The long history of the Dodge brand goes back many decades, but regarding one particular nameplate, the Charger, we are going to highlight one concept that debuted but did not turn into what was originally shown to customers. While many Dodge vehicles have come and gone obvious, but the brand first brought out the Charger in 1999. As automakers look to the past sometimes when restoring an old nameplate or basing a new vehicle with cues from a former star vehicle, we can always look back to acknowledge the famed records of the Dodge brand. Long before the intentions of building a new EV Dodge concepts, we had the Charger concept that debuted before the world over 21 years ago.

Observing At the 1999 Dodge Charger R/T Concept

The modern buzz to hit the interwebz is the sports car that was the 1999 Dodge Charger RT concept. Back then, the Dodge Charger R/T was first rolled out a firm seven years before the Dodge brand would offer the same body in the Dodge Charger today. As the 2021 Dodge Charger, we are used to impressive handling, speed, and high-octane fun. We also can admire the perks that have come as a consequence of the Dodge brand producing back the 2021 Dodge Challenger. But, that story is for a different day; let’s get into what made the 1999 Dodge concept so attractive.

Dodge Brand’s 1999 Take With the Charger

Back when the entire Dodge brand was headed by the Chrysler brand that desired to put together the Dodge brand in a new light with many ideas that were never made, including a Jeepster concept. This Charger vehicle would end up as flagship vehicle for the brand, but that wasn’t obvious till the vehicle was highly-sought after in 2006. The Charger was first thought of as a sports car, not quite a muscle car, and the gas mileage was somewhat greater than many would imagine. The debut was at the 1999 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. This Dodge Charger concept was more like a Dodge Viper with its silky and extended exterior appearance. The R/T concept had a 4.7-Liter V8 naturally-aspirated engine. The total output was 325 horsepower and a stunning look that for some reason wasn’t turned into a production car.

Dodge added this vehicle to its lineup eventually, but the famed concept ended up in one video game despite never being put out. The Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition allowed this car as a possible choice for gamers back in 2005, a full six years later. The Dodge brand has tons of experience with building up the Charger to become one of the most celebrated muscle cars ever made. Want to test-drive one now? We can help make that potential at Miami Lakes Automall today!

Dodge Will Stick Around To Grow Its EV Future According To Dodge, Stellantis CEO

Dodge isn’t going anywhere. Every person involved in the automotive industry knows the future is headed towards electric vehicles. We’ve seen the growth of EVs and its onset for years. We’re pointed out all the upcoming advancements to look forward to, and our readers have seen the importance of why brands are making the shift now away from fossil fuels, which includes gasoline. Today, the landscape of vehicles has changed to include these remarkably powerful and fuel-efficient vehicles. So, what’s the problem with adding large V8 engines in single-passenger coupes like the Dodge Challenger? According to Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, nothing.

Future of Dodge Vehicles With Stellantis

There will be plenty of new Dodge vehicles that might not land on the “Top 10 Most Fuel-efficient Vehicles List of 2021”, but they were never meant to. Except, that, too might change one day if we see an all-EV Dodge muscle car like we were promised. The goal of Dodge is to reinvent itself with the mission statement it’s always carried, to be the best at creating muscle cars, and offer exhilarating high-octane driver experiences. Dodge will include even more Dodge muscle car trims for the brand with a rumor of as many as three new Dodge trims coming soon.

Word Straight From the Top

The truth according to Stellantis CEO is in the details that include the Dodge brand’s recent 700 to 800 horsepower vehicles. Those vehicles don’t meet the emissions standards and the electric power technology isn’t able to produce the same results. That hasn’t stopped the CEO from trying to push the evolution of Dodge to start sooner rather than later. We expect the Dodge brand to keep producing remarkably fast, exciting vehicles and the Dodge Durango, Charger, and Challenger will certainly have a future if the head of the company has anything to do with it. (He does).

“It’s something we have to work on. There are solutions for that. We have the technology to deliver the torque, dynamics, and acceleration feeling, while also dramatically reducing the emissions,” said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.

For more information on any of the newest Dodge products, count on us at Miami Lakes Automall to share the news. We’re excited for the future of the Dodge brand including a focus on EVs, but while that means we have no EV Dodge vehicles today, we do have plenty of wonderful choices that offer the power of Dodge as well as vehicles that offer much in the way of EV capabilities. Come in for a test-drive to experience Dodge muscle today!

SpeedKore Adds 1,000 Horsepower Engine To 1970 Charger For Kevin Hart

Ask any mechanic or true car enthusiast and they will reveal the trick to knowing how much worth a vehicle has can be found under the hood. As no doubt, owners can measure value by the strength of its engine and how said powertrain sings. The truth is for most customers, they might not be able to convince this to everyone in the family, but let us attempt. Seldom vehicle purchases require some forward-thinking and rationalizing. What exactly is too much power and intensity? Well, for some, like comedian Kevin Hart, there isn’t adequate horsepower in a standard Charger. The famed aftermarket super team at Speedkore has combined the most impressive Mopar/Dodge engine into a renewed 1970 Dodge Charger. This Hellphant V8 engine is the essence of what muscle cars are all about. Few vehicles can manage this remarkable engine’s strengths.

SpeedKore Pumps Up the Volume For Kevin Hart?

The Hellephant engine was originally showcased back at the 2018 SEMA exhibit and showed the world what a truly high-octane experience can offer drivers. The engine formally arrived in 2019 and offered the lucky owners of it a special Hellcat 6.2-Liter Supercharger V8 engine that carries 1,000 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque. This is no ordinary powertrain! Kevin Hart might have a hard time driving this vehicle considering its tremendous strength. The transmission attached to this classic 1970 Charger is right from the legendary 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon; a Demon-spec ZF 8HP90 8-speed automatic transmission and thus completes the perks afforded to the funny man’s impressive muscle car.

Mastering the Charger Rebuild

Oddly enough, SpeedKore has restored this same Dodge Charger muscle car; the 1970 model. Their previous revisit of this Charger produced their creation known as the “Evolution”. Some perks for that upgrade included a carbon-fiber body with parts from the 1970 Charger original and added as much as they could from the original 1970 Charger. The extension of Brembo brakes with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers ensure Kevin Hart will be protected when utilizing the brakes to stop this wonderful throwback of a muscle car.

We know plenty of our readers are hoping to drive a vehicle that makes them feel the surge of Dodge engineering. For those interested (and ones that could convince who they needed to) those buyers should look no further than Miami Lakes Automall. We know about all the high-octane powers afford by Dodge muscle cars. The comforts and perks that come with the most advanced Charger and Challenger have a special place for shoppers. No other vehicles can carry the intensity of these unique Dodge muscle cars. Find out more when you reach out to us!

Dodge is finally going to give customers what they have wanted for years. For the first time, Dodge will break out 20-inch wheels for both the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger. The muscle cars that have helped re-launch the success of the Dodge brand in the decade before last have never looked so bold and imposing. The 2021 Dodge Challenger and Charger will gain these 20-inch wheels on all All-Wheel-Drive models. Allow us to share all the details that are included with this first-ever 20-inch Dodge muscle car lineup.

Details Worth Knowing For the 2021 Dodge Muscle Car Lineup

The Dodge muscle cars that carry AWD come with the legendary 3.6-Liter Pentastar V6 gasoline engine that provides 300 to 305 horsepower, depending on which Dodge car. The standard 19-inch wheels look noticeably smaller and help create an aesthetic that could only come with aftermarket wheels. These 20-inch wheels are also placed deeper inside the vehicle, at 8 inches in, versus the 7.5-inch depth held with 19-inch wheels. The reason the wheels are placed deeper has to do with providing a way to allow for use of greater width of each tire. This allows drivers to have each tire (this is All-Wheel-Drive after all) provide optimal grip and traction. The exterior appearance benefits from this move as well, as the skinnier tires will no longer look as awkward. Not to mention, the perk of knowing the replacement tire is an easier find.

This package costs $2,695 for the 2021 Charger and $3,095 for the 2021 Challenger. Black Noise wheels also require the choice of the Blacktop Package. Dodge will update the Durango Pursuit to the 2021 model year. The refresh of the 2021 Dodge Durango will be a welcomed sight for customers, but the update is especially good news for the Pursuit team. The 2021 Dodge Durango includes the first-ever SRT Hellcat trim that offers its remarkable 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. The Pursuit team also includes the Dodge Charger Pursuit and is made solely for law enforcement officers. While regular customers can’t drive these particular vehicles, we go over some of the differences that will be available for the 2021 Dodge Durango and Charger models for customers.

More on the 2021 Dodge Durango Pursuit

The Durango Pursuit will be able to hold its own when called upon because it has got the strength and quickness needed to restrain crime. Mopar Insider has revealed that the 2021 Dodge Pursuit vehicles are slated for the R/T Tow N Go Package. This package includes the 5.7-Liter HEMI V8 engine and adds best-in-class maximum towing capacity at 8,700 pounds. The impressive top-end speed of 145 miles should be more than enough. Criminals would be foolish to even try to escape the police using the Pursuit models, including the Dodge Durango Pursuit that can go from 0-60 in as little as 4.4 seconds with a quick quarter-mile time of only 12.9 seconds.

All-Wheel-Drive Option For 2021 Dodge Charger Pursuit

The upcoming 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will carry an impressive 717-horsepower rating and receives a new top-speed of 203 mph. Customers can opt to own this vehicle later in 2020 while the 2021 Dodge Charger is going to see some changes of its own for the Pursuit package. The Pursuit package offers the base engine, the 3.6-Liter Pentastar engine, but that’s not all. The powertrain option for the more aggressive 5.7-Liter engine can be added. The 3.6-Liter engine comes with rear-wheel-drive, the option for all-wheel-drive is included. The Charger Pursuit contains driver and passenger doors with ballistic protection.

New Dodge Vehicles; Built For the Bold

Today, the Dodge Charger Pursuit is the bestselling law enforcement sedan on the road. With these reinvigorated Pursuit models advancing, we’re anticipating Dodge to bolster its presence for law enforcement everywhere. All perps and criminals don’t stand a chance of getting away from the latest Dodge Pursuit vehicles. Any police force that is serious about safeguarding their officers would be wise to supplement these vehicles into their fleet. For the rest of us, while civilian customers can not order these special Pursuit vehicles, the new 2021 Dodge Durango and Charger models will come out later this year during the fall. The Dodge Pursuit vehicles will be ready to order by September 2020. Check with us to learn more about all Dodge vehicles, including the newest Dodge lineup ready at Miami Lakes Automall!

Few movies ever become successful enough to come up with a sequel, but one can’t recall any other series to spawn over nine-films plus a spin-off film except for Star Wars. This is the case with the Fast and the Furious movie franchise. Now Lego has produced a 1:13 scale replica of the famed 1970 Dodge Charger R/T from the series. This is the muscle car owned by the main character in the first half of the Fast and Furious series, Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto. The sleek, polished black 1970 Dodge Charger R/T is the latest Lego Technic kit to join the new Lego “Technic” line. The vehicle is a memorable cast-member in some respects to the Fast and the Furious film. A memorable ’70 Charger R/T from the first film of the long-running franchise.

Relevance of the Dodge Charger

The black muscle car that went head-to-head with an orange Toyota Supra, the 1970 Charger R/T, stands out for many reasons. Remember, the 2020 Dodge Charger is still available in its current form. As owners of any muscle car can tell you, owning one is one of the most memorable and happiest feelings a driver can experience. The popularity of the Fast and the Furious franchise is not stuck on just a single vehicle, but no other vehicle stands out as a way of bringing to mind the origin of the “Fast” story. Drag racing and seeing who could win, whether by an inch or a mile, winning is winning” as Toretto famously said. We know all about winning with the fresh, new line-up of Dodge Charger and Challenger muscle cars waiting for our customers.

Breaking Down the Lego Technic 1970 Charger

Fans of Lego Technic and Fast and the Furious are sure to love this replica. It’s a 1:13 scale, 1,077-piece kit that includes a replica V8 engine with actually moving pistons. The kit also provides a wheelie bar and the well-known NOS tanks that are placed in the trunk. Even more hilarious is the toy fire extinguisher is kept inside of the cabin. This replica is fun to build and show off. After being assembled, the product is an accurate depiction of the old-school Charger.

Even though the Dodge Charger vehicles of the 1970s were very popular, the Dodge brand is enjoying its greatest run currently with surging success. Lego Technic choose the right vehicle at the right time and did a solid job of bringing out the Charger design. In regards to the Dodge Lego Technic, the final product looks fantastic. The details can be spotted even all over including the iconic headlights and taillights. Any person who loves the Fast and Furious franchise will appreciate this new Lego product.

Fast and the Furious Charger Still Popular

The Fast and the Furious franchise is still gaining fans. Fans of the film, especially those with young kids, definitely would love recreating the old-school Charger R/T provided with this Lego kit that has begun taking offers and is expected to start its sale date on April 27, 2020. The next Fast and the Furious is set for a pushed back release date, however. The next movie, Fast and Furious 9, saw its original date of May 22, 2020 pushed back to next year. The ninth installment will come to theaters in April 2021. Our readers won’t have to wait that long to drive new Dodge Muscle cars. Curious to get started in that process? We make it fast and simple to do so at Miami Lakes Automall
