Miami Lakes Hamburger House Party

Hamburger House Party 2018

Miami Lakes Hamburger House Party

After surveying burgers for the Hamburger House Party 2017, I just had to go check out this year’s event. The party took place on March 10, and oh man, was I stuffed. My name is Jordan, and I’m the same guy that played the part of food critic for burgers by reviewing several burger joints that were available at last year’s Hamburger House Party. Here’s a little recap from this year’s event.

Miami Lakes Hamburger House Party Boss Burgers

The Party

Alright, so at the 2018 Hamburger House Party, there were 19 burger joints showing off their best burger. That’s a whole lot of burgers, but they were all miniature sliders, like the picture to the right. They definitely weren’t anything like the one below:

That behemoth would put someone into a coma by the second burger patty. No, they were all small, and I prepared by fasting for 24 hours, so I was good to go. Now, I couldn’t try all 19. With unlimited beer and wine samples, I couldn’t do more than try nine burgers before I turned to dessert to wrap up the night. The sole dessert I tried was “Sweet Fix,” a brulee cake with rum creme and mango butter, by the “Bottoms Up” GastroPub and Tap House. They didn’t win, however – some empanada did.

Miami Lakes Automall 2018 Dodge Challenger History

History Review of the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger

Miami Lakes Automall 2018 Dodge Challenger History

Over 50 years ago, the first Dodge Challenger was built in 1958, known as the Dodge Silver Challenger, to rival the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. Following that was the Dodge Charger, produced to introduce the new 426 HEMI engine from Dodge. Today, both vehicles are still going strong thanks to constant innovation like the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, or simply the performance and control a Dodge vehicle delivers.

Dodge Charger

The first of muscle cars to come from the Dodge automaker was actually a sedan that soon transformed into a bit of sports car with pony car power. When the Charger was first introduced as a concept in 1946, the national public didn’t care too much for it, and the concept was shelved until 20 years later. The first-generation Dodge Charger was produced in 1966, only six years after the first generation Challenger.

Based off of the Dodge Coronet, the first-generation Dodge Charger was designed to be a high-speed street racer with a fastback roof design and full-width tail lamps. Although based off of the Coronet, early Dodge Chargers could easily be mistaken for a Dodge Challenger given that early Dodge Chargers also came with a two-door setup. In its seventh generation today, the Charger resurrected the aerodynamic look of its second generation and consisted of only three trims – the SE, R/T, and R/T AWD, all powered by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6.

Nowadays, the 2018 Dodge Charger has nine trims to its name, two of which come with an all-wheel drivetrain, two more are a blast from the past, and then we have the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, the sedan version of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. The most powerful, of course, is the SRT Hellcat, powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI SRT Hellcat V8 engine, capable of generating 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque with a top speed of 204 mph for the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.

No Production Car Has Ever Been Built Like the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

Miami Lakes Automall 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

When it comes to high performance pony cars, many consumers think of Dodge, Chevrolet, and Ford. The top contenders for the muscle car market are the Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Corvette, and Ford Mustang. Thanks to the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, the Dodge name will be holding the gold medal of muscle cars for years to come. Even with their latest incarnations, neither the Mustang nor the Corvette can match the Demon’s racing times, and no other automaker has done what Dodge did to make the SRT Demon a reality.

Performance

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is the only vehicle made to be a drag strip racer from the moment it hits the lot. Many cars can be tuned up with aftermarket components and engineering, such as the infamous Chevy Corvette Exorcist, one aftermarket creation designed to take on the Dodge Challenger Demon. The Dodge SRT Demon is made to be the end all muscle car with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Demon V8 engine that can generate up to 840 horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque.

Those numbers aren’t even the standard. The only way consumers can achieve that kind of output is by making use of the parts and accessories found in the Dodge Demon Crate. Does that still count as factory produced? Maybe there’s a little controversy there, but when it comes to racing times, the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon speaks for itself, able to accelerate from 0-60 mph and finish a quarter mile faster than the big names in the muscle car market, including the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1, and Porsche 918 Spyder.

Miami Lakes Automall Dodge SRT Demon Roadshow Driveline Award

Though the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was introduced to the public a little less than a year ago, it’s still owning the spotlight among car enthusiasts and being awarded by auto professionals for its prowess. The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is the world’s fastest factory production car. It produces 840 horsepower, accelerates from 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds and finishes a quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds.

While the Challenger SRT Demon’s track numbers are the winning point for most car enthusiasts, the winning point for car professionals is its original, innovative and meticulous engine design, and it just snagged another award for its engineering brilliance. “Roadshow by CNET” awarded the Challenger SRT Demon with the 2018 Roadshow Shift Award in the Driveline Technology of the Year category.

Roadshow Shift Awards

Miami Lakes Automall SRT Bondurant Racing School Demon

Bondurant Racing School Now Open to the Dodge SRT Demon

Miami Lakes Automall SRT Bondurant Racing School Demon

Remember back when we discussed the Bondurant Racing School? It’s the driving school that partnered up with Dodge/SRT to deliver the education and skills necessary to not only handle the power of Dodge muscle cars and SRT vehicles, but also gives them a chance to do a little drag racing. Well now that the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is making the rounds and orders are being delivered, Bondurant has opened a new program designed specifically for the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Strap into your racing harness, because you’re going to need it when this beast goes from 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds.

How to Get into the SRT/Bondurant Racing School

Is your adrenaline pumping already? Settle down, cowboy. There’s a few requirements before one can get behind the wheel of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. All automotive enthusiasts that wish to participate and attend classes at the Bondurant Racing School need to be of 18 years old or more to be eligible. Second, only drivers can attend the school, it’s not a place to socialize and take pictures.

There’s a third pseudo-requirement if wanting to take classes for free. If having purchased or leased a US-market SRT vehicle with a VIN from 2015 – 2018 (or the present) after April 1, 2015 will immediately have the fee for the classes waived. Meaning the cost of the classes are included in the vehicle, but owners or lessees of an SRT vehicle produced after 2015 only have a year to redeem the free day at school. Otherwise, they, and those who have not purchased or leased an SRT vehicle, will need to pay the standard price of admission – $699.

Miami Lakes Automall Brembo Hybrid Brakes

New Brembo Hybrid Brake Pads Embody SRT Performance

Miami Lakes Automall Brembo Hybrid Brakes

A little while back, we discussed the high performance braking systems installed into high performance vehicles. Specifically, we discussed the braking systems designed by Brembo and how they help keep vehicles like the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon in check. Now that we’re in 2018, concepts and news about 2019 vehicles are already underway, and there’s already talk about the new 2019 Chevrolet Corvette and the type of braking systems being developed to not only increase its performance but also the control the driver has, on and off the track.

The Importance of a High Performance Braking System

Having good brakes on an automotive vehicle is obvious. Not only does a driver need to be able to bring a vehicle to a stop, but some situations require them to do so quickly, such as when a child runs out into the streets or an abrupt halt in traffic. Yes, some of that comes down to being able to maneuver the vehicle around obstacles, but it’s much easier to move around, say, a pothole, when travelling 15 mph versus 60 mph.

Welcome to the Dodge Garage

Miami Lakes Auto Dodge Garage Feature

Wouldn’t it be nice if automakers could put all of their information in one place? Pretty much every brand out there has a website for their car models, then a social media page, a news page for PR, and then usually a third party or two for other media, accessories, and merchandise. Who wants to go searching for all of that? Well with Dodge, you don’t have to. Welcome to the Dodge Garage.

The Dodge Garage is a one-stop shop for Dodge enthusiasts, consumers, and drivers to get all their news, media, and even merchandise pertaining to the Dodge brand. What We Won’t Miss About Staying Home for the Holidays

Miami Lakes Auto Holiday Travel

The holidays are coming up, and everyone is going to have a food baby by the New Year. Some of us are going out of town, some of us are staying in. Those of us hosting don’t have it easy. We make all the food, including the sides, invited others to make it a potluck, but you can’t rely on that, so we also made some deserts. Yeah, those of us spending the holidays at home have it tough, but you know what we’ll never miss? Being on the road during the holiday rush.

Traffic

Hahaha, oh those traveling for the holidays will surely hit traffic anywhere and everywhere. Flying a few days early? That airport terminal is going to be busier than usual. Flying the night before? Better get some sleep on the plane, because the next day will be busy for at least twelve hours.

Then there’s everyone on the road. The traffic is jam packed with everyone traveling to their final destination. Unless leaving early morning, it’s gonna be a heck of a drive to make it there in time for dinner. And come nightfall, we need a driver that hasn’t had too much to drink.
