NASCAR Removed Dodge’s Fastest Car Once Half A Century Ago

History reminds us sometimes when humans are too successful; one such example is the Dodge Daytona that was once banned by NASCAR for simply being too fast. Now, in the 1960’s NASCAR and racing was widely popular and successful, so how could a vehicle that was just as remarkable face any restrictions? The Dodge Daytona car hit speeds over 200 mph and was no longer allowed to compete in NASCAR event racing. This was first done by legendary NASCAR driver Buddy Baker who was the one to go over 200 miles per hour on March 24, 1970, at the famed Talladega racing track. After that, the Dodge Daytona proceeded to win six more races. After this success, NASCAR officials were left with no choice but alter the rules to ban cars with certain attributes, like the huge wing these Dodge vehicles held. New aero rules were put in place by 1971, but vehicles like the 1969 Dodge Daytona were able to seriously earn some speedy races before winning and taking out all the competition.

Dodge Removed From NASCAR After Success

With the rear stabilizer wing, fender-mounted cooling scoops for braking, and a sheet metal cowl over the front grille, this was a vehicle built for game-changing speed. Keep in mind, the 1969 Dodge Daytona did that with style as the rules changed to prohibit this vehicle from hitting the race track. Dodge and Plymouth were the two brands that were told they could not use their vehicles to race competitively. The Superbird from Plymouth was the other aero-vehicle that was completely banned at all NASCAR events. They were simply ahead of their time, but now Dodge has found a path to get customers interested in reliving their winning ways with faster than ever vehicles and a modern touch tossed in as well to boot. Don’t forget, Dodge loves their special edition throwbacks built on their modern platform

Looking Back At the 1969 Dodge Daytona and Most Recent Daytona Offering

Readers should note, the 1969 Dodge Daytona was one of only 500 vehicles produced and can find prices that cost over $150,000 MSRP now. Dodge paid homage to the iconic Daytona racing cars of that era with an available special-edition 2020 Dodge Charger Daytona widebody muscle car with the newest platform getting a unique Daytona appearance. This new Dodge Charger package arrived with a price tag over $110,000 MSRP, but for those looking for them, they were quite a rare discovery. Just as unique as the 1969 Daytona is to find today. The folks at Mecum Auctions and businesses like theirs are where drivers look to find these restored classics, but for those that want to own the most aggressive and new Dodge vehicles, rush to Miami Lakes Automall today to get the process started.

Interested in checking out how a Dodge Charger looks and feels? A test-drive is all some customers need to have to understand the intensity and fun of a Dodge muscle car. Dodge Promotes A Slew of Sleek New Appearance Packages

Dodge has been doing rather well lately, but they aren’t stopping with new rollouts any time soon. Dodge is ready to push sales towards their Dodge Charger and Challenger. The 2022 Dodge muscle car lineup will receive new styling packages that include the HEMI Orange and SRT Black Package appearance packages. The 2022 Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger look extra sleek with the dry-paint job with a unique single line that goes off center from the front bumper to the back bumper. The distinctive look of the HEMI Orange adds orange accents outside the muscle car with full-length outstretched orange accent stripe. Orange stitching can be observed on the flat-bottom steering wheel, console lid, instrument panel, across the doors and armrests, plus the shifter boot. There’s one more package that is also a particularly popular choice for Dodge muscle car drivers.

Go Widebody For Greater Grip + Additional Style

Owners can opt for a Scat Pack Widebody package that includes orange Brembo six-piston calipers that are matched with carbon black 20-inch Warp Speed wheels. The theme and detail provided with these packages are a throwback to the 1950s classic HEMI engine vehicles. Customers will note the bolstered seating has the embroidered Dodge logos. The Scat Pack Widebody includes a “392” added to the instrumental panel as a badge and costs $1,500. The black-out interior accents are found on the vent rings and the cup holders as well. Both the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger offer the “Widebody” trim treatment.

Owners can opt for the SRT Black package that will turn the SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye trims into even more sharp and sophisticated looking muscle cars. The SRT Black appearance kit is just $695 and Dodge has announced the Dodge Durango SRT will gain this package as well. The SRT exterior badging is found on the fender, grille, as well as on an added spoiler or decklid piece for the Charger.

Not Just Attractive, Wicked Fast, Too

The styling only helps owners decide to go with one of these options. After all, the performance is already high-octane and invigorating for drivers as the remarkable handling makes all the difference. That difference is helping Dodge move ahead of rival brands as sales have gone higher and surpassed the Mustang so far in 2021. Dodge Showcases Latest SUV Option Set For Mexico And More?

New Dodge vehicles are ready at the premiere Dodge Dealer superstore in South Florida located at Miami Lakes Automall. There’s a reason our customers come to us to experience new Dodge muscle cars, SUVs, and service their vehicles with our service team. The landscape of fastest and impressive muscle cars might seem like a dream come true when spectators look back at the current line-up offered today. As electric vehicles become more the center of the attention, with Dodge announcing the future including a new EV option for their muscle car lineup by 2024, we are witnessing the glory days of gasoline vehicles. Dodge might have doubled down on providing an electrified experience for the future, but today we can offer reasons why owning a new Dodge muscle car is the right choice for customers that want the thrill of a heart-racing performance vehicle that comes with impressive handling and power.

The Most Important Facts When Car Buying

The most impressive facts for new car shoppers to take note of when buying a vehicle; checking to see if there are awards that showcase how responsible a brand is at providing excellence from day one of vehicle ownership. Among those vehicles, Dodge is actually ahead of nearly every other automotive brand earning the top spot in 2020 and 2nd place finish in 2021 according to J. D. Power’s Initial Quality Study. This is just one important step to take note of when buying a vehicle.

Another Dodge SUV Coming Soon

Dodge goes the extra lengths to provide customers with the newest technologies and equipping the newest Dodge muscle car lineup with an enhanced product line. Fans and buyers alike are more than likely happier than most owners of new vehicles. The current generation of Dodge muscle cars (both the Charger and Challenger) are currently finishing the last few years of the third-generation. However, we know the brand is seeing record sales for these muscle cars. The Dodge brand has recently shown hints and development photos of a new SUV aimed at the Mexican and South American market. The new Dodge SUV is rooted from the GAC GS5 SUV that is produced by Stellantis (parent company of Dodge) and sold in China only. The GAC GS5 can be found in some South American countries and has a sturdy turbocharged 1.5-Liter four-cylinder engine that nets owners 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque.

Could we see this new SUV arrive in the United States? While we have a fond place for the beloved Dodge Challenger product and invite our readers to come check out all the latest Dodge vehicles ready for a test-drive, we would love to see another vehicle join the Dodge Durango in the SUV segment. We are looking at a price range that is lower than the Durango in those markets. The Durango sells for $44,000 MSRP (Plus destination fee) for the South American countries that will receive the next Dodge SUV. The Dodge crossover segment lost the Dodge Journey, but time will tell if we see an American version of the newest Dodge SUV.

Dodge, Stellantis Earn Top Spot On J.D. Power IQS For 2021

With the future of the Dodge brand moving towards electric vehicles, 2021 might go down as one of the fastest flying years on record, along with the record amount of Atlantic tropical storms. After last year’s seemingly never-ending to now being in the last season before 2022, we’ve come quite a long way. And during this whole experience, the Dodge brand has earned results to inspire buyers while hoisting another award. This time the trophy comes from the 2021 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study that lists Dodge as the brand that finishes second on a list that includes all the top automotive brands. Dodge won the top spot last year and isn’t far off this year. A 223-question study was given to new car owners who felt the most positive and pleasant initial encounter was with these brands. Each year, this survey helps new car shoppers reflect on their experience with a vehicle over the course of the first few months of ownership.

“If you start with strong design, and follow that up with discipline on the plant floor, you get the kind of results we’re seeing today,” metro Detroit native Mark Champine, head of North America customer experience at Stellantis, said in a news release.

Into the Numbers of 2021 J.D. Power’s IQS

Each year, this J.D. Power survey helps new car shoppers reflect on their experience with a vehicle over the course of the first few months of ownership (the first ninety days of ownership to be specific). This is when problems should least likely appear and buyers want to know what to expect; if any problems appear, what they liked most, and other important aspects of purchasing a vehicle. Based on the problems listed per 100 vehicles, the system includes ways to gauge gain information on serious mechanical issues to problems with the infotainment system. Dodge owners only experience 139 complaints per 100 vehicles. The survey includes tens of thousands of responses each year. A big issue is smartphone connectivity across many brands.

“They’ve done a particularly good job of preventing problems from occurring. The key is design quality. Most of the problems people report are not because vehicles aren’t built properly. The majority of problems are because vehicles aren’t designed properly or with the customer in mind. Often, the factories get the rough end of this. There is a problem with the navigation system, for instance. The assembly plants are responsible just for installing it into the vehicle. It’s not their fault the navigation system doesn’t work,” said David Sargent, vice president of automotive quality at J.D. Power, told the Free Press.

Dodge Showing Off More Details Involving Electric Vehicle Plans

Fratzog Miami Lakes Automall

With the future of the Dodge brand moving towards electric vehicles, we have a tight window of time before the fastest Dodge options may actually be electrified! While we are excited for the changes, we are also tempted to tell our customers to snag up the Dodge collection as it currently exists. The high-octane Dodge muscle cars like the Dodge Charger and Challenger are exceptional beasts with their available V8 powertrains. The new muscle cars that are going to be made by 2024 will include the entirely electric Dodge vehicle. There are reports that the EV might carry the “Fratzog” logo for all electric vehicles. The Fratzog is a made up word by a designer first used in 1962 through 1976 by the brand. We saw the Dodge brand bring this logo back when unveiling the 2021 EV Day. The concept vehicle has drawn a large amount of interest from fans. One fan is actually the CEO of Dodge, Tim Kuniskis.

“It damn near looks like something that Doc Brown would have done. It looks very futuristic and electrified, and it’s our history, which is what we do,” said Tim Kuniskis. Referring to Doc Brown, the well-known fictional character from Back to the Future.

What Dodge Vehicle Will Gain the EV Treatment First?

We have only seen teasers of what this vehicle will be as well as no clue what the nameplate that will carry this upcoming, first-ever Dodge EV. Perhaps the Dodge Challenger will gain the EV, but we can’t say for certain. Keep in mind that the Challenger body has remained the same since the brand brought the vehicle back in 2008; this is the same for the Charger since 2006. Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, has invested upwards of $35.5 billion through 2035 for electric vehicles, which will include plug-in and hybrid vehicles. A plug-in hybrid is due out next year, so we are about a year from seeing this Dodge vehicle hit stores.Dodge understandably won’t just become an EV company solely or have their branding focus solely on EVs.

“We don’t want them to look radically different because we want you all to be part of the same thing. So, we said, ‘OK,’ if you have electrification in your car, we don’t want you to be screaming, ’I have electrification,” Kuniskis said, referring to Dodge’s “Brotherhood of Muscle” community.

We Are the Right Place to Get Your Vehicle Serviced

Shopping for a new or pre-owned vehicle is something we can help with, but our readers should also know about the care we can give Dodge vehicles. We are here to help, not just with selling a vehicle, but with servicing vehicles as well. Compared to small shops that might not be able to impress, we are ready to transform vehicles into the healthy rides they should be this summer and beyond at our service center. Let us look at the main reasons to go to us versus the other businesses open. Allow us to break everything down for our customers.

No Rush At the Local Shop

Smaller shops are used to only handling a few clients a day and average fewer vehicles getting worked on. Many body shops have more scattered workers and less capital to use on education for modern vehicles. Specialists at Miami Lakes Automall frequently are trained and familiarized with newer models. We take satisfaction in extending superior assistance and servicing for vehicles we have. A smaller shop might be able to do the job, but how fast and productive are they at working a rush of business? Might these more modest repair shops hit some problems we might not? Are there some corners to save money or time? They might, but we are not one of those places.

We Keep Our Customers Informed

Our business practices include reaching out to our customers and keeping them informed. The more economical local auto shop might only have enough time to let you know they won’t be finishing the tiny job you needed, but we’re more than likely to have the job done accurately and appropriately. We won’t try to do a job we can’t manage, as we are not too proud to give an accurate time for most jobs before we even go forward. The perks concerning a proper repair or service center can stretch out way further than most can imagine. Knowing where to take a vehicle to get back to normal is just the base goal we have, but ask us how to improve a vehicle’s performance and the sky’s the limit at Miami Lakes Automall.

What Happens Without Servicing?

Proper care of a vehicle is a very important choice an owner must be aware of. According to CarCare.org, a quarter of vehicles driving right now have low or dirty engine oil. Think of the engine as the most important part of a vehicle; because it is. The powertrain is responsible for making the vehicle move and relies on many parts and fluids to keep it running smoothly. We know the issues of dealing with poor engine quality as we help owners and their vehicles that have engines long overdue for oil changes, maintenance, and the occasional engine failure. What else should owners look out for?

Insured To the Fullest

Think a small auto body shop is completely insured? Want to find out when it is too late? We are covered to make sure our shop is entirely safe and sound and that means well-trained employees and an insurance practice. Feel free to ask us about how we have gone the extra mile to create a secure environment and remain protected for not only our business, but for our customers as well. We at Miami Lakes Automall are ready to show off our vehicles and welcome everyone to see them live in person or over the web as we cater to our customers everywhere!

We Are Here To Help Our Customers Today, Tomorrow, and Beyond

We’re here to assist our customers in many ways, including going out for a test-drive with one of our vehicles from our wide new vehicle inventory. Whether you’re in Doral, Kendall, North Miami, Homestead, we’re happy to help our South Florida and local Miami customers. We’re professional and here to assist our customers with all buying, leasing, or trade-in offers.
We have a whole bunch for others to choose from. We can also help our customers out with any auto financing support they might need as well. Don’t forget we have a trained service team that can help with an online appointment to get started on all maintenance work and repairs. We look forward to being your center for all things automotive, even during these unprecedented times!

Stellantis EV Day 2021 Miami Lakes Automall

Dodge Revels From Stellantis EV Day 2021

Stellantis, parent company of Dodge, recently held their Stellantis EV Day 2021 meeting that revealed all of the plans going forward for their various brands. Dodge is one brand that will gain an EV for the first time and see an aggressive approach towards winning over new customers for the famed muscle car brand. We look forward to presenting all the results for the brand as we’ve learned more about the technology we can expect. Allow us to breakdown the bricks that Dodge is currently laying down for buyers and the electric future of the Dodge brand.

Dodge Aims For Electric Transformation

The next phase for the Dodge brand involves ensuring that its EV motives don’t leave behind the power and top-notch engineering that has made the brand a staple for so many decades. We look ahead to the upcoming electric Dodge muscle car. Will this muscle car be a Challenger, a Charger, or perhaps even a Barracuda? Dodge is coming closer to where the company is looking ahead towards. The biggest goal for the Stellantis growth will be how much they gain in terms of EV battery technology; the goal will be to offer costs for the EV battery with prices to go down by 40 percent from 2020 prices to 2024 prices. The next price lowering will be an additional 20 percent shrinkage by 2030.

“All aspects of the battery pack play a role in reducing the costs, optimizing the overall pack, simplifying the format of the modules, increasing the size of the battery cells and upgrading the battery chemistry. Stellantis intends to maximize the full value of the battery life cycle through repair, remanufacturing, second-life use and recycling, as well as ensure a sustainable system that prioritizes customer needs and environmental concerns.” According to a statement released by Stellantis.

The Stellantis Group Eyes Improves

The Stellantis group has committed to offering the best-in-class fully electrified solutions. The newest platforms that will be designed for a long life vai software and hardware upgrades. Solid state battery technology is expected to be introduced as a plan in 2026. Clean technology for a new generation of buyers will help lead the way for the brand. The next steps towards turning in sustainable mobility with rapid charge vehicles. Stellantis has promised to meet these various demands from the portfolio of customers that have requested a leap in EV growth. The current track is to build a high-energy-density option and a nickel cobalt-free alternative at some point between now and 2024. These choices are going to lead the way for the various brands including the Dodge brand.

Something Exciting Comes Your Way

Are you excited about getting a new or pre-owned vehicle? So are we! At Miami Lakes Automall, we’re more than excited to help our customers, we’re thrilled. Looking for a new option to buy or lease? 1999 Miami Lakes Automall

The Dodge Concept That Didn’t See the Light of Day Till Years Later

1999 Miami Lakes Automall

The long history of the Dodge brand goes back many decades, but regarding one particular nameplate, the Charger, we are going to highlight one concept that debuted but did not turn into what was originally shown to customers. While many Dodge vehicles have come and gone obvious, but the brand first brought out the Charger in 1999. As automakers look to the past sometimes when restoring an old nameplate or basing a new vehicle with cues from a former star vehicle, we can always look back to acknowledge the famed records of the Dodge brand. Long before the intentions of building a new EV Dodge concepts, we had the Charger concept that debuted before the world over 21 years ago.

Observing At the 1999 Dodge Charger R/T Concept

The modern buzz to hit the interwebz is the sports car that was the 1999 Dodge Charger RT concept. Back then, the Dodge Charger R/T was first rolled out a firm seven years before the Dodge brand would offer the same body in the Dodge Charger today. As the 2021 Dodge Charger, we are used to impressive handling, speed, and high-octane fun. We also can admire the perks that have come as a consequence of the Dodge brand producing back the 2021 Dodge Challenger. But, that story is for a different day; let’s get into what made the 1999 Dodge concept so attractive.

Dodge Brand’s 1999 Take With the Charger

Back when the entire Dodge brand was headed by the Chrysler brand that desired to put together the Dodge brand in a new light with many ideas that were never made, including a Jeepster concept. This Charger vehicle would end up as flagship vehicle for the brand, but that wasn’t obvious till the vehicle was highly-sought after in 2006. The Charger was first thought of as a sports car, not quite a muscle car, and the gas mileage was somewhat greater than many would imagine. The debut was at the 1999 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. This Dodge Charger concept was more like a Dodge Viper with its silky and extended exterior appearance. The R/T concept had a 4.7-Liter V8 naturally-aspirated engine. The total output was 325 horsepower and a stunning look that for some reason wasn’t turned into a production car.

Dodge added this vehicle to its lineup eventually, but the famed concept ended up in one video game despite never being put out. The Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition allowed this car as a possible choice for gamers back in 2005, a full six years later. The Dodge brand has tons of experience with building up the Charger to become one of the most celebrated muscle cars ever made. Want to test-drive one now? We can help make that potential at Miami Lakes Automall today!

Dodge Prepares To Build Multiple Electric Vehicles And More Plans Revealed

Night Dodge Miami Lakes Automall

There is a feeling within the Dodge community that the V8 engines of today are going to skyrocket in value. The most obvious reason is Dodge is going out of the gasoline-focused V8 powertrains business and headed to an electric future. There have been some new reports that though the electrification plans are new, they are going full force into the commitment towards building the brand with EV intentions for each vehicle. The report names Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, as the force behind turning Dodge into the premiere brand among its many options. What’s faster than providing a Hellcat? An electric Hellcat that is quick and fearless on the road. Now imagine there are more than six headed to the catalog in the near future by 2026.

Six All-Electric Vehicles Are Being Made

Dodge is rumored to have as many as “six all-electric vehicles currently in the styling studio in Auburn Hills, Michigan.” There is also news that “at least one, but probably several plug-in hybrids” are slated to be created. Whether this is concept vehicles or the turning of a new leaf for the Dodge brand, the report from The Detroit Bureau has Dodge making big changes. While this news is nothing new, we now have some more light shed on what is expected to change for the brand. The days of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon or even the follow up vehicles in the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye or Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock, we can expect changes to start showing by next year. Today at providing our customers with the newest Dodge vehicles.

Dodge Ushering In A New Era For Buyers

New Dodge Miami Lakes Automall

Promising clues are being reported about the next steps of the Dodge brand. Dodge has determined to put a check on the V8 era that has advanced since Dodge returned the Dodge Charger muscle car for customers in 2006. During the last fifteen years, we’ve observed the increase of some of the most dominant muscle cars in mass production. The 2021 Dodge Charger and 2021 Dodge Challenger are both striking examples of where the brand currently stands, but what can we expect going ahead as the 2020s are already flying by? Early sales in 2021 saw Dodge move vehicles at a higher rate for the Dodge Durango, Charger, and Challenger models. This is a promising display that will empower more buyers to join the Dodge brand. So who is joining Dodge lately?

Dodge Growing With Younger Generation

From sales figures, an apparent trend has taken place for several years. Dodge has led the way with sales for the younger buyers. The Dodge brand knows where the future is headed, as the path towards electric vehicles (EVs) is the goal. Dodge is also aware that compared to rivals, they have the youngest buyers compared to other manufacturers like Chevrolet or Ford. Dodge first noted this a couple of years ago but has followed up with more evidence that they sell their vehicles to “the youngest demographic in the industry” according to Dodge.

The car-buying demographic that presents most of Dodge’s business is diverse including the second-highest quantity of Asian, African Americans, and Latin buyers according to the Head of the Dodge Brand Sales Operations, Matt McAlear. The broad variety of V6 and V8 powertrains included in Dodge vehicles has pushed sales for years and extends to a new crop of buyers. However, the scope of these vehicles might alter with the renewed focus of Stellantis (parent company of Dodge) as they look to offer more fuel-efficient vehicles.

2021 Has Proved Some Impressive Success

Dodge has seen an increase in sales that should exceed pre-pandemic numbers set in 2019. Dodge had begun to bring the focus away from creating 800 horsepower vehicles like the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock. However, there was a promise to continue the SRT (Street Racing Technology) vehicles for the near future. While these are the most impressive vehicles for any owner to want, they aren’t meeting the goal of what the future holds for the Dodge brand and its EV intentions.

“There hasn’t been a date drawn in the sand saying you’ll no longer be able to buy an iron block Hemi anymore, but everybody knows it’s coming and they want to enjoy [the engine] while they can. The replacements are going to be so much more exciting,” stated Matt McAlear, Dodge’s head of sales operations.
