Dodge Will Change the Opinion of What EVs Are By Next Year

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022

Dodge has known the competition has grown in the last few years in the EV segment. While the Dodge brand currently doesn’t have any EV vehicles currently; this is about to change.  Many automakers have recently created some short-term noise during this month’s Super Bowl, also known as an annual A-list commercial event. Dodge is ready to pounce later this year with an electric muscle car that will be a first for the automotive industry. Some brands are trying to put a new EV vehicle out there, a common error of hoping to enrich their portfolio without making a real impactful launch. Here are some of the ways that have helped Dodge do things differently than the competition has in 2022.

Reshaping the Electric Vehicle Dynamic

Mayn EVs are simply not exciting enough to establish ownership with buyers. Dodge is setting up the timing for the release of their brand new muscle car; the first of its kind. This will help to build growth for the brand. As their focus to put together this industry first muscle EV, they knew the brand would have to have customers learn they were not removing any horsepower just for the sake of an electrified power. They are currently promoting a new marketing campaign titled “24 Months of Muscle” to hype customers up about their current lineup of V8s.

“The electrification movement, the infotainment movement, the autonomous movement — it’s getting more interesting. You look at it as a mature industry but it’s actually quite the opposite. It’s evolving more than ever. The current suite of EVs out there tend to be a little bit bland and uninspiring — great performing vehicles but not necessarily heart-pumping in the cultural or aesthetical sense. So trying to find a way to make them desirable and affordable,” said Ralph Gilles, Chief Design Officer of Stellantis

Anticipation Grows Ahead of Concept Debut

As of February 2022, the nameplate for the electric muscle car is unknown, but a Challenger or Charger nameplate is an expected choice for name recognition. Whichever comes first, we will see. Dodge sales are doing better than ever after leading all other muscle brands in 2021. Stellantis is moving all their respective brands towards an electrified push. By spring time next year the portfolio for Dodge will look vastly different than what we offer now. Dodge could offer vehicles with range extending trims, which would be an industry first as well. That’s the path fellow Stellantis brand Ram is making by giving customers a leg up on the competition. For those who know their daily drives are shorter, they might be interested to opt out of the less range effective trim offering. The details are yet to be fully revealed for the next generation of Dodge vehicles, but they are bound to renew the dominance Dodge has started this decade establishing

Dodge Finally Adds New In-Line Engine Option Over HEMI V8s

Friday, February 11th, 2022
Inline Miami Lakes Automall

Dodge is dashing ahead to gain a substantial leverage point beyond the competition. The first electric muscle car the world has ever witnessed is one way, but another action being driven is the proper approach to replace its aged HEMI V8s with a more practical and efficient all-wheel-drive, inline-six engine. Will we see these changes being made at the 2022 New York Auto Show? This could be a realistic chance, after all this is another move from the 24 Months of Muscle rollout that has started for the Dodge brand..

Dodge Returning To the Big Apple For 2022 New York Auto Show

The great return of the massive automotive event is set to enjoy a week-long run for the first time since 2019, since the days before COVID. The next action is set for a Stellantis and Dodge backing of its next powertrain. The date we are lingering for is April 15th through April 24, 2022. The next chance Dodge gets to show off the new wave of new Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger muscle cars, they will. We know the Dodge brand is revving towards a decisive push just as they did last year to produce the top-selling muscle car mark for the first time with the reborn Dodge Challenger. The famed Dodge Challenger was brought back and has enjoyed a lengthy run from 2008 now. A patent has been recorded for Stellantis. Dodge has been operating on adding these new in-line six engines as part of the five-year strategy made back in 2018. This is a report we’ve tracked for more than three years.

Dodge Customers Can’t Wait For the New EV

Dodge is creating a new EV line-up that comes with PHEV choices, notable not only for their muscle cars but new changes are coming out for fans of muscle cars to appreciate shortly. To begin 2022, the Dodge brand is bringing out new appearance packages for buyers. The HEMI Orange and SRT Black appearance package create a surprising dry jet black body color paint that has an immaculate finish. The loud look of the HEMI Orange adds orange accents outside the muscle car with full-length orange accent stripe that goes bumper to bumper. Orange stitching can be discovered on the flat-bottom steering wheel, console lid, instrument panel, across the doors and armrests, plus the shifter boot. Dodge Leaps and Bounds Ahead of Chevy and Ford

Thursday, January 6th, 2022
2021 Dodge Kendall Dodge

The Dodge Challenger was the leading muscle car of 2021, ending up ahead of the Ford Mustang for the first time since 2015. The Dodge muscle ride sold 54,314 vehicles, a 3% growth over its 2020 tally. The Ford Mustang sold 52,414 muscle vehicles and it slowed down 14% from 2020. The changing of the guard has been coming for a long time and the Dodge brand is happy to know it’s sold more than the Chevrolet Camaro as well, a vehicle that only sold 21,893 vehicles in 2021. We can’t even imagine how much higher the sales will be after the Dodge EV lineup comes out.

From the Top Selling to the Most Unique Sales of 2021

At the beginning of every year we look back at some of the sales totals from the previous year. There were quite a bit of tempting choices that were sold as new vehicles from Stellantis in 2021. Among the options were four new Dodge Viper vehicles, as many as 10 Dodge Darts and even more vehicles that have been concluded. The Chrysler Town & Country, Chrysler 200, and Jeep Patriot were also moved in 2021 as well. There was a time when the Dodge Viper sports car was a sizzling hot option, but half a decade has gone by since the last production vehicle debuted as the 2017 Dodge Viper. The Dodge Dart on the other hand, the Dart has not been in production since last being built in 2015. The Chrysler Town & Country dealt only four vehicles, but the Town & Country was last made in 2016.

Jeep Patriot Sells More

The Jeep Patriot SUV crossover ran its course and the production run ended in 2016. The Belvidere Assembly Plant last saw one roll off the production chain in December 2016. There were actually 16 units sold in 2021 and that was an outstanding 433% difference from 2020. Not that Stellantis is going to revive any of these vehicles as they have provided customers with a wide slew of options. The 2022 Jeep lineup contains more choices than ever before for shoppers. The new year has brought many perks for those looking to upgrade their current ride and we can’t wait to help put on some smiles on the faces of our customers at Miami Lakes Automall.

Dodge Spending Billions To Improve Software & Technology

Thursday, December 9th, 2021

The changes of the pandemic are widespread, both for consumers and automakers. The one constant is the hope to see life change for the better and quickly, but luckily we are seeing the results of new goals and future endeavors of massive brands pumping tons of money into innovation. The results are beginning to show as Dodge is moving away from traditional, same ol’, same ol’ entries with new energy and creations for buyers. The truth also can be found that currently, there are not enough vehicles to go around as demand is growing rapidly for these new vehicles.

How the CEO Approaches New Challenges

The CEO of Stellantis, Carlos Tavares, has addressed this as recent as this week a few weeks before 2022 arrives, how popular this year has been for car sales. When speaking before journalists, Tavares had this to say. The next move for the brand is ramping up production towards the electrified muscle cars, but a large focus is knowing many people want the current vehicles Dodge has.

“My order book is going through the roof. People want to buy cars. It’s amazing. It’s as if we have all discovered through the COVID crisis how important it is to protect our freedom of mobility. And therefore, what’s the best way to protect my freedom of mobility is to have a car,” Tavares remarked while at a former Dodge Viper plant now known as the Conner Center.

Dodge Moves Ahead With Software Upgrades

The collection of Dodge vehicles has changed from cars like the Dodge Viper to more consumer-approved, fuel-friendly options. Over the course of this next decade, we will see even better options added for consumers. Battery electric vehicles are more expensive to manufacture; they are as much as 50% more expensive. The source of Dodge and other Stellantis brands’ innovation comes from software expansion. The better they are strategizing, the better the vehicles will be for consumers. There is no doubt the Dodge brand is making waves. Dodge has put together $22.6 billion dollars towards upgrading their software and changing the driving experience with “software-enabled products” and subscription services. The Stellantis brand is also trying to build on its autonomous vehicle development with its established partnerships with both BMW and Waymo. In total $34 billion has gone into electrification and these software developments through 2025.  For those interested in driving the new Dodge muscle cars, check with us at Miami Lakes Automall!

New 2022 Dodge Durango Gains R/T Plus Trim

Tuesday, November 30th, 2021

Dodge is no stranger to offering customers exactly what they want most. The Dodge brand has been in the news making waves and all sorts of noise to a positive response with its EV muscle car set to debut in less than two years. We can be assured the Dodge brand is set to offer a slew of outstanding vehicles that are electrified and awesome, but for now, the latest news is focused on what we have today. The current Dodge vehicle that is receiving some attention is the famed, tried-and-true Dodge Durango SUV. The 2022 Dodge Durango will add an R/T Plus trim that is going to gain much of the luxury options that make the cut for the higher trims.

What Comes with the R/T Plus?

Drivers looking to opt in to a vehicle that supplies luxurious features, but don’t want to go to the highest trim sets can look no further than the R/T Plus when the Durango SUV arrives for the 2022 model year. The equipment added to the Technology Group includes the adaptive cruise control feature, safety features like forward collision warning, advanced brake assist support, lane departure warning and makes the drive of a Durango that much more enjoyable. However, this is a group add-on, as features can be opted for or not, as owners can also decide on the Premium Interior Group that adds an upgraded instrument panel for owners. A suede headliner is also included with perks that make life easier to safely drive like Safety and Security Systems’ blind-spot detection. The power sunroof makes for a stunning appearance feature that is one of the many perks afforded with the Premium Interior Group. Owners have luxurious add-ons that include the 19-speaker, 825-watt Harman Kardon audio system, plus the Nappa leather seating and among the sharper looking SUV interiors on the market.

An SUV Fit For A King

When opting for the Durango, a massive-interior is provided that includes seating for seven comfortably, with space for more. We are not sure if there will be a return for large second-row captain’s chairs for the R/T Plus, but the option is a feature for the higher trims. For the rear-wheel-drive version of the 2022 Dodge Durango R/T Plus, the price is set at $53,820 MSRP (Plus destination fees). For those that want to get started on driving a new Dodge Durango, speak with us at Miami Lakes Automall today to get the holiday season started off in a marvelous way. Dodge Hornet Is Set For 2023 Model Year And Debuts In 2022

Thursday, October 7th, 2021
Dodge Hornet Miami Lakes Automall

Well, well, well, Dodge is making the Dodge Hornet after all. We had long speculated, most recently earlier this summer in 2021 about the return of the Dodge Hornet’s famed nameplate making a comeback. Now we know more about the production coming towards the Stellantis owned Dodge brand making its latest SUV a Hornet offering. Rumors have listed the Hornet to be a crossover effort that will be the first all-new vehicle option since the 2013 Dodge Dart first made its arrival. However, small cars have become a thing of the past, especially non-electric small cars. The SUV and pickup segment is still high on gasoline powertrains and popularity for now, but this will pass as well as the entire automotive industry urgently opts for more savvy and fuel-efficient ways to drive forward.

News On the Upcoming Dodge Hornet SUV EV

The last report to come out has the Dodge Hornet to use the Alfa Romeo Tonale as the basis for the vehicle’s distinct look and feel. The arrival of the Hornet will help the brand offer a new SUV for the first time in nearly a decade. This upcoming spring we expect all the details to be shared. The Hornet will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain and offer a turbocharged 2.0-Liter inline up as the gasoline engine; two choices for customers to select from. The base trim is set to offer impressive returns, but those looking for all the bells and whistles will have to opt for the high-end Dodge products. The 2023 Dodge Hornet should arrive by late 2022 as the production is slated to go with the Alfa Romeo Tonale product. This is still reported by Mopar Insiders and not official through Dodge, but we still see the creation as a serious possibility.

Dodge Goes All-In Towards EV Creations

Dodge is ready to provide a new class of vehicles with the Dodge muscle car that is unnamed, but set for an electric vehicle trim, whether it’s the Dodge Charger or Dodge Challenger or a new entry. Consider the Dodge brand and its plans to offer a future EV for a muscle car? While this might seem like a wild idea, the brand is focused and is insisting on offering a Dodge EV trim for every vehicle at some point this decade. The goal to offer more PHEVs is growing into a fast reality for the Dodge and Stellantis automakers. Let’s just hope customers are on board with getting the cleanest, most powerful new electric vehicles set to be made in the United States soon enough.

The Dodge Journey Is Sticking Around Worldwide

Thursday, October 7th, 2021

The Dodge Journey might have been moved from the United States, but the vehicle isn’t done with Stellantis just yet. The 2022 Dodge Journey has returned to be sold in North America, but this vehicle will only be sold in Mexico and China as well. The vehicle has made its way out to China to be produced for future entries. Back in 2008, when the Dodge Journey was first released, the production growth for the vehicle swelled. By 2020, the Journey was on the way out, but only in the United States. These Journey vehicles are to be made in Hangzhou, China. They will be made by a Chinese automaker known as GAC.

More On the Future of the Dodge Journey

The joint-venture between China and the Stellantis brand will help grow the Dodge brand elsewhere, specifically China. The SUV is going to carry a 1.5-Liter turbocharged engine that offers 169 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. The powertrain is paired to a six-speed automatic four-wheel-drive vehicle. Three trims will be offered including the SXT, Sport, and GT trims. The GT will supply larger 19″ wheels, a 360-degree camera and 12.3″ digital gauge cluster, plus hands-free trunk release. There’s still a  focus on the Dodge Journey as it stays around for a new market. This is news to the board at hand spending the money to make this venture work between the Dodge brand and GAC.

“(This is) a new way for us to ship our vehicles to the overseas market by cooperating with international automobile giants,” said General Manager of GAC Motor Zeng Hebin.

Production Continues Through 2021

GAC is aiming to sell about 4,000 of these Dodge Journey vehicles. GAC is responsible for providing vehicles to 26 countries with over 35,000 vehicles sold overseas and exported in just 2020 alone. Considering this kind of expansion, the Journey will continue to make its name known. The nameplate will exist for at least the 2022 model year and perhaps beyond. Dodge is used to making vehicles that can last the test of time, look at how well the Dodge Charger has fared with plenty of classic Dodge muscle cars still around and the newest Dodge muscle cars have never been better. Come check out what we have to offer our costumes and learn about the next steps Dodge is making towards offering a brand new Dodge electric muscle car by 2024. The automotive landscape will look very different by then. At Miami Lakes Automall, we could even have a brand new Dodge SUV ready for our customers soon. Dodge Is Pushing Ahead With Electric Plans, Revealing New Details

Friday, August 20th, 2021

The particulars of all the innovations coming to Dodge have somewhat been announced with its “Never Lift” program being recently declared. The sixth-annual Dodge Roadkill Nights, an automotive celebration held in Pontiac, Michigan, took place on the third weekend of August earlier this month. During the event, a press conference was held that gave Dodge fans, enthusiasts, plus media workers the chance to talk to the Dodge brass about anything their hearts desired. One such subject made was the electric plans that have been teased and announced to a degree for the muscle car brand. The growth of Stellantis is directly tied to the electric future of the Dodge brand.

“When you make a big change, there’s going to be people that just aren’t going to follow you, at least initially. But a lot of those people will return eventually when they see we’re serious, and we’re going to be Dodge first,” remarked Tim Kuniskis.

More News Coming Ahead of the EV Debut In 2024

The calendar of introductions for the Dodge brand will include official dates for the trim line changes to each particular Dodge vehicle in the subsequent months, new appearance-based trims that will offer meaningful upgrades as well as the eventual date for the end of the current platform used on their muscle cars. The Charger and Challenger have been built and ridden on the same platform since their debut the decade before last (2006 and 2008 respectively). We have already discovered the latest Dodge vehicle, the first all-electric Dodge muscle car set to become introduced by 2024. This date will come by sooner than most customers realize!

“The new car comes in 2024. We didn’t say that the current cars are going to die in 2024. There might be a little overlap, but you’re not going to have years and years and years of the classic and the new one at the same time.” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge CEO

When To Expect More Dodge Muscle News

The fourth quarter of 2021 begins in just over a month and a half and at some point is when we will see what is to come from the brand. Dodge saw their Challenger surpass the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro earlier in 2021. So progress has continued for the brand in 2021. The forthcoming “Never Lift” program is sure to be a success for all Dodge fans and owners alike. Keep in mind, the celebrated run for the mean Dodge muscle machines has persisted as long as it has this time around thanks to high-powered manufacturing and plans that includes over 800 horsepower stock in some of these vehicles. The next two years will include more than trim packages with appearance upgrades; as we’ve been told before. Will there be something to rival the 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye? We are anticipating more accounts on the subject, but let us offer some exceptionally quick options at Miami Lakes Automall.
