Dodge Promotes A Slew of Sleek New Appearance Packages

Dodge has been doing rather well lately, but they aren’t stopping with new rollouts any time soon. Dodge is ready to push sales towards their Dodge Charger and Challenger. The 2022 Dodge muscle car lineup will receive new styling packages that include the HEMI Orange and SRT Black Package appearance packages. The 2022 Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger look extra sleek with the dry-paint job with a unique single line that goes off center from the front bumper to the back bumper. The distinctive look of the HEMI Orange adds orange accents outside the muscle car with full-length outstretched orange accent stripe. Orange stitching can be observed on the flat-bottom steering wheel, console lid, instrument panel, across the doors and armrests, plus the shifter boot. There’s one more package that is also a particularly popular choice for Dodge muscle car drivers.

Go Widebody For Greater Grip + Additional Style

Owners can opt for a Scat Pack Widebody package that includes orange Brembo six-piston calipers that are matched with carbon black 20-inch Warp Speed wheels. The theme and detail provided with these packages are a throwback to the 1950s classic HEMI engine vehicles. Customers will note the bolstered seating has the embroidered Dodge logos. The Scat Pack Widebody includes a “392” added to the instrumental panel as a badge and costs $1,500. The black-out interior accents are found on the vent rings and the cup holders as well. Both the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger offer the “Widebody” trim treatment.

Owners can opt for the SRT Black package that will turn the SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye trims into even more sharp and sophisticated looking muscle cars. The SRT Black appearance kit is just $695 and Dodge has announced the Dodge Durango SRT will gain this package as well. The SRT exterior badging is found on the fender, grille, as well as on an added spoiler or decklid piece for the Charger.

Not Just Attractive, Wicked Fast, Too

The styling only helps owners decide to go with one of these options. After all, the performance is already high-octane and invigorating for drivers as the remarkable handling makes all the difference. That difference is helping Dodge move ahead of rival brands as sales have gone higher and surpassed the Mustang so far in 2021. New Dodge vehicles are ready at the premiere Dodge Dealer superstore in South Florida located at Miami Lakes Automall. There’s a reason our customers come to us to experience new Dodge muscle cars, SUVs, and service their vehicles with our service team. The landscape of fastest and impressive muscle cars might seem like a dream come true when spectators look back at the current line-up offered today. As electric vehicles become more the center of the attention, with Dodge announcing the future including a new EV option for their muscle car lineup by 2024, we are witnessing the glory days of gasoline vehicles. Dodge might have doubled down on providing an electrified experience for the future, but today we can offer reasons why owning a new Dodge muscle car is the right choice for customers that want the thrill of a heart-racing performance vehicle that comes with impressive handling and power.

The Most Important Facts When Car Buying

The most impressive facts for new car shoppers to take note of when buying a vehicle; checking to see if there are awards that showcase how responsible a brand is at providing excellence from day one of vehicle ownership. Among those vehicles, Dodge is actually ahead of nearly every other automotive brand earning the top spot in 2020 and 2nd place finish in 2021 according to J. D. Power’s Initial Quality Study. This is just one important step to take note of when buying a vehicle.

Another Dodge SUV Coming Soon

Dodge goes the extra lengths to provide customers with the newest technologies and equipping the newest Dodge muscle car lineup with an enhanced product line. Fans and buyers alike are more than likely happier than most owners of new vehicles. The current generation of Dodge muscle cars (both the Charger and Challenger) are currently finishing the last few years of the third-generation. However, we know the brand is seeing record sales for these muscle cars. The Dodge brand has recently shown hints and development photos of a new SUV aimed at the Mexican and South American market. The new Dodge SUV is rooted from the GAC GS5 SUV that is produced by Stellantis (parent company of Dodge) and sold in China only. The GAC GS5 can be found in some South American countries and has a sturdy turbocharged 1.5-Liter four-cylinder engine that nets owners 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque.

Could we see this new SUV arrive in the United States? While we have a fond place for the beloved Dodge Challenger product and invite our readers to come check out all the latest Dodge vehicles ready for a test-drive, we would love to see another vehicle join the Dodge Durango in the SUV segment. We are looking at a price range that is lower than the Durango in those markets. The Durango sells for $44,000 MSRP (Plus destination fee) for the South American countries that will receive the next Dodge SUV. The Dodge crossover segment lost the Dodge Journey, but time will tell if we see an American version of the newest Dodge SUV.

Dodge, Stellantis Earn Top Spot On J.D. Power IQS For 2021

With the future of the Dodge brand moving towards electric vehicles, 2021 might go down as one of the fastest flying years on record, along with the record amount of Atlantic tropical storms. After last year’s seemingly never-ending to now being in the last season before 2022, we’ve come quite a long way. And during this whole experience, the Dodge brand has earned results to inspire buyers while hoisting another award. This time the trophy comes from the 2021 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study that lists Dodge as the brand that finishes second on a list that includes all the top automotive brands. Dodge won the top spot last year and isn’t far off this year. A 223-question study was given to new car owners who felt the most positive and pleasant initial encounter was with these brands. Each year, this survey helps new car shoppers reflect on their experience with a vehicle over the course of the first few months of ownership.

“If you start with strong design, and follow that up with discipline on the plant floor, you get the kind of results we’re seeing today,” metro Detroit native Mark Champine, head of North America customer experience at Stellantis, said in a news release.

Into the Numbers of 2021 J.D. Power’s IQS

Each year, this J.D. Power survey helps new car shoppers reflect on their experience with a vehicle over the course of the first few months of ownership (the first ninety days of ownership to be specific). This is when problems should least likely appear and buyers want to know what to expect; if any problems appear, what they liked most, and other important aspects of purchasing a vehicle. Based on the problems listed per 100 vehicles, the system includes ways to gauge gain information on serious mechanical issues to problems with the infotainment system. Dodge owners only experience 139 complaints per 100 vehicles. The survey includes tens of thousands of responses each year. A big issue is smartphone connectivity across many brands.

“They’ve done a particularly good job of preventing problems from occurring. The key is design quality. Most of the problems people report are not because vehicles aren’t built properly. The majority of problems are because vehicles aren’t designed properly or with the customer in mind. Often, the factories get the rough end of this. There is a problem with the navigation system, for instance. The assembly plants are responsible just for installing it into the vehicle. It’s not their fault the navigation system doesn’t work,” said David Sargent, vice president of automotive quality at J.D. Power, told the Free Press.

Dodge Showing Off More Details Involving Electric Vehicle Plans

Fratzog Miami Lakes Automall

With the future of the Dodge brand moving towards electric vehicles, we have a tight window of time before the fastest Dodge options may actually be electrified! While we are excited for the changes, we are also tempted to tell our customers to snag up the Dodge collection as it currently exists. The high-octane Dodge muscle cars like the Dodge Charger and Challenger are exceptional beasts with their available V8 powertrains. The new muscle cars that are going to be made by 2024 will include the entirely electric Dodge vehicle. There are reports that the EV might carry the “Fratzog” logo for all electric vehicles. The Fratzog is a made up word by a designer first used in 1962 through 1976 by the brand. We saw the Dodge brand bring this logo back when unveiling the 2021 EV Day. The concept vehicle has drawn a large amount of interest from fans. One fan is actually the CEO of Dodge, Tim Kuniskis.

“It damn near looks like something that Doc Brown would have done. It looks very futuristic and electrified, and it’s our history, which is what we do,” said Tim Kuniskis. Referring to Doc Brown, the well-known fictional character from Back to the Future.

What Dodge Vehicle Will Gain the EV Treatment First?

We have only seen teasers of what this vehicle will be as well as no clue what the nameplate that will carry this upcoming, first-ever Dodge EV. Perhaps the Dodge Challenger will gain the EV, but we can’t say for certain. Keep in mind that the Challenger body has remained the same since the brand brought the vehicle back in 2008; this is the same for the Charger since 2006. Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, has invested upwards of $35.5 billion through 2035 for electric vehicles, which will include plug-in and hybrid vehicles. A plug-in hybrid is due out next year, so we are about a year from seeing this Dodge vehicle hit stores.Dodge understandably won’t just become an EV company solely or have their branding focus solely on EVs.

“We don’t want them to look radically different because we want you all to be part of the same thing. So, we said, ‘OK,’ if you have electrification in your car, we don’t want you to be screaming, ’I have electrification,” Kuniskis said, referring to Dodge’s “Brotherhood of Muscle” community.

Hennessey Performance Built A 1,000 Horsepower Dodge Durango

Hellcat Miami Lakes Automall

The 2021 Dodge Durango will arrive as a rejuvenated vehicle with a new trim that will only be offered for one year; the all-new SRT Hellcat trim. This is the first time the three-row SUV will offer a Hellcat trim for customers, which might come as a surprise. Before the addition of the trim, the Durango offered the fastest SUV speeds in the segment. Now with the introduction of the SRT Hellcat trim, Dodge adds the incredible power of the 6.2-Liter turbocharged engine and all the comfort and luxury that comes standard with the top Durango trim. However, for one company the strength of 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque was not nearly enough despite its offering of best-in-class performance. What company could possibly exceed the capabilities Dodge just added to the Durango?

Leave It To Hennessey Performance To Make A Hellcat Faster

For many years now, the Hennessey Performance team, a Texas-based tuning company, has created a platform to turn any vehicle into a 1,000 horsepower machine. Hennessey Performance is responsible for birthing the 1,000 horsepower Jeep Gladiator Maximus and the immensely strong 1,200 horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. The Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is now the latest vehicle to gain the Hennessey Performance treatment. Keep in mind, this is the first time any three-row SUV has been created to exceed the three-digit horsepower mark. While Hennessey Performance has built some remarkable vehicles to go way over the production horsepower allotment, they have never made a Durango faster or stronger.

Pushing the Limits of Dodge Engineering

Well-known for its achievements across the Dodge vehicle lineup, including the Dodge Viper, Charger, and Challenger, this is the first time they work on a new Durango and help it surpass the exclusive +1,000 horsepower mark at 1,012 horsepower. They had experience working on an SUV with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, but this is a bit different. The newly added HPE1000 supercharger upgrade kit for the Durango SRT has increased the raw strength that allows for 969 ft-lb of torque and it will have the same measurements as the aforementioned Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. The speed of the Durango will definitely be increased. The adjusted Trackhawk went from 0-60 mph at warp speed in only 2.6 seconds! We anticipate comparable figures for the Durango SRT Hellcat. (Now that’s wicked speed)

Still Impressed By the Durango SRT Hellcat

While the Hennessey Performance team has created quite a buzz with its Durango, don’t forget the stock version of the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat continues to offer exceptionally quick 0-60 mph time of merely 3.5 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 11.5 seconds. With times like that in a three-row SUV, that’s not only special for a large SUV, but for any production vehicle available today. We’ve already talked about how the Durango is ahead of the competition, but for any readers who are curious about driving a new SUV and want to check out a new Dodge Durango, let us help. We can help make that dream a reality at Miami Lakes Automall today!

Dodge Has Revealed A Shocking Detail About the All-New Durango SRT Hellcat Trim

Hellcat Miami Lakes Automall

Dodge energized its base when it first announced its intention to add the SRT Hellcat trim to the upcoming 2021 Dodge Durango. Many were shocked that the three-row SUV could even handle the turbocharged 6.2-Liter V8 HEMI powertrain. The 2020 Durango currently offers its highest-tier trim, the SRT. What made the SRT trim special was its providing owners the stout 6.4-Liter HEMI V8 that would hit 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. However, the addition of the SRT Hellcat famed engine means the horsepower will climb over 235 horsepower! The official numbers released have the Durango SRT Hellcat at 710 horsepower with 645 lb-ft of torque. The world’s most powerful SUV is also the fastest, but Dodge revealed more news about this upcoming beast of an SUV.

Keep This In Mind, There’s A Limited Time

There’s just one catch that Dodge announced regarding the forthcoming 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat; it won’t be produced for very long. Exactly six months of production is all that is expected for the new trim and powertrain added to the already world’s fastest three-row SUV. Naturally, this may not be a surprise as Dodge has a tendency to end its fastest production models within a year or less. We were still mourning the end of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon run; until we learned all about the all-new 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock. Dodge is building a line-up that is made for the drag racing scene, but owners can enjoy the remarkable performance on everyday roads and remove the word “boring” from any future driving trips, that’s for sure.

Rush To Get the Durango SRT Hellcat Fast

Dodge has kept its fans on their toes and kept the speed and excitement of driving a Dodge vehicle intact. This is just a reminder for all those customers that there will be a limited amount of time to snatch up the upcoming 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat. This vehicle will be expected to start around $77,000 MSRP (Plus destination fee). For lovers of speed, this is a price that all SRT owners can relate to. The 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is similar in price at $79,000 MSRP (Plus destination fee). The debut of the 2021 Dodge Durango is expected in the fall of 2020 and will offer wicked fast speeds of 0 to 60 mph in under four seconds!

Dodge Earns Top Spot On J.D. Power’s 2020 APEAL Study

Super Stock Miami Lakes Automall

Dodge enthusiasts have gained yet another reason to take pride in their beloved Brand. JD Power has just announced recipients of its APEAL Study; Dodge led all other brands. The measurements are based on an automaker’s ability to provide customers with the ownership experience that is promised. For Dodge, the main reason owners opt for this brand is speed and high-performance engineering; which Dodge provides in spades. Allow us the pleasure of going over this latest study done by J.D. Power and why the Dodge brand stood out in 2020.

Dodge Excels Over Rival Brands

Among all Mass-Market brands, Dodge had a leading score of 872. The average among the Mass Market segment is 838, so Dodge ended up quite ahead of the competition. The entire process of gathering responses took four months from February 2020 through May 2020 with 87,282 direct responses from owners of new 2020 model-year vehicles. Compared to the other brands, Dodge finished ahead of includes Ford (853, 19 points lower), Mazda (844, 29 points lower), Honda (842, 32 points lower), and Toyota (825, 47 points lower). This breakdown shows how Dodge is delivering to customers exactly what they are hoping for.

Other Brands Don’t Have the Same Grasp of What Their Brand Represents

While rival brands might struggle with an identity to present customers with, Dodge has only reinforced its image with some of the newest Dodge efforts that have come out in 2020. There is a lot of future Dodge products that are coming out to excite the fan base and keep customers looking forward to the Dodge brand’s latest efforts. Look no further than the 2021 Dodge Challenger that has its highest horsepower offering yet (807) in a new trim called the Super Stock

“Their owners do express a high degree of satisfaction with their vehicles. It’s largely driven by performance, styling, and the large infotainment systems in the vehicles. Customers that are delighted with a vehicle are much more likely to purchase a more expensive vehicle from the same brand next time than those that are less satisfied, who are more likely to switch brands, ” Dave Sargent, Vice president of automotive quality at J.D. Power

More Recognition For Dodge Vehicles

Currently, Dodge has provided customers with an affordable option for each vehicle they offer. More than just impressive, stylish muscle cars or the fastest three-row SUV in the Durango, Dodge allows customers to drive away with a fantastic deal for the amount of sheer strength and power offered across the Dodge lineup. In fact, Dodge finished atop J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study earlier this month. Want to experience what the Dodge brand has to offer? Viper Miami Lakes Automall

The Iconic Run of the Dodge Viper

The Dodge Viper was discontinued back in 2017, around now is when rumors would persist about the next generation set to come out next year or maybe in 2022. A recent story involving MotorTrend Car of the Year judges Tom Gale and Chris Teodore was published. Both of these men were previously employees of FCA when the launch of the original Viper happened in the 1980s. In fact, Gale was the Vice President of Design for the Viper. They have more experience in regards to how the Viper was first made and what it would take to see another run of the world-famous Viper. Let’s take a deep dive into the interesting history and future of the Dodge Viper!

The Beginning of the Dodge Viper

The debut of the Dodge Viper was in 1992, simply known as the RT/10 and in January 1992 the Viper was off and running for the public. Rear-drive roadster with an impressive 8.0-Liter V10 engine with 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. Many cars on the road today don’t offer that kind of engineering and impressive strength. This was just the first Viper that debuted nearly thirty years ago. It’s six-speed manual transmission came as a coupe with no other modifications and wouldn’t offer any impressive infotainment as found in later generations. From its first world appearance at the 1989 Detroit Auto Show, the fans flocked to this vehicle. By 1992, the world was ready for the Viper and it beat the Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 quickly becoming a much sought after car.

“We really want a V10 car because we want something that had a heroic proportion. We wanted something that was unique—different. I just wouldn’t want something that was in the image of what somebody else did,” Gale said.

Dodge Viper GTS Come Next

Where could Dodge go but continue their progress for the next-generation Viper, which first debuted at the 1993 Los Angeles Auto Show. Known as the GTS, this was the more powerful, better car overall. With enhanced safety and better performance and amenities, owners flocked to get this next-gen Viper. New features included power windows, Nomex-wrapped side-exit exhaust pipes to the rear, increased horsepower up to 450 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque. The Viper was also lighter, yet strengthened by a stiffer chassis and more liberal usage of aluminum in the car’s suspension. The vehicle became available in 1996 and was the kind of car on posters hanging on walls of kids and racing enthusiasts.

“Bigger-and badder-than life. Few legends truly live up to their press. The Dodge Viper GTS, on the other hand, exceeds the hyperbole that engulfs it,” we wrote in May of 1997.

Third and Fourth Generation Dodge Viper Models

Like an action-movie franchise with sequels that kept getting a larger budget, the Viper continued to debut a new version every so often and improved upon what made it so special to begin with. The third-generation Dodge Viper arrived at the 2000 Detroit Auto Show as the GTS-R concept. Stronger and more luxurious than the previous two Viper models. The roadster-only 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 captured the essence of both the concept and the original Viper RT/10. The powertrain included a V10 that supplied 500 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque paired with a six-speed manual transmission and wider rear rubber.

By the time the 2008 Viper SRT-10 coupe and convertible came out, they gave owners a new  8.4-liter V10 that hit the 600 horsepower mark with even more torque at 560 lb-ft and a new limited-slip differential. Production ended by 2010, a short run for Dodge and its powerful Viper. So, with a short period away from the spotlight, yet another Viper came out.

Fifth and Final Dodge Viper

The Dodge Viper SRT (Street Racing Technology) showed up in 2013, then-SRT chief and legendary designer Ralph Gilles added this quote about the vehicle upon its debut, “We had the privilege to design the Viper—not the right.”  The next-gen Viper equipped a 8.4-Liter V10 with 640 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque, with its standard six-speed manual transmission. This new Viper failed to surpass the Corvette this time around. Sales for the fifth-generation Viper were never particularly strong to begin with, and that fact, coupled with tightening safety restrictions spelled the end of the Viper in 2017. After a few limited-edition models, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ Connor Assembly Plant in Detroit closed the door on the Dodge Viper production run for good.

What Comes Next For the Viper?

So, is there a chance for another run? A six-generation Dodge Viper? Another sequel to the always compelling Dodge icon? We will have to wait and see. Dodge has seen its brand become entrenched in its muscle car vehicles that returned to prominence in the mid-2000s thanks to the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger. Both of those vehicles are still enjoying a long-term successful run with both vehicles still using the same platform they debuted with. That kind of success has not made Dodge think about the Viper, but for two of the men responsible for creating one of the Dodge brand’s most iconic vehicles, they are proud of their work and five-generation run of a car they helped create, the iconic Dodge Viper.

Dodge Still Sees Strong Performance Numbers In First-Quarter of 2020

Charger Miami Lakes Automall

The automotive industry is feeling the effects of a prolonged halt to the economy, as reflected in the first quarter of the results of 2020 that were just released. However, despite the closing of nearly every dealership in the traditional sense, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) saw growth with the Dodge Durango. The Dodge Durango grew 5% in the first quarter of 2020. With 17,805 units sold, the Durango was a popular choice for buyers nationwide. Few vehicles in any brand can report recording growth with the month of March showing slow sales growth due to COVID-19 impacting businesses and customers alike. When looking at the numbers, it’s impressive to note how Dodge still generated business and found customers looking for new vehicles.

Results of the First Quarter of 2020 For Dodge

FCA joined General Motors and Ford with announcing their success via quarterly sales reports. Up until the third quarter of 2019, FCA had released monthly sales. We’re sure the sales for April will be much lower, but there is hope for certain vehicles to prevail over the summer when dealerships around the country are expected to open fully. Dodge is one of the bright spots despite the slowdown. In fact, had March not seen slower traffic amid the rise of the Coronavirus outbreak, the Dodge Challenger and Charger models might have seen a higher sales total in the first quarter of 2020, ahead of the same quarter in 2019. Even with the shutdown, the Charger sold 18,628 vehicles and the Challenger moved 12,138 vehicles. The decrease was a mere 10% and few would believe Dodge wouldn’t have made up that difference with another three weeks of sales. That amount lost is equivalent to a quarter of the sales Dodge would have had.

The Dodge Grand Caravan is set to end its run in May 2020, so its lower than expected sales numbers brought down the Dodge brand’s overall sales numbers. We still believe the Dodge Grand Caravan is a solid option as it has been a staple of the Dodge lineup for over 30 years. We’re proud to offer a wide range of different Dodge vehicles, including nearly all the muscle cars and trims offered.

What the Future Dodge Muscle Car Designs Might Look Like

Speculation has run rampant for years regarding what changes Dodge will make for its muscle car line-up. The Dodge Charger has not altered its design since being brought back in 2006. The same can be said for the Dodge Challenger, revived back in 2008. Dodge has found greater success with these muscle cars in 2019 than any previous year. So, why change the design if these vehicles are still selling well? Of course, all vehicles are due for an upgrade and in order to make this possible, changes must occur. The world-famous Dodge muscle coupe and sedan models are way overdue for a complete redesign. A new sketch that highlights what could happen to the look and shape of these Dodge muscle cars in the future was posted by none other than FCA design chief Ralph Gilles on social media. Gilles added that his futuristic orange body-colored design has an “experimental design of a Dodge of the future”.

Why Won’t This Image Stand As the Future Design?

While the Gilles rendering was not seen as the official future design will look different, it is impossible to know the exact future that Dodge would be going for. One thing that plenty of Dodge enthusiasts caught upon looking at the image is the addition of the yellow spiller guard. This was seen as a humorous addition by Gilles. “We had a really good laugh about it”, he wrote in his Instagram post. Gilles reiterated he does not unveil future Dodge products on social media, but has added about the on-going controversy of owners of the Dodge muscle cars who keep the notorious splitter guards on. The future Dodge Charger and Challenger muscle cars will in fact have the color pink replacing the part that is yellow on the splitter guard. The main reason owners should not keep the splitter guard on their vehicle is due to the paint that can be ruined the longer the guard stays on the vehicle. For any readers that currently still have the splitter guard, we recommend they remove it.

This Design Looks Impressive, But Is It Realistic?

The 2023 model year will showcase the new designs for both Dodge muscle cars. A futuristic design is to be expected as the vehicle will not be changing any time soon after the design is finalized. The job shown by Gilles is a wide, long muscle car with seemingly low ride height. Keep in mind, the mid-2000s Dodge muscle cars were not very futuristic upon their debut. Designers keep a strong resemblance of the Dodge muscle car design from the 1970s with a more bold design added. We can expect the upcoming Dodge Charger and Challenger final products to cater to the future and have their own bold appearance. In just a few short years, the landscape of the Dodge Challenger and Charger will look different, but expect just as much horsepower.

Dodge Is Ready To Produce Faster Vehicles

The most recent years have produced some of the fastest Dodge muscle cars yet. No other vehicle had more horsepower than the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon or the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. Dodge is selling more muscle cars in recent years than ever before. Our readers are free to debate about how the future Dodge muscle cars will look like in the next generation, just talk to us on social media about it. We’re curious to know what our readers hope to see happen. Could there possibly be another Dodge muscle car to join the Dodge Challenger and Charger?
