Dodge Hornet May Return To Add Variety To Dodge Line-up

Hornet Miami Lakes Automall

Dodge may introduce a throwback nameplate in an upcoming vehicle due out later this decade. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has filed for trademarks of the “Dodge Hornet” and “Hornet”. When our readers think of the Dodge brand, we’re sure they will come up with the Dodge Charger or Challenger. Dodge enthusiasts are not only fans of the muscle cars in the line-up but have love for the Dodge Durango, which also offers an SRT trim. The newest Dodge vehicle on the horizon could possibly be the Dodge Hornet. Once a concept vehicle for Dodge fifteen years ago, reports have surfaced with these new trademark requests for the Hornet.

Future of the Dodge Line-up

By June 2020, the Dodge brand will solely have four vehicles once the Dodge Grand Caravan ends its thirty-five-year run; the Dodge Challenger,  Charger, Durango, and Journey. The Durango and Journey are both SUVs, but there is room for various segments for Dodge to go with. The United States Patent and Trademark Office is responsible for granting the trademark to the Hornet name. We’ll know before long what Dodge plans to do, but if the vehicle is anything like the first Dodge Hornet, Dodge will be producing a vehicle that looks very similar to the boxy Scion xB SUV.

More On the Dodge Hornet

Among the many concepts that have come and gone, there are few that look like the Dodge Hornet. The Dodge Hornet concept was created back in 2006 and expected to be ready a decade ago in 2010. The 5-door mini multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). Built with a 1.6-Liter supercharged 4-cylinder Tritec engine that delivered 170 horsepower, the Hornet didn’t have the kind of horsepower that fit like a Dodge vehicle. By 2011, after Fiat and Dodge were merged, the concept was turned into a subcompact vehicle that would still delight today as the vehicle was pronounced to have 40 mpg, which is fantastic gas mileage. However, the vehicle that eventually came out as the Dodge Dart. Now Dodge is intending on delivering the Dodge Hornet after all.

What Else To Expect From Dodge?

We believe there’s a chance the Hornet could end up as a compact crossover or SUV, as sales in those segments are more popular than ever in 2020.  With the Dodge Grand Caravan set to end, FCA can produce a vehicle like the Hornet in the Windsor factory, the same plant where the Dodge Grand Caravan was built. Some stories have noted the Dodge Hornet as a future PSA Groupe vehicle. The merge of FCA and PSA Groupe has expanded the portfolio for both companies, but changes have not been seen yet to the catalog currently being marketed. The word on the street is usually hit-or-miss, but filings like these are interesting to note. Thinking about driving a new Dodge vehicle?

Uconnect Miami Lakes Automall

Dodge To Receive Improved Technology, Upgrades To Uconnect 5

Uconnect Miami Lakes Automall

The future of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) will be based on innovation. The main goal in this decade is to continue to push for electric vehicles and the latest in plug-in hybrid technology across all vehicles. Some of the current Jeep, Ram and eventually Dodge vehicles are going to see this technology take over. The only question is when; FCA has its sights set on making all their vehicles less reliant on gas and focused on promoting greater gas mileage more so than ever before. In keeping with their approach to growing their technology in all their vehicles, the latest rollout of the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system will help take FCA further. Uconnect 4 was an improvement in providing customers with faster connectivity, but this recent upgrade takes the technology even further.

UConnect 5 Is Smooth, Fast, and Easy To See

FCA has added support for Amazon Alexa, allows over-the-air updates, plus two devices can now be used simultaneously. Of course, Android Auto and Apple Car Play are still going to be supported, but the Uconnect 5 won’t come on small screens. The latest system took notes from what has been the most popular and successful touchscreens and opted to include this latest Uconnect system to a 12.3-inch Ultra HD touchscreen with a fully customizable home screen for drivers to embrace.

“Our customers live busy lives, and our goal with the Uconnect platform is to provide an advanced portfolio of services to make their daily drive more convenient, productive and enjoyable. This is why we are launching Uconnect Market, as we continue to ramp-up our connectivity efforts around the world with the goal of having all new FCA vehicles connected by 2022,” said Alan D’Agostini, Global Head of Connected Services, FCA.

The Perks of Uconnect 5

The Uconnect 5 system has made life easier for drivers and passengers. The ability to support up to five driver profiles is ideal for families or businesses, including total preferences for everything a driver needs. Everything is connected with the Uconnect 5 system. This includes the music, apps, but also climate and car temperature, seat positioning and customized touchscreen. The system will differ depending on which vehicle, but the results have shown the Uconnect 5 is five times quicker than the Uconnect 4. This is due to the 50K MIP chip added, along with 6 GB of RAM implemented.

Improved Features of the Uconnect System

FCA has proclaimed the Uconnect 5 is going to be based on Android’s automotive operating system. This is a more feature-rich and savvy infotainment set-up that will see up to 12 million pixels in their Ultra HD screens. Sharp graphics are expected as well with a new widget-based home screen. For our customers that want to experience the FCA Uconnect system, we have plenty of FCA vehicles ready to go at Miami Lakes Automall. Try us out today!

What’s Next For Dodge?

2019-Dodge Challenger-SRT-Hellcat-Widebody

What will come next for the Dodge brand? After closing the last decade with a remarkable stretch that included many highlights, what is up the Dodge brand’s sleeve? We are sure to see more special edition packages for their muscle cars. The Dodge Durango SRT is a remarkable choice for drivers, but will this new decade see Dodge continue pushing the limit even further of the top speed placed into the large SUV segment? We’re not in the business of speculating much, but we can say we already know the fastest muscle cars can be found at Kendall Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram and they are made by Dodge. Let us share our ideas for the Dodge brand brought on by speculation, rumors, and insiders of the automotive industry.

Where Does Dodge Go Next?

After creating a new widebody trim for the 2020 Dodge Charger, what else can Dodge do for its muscle car segment? The truth is going to come out little by little, but these are our ideas for the next few years of the Dodge brand. 2018 was highlighted by the introduction of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, followed up by the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. Combined these vehicles carried over 1,600 horsepower! Could Dodge go one step further and introduce a 900 or even a 1,000 horsepower production muscle car? Some shops around the world have put their focus on upping the ante with high-specialized forms of Dodge products, but could Dodge get ahead of the competition and offer such impressive production for the masses? The muscle car popularity has reached an all-time high after a decade that saw the latest Dodge vehicles hit their stride with impressive sales and deliveries. Look for Dodge to revamp their decade-old frames of the Challenger and Charger at some point, plus an electrified version of each muscle car at some point in this decade.

Improving the Dodge Line-Up

Will Dodge create another vehicle in its segment? Could there be a new Dodge crossover or pickup someday? We’re fairly certain the success of fellow Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) brand, Jeep, and the Jeep Gladiator might have moved some at Dodge to consider making a Dodge pickup again. Of course, Dodge used to be Dodge Ram and the Ram brand is currently experiencing never-before-seen sales thanks to the innovation added to its premiere truck products including the Ram 1500 pickup. The recent merger by FCA to its new partner, PSA Groupe, will determine the ultimate fate of the Dodge brand. Till then, we’re certain this will be a busy year for Dodge. Our customers can come and check out the latest Dodge vehicles right now at Miami Lakes Automall. We are committed to finding the right choice for our customers.

Merger Miami Lakes Automall

FCA Has Completed Their Merge With PSA Groupe

Merger Miami Lakes Automall

An official merge has taken place between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Peugeot, known as PSA Groupe. FCA is the parent company of Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Chrysler after searching almost all of 2019 to find the right partner. The French government that has a significant stake in Peugeot applauded the deal and FCA confirmed the deal on December 18th, 2019. This deal delivers on the hope both companies have to go forward with transforming their vehicles into the 21st century with more electric vehicles, better products, and a greater presence in the automotive world. This new company is  now the fourth-largest automaker in the world, estimated to generate 8.7 million vehicles annually. Both automotive companies are looking to build on their brands, but some may see major changes. PSA Groupe CEO Carlos Tavares has declared he thinks in the history of both companies are a strong backbone of the new company.

“We love the history of car brands, it gives us a foundation on which we can project ourselves into the future,” said Tavares.

Changes To Each Current Brand?

Among the automotive brands this new company owns: Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Chrysler, DS Automobiles, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, and Vauxhall, we’re certain some changes will happen. Let us share our findings on each one of them and where they may go in the next decade.

A Closer Look At Each Brand

Abarth, the high-performance line of Fiat’s, has sold just 26,736 vehicles in 2019. Notwithstanding, an increase of 7.4 percent compared to 2018 is nothing to complain about. Alfa Romeo sold less than 100,00 units in 2019 and changes might come to this brand in a big way. FCA CEO Mike Manley spoke of Alfa Romeo adding that all investments would be reduced before the merger was made official. Citroen is a French brand that was founded back in 1919. Citroen is expected to settle apart of the brand despite not having a name that is simple to read and has made no appearance in North America. Chrysler, which is known for the 300 large car and Pacifica minivan, is not expected to grow any more vehicles, but is expected to stay apart of the company. DS Automobiles, a new brand as of 2014 and apart of PSA Groupe’s upscale vehicle brand, we can see this brand growing worldwide.

Dodge is about as safe as any of their brands, being apart of Chrysler for nearly a century. Fiat sold 1.38 million vehicles last year and is not expected to be removed. Jeep is the one brand that is presumed to grow more than ever with Europe getting to see what the American brand is all about. Lancia only sells one vehicle, the Ypsilon compact car, but sales have gone up significantly this year. This brand is a wild card. Maserati is safe and expected to see seven new models made between 2020 and 2023. Opel is a long-storied brand that made its first vehicle back in 1899. While this brand is only produced in Europe, plans remain to keep this brand apart of the company. Peugeot has an even deeper history that stretches over 200 years and has sold 1.74 million vehicles in 2018, so we are confident this brand will remain a vital cog in the new company. Ram has seen a massive jump with 263,000 more units sold so far this year over last year, and 2018 was Ram’s best year ever. This is a brand that will only grow as a result of this merger. Vauxhall is expected to remain apart of the company going forward.

Barracuda Miami Lakes Automall

2020 Dodge Barracuda: Rumor or Next Dodge Car?

Dodge has seen their Challenger muscle car move ahead of their rival the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro in 2019. After third-quarter sales were revealed, Dodge was more than happy to see the success of their high-performance muscle car. However, with the loss in recent years of the Dodge Viper in 2017 and the Dodge Grand Caravan ending in 2020, Dodge has some room to add new vehicles. Perhaps that is the logic behind the rumors of the long-speculated Dodge Barracuda.

More Speculation On the Barracuda

The rumors are just that, according to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), but some publications have reported that next year Dodge is set to produce a new car in 2020. There is no doubt Dodge has loyal fans of both the Challenger and Charger, but one more could vehicle could never hurt. Originally, the Barracuda, made by Plymouth before it became the Dodge brand, was a pony car. Whether the Barracuda is a sports car like the Viper or another muscle car, Dodge can find success with a new edition. Some believe the Barracuda could be a new trim or special edition convertible Challenger labeled as the Barracuda. Fellow FCA brand Chrysler has brought back another Plymouth nameplate with the Voyager returning as two lower-trim options for the Chrysler Pacifica. The Voyager minivan was successful in its day before its original run ended in 2000 and has already debuted as apart of the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica trim set.

What Will the Barracuda Have?

Reports have the 2020 Dodge Barracuda becoming one of the fastest Dodge cars, close to the famed 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. The SRT Demon has 840 horsepower and the expectation is the Barracuda will go 203 mph and come close to 800 horsepower. The fastest Dodge Challenger that is available today for sale is the SRT Hellcat Redeye that hits 797 horsepower. Should the rumors be true, the Barracuda will be a highly sought after vehicle. While the speculation is exciting, we know the best feeling driving a new Dodge vehicle that isn’t a rumor. The latest line-up of Dodge muscle cars is quite remarkable. Driving one of these high-powered Dodge vehicles is an experience we’ll be happy to share for our customers.

Redeye Miami Lakes Automall

Dodge Challenger Reigns Supreme In 2019

Redeye Miami Lakes Automall

The competition among muscle cars has been fierce for the third quarter of 2019. The winner is the Dodge Challenger, which has come out on top ahead of long-standing rivals Chevrolet and Ford. Moving into first-place in front of both the latest Ford Mustang for the Chevy Camaro is an achievement for the Dodge brand. No other muscle car could match the sales of the premier Dodge muscle car, the high-performance Challenger. The Challenger saw a massive volume sold, hitting their biggest quarter ever. Dodge and parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles are happy to see their Challenger moving 18,031 units sold versus 16,823 Ford Mustang sold and 12,275 sold for the Chevy Camaro.

How Did Dodge Pull So Far Ahead of the Rest?

Conventional wisdom would say that the Ford Mustang should have sold more volume than they did. They didn’t. Many would have guessed the Camaro should have done better, they didn’t fare any better, either. What could explain how Dodge did as well? The answer is found in all the perks Dodge offers that no other brand can match. No other vehicle saw a positive gain in this quarter. The Dodge Challenger saw their sales rise 21 percent over this time last year. Mustang fell down by 12.3 percent and Chevy saw the Camaro go down by 15 percent. Despite having an older platform, the Dodge Challenger keeps rolling against the competition.

Maybe It’s the Muscle?

Ford doesn’t offer a muscle car that can match the aggressive horsepower offered in the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. The upcoming Ford Shelby GT500 will have 37 less horsepower than the aforementioned Hellcat Redeye, which nearly hits 800 horsepower at an outstanding 797 horsepower. Just below that threshold is the SRT Hellcat that offers 707 horsepower. The Camaro, currently in the 6th generation, offers an engine that hits 650 horsepower by comparison. Dodge has learned their vehicles are among the most popular among drivers and their customer base is also younger than the competition’s as well.

Perhaps the Success Is Due To Versatility

Dodge won this quarter and looks to build on this success. More reasons that point out how this happened could be due to the fact that Dodge has plenty of trims and also offers many more special editions and unique packages. With so many different levels of the Challenger to drive off with, the Dodge brand helps customers take home the exact muscle car and perks they want. Stop by and pay us a visit at Miami Lakes Automall for all things automotive. Want to experience what it’s like behind the wheel of a muscle car? Allow us to make it happen at Miami Lakes Automall.

Dodge Grand Caravan Going Out On High Note

2020 Dodge Grand Caravan Miami Lakes Automall

Among the choices buyers have in the minivan segment, few have carried as much prestige and as much horsepower as the Dodge Grand Caravan has over the years. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has announced that their Dodge Grand Caravan will have one last year of production scheduled to run through May 22nd, 2020. The latest carnation of the Grand Caravan will have a similar look as the current 5th generation wraps up its long run. The Grand Caravan was first made back in 1984. Today, the 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan packs  283 horsepower that comes standard with its powerful V6 engine. in the 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan. While the Dodge Grand Caravan is still available today, it might not be very soon.

Ending the Run On a High Note

FCA is preparing to turn the Grand Caravan into the Voyager to pair with the successful Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid minivans. The production of the Grand Caravan will be made at the FCA Windsor, Ontario, Canada factory where both minivans are produced. FCA has not formerly stated much about the plans for the end of the Dodge Grand Caravan. While some may view this as a way to help sales, the Dodge Grand Caravan will become more exclusive as its thirty-five-year run comes closer to its end. In fact, the Grand Caravan sold more in 2018 with American sales hitting 151,927 vehicles sold, the most since 2007. In fact, halfway through 2019, FCA has sold 71,947 Grand Caravan minivans. By comparison to the popular Pacifica, only 48,527 units of the Pacifica had been sold by June 2019.

“Grand Caravan production has not ended and we have not made any announcements about the end of production. It is our policy not to comment on future production plans,” FCA spokesperson Jodi Tinson.

More On the 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan

The powertrain provides 262 lb-ft of torque and works with a nine-speed automatic to the front wheels. Dodge Brings Their Best to Texas

State Fair of Texas Miami Lakes Automall

Everything is bigger in Texas. That’s a true statement, especially when Dodge rolls into the 2019 State Fair of Texas with its largest line-up ever. Dodge brought along the latest Grand Caravan, Journey, Charger, Challenger, and Durango for customers to see and behold. Drivers that want to spice up their daily driving routine would not only get a bargain on excitement but one of the best-produced vehicles on the roads in a current Dodge. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has worked hard to put together a top-notch group of vehicles and no brand represents their work quite like the Dodge brand.

How FCA Has Made All Their Great Vehicles

Vehicles made by FCA and Dodge are possible thanks to the engineers and automakers that have a passion to bring out the best in each other. FCA has also done their best to reward their employees. For the 11th year in a row, FCA was named by the National Business Group on Health (NBGH) for their commitment to their employees. The award from the NBGh is the 2019 Best Employees: Excellence in Heath and Well-being Award. This is the ninth consecutive time that FCA is the only automaker to win this distinction.

Not Just Muscle Cars Go Fast

Very few vehicles are able to handle quite like a Dodge, whether it’s their muscle cars or their Dodge Durango SUV. The Durango also carries an SRT version. The Street Racing Technology added to the SRT trim of the Durango and thus created the fastest three-row SUV in the world. Speaking on behalf of FCA, the parent company of Dodge, Steve Yandura, the Director of the Southwest Business Center for FCA US added this statement.

“We are bringing our best lineup yet to the State Fair of Texas, Texas Auto Show. Every year, we work to build on our past success at the fair and this year fair attendees will thoroughly enjoy our displays and interactives,”  – said Steve Yandura.

Experience the Acceleration of the Dodge Line-up

Don’t wait any longer to experience driving a Dodge vehicle. Amongst the many cars that have been produced for the muscle car segment, few offer as much value for the price as the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger. The latest editions from Dodge punctuate the strength of the brand. Dodge took the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye to show off at the State Fair of Texas. For drivers hoping to show off a vehicle of their own, driving the new SRT Hellcat Redeye is not a bad way to start. The 797 horsepower fitted from its remarkable 6.2-Liter turbocharged engine makes the SRT Hellcat Redeye stand out. This Dodge product is likely the most aggressively fast muscle car most car owners will ever drive. Want to know what these vehicles are like? There’s No Stopping the Upcoming 2020 Dodge Charger

Daytona Dodge Miami Lakes Automall

The Dodge Charger has experienced growth in 2019 with new special editions on the horizon and some that have recently appeared. Many customers are awaiting the upcoming 2020 Dodge Charger, which should be arriving in dealerships later during the fall of 2019. We’re just as excited to see the latest Charger as there will be no stopping the success of this muscle sedan that keeps selling well despite the sedan segment slowing down in the automotive industry. The first-ever Dodge Charger SRT Widebody has added new attention to the Dodge muscle car fanbase, which is among the youngest compared to the competition. We’re ready to take our readers on a journey through the future of the Dodge Charger.

How the Dodge Charger Is Still So Successful

Despite not changing the body and frame of the Dodge Charger for over a decade, the Dodge Charger is still popular. The newest special edition is the 50th anniversary Dodge Charger Daytona Edition, which looks great and is a rare find with only 501 models made. Dodge and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) have more than a limited edition coming for the 2020 Charger. For those who can’t wait to get their hands on pure Dodge muscle, a promotion is running through September known as the Power Dollars promotion that buyers can still enjoy if they hurry.

More On the 2019 Sales

Now through September 30th, 2019, the Dodge Power Dollars promotion is a great incentive for those hoping for a wonderful deal to drive home a new 2019 Charger. The Power Dollars promotion helps buyers gain a cash rebate of $10 for each unit of horsepower in the vehicle they are purchasing. Customers that opt for the acclaimed top-tier Charger, the SRT Hellcat, can save an amazing $7,070. The rebate for this promotion applies to all trims of the latest Charger. The Dodge promotion is also available to other vehicles of the Dodge family, including the 2019 Dodge Challenger and 2019 Dodge Durango as well. For fans of these high-performance Dodge vehicles, this is the time to take them home on a fantastic deal.

Thinking About the New Widebody?

Dodge can thank the Charger for an 8.8% increase in vehicle sales through the first half of 2019 versus the previous year, raising its total to 45,046 vehicles sold. We know buyers want to finally get their hands on the first widebody ever made for the Charger. The Widebody trim will provide drivers with extra rubber on the tires, more horsepower and greater traction for owners. Though the sedan market has seen declining sales, the Dodge Charger has only experienced increased sales. Speaking on the greatness of the Charger, Kevin Hellman, Dodge brand manager talked about the current state of the sedan market and the Dodge Charger and the upcoming Widebody trim.

“There are people that have been doing it in the aftermarket here and there, but I think directly from us is really what people have been waiting for. Other than the additional performance that we’ve added in terms of getting the grip to the ground, the car looks beautiful, too.” – Kevin Hellman, Dodge Brand Manager

Dodge Muscle Owners Are Youngest In Muscle Car Segment

2019 Dodge Challenger Miami Lakes Automall

The landscape of muscle cars attracts many drivers from every age group. However, recent insight has highlighted buyers of various muscle car brands. Speaking candidly about the average age of the Dodge muscle cars, owners, Kevin Hellman, Dodge Challenger brand manager, had some new information. Curious to learn more about the future of the Challenger and what the “the youngest buyer in the segment” is?

Dodge Has Youngest Age of Muscle Car Customers

According to Hellman, the youngest age group between all major muscle car companies is not as youthful as some would guess at 51 years young.  The rival Ford Mustang has an average buyer age of 55 years old, and the Chevrolet Camaro has an average customer age at 53 years old. With people living longer in more recent generations, of course, the age of drivers on the road has increased. Since 2000, the number of car owners over 55 years old has gone up 15 percent. The rush of driving a muscle car is not lost with time, especially since the Dodge muscle cars have become better.

If It’s Not Broke, It Doesn’t Need to Be Fixed

Speaking of age, the Dodge Challenger and Charger have aged gracefully despite not having a massive overhaul in over a decade for each car.  The Dodge Challenger is currently the second-best-selling muscle car in the United States. Dodge has continued to pull away from the Chevrolet Camaro boasting over 4,000 more units sold through just over two-quarters worth of sales. Through July 2019, Dodge has moved 28,668 Challenger vehicles while the Camaro sold 24,516 vehicles. The appeal of the Dodge Challenger remains, and Dodge will continue pushing their prized muscle car.  Head of design for Dodge, Chrysler, and SRT, Mark Trostle, remarked the design of the Challenger will not change any time soon. The change to the appearance won’t happen despite the latest safety regulations and fuel economy standards, making it made it harder to keep the current design. Dodge has found creative ways to improve fuel economy over the years and enhance the vehicle to be even faster and more powerful.
