It’s that time of year when we want to know what will come next for the prized Dodge muscle car, the Dodge Challenger. Set to offer its 2022 model year at some point this summer, we’ve caught wind of the initial reports that the future of the most influential V8 engines is likely to decrease in support of electric vehicles. Of course, Dodge won’t purposely alter its brand from what buyers love. In truth, the muscle car will live on, but with all the undertaking Stellantis has placed on changing its brand, we are questioning where Dodge heads next. Particularly with its Street Racing Technology (SRT) brand, what will it turn into? FCA and PSA Groupe combined forces to produce Stellantis, the world’s fourth-largest automotive company, and among the massive changes comes in the way they will produce new vehicles. While Stellantis has put a spotlight on the brand as they remain committed to its SRT brand, it might not all be the news some wanted to hear. (It’s not all bad, though)
What Will Dodge Think of Next?
Among the largest changes will be how Dodge advocates to its fanbase how to set up its brand moving forward. The massive shift to combine electric vehicle technology to its muscle car lineup is underway, but at what cost? What will allow the Dodge engineers to produce the V8 engine-powered muscle cars enthusiasts crave? Buyers expect to have the same heart-racing power offered by the SRT brand, but we now understand there will no longer be a main goal on the SRT mission. This announcement concerning the process was shown to MotorTrend and serves as a reminder of the times regarding the transformation the automotive industry is taking on. This move signals a shift that will be felt for many years, even generation ahead.
“These products have delighted enthusiasts for nearly two decades, and Stellantis will continue to sell and develop the next generation of Dodge/SRT-branded vehicles, as well as Jeep and Ram vehicles that [utilize] high-performance SRT technology,” Stellantis said in a statement.
Dodge Aims TO Keep SRT Brand Intact
So, in regards to all those famed SRT trims and its unique brand of badges and style, buyers can know this will still be kept. The only sad news is the SRT brand is not keeping up with the same focus as those in power determined they will curb the brand. The boss of the Stellantis brand, Carlos Tavares, has recently said that the performance vehicles like the 2021 Dodge Challenger and 2021 Dodge Charger are here to stay, which is all we want to hear at Miami Lakes Automall. The enjoyment of the SRT brand like what is found in the SRT Hellcat trims is unlike any other brand on the market today.
“What Hellcat has done is way beyond what our initial expectations were because it’s way beyond what a traditional, very high-end trim does,” Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Dodge
Keep in mind, Dodge sold over 50,000 Hellcat trims in just the last five years alone. Thinking of the cost of any SRT Hellcat, which starts around $60,000 MSRP, we know the reasons lie in the brand’s heart racing power. Check out all the freshest details concerning the upcoming 2022 Charger and 2022 Challenger soon to come later in 2021 to Miami Lakes Automall.. Today, the Dodge vehicles have not ever been more complete and powerful. Buyers can expect to enjoy the perks of Dodge engineering and allow us to help with the process of owning or leasing a Dodge vehicle today.

The future of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) will be based on innovation. The main goal in this decade is to continue to push for electric vehicles and the latest in plug-in hybrid technology across all vehicles. Some of the current Jeep, Ram and eventually Dodge vehicles are going to see this technology take over. The only question is when; FCA has its sights set on making all their vehicles less reliant on gas and focused on promoting greater gas mileage more so than ever before. In keeping with their approach to growing their technology in all their vehicles, the latest rollout of the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system will help take FCA further. Uconnect 4 was an improvement in providing customers with faster connectivity, but this recent upgrade takes the technology even further.
UConnect 5 Is Smooth, Fast, and Easy To See
FCA has added support for Amazon Alexa, allows over-the-air updates, plus two devices can now be used simultaneously. Of course, Android Auto and Apple Car Play are still going to be supported, but the Uconnect 5 won’t come on small screens. The latest system took notes from what has been the most popular and successful touchscreens and opted to include this latest Uconnect system to a 12.3-inch Ultra HD touchscreen with a fully customizable home screen for drivers to embrace.
“Our customers live busy lives, and our goal with the Uconnect platform is to provide an advanced portfolio of services to make their daily drive more convenient, productive and enjoyable. This is why we are launching Uconnect Market, as we continue to ramp-up our connectivity efforts around the world with the goal of having all new FCA vehicles connected by 2022,” said Alan D’Agostini, Global Head of Connected Services, FCA.
The Perks of Uconnect 5
The Uconnect 5 system has made life easier for drivers and passengers. The ability to support up to five driver profiles is ideal for families or businesses, including total preferences for everything a driver needs. Everything is connected with the Uconnect 5 system. This includes the music, apps, but also climate and car temperature, seat positioning and customized touchscreen. The system will differ depending on which vehicle, but the results have shown the Uconnect 5 is five times quicker than the Uconnect 4. This is due to the 50K MIP chip added, along with 6 GB of RAM implemented.
Improved Features of the Uconnect System
FCA has proclaimed the Uconnect 5 is going to be based on Android’s automotive operating system. This is a more feature-rich and savvy infotainment set-up that will see up to 12 million pixels in their Ultra HD screens. Sharp graphics are expected as well with a new widget-based home screen. For our customers that want to experience the FCA Uconnect system, we have plenty of FCA vehicles ready to go at Miami Lakes Automall. Try us out today!

The third of five questions have been posted by Dodge during their Dodge Horsepower Challenge. The Dodge questions being posed on both their social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter have the latest question, as do we. First, we recommend our readers learn about how to play in this contest. Dodge brought back the Mayor of Muscleville, famed wrestler and Dodge muscle car enthusiast Bill Goldberg to serve as host. As for last week’s question, the answer was posted on November 19th, 2019.
The contestant who wins the contest will be awarded one of five brand new special-edition TorRed Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. This is currently the fastest Challenger vehicle, made famous when it debuted earlier this year. The SRT Hellcat Redeye carries the highest horsepower offered by Dodge currently at 797 horsepower thanks to the massive 6.2-Liter turbocharged V8 HEMI engine. Contestants are clamoring for the chance to own this special edition Dodge muscle car!
Week Three Has Arrived
This week, the third question is “If we recreated the scene from “Fast & Furious 7” and dropped a Challenger SRT® Hellcat Redeye Widebody from a C-130 aircraft at 5,280 ft, how much horsepower would it take to drive past it before it hits the ground if you’re 1 mile away?”. To view the question being asked by Goldberg himself, check out this link. There will be two more questions that follow, one for each week left in November. This week’s question and each week’s questions are officially launched on Tuesday at 8 a.m. ET and run through Monday, 11:59 p.m. ET. All the official rules can be found at Dodge.com.

“At Dodge, we know that no matter how much horsepower you have, a little more can’t hurt. So we’re giving all our loyal fans an opportunity to get one of our highest horsepower Challenger models for free. Unfortunately, there isn’t really any such thing as free horsepower, so these five lucky Dodge fans will have to earn their way in by answering a horsepower question. Ok, the questions are ridiculously difficult, but it is a free Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, and we’ll help you along the way,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and Fiat, FCA

Dodge is giving away five Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye muscle cars to select winners of their Dodge Horsepower Challenger. Each week for five weeks, Dodge will be choosing a winner among those who answer their weekly questions posed on Dodge.com and their Dodge Twitter and Facebook accounts. Learn more about how to play in this contest, and get ready for week two’s question. The Mayor of Muscleville, famed wrestler and Dodge muscle car enthusiast Bill Goldberg has this week’s question for contestants to answer. Let’s go over the recent results, this week’s question and an overview of the timeframe to answer the questions.
Recap of Recent Contest Results
Last week’s question was definitely challenging (as it should be) and yet, there were quite a number of right answers. The giveaway is for the special-edition TorRed Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, so of course, many people will seek to win this vehicle from Dodge. Dodge is helping with clues and ways to assist contestants. Following Dodge on social media helps as they post hidden hashtags and hints for what the answer could l
“Dodge fans have inundated our social channels this past week to find hidden hashtags to help them answer the first Dodge Horsepower Challenge question. And I have to say, I’m impressed. Over 3,000 enthusiasts have answered the challenge correctly. So as we release Challenge #2, don’t give up hope, we’ll continue to give out clues on Twitter and Instagram to help,” remarked Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America.
This Week’s Question + Guidelines
The questions are becoming slightly more difficult as this week’s question shows. Unfortunately, Dodge will not provide an easy multiple choice question. Contestants will have to really think and break out some mathematics to correctly solve each question. This week, the Dodge Horsepower Challenge question asked goes as follows: “If we wanted our cars to be quieter, we’d just have to make ’em go faster. How much horsepower would the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye need to get somewhere before the sound of its engine does?”
The answer will be announced next week with three more questions left before all winners have been accounted for. The time a contestant has ranges from Tuesday, November 19th at 8 am through the following Monday, November 25th at 11:59 pm. For our readers that don’t want to play games, we don’t when it comes to showing off our latest Dodge Vehicles.

Back when we received a tease about the 2019 Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat trims, there wasn’t much Dodge seemed inclined on sharing. There were two teaser images, a profile for the Challenger SRT Hellcat and a look at its new hood, and another teaser image for the Charger SRT Hellcat with a focus on its front fascia grille. There was talk about improving horsepower, maybe a new Hellcat engine, and even some SRT Demon bits thrown in to keep the gates of Hell open a little longer. Summer is here, and as promised, Dodge released more news about their 2019 high-powered sedan.
Recap of What’s New
In case we’re not all caught up here, there is a lot of talk about stretching the horsepower of the Dodge SRT Hellcat trims by a little for 2019. With the not-so-amazing reception of the SRT Demon, Dodge is using the experience and the technology used to develop the SRT Demon engine to improve upon what already works – a muscle car that is more inclined to be used on the street, but can still burn up the race track. With this in mind, it can’t be a coincidence that Dodge is also going with a more iconic look to pay homage to its heritage, once again, for 2019.
Aren’t tailgating parties fun? And no, for those that were previously unaware, it’s not a party where a bunch of cars tailgate one another like ants. A tailgate party is actually a social event that takes place usually before or after a game of sports, like football, in or around the stadium or arena where the game takes place. Many people will park in one location, usually around a main center area where people will set up grills for barbecue, provide alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and whatever else to add to the good times. Most consumers may think a truck or an SUV is the perfect solution, especially with the RamBox Cargo Management System, but when it comes to big parties, minivans might work just as well.
Tailgating With the Dodge Grand Caravan
Yes, it’s a minivan, but the Dodge Grand Caravan was practically made for tailgating. Mainly, we’re talking about the Grand Caravan SXT trim, with a starting MSRP of $31,750* that has the third row Stow ‘n Go tailgate seats. Yeah, that’s right – the second row and third row Stow ‘n Go seats may be standard across the lineup, but the 60/40 Stow ‘n Go split-bench double as tailgate seats in the Grand Caravan SXT. Simply flip the seats back, and that’s two front-row seats to the tailgate party.
Then there’s food, beverages, and party favors. Where can we keep all of this stuff? Depending on the party guests, thanks to the Stow ‘n Go seats that also double as split-benches, we can load up one or both sides of the Dodge Grand Caravan. With the second and third-rows stowed away, a total of 140 cubic-feet of free space opens up. That’s enough for a cooler or two, some sports gear and party favors, even a stereo for sick beats if looking to provide some music without draining the car battery.
The 2018 Dodge Durango Pursuit was unveiled not too long ago, May 2018, and it was another welcomed vehicle by police and law enforcement officers (LEOs). Like the Dodge Charger Pursuit, the Dodge Durango Pursuit was tailored as a vehicle for the police force. Evildoers will want to think twice about their next high-speed chase – Powered by a HEMI V8 engine, the Dodge Durango Pursuit may as well be a battering ram. Now, with 2019 details having been leaked for the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger, Dodge debuted the 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit at the National Sheriffs Association Show.
For the 2018 and 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit models, the powertrain is made up of a 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Both model years also come with the same standard all-wheel drivetrain (AWD) to handle all types of terrain. If things get a little bumpy, the 2018 and 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit are outfitted with a two-speed transfer case for true low-range off-road capability. The 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit also offers a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine option for 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and a highway fuel economy of 25 mpg versus 22 mpg on the highway with the 360hp 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine.
The body and chassis of the Dodge Durango also received modifications for its entrance exam into the police academy. For instance, the 2018 Dodge Durango Pursuit includes the segment’s longest wheelbase (119.8 inches) to provide added stability and improved handling, 8.1 inches of ground clearance, and larger, heavy-duty anti-lock brakes. Assuming these changes carry over to the 2019 model, the 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit has a pursuit-rated brake package that features 13.8-inch rotors up front and 13-inch units in the rear for impressive stopping power.
Back in 2017 when the Dodge brand released the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, it was definitely a pinnacle of achievement for a factory-manufactured vehicle. Outfitted with a a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Demon V8 engine modified with over 90 new parts, the engine had the ability to generate up to 840 horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque with a little 100+ high octane fuel. Since then, many wondered what was next for Dodge. At the same time, Chevrolet and other brands kept claiming they could beat the Dodge SRT Demon. For every brand that swats at the “fastest car title,” Dodge swats back.
2019 Dodge Challenger
For those who thought the Demon was it for the Dodge Challenger, don’t worry just yet. A teaser for the 2019 Dodge Challenger was released in May 2018, with more details being revealed in the summer. The teaser showed us a new design for the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat that gives the muscle car a new retro dual-snorkel hood scoop inspired by classic Mopar designs to pay tribute to its heritage way back when the Dodge Challenger first began. The first-generation Dodge Challenger featured the Dodge Challenger Trans Am, or T/A for short, and we think the revival of the T/A for recent Dodge Challenger model years may be linked to bringing back the retro look for the new 2019 Dodge Challenger.
The new hood scoop will also be functional, said to feed air into the supercharger lurking underneath. More air means more power, and of course bigger competition. Enter the next-gen Chevrolet Corvette.
“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!” That’s the kind of quote we could use when talking about the legendary Dodge Viper. Back in 2016, the nearly 30 year-old sports car was finally being put to rest to downsize the Dodge lineup a bit, along with the discontinued Dodge Dart. Let us tell you, it didn’t quite stick. It first started with some going away Dodge Viper special editions that sold out quick. A second round of more special editions were produced and and then brought back a second time for collectors that got the memo a little late. Then we thought the Dodge Viper said its goodbyes when Pennzoil made a Last Viper tribute video. We thought it was done for … But Dodge has other plans.
The Dodge Viper
If it wasn’t for the Dodge Viper sports car, the high performance automobile group, SRT, may have never come to be. Originally called “Team Viper”, the “Street and Racing Technology” (SRT) group was put in charge of designing and developing the legendary Dodge Viper. The model went through various names – the Dodge Viper SRT-10 in 2008, then the SRT Viper in 2013, and then the latest model, Phase VX (later simply called “Dodge Viper”) that lasted from 2013 to 2017.
Under the hood of the Dodge Viper was a hand-built 8.4-liter V10 engine. Designed with ten cylinders in two banks of five, this engine was rated at 645 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque – the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports-car engine in the world. With that kind of power, the Dodge Viper had some impressive track times. In 2016, the Dodge Viper, ACR (American Club Racer) was named the “ultimate street-legal race car”, having held more track records than any production car in the world (a total of 13 road course lap records as certified by the Sports Car Club of America), and a recorded time of accelerating from 0-60 mph in 3 seconds flat. However, one would argue the 2003 Dodge Viper Hennessey Venom 650R was better, with a recorded acceleration time of 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds, and able to run a quarter mile in 10.7 seconds.
Dodge has created another toy for the boys and girls in blue, the new Dodge Durango Pursuit. But just as fun as it is to drive the new SUV, it’s also a very helpful tool that helps law enforcement officers (LEOs) do their job and stay safe. Here’s a look at the new Durango Pursuit and the Dodge Charger Pursuit.
Dodge Charger Pursuit
Dependability, quick acceleration, technology, and most importantly, safety, the Dodge Charger Pursuit is a nice set of wheels. Outfitted with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, the standard version of the Dodge Charger Pursuit cranks out 292 horsepower and has a fuel economy of 26 mpg. If the squad wishes to go up a level, the Charger Pursuit is also available with a larger 5.7-liter V8 engine, able to produce a best-in-class 370 horsepower.
In addition, some high-grade hardware has been integrated to make the Pursuit durable, agile, and powerful. Among the Charger Pursuit’s performance features are a performance-tuned suspension, load-leveling NIVOMAT shocks, 14.5-inch front and 13.8-inch rear pursuit-rated brake package, 18-inch performance tires and two-mode electronic stability control (ESC).
There’s also some nifty tech. Surprise, surprise. The Dodge Charger Pursuit has a 12.1-inch touchscreen connected to Uconnect 12.1, a user-friendly built-in computer system that has been integrated with advanced law enforcement systems. The specialized UConnect system allows officers to efficiently respond to calls, share their location, and navigate the roads with access to the most-up-to-date information.
