Pacifica trim, consumers may find a 360-degree surround view camera system, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, advanced brake assist, blind spot and cross path detection, full speed forward collision warning plus, and lane departure warning plus.
All 2018 Chrysler Pacifica trims are covered by a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, and a 5-year/unlimited-mile rust-through warranty.
