The Dodge brand is looking ahead to the future, but let us look back to the year the Dodge brand jumped ahead to reinvent itself. The Dodge Charger was brought back in 2006. Re-Debuting at the 2006 North American International Auto Show after its original production started in September 1969 through 1974. Since then, it’s all been a big success including and the brand introduced the 2008 Dodge Challenger. By the time the 2015 model year came around, Dodge introduced the 6.2-Liter HEMI, which is still used today in higher trims across the Dodge brand.

Brief Recap of Recent Dodge Muscle History

The Dodge brand has only upped the ante as the powertrains would only become more fierce. The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was the first Dodge muscle car to add over 800 horsepower in a Dodge production vehicle. They kept up this immense power by maintaining the output of over 800 horsepower with the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock

“We listen very, very carefully because these are the people who are going to buy these cars. If they tell us there’s something that they want, and it’s possible, we listen very, very closely to them. If I had to categorize it, I would say the Super Stock is nothing like the Demon, and it’s more like the Redeye, just re-tuned for the wheel and tire package. 80 percent Redeye and 20 percent Demon.” -Tim Kuniskis, Dodge President

What Will Become of the Brand?

So, now the muscle car world is looking for a new Dodge emblem. Will the brand push the boundaries even further? The iconic nameplates might see more SRT Hellcat fun. After all, before Stellantis took over for Dodge, the SRT vehicles grew outside of Dodge into the Jeep brand and the Ram brand with the Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV and Ram 1500 pickup respectively. A recent episode of the Brembo Red podcast had Ralph Gilles, former CEO of SRT brand. He currently is the Chief Design Officer for Stellantis and hinted the future of the brand rests within the electric future we’ve hinted at before.

“It might be a combination of electrification and gas. The technology is there,” said Ralph Gilles.

How Soon Till The Dodge EV Party Begins?

We’ve heard word that Dodge has placed an order for transmissions from ZF Friedrichshafen in 2019, which is different from what is used in the Dodge brand today. The new fourth-gen transmissions purchased in 2019 have the option to include a built-in electric motor. The eight-speed gearbox is able to support the internal combustion engine with up to 160 kW and 450 Nm. These are the kind of leaks that lead to rumors and suggestions about where the brand is headed, for now, let us just appreciate some of the most fierce and firmly established muscle cars in production today, like the 2021 Dodge Challenger and Charger lineup. New 2021 Dodge Challenger Goes Back To Gold

Monday, December 14th, 2020

The Dodge brand is known for providing exclusive body colors to bring further attention to vehicles that already have numerous ways to grab the spotlight on the road. As if driving a strong, full-scale muscle car wasn’t enough for some drivers, the addition of the Gold Rush body-color returning yet again for the 2021 model year is another way to stand out. Originally known as “Fortuno’s Gold” when the 13th annual SoCal LX Springfest came around in 2018.

The truth is the parent company of Dodge, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), looked at the sales and figured the success the Gold Rush tint had was good enough. The body colors that are available for the 2021 model year include Frostbite, TorRed, Go ManGo, Hellraisin, and Sinamon Stick. The Widebody package that includes 20 inch wheels are available for the Gold Rush color as well. Which other trims come with this golden body color?

Which Trims Come With the Gold Rush Body Color?

The 2021 Dodge Challenger offers the Gold Rush on the Challenger T/A, T/A 392, T/A 392 Widebody trims. The optional body color paint comes with some requirements including having a Satin Black hood, decklid, and roof. The black and gold theme is kept throughout the vehicle. Dodge loyalists could not get their hands on this Gold Rush for the 2020 model, but for the 2021 model year, this iconic body color has returned. We already know three new trims will eventually come to the Dodge muscle car lineup. The standard SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye trims are also available for customers to purchase.

“Dodge offers a wide variety of performance models and powertrains, but we also have the same mindset when it comes to our extensive exterior color options. By bringing back Gold Rush to a few of our 2021 Challenger models, we’re giving our enthusiasts yet another option to make their muscle car even more unique,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America.

When To Expect the Gold Rush To Arrive?

The Dodge brand has said the dealer orders are open for the 2021 Dodge Challenger with Gold Rush paint with expectations to begin delivery in early 2021. Dodge Announces Hellcrate Redeye Engine

Ever wanted to add a better engine to make each drive more exciting? Dodge and Mopar, the parts and service distributor for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has just announced some great news. The most impressive production engine offered by Dodge is now available for purchase through a new Hellcrate package. The famed Dodge Hellcat Redeye V8 powertrain is now a crate offering through Mopar. This is no regular engine, as the output that drivers will experience is the 807-horsepower offering that will put a smile on any driver’s face.

Breaking Down the Best of Dodge Engineering

The Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock debuted earlier in 2020 and pushed the envelope of the Challenger muscle car even further than the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye did. This is the same engine used in the all-new SRT Super Stock, despite the Hellcat name. The SRT Super Stock uses the Hellcat Redeye engine and received enhancements that belonged to both the SRT Demon and SRT Hellcat Redeye. When speaking about this new offering, the head of FCA’s global head of passenger cars

2021 marks the year that Dodge is distilled to a pure performance brand with 700-plus horsepower models available across the entire Dodge lineup. The new 807-horsepower Hellcrate Redeye crate engine gives any pre-1976 vehicle owner another opportunity to become a member of the Dodge brotherhood of muscle by tapping into the Dodge//SRT power that wasn’t available then, but is now,” said Tim Kuniskis, FCA’s global head of passenger cars for Dodge in North America.

More On the Hellcrate

The cost of the high-powered engine crate is not for the faint of heart for both drivers that aren’t used to the HEMI V8 power or the high-cost of owning such a well-made engine. The expected listing cost will be $21,807 MSRP, but it is less expensive than the 1,000 horsepower Hellephane 426 supercharged V8 powertrain also available through Mopar (that engine costs just under $30,000 MSRP). Keep in mind, the Hellcrate Redeye is the most expensive and strong production-car engine that Mopar offers, and customers will be more than willing to swap out their engine for this high-performance engine.

Owners can also opt for the 707 horsepower that costs $20,215 MSRP. The larger supercharger and stronger bottom end with its forged alloy steel crankshaft, high-strength pistons, and powder-forged connecting rods are some of the highlights. Dodge Is Set To Offer Three New Muscle Car Trims Before Long

More new Dodge muscle is coming out of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (Soon to be known as Stellantis) before long. The future of the Dodge Challenger and Charger muscle car models will have three new additions. FCA has struck a three-year deal with a Canadian auto workers union, known as Unifor, to produce these three new variants of the Dodge Charger and Challenger. FCA has put together a new $50 million investment into the Brampton Assembly factory. There will be an influence of new trims to generate some energy into the Dodge brand.

Dodge Prepares For New Muscle Trim Options

Dodge generated quite a stir when it came out with the Street Racing Technology (SRT) Hellcat trim in 2015. The Challenger was the first Dodge to gain the SRT Hellcat and it was added to the Charger soon after, followed by the Dodge Durango this year. Dodge sought to push the envelope even further when it brought out the SRT Demon and SRT Hellcat Redeye. A new SRT Super Stock came out this year and for the foreseeable future, we think Dodge will eventually offer a new Barracuda trim for one, if not both muscle cars. Dodge also put together two new Widebody trim options for customers to choose from. The trim might be known as the Cuda, as FCA has listed for a trademark for Cuda. This nameplate would be a return for the Dodge brand, as the Barracuda was produced decades ago and ended in 1974.

Dodge Will Create New Trims Shortly

The arrangement FCA put together will forge together a multi-energy vehicle architecture that is set to offer new plug-in hybrid and new electric vehicles and building the batteries used with those EVs. The Windsor Assembly Plant will create around 2,000 jobs for FCA’s Canadian division. The retooling for the plant will help the brand build and produce these new EVs and the entire investment is supposed to be approximately $1.35 billion.

“FCA has maintained a strong footprint in Canada for nearly a century. Over the last decade, we have invested over $4 billion in our Canadian manufacturing facilities, more than any other OEM in the country and it is our intention to maintain this leadership,” said Mark Stewart, Chief Operating Officer of FCA North America.

AutoPacifica is a company that informs consumers and automotive manufacturers alike what new owners think of their experience. This month, AutoPacifica tallied all the responses and has given its annual awards to automotive brands. How satisfied were new vehicle owners of the 2020 Dodge Challenger? From the wide variety of syndicated studies (over 73,000 reported responses from drivers) came word that the famed Dodge muscle car is a hit and owners love driving it. This award is just the first of many to come for the latest Challenger. Taking home the prize of Sports/Sporty Car for the fourth year in a row shows how valued the Dodge product has become for not only the brand for its Dodge fanbase that loves what the Challenger offers.

Examining the AutoPacifica Award

The annual New Vehicle Satisfaction survey includes the data that is turned into awards known as VSAs. Across the wide range of vehicles, categories include new car, light truck owners, a variety of luxury car segments, and more are covered. Among the winners for the 2020 model year include winners from 17 brands, but only one fit the mold for the Sports Car selection. What makes this distinction important is how the process unfolds. Car shoppers can feel

“AutoPacific VSAs give consumers true, unbiased insight into which vehicles are providing their owners with the most satisfying experience,” says AutoPacific president George Peterson.

The 2020 Dodge Challenger scored high marks in 17 of 27 satisfaction categories. The highlights include its fun-to-drive character, power, braking, acceleration, exterior design, and passenger roominess. The Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock came out for the 2020 model year and offered an incredible array of strength from its 807 horsepower engine. The high-level engineering helped shoppers fall in love with the performance and handling provided. The upcoming 2021 model year will be no different as Dodge will include the naturally aspirated 6.4-Liter “392” HEMI engine into the Widebody Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker and T/A 392.

More on the Upcoming 2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker

The R/T Scat Pack Shaker, one of the most popular choices, will gain the remarkable cold-air grabbing Shaker, which helps blast cooler air into the powertrain is a major highlight. The V8 engine stays providing exhilarating performance with a faster cool down after moving at high speeds. The 2021 Challenger T/A 392 Widebody will also come with a painted Satin Black hood, Satin black wrap roof, and deck lid. The deck lid will have graphics that are paired to the T/A body-side stripes with Air Catcher headlamps with LED-illuminated T/A logos. Some of these traits were first introduced with the famed 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Want to know more about what else is coming for the 2021 Dodge Challenger? Dodge Has Improved Its Fastest Charger Ever

Dodge is currently witnessing a tremendous surge in recent months with its muscle car purchases. Despite the production slowdown and buyers holding off on spending for a great portion of 2020, the rebound is underway. Stellantis (Formerly Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) Head of Passenger Car Brands Tim Kuniskis, who overlooks Dodge, has seen the recent retail sales of the Dodge Challenger coupe and Charger sedan are up “significantly” from last July. This is intriguing news for fans of the Dodge brand. With the Dodge Challenger kicking off its best quarter ever, we know that Charger fans can expect the same. More good news is coming for shoppers with the arrival of the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye set to come out in late 2020.

Breaking Down the Numbers

Let’s look at those Challenger numbers. The sales for the Dodge Challenger rose up nicely with over 60,000 Challengers sold every year from 2015-2019. Back in 2010, only 36,791 were sold, so the growth is definitely obvious. Keep in mind, this comes despite commercial sales that have slowed down with the number of rental car companies holding off on adding any Challengers due to the long-lasting coronavirus pandemic that has slowed travelers. The Charger is going to gain a lift in purchases when its 2021 model year rolls out with its best Challenger yet. Fans of the Dodge Charger lineup have more insight on the outlook of trims, alternatives, and styles than ever before and Dodge has ensured customers will be happy. Best of all, the pricing starts at a low number compared to vehicles that offer the same amount of horsepower for other brands. Most ChargerWhile the bulk of Charger transactions are the base trim and the mid-range trims, the newest Challenger to come into the picture is revamped for the 2021 model year. The 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye has more to offer customers than any Dodge Charger that came before it.

What Makes the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye So Impressive?

Ever driven or been inside an SRT Hellcat? The world moves quickly in a hurry from point A to point B, so much so that owners will tell potential buyers its worth every penny. The value of speed and top-notch engineering is evident with every Dodge muscle car, but none more so than the 797 horsepower SRT Hellcat Redeye, beginning at $80,090 MSRP (Plus destination fee). This is the most robust mass-produced sedan in the world due in large part to its supercharged 6.2-Liter HEMI V8. The incredible horsepower is a hefty 80 more horsepower than the base Hellcat. The prized Hellcat Redeye engine is derived from the much-talked about Challenger SRT Demon. Opting for the SRT Hellcat Redeye in either the Charger or Challenger provides satisfaction that simply can not be overstated.

For those who want the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody, owners receive its additional 3.5 inches in its wider wheels and tires. The added inches will help make the Charger turn better as the tires can grip on a track more so than the standard version. The 2021 model year brings in new 20-inch wheels for the Hellcat and All-Wheel-Drive models. As the chart above shows, folks searching for more cost-effective choices can go with either the SXT or GT trim, which start around the $29,000 price point. For those that are thinking of paying more than double that to opt for the higher trims, they have exceptional performance that starts with the engine. The 6.2-Liter turbocharged engine is unlike any Dodge has ever built and its value is so important for owners, especially those that want to take their SRT Hellcat Redeye onto a drag strip or racing track.

Breakdown of the SRT Charger Hellcat Redeye

The price of the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will be set at the same cost it was last year, $71,490 MSRP (Plus destination fee). The base model SRT Hellcat has a healthy output from its large V8 HEMI, but buyers can choose the Redeye kit if they want to. The price of the SRT Hellcat Redeye is $80,090 MSRP (Plus destination fee). That number, oddly enough, equals to around $100 per horsepower for Dodge’s most robust Charger model. The SRT Hellcat Redeye symbolizes the fastest production sedan in the industry with its mind-blowing top-end speed of 203 mph. The Dodge brand notes the quarter-mile time the SRT Hellcat Redeye is just 10.6 seconds! The 707-horsepower 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat, meanwhile, can go as quick as 196 mph and will complete a quarter-mile time in only 11.0 seconds. That’s the kind of speed built for a race track and now customers can take this street-legal vehicle nearly anywhere on the road today.

Dodge Brand Is Rebounding Its Muscle Car Sales Quickly

Despite the longevity of the COVID-19 outbreak and its far-reaching grasp on every industry, it wasn’t going to last forever. Dodge has already begun to rebound and has seen demand skyrocket with greater sales in the past month or more. The Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger have increased tenfold in consumer sales with a number that will be reflected when the third-quarter results are released in about a month. According to Dodge, the one trim that has been the fastest-selling in the Scat Pack trim. In fact, the trim is so popular that it saw its inventory sold out this summer with no options for buyers searching for this trim for about a month. Dodge promised to restock this trim for both the Challenger and Charger and possibly add a larger order for the future.

“Our number one seller right now is the Scat Pack, and we probably have 200 Scat Packs in the whole country, they’re gone…by the middle of July we should have stock built back up,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger vehicles.

What Helped Drive Dodge Sales

Dodge found new ideas to produce further sales by creating its Dodge Power Dollars campaign in 2019 and continuing the promotion in 2020. For back-to-back years, the promotion was a vital part of helping grow sales and helping customers save money in the process. For every horsepower in the vehicle a customer was going to purchase, they would save $10. For any customer opting for the famed Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, that would amount to $7,970 in savings, as the 6.2-Liter turbocharged engine has 797 horsepower. Sales have picked up and Dodge sold 500 million worth of horsepower in vehicles sold last year and intends to reach a number not far off by the end of the year.

Powerful V8 Engine Anyone?

The goal of Dodge has been to extend new offers for customers so they can drive its latest lineup of V8 engines. From hitting super fast quarter-mile times to offering Widebody trims in both the Challenger and Charger muscle cars, Dodge is doing the most for its base. Since the 1960s, Dodge has produced the Charger. The Charger began as a concept vehicle designed back in the 1940s but became the vehicle that struck its iconic standing with what it has done in the late 1960s and the influence for the brand continues today. The 2020 Dodge Charger offers five trim levels, including the aforementioned SRT Hellcat Redeye.

Regaining Tremendous Sales Numbers

2020 started with higher sales figures over 2019 in January and February. The closing of many dealerships, if not all, for a certain amount of time in 2020 lowered the figure to just 7,875 new vehicles sold in April, but has more than doubled that number in the following two months. The expectation is to see that number climb to over 20,000 and grow as much as 30,000 a month before the end of 2020. Those are figures similar to what 2019 sales figures looked like. 900HP Dodge Challenger-SRT Hellcat

Dodge Hellcat 900HP

Dodge Hellcat 900HP900-horsepower?! People have been tinkering with their cars for years, trying to increase horsepower and pushing the limits of their engines. Dodge owners are no different. And, maybe even the 707-horsepower Hellcat engine may not feel like enough to some! The guys from the Hot Rod Network took on the challenge with the Dodge SRT Hellcat. The owner of a Dodge Charger, a family sedan I may add, also gave their car some fine tuning and turned it into the first Hellcat Charger to hit 900-horsepower.
