How Dodge Is Reshaping the Hornet

Hornet Miami Lakes Automall driving

Not many brands are striving to revitalize the past fully like the Dodge brand. Over the years we have seen the retrieval of the Dodge Daytona muscle car come in a special edition and different trims and packages that invoke a marvel of their roots. From the diverse Dodge nameplates that have come and gone, one is returning soon for the muscle car brand. Dodge is getting back some flavor and some burst after sourcing for motivation for the 2023 Dodge line-up. A bit of racing force has come into play as well for the configurations that have been revealed and Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, is moving to deliver EV technology for this latest entry of the famed Hornet. The brand will enter in on some of the fun as stories say the vehicle will be produced on the ICE platform. The 2023 Dodge Hornet is predicted to supersede the Durango in future years as a compact crossover that crams some serious speed into its capabilities.

More Details On the Hornet: A Possible EV?

The Hornet is anticipated to also be battery-electric mobility with an increased MPG that will provide greater deals for the forthcoming decade. The Dodge Hornet is accumulating a lot of its innovation perks from the Tonale. While the headlights and headlamps will vary, the cabin and interior are whispered to have borrowed some cues from the Dodge product. The next intel we’ve uncovered is the 12.5-inch digital cluster that will be a primary highlight. Drivers and passengers alike will appreciate the 10.25-inch color touchscreen as the main focus of the infotainment system. There will be added elements like standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto abilities and wireless phone mirroring and charging with some Level 2 semi-autonomous driving aids that will include lane-centering and traffic jam assist to stop crashes at reduced speeds.

The engine is still not ratified, but we might see what forces fellow Stellantis brand Jeep and its Jeep Compass compact SUV. If this is the case, the Hornet will have a 2.0-Liter inline-four engine and maybe a hybrid alternative. The length of the vehicle is about 178.4-inches including a wheelbase of 103.8 inches. The tech carried from the Alfa Romero brand includes tight handling, a 13:6:1 steering ratio, Brembo brakes for ultimate stopping ability, and torque vectoring with optional adaptive dampers on high-series variants. The 2023 Dodge Hornet is still months from seeing a genuine reveal, but we’ll learn more as summer goes about what to anticipate and when this all-new Dodge Hornet entry will soar and leave us all stung.

Dodge Improving Appeal For Die-Hard Muscle Fans

Dodge knows buyers want the speed and seductive power provided with its muscle cars. But, we ask if our readers know the coming changes to the Dodge brand. We have learned the Dodge Challenger will no longer carry a manual Challenger option; but that will be announced formally by the brand at some point. The true glimpse of what to expect is almost upon us for the 2024 Dodge muscle EV lineup, as production would begin in just over a year. The sizing of these vehicles should be around the same, as HotCars.com speculates the vehicle will be larger due to its power output and charging requirements. The eMuscle, as they refer to it as, is the popular topic both online and what we hear from buyers every day in 2022.

The word on the street for the Dodge muscle car should still offer around 400-650 horsepower and the top of the line SRT Hellcat trim is possibly change with the EV capabilities coming to the brand. We don’t have the exact numbers, but perhaps as little as $55,000 or $60,000 MSRP is the expectation for this. Dodge is rumored to have as many as “six all-electric vehicles currently in the styling studio in Auburn Hills, Michigan.” There is also news that “at least one, but probably several plug-in hybrids” are slated to be created. Whether this is concept vehicles or the turning of a new leaf for the Dodge brand, the report from The Detroit Bureau has Dodge making big changes. While this news is nothing new, we now have some more light shed on what is expected to change for the brand.

Where Does Dodge Go Next? Only Up From Here!

Dodge has seen growth over the last few years in sales that should top those lofty pre-pandemic numbers set in 2019. Dodge had started to bring the focus away from creating wildly strong horsepower vehicles like the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock. However, there was a promise to continue the SRT (Street Racing Technology) vehicles for the near future. While these are the most impressive vehicles for any owner to want, they aren’t meeting the goal of what the future holds for the Dodge brand and its EV intentions.Count on us to provide our readers with the new details that will make them embrace and crave these new vehicles coming from Dodge.

Meet the Modern 1969 Dodge Charger Hellcat

Dodge-1969-Miami-Lakes-Automall

The Fast and the Furious might want to stop production on their tenth-film and try to out his the customer from New Zealand that crafted this beauty. Like a specialty whip made just for Hollywood, one specialty body group put 4,000 hours into a very strong and special combination. Ever thought what a 1969 Dodge Charger would look like with a hellacious Hellcat powertrain? The Ring Brothers, the auto body shop found in Wisconsin, traveled to multiple countries to put all the finishing touches on this ride. Let’s look at what they crafted out of love and care.

Ready, Set, Action! A Dodge Classic Returns

At Miami Lakes Automall, we truly love when a classic Dodge muscle car is restored like this, we see the surge of interest for these vehicles that are beloved for so many. The new wave of Dodge vehicles coming out by 2025 will carry EV technology, so we suggest to our reader that now is the right time to buy our modern Dodge vehicles. EVs still will offer immense horsepower and contain a high resale value, as all Dodge rides do. However, the iconic era of Dodge muscle has been going on for some time and the next generation of Dodge engineering is upon us. That said, we are happy to help our customers drive new and pre-owned Dodge products today.

Seamless Iconic Looks, Modern Parts Underneath

The Ring Brothers shop placed a Hellcat crate that offers customers a striking 707 horsepower. This is due to the Hellcat 6.2-Liter V8 HEMI stand alone engine that can be inserted inside many late model Dodge muscle cars. This crate is ready for those buyers hoping to jump start their aging vehicles with modern tech, as is the case with this 1969 Dodge muscle car. They gave us a taste of modern engineering with the iconic style of yesteryear. A lush interior was retouched with Upholstery Unlimited leather seating and modern technology on the inside. Baer 6-piston brakes, adjustable shocks, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, and a fresh MoTeC engine-management system with gauges. They painted the Charger with a custom BASF “Pile Up Yellow” finish that rides on custom HRE wheels; sized 19” x 11” up front and 20” x 13” at the rear. This team really went ham into this upgrade as the Charger was restored with love and care. To the lucky owner goes the Hollywood-ready iconic muscle spoils.

Dodge Leaps and Bounds Ahead of Chevy and Ford

Thursday, January 6th, 2022
2021 Dodge Kendall Dodge

The Dodge Challenger was the leading muscle car of 2021, ending up ahead of the Ford Mustang for the first time since 2015. The Dodge muscle ride sold 54,314 vehicles, a 3% growth over its 2020 tally. The Ford Mustang sold 52,414 muscle vehicles and it slowed down 14% from 2020. The changing of the guard has been coming for a long time and the Dodge brand is happy to know it’s sold more than the Chevrolet Camaro as well, a vehicle that only sold 21,893 vehicles in 2021. We can’t even imagine how much higher the sales will be after the Dodge EV lineup comes out.

From the Top Selling to the Most Unique Sales of 2021

At the beginning of every year we look back at some of the sales totals from the previous year. There were quite a bit of tempting choices that were sold as new vehicles from Stellantis in 2021. Among the options were four new Dodge Viper vehicles, as many as 10 Dodge Darts and even more vehicles that have been concluded. The Chrysler Town & Country, Chrysler 200, and Jeep Patriot were also moved in 2021 as well. There was a time when the Dodge Viper sports car was a sizzling hot option, but half a decade has gone by since the last production vehicle debuted as the 2017 Dodge Viper. The Dodge Dart on the other hand, the Dart has not been in production since last being built in 2015. The Chrysler Town & Country dealt only four vehicles, but the Town & Country was last made in 2016.

Jeep Patriot Sells More

The Jeep Patriot SUV crossover ran its course and the production run ended in 2016. The Belvidere Assembly Plant last saw one roll off the production chain in December 2016. There were actually 16 units sold in 2021 and that was an outstanding 433% difference from 2020. Not that Stellantis is going to revive any of these vehicles as they have provided customers with a wide slew of options. The 2022 Jeep lineup contains more choices than ever before for shoppers. The new year has brought many perks for those looking to upgrade their current ride and we can’t wait to help put on some smiles on the faces of our customers at Miami Lakes Automall.

Want More Horsepower From Your Challenger? Dodge Can Help

Wednesday, December 29th, 2021
2021 Challenger Miami Lakes Automall

Muscle car aficionados hoping to start the new year off right will have the chance to do so. Owners of late-model Challengers will now gain a tad more backing to upgrade their stock power from the Dodge brand. The automaker conveyed this month from its Auburn Hill, Michigan headquarters that it intends to proceed to release a series of Direct Connection parts and performance-enhancing kits for late-model Challengers. The rollouts include 14 new kits for Challengers and 13 race-ready kits and four graphics products for the new Dodge Challenger Mopar Drag Pak.

The Dodge Challenger kits include “Tuner” and “Stage” products set the horsepower to even increased heights of 885 horsepower in the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye and as much as 750 horsepower in the Challenger SRT Hellcat. Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye owners can choose among three basic performance kits, including a pre-stage package that contains a performance air cleaner, a low-temperature thermostat, and a pre-loaded 50-state emissions-legal calibration geared to add up to five horsepower to the engine.

Owners Can Gain More With Various Stage Upgrades

For drivers, the Stage I upgrades hands owners’ entry to calibration, delivering up to 850 horsepower and 770 foot-pounds of torque. And a Stage II upgrade kit includes the highly beloved “Hellephant” equipment including the same engine pulley as well as a code to establish calibration that extends engine capacity to a stunning 885 horsepower and 787 foot-pounds of torque. Owners of a Challenger SRT Hellcat can order a pre-stage package with a tuner and calibration that provides another five horsepower to the engine and passes for future upgrades, like the Stage I kit that includes a “Hellephant” and calibration invented to boost engine performance to 757 horsepower and 696 foot-pounds of torque. Direct Connection will also feature car parts created to upgrade Challengers with kits that contain cylinder heads, 41-spline half shafts, driveshafts, differential assemblies, drivelines, and torque converters. Dodge is finalizing each part available as an entire installation kit. Reach out to us to get started on making an online service appointment for the update.

“Direct Connection will continue its rollout next year with a lineup of 200-plus parts, and with a network of Dodge Power Brokers dealers trained and equipped to help enthusiasts take that performance to the next level. The opening of orders for Direct Connection performance parts in the first quarter of 2022 is just the start — the lineup of Direct Connection products and Dodge Power Brokers dealers will continue to grow in the years ahead,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge Brand Chief Executive Officer at the automaker’s parent company Stellantis.

Dodge Building Something Special

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021

Dodge saw their Challenger surpass the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro in 2021. So progress has continued for the brand. The forthcoming “Never Lift” program is sure to be a success for all Dodge fans and owners alike. Keep in mind, the celebrated run for the mean Dodge muscle machines has persisted as long as it has this time around because of high-powered manufacturing and plans that include over 800 horsepower stock in some of these vehicles. The next couple years will include more than trim packages with appearance upgrades; as we’ve been told. The Dodge brand has been in the news making waves and all sorts of noise to a positive response with its EV muscle car set to debut in less than two years

Speculation On 2022 and What Dodge Will Do

Now, customers are asking what else is coming out? Dodge is remaining tight-lipped about the next moves as they will wait for 2022 to arrive before announcing or showcasing any more new vehicles. Dodge is moving ahead for the customer and critics alike. Despite the onset of the future Dodge EV collection, we will nevertheless sell impressive muscle cars of today, as Dodge CEO has affirmed multiple times. We’re just sure the days of the electric muscle will grab the attention of many shoppers, but early on they might not be too keen on the product. Customers that are looking for the appropriate choice, enjoy the sound of a fierce Dodge engine that we have ready to go. A spokesperson for Dodge has seen this about the future of the brand just this month.

“[We haven’t] spoken to any of those outlets. The Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger vehicle platforms as you know them today, along with the Hellcat powertrain, will continue production through 2023. In 2024, Dodge will transition to new platforms, new electrified muscle cars (the next generation of that platform will be a BEV, which will be shown in concept-car form Q1 or Q2 2022). We will release additional details in regard to our future Dodge product plans over the next 24 months.”

What Was the Dodge Polara Muscle Car?

Friday, December 17th, 2021

Dodge is expanding to new EV efforts, so many customers are speculating if they will still pack the same power the brand has offered for decades. The long-time fans of the brand might be shocked to see an electric Dodge muscle car. Those who remember the 1960s will know the Dodge golden era of muscle. The 1960 Dodge Polara was the first-ever muscle car made by the Dodge brand in the 1960s and wound up being the most successful Dodge nameplate with success lasting the entire decade. The stretch from 1960 through 1970 when the Dodge Challenger overtook the Dodge brand as its top-flight Dodge vehicle. The Dodge brand has seen their muscle car sales grow to figures that are comparable to pre-Covid-19 numbers.

A History of the Dodge Polara

The Dodge Polara saw its first-generation range from 1960 to 1961 and after two years, the second-generation was presented as the figures from 1961 declined 50% from the year before. The 1962 Dodge Polara was the start of a smaller muscle car that saw its wheelbase shortened to 116 inches. The Dodge Polara would offer its third-generation from 1965 and 1968 with the muscle car going into a full-size C platform build. The Polara replaced the Dodge 880 and was the top vehicle for the brand. The Dodge Polara ended with its fourth-generation that came out in 1969 and served for five years. The 1973 Polara was the last one made as the Dodge brand formed the Monaco to supersede the vehicle in 1974. The Dodge Polara was vended as a Classic car for $18,113 on October 14th, 2020 at an auction in Toronto, Canada to give buyers a notion of the tremendous resale significance affixed to all Dodge vehicles.

Dodge Muscle Cars Are Changing For the Better

Dodge has seen their muscle cars of today expand to wild horsepower numbers, as much as 800 horsepower with modern help ramping up the final product. Dodge has put a lot of stock into making their vehicles maximize their prospects by withdrawing certain trims or vehicles to get the most out of the brand. One vehicle that might alter is the Durango that could pivot into a new vehicle. Look at the modifications coming, but know the awards the brand has garnered has pointed to the right direction with distinctions being named for the brand quite often.

Dodge Spending Billions To Improve Software & Technology

Thursday, December 9th, 2021

The changes of the pandemic are widespread, both for consumers and automakers. The one constant is the hope to see life change for the better and quickly, but luckily we are seeing the results of new goals and future endeavors of massive brands pumping tons of money into innovation. The results are beginning to show as Dodge is moving away from traditional, same ol’, same ol’ entries with new energy and creations for buyers. The truth also can be found that currently, there are not enough vehicles to go around as demand is growing rapidly for these new vehicles.

How the CEO Approaches New Challenges

The CEO of Stellantis, Carlos Tavares, has addressed this as recent as this week a few weeks before 2022 arrives, how popular this year has been for car sales. When speaking before journalists, Tavares had this to say. The next move for the brand is ramping up production towards the electrified muscle cars, but a large focus is knowing many people want the current vehicles Dodge has.

“My order book is going through the roof. People want to buy cars. It’s amazing. It’s as if we have all discovered through the COVID crisis how important it is to protect our freedom of mobility. And therefore, what’s the best way to protect my freedom of mobility is to have a car,” Tavares remarked while at a former Dodge Viper plant now known as the Conner Center.

Dodge Moves Ahead With Software Upgrades

The collection of Dodge vehicles has changed from cars like the Dodge Viper to more consumer-approved, fuel-friendly options. Over the course of this next decade, we will see even better options added for consumers. Battery electric vehicles are more expensive to manufacture; they are as much as 50% more expensive. The source of Dodge and other Stellantis brands’ innovation comes from software expansion. The better they are strategizing, the better the vehicles will be for consumers. There is no doubt the Dodge brand is making waves. Dodge has put together $22.6 billion dollars towards upgrading their software and changing the driving experience with “software-enabled products” and subscription services. The Stellantis brand is also trying to build on its autonomous vehicle development with its established partnerships with both BMW and Waymo. In total $34 billion has gone into electrification and these software developments through 2025.  For those interested in driving the new Dodge muscle cars, check with us at Miami Lakes Automall!

New 2022 Dodge Durango Gains R/T Plus Trim

Tuesday, November 30th, 2021

Dodge is no stranger to offering customers exactly what they want most. The Dodge brand has been in the news making waves and all sorts of noise to a positive response with its EV muscle car set to debut in less than two years. We can be assured the Dodge brand is set to offer a slew of outstanding vehicles that are electrified and awesome, but for now, the latest news is focused on what we have today. The current Dodge vehicle that is receiving some attention is the famed, tried-and-true Dodge Durango SUV. The 2022 Dodge Durango will add an R/T Plus trim that is going to gain much of the luxury options that make the cut for the higher trims.

What Comes with the R/T Plus?

Drivers looking to opt in to a vehicle that supplies luxurious features, but don’t want to go to the highest trim sets can look no further than the R/T Plus when the Durango SUV arrives for the 2022 model year. The equipment added to the Technology Group includes the adaptive cruise control feature, safety features like forward collision warning, advanced brake assist support, lane departure warning and makes the drive of a Durango that much more enjoyable. However, this is a group add-on, as features can be opted for or not, as owners can also decide on the Premium Interior Group that adds an upgraded instrument panel for owners. A suede headliner is also included with perks that make life easier to safely drive like Safety and Security Systems’ blind-spot detection. The power sunroof makes for a stunning appearance feature that is one of the many perks afforded with the Premium Interior Group. Owners have luxurious add-ons that include the 19-speaker, 825-watt Harman Kardon audio system, plus the Nappa leather seating and among the sharper looking SUV interiors on the market.

An SUV Fit For A King

When opting for the Durango, a massive-interior is provided that includes seating for seven comfortably, with space for more. We are not sure if there will be a return for large second-row captain’s chairs for the R/T Plus, but the option is a feature for the higher trims. For the rear-wheel-drive version of the 2022 Dodge Durango R/T Plus, the price is set at $53,820 MSRP (Plus destination fees). For those that want to get started on driving a new Dodge Durango, speak with us at Miami Lakes Automall today to get the holiday season started off in a marvelous way. NASCAR Removed Dodge’s Fastest Car Once Half A Century Ago

Thursday, November 18th, 2021

History reminds us sometimes when humans are too successful; one such example is the Dodge Daytona that was once banned by NASCAR for simply being too fast. Now, in the 1960’s NASCAR and racing was widely popular and successful, so how could a vehicle that was just as remarkable face any restrictions? The Dodge Daytona car hit speeds over 200 mph and was no longer allowed to compete in NASCAR event racing. This was first done by legendary NASCAR driver Buddy Baker who was the one to go over 200 miles per hour on March 24, 1970, at the famed Talladega racing track. After that, the Dodge Daytona proceeded to win six more races. After this success, NASCAR officials were left with no choice but alter the rules to ban cars with certain attributes, like the huge wing these Dodge vehicles held. New aero rules were put in place by 1971, but vehicles like the 1969 Dodge Daytona were able to seriously earn some speedy races before winning and taking out all the competition.

Dodge Removed From NASCAR After Success

With the rear stabilizer wing, fender-mounted cooling scoops for braking, and a sheet metal cowl over the front grille, this was a vehicle built for game-changing speed. Keep in mind, the 1969 Dodge Daytona did that with style as the rules changed to prohibit this vehicle from hitting the race track. Dodge and Plymouth were the two brands that were told they could not use their vehicles to race competitively. The Superbird from Plymouth was the other aero-vehicle that was completely banned at all NASCAR events. They were simply ahead of their time, but now Dodge has found a path to get customers interested in reliving their winning ways with faster than ever vehicles and a modern touch tossed in as well to boot. Don’t forget, Dodge loves their special edition throwbacks built on their modern platform

Looking Back At the 1969 Dodge Daytona and Most Recent Daytona Offering

Readers should note, the 1969 Dodge Daytona was one of only 500 vehicles produced and can find prices that cost over $150,000 MSRP now. Dodge paid homage to the iconic Daytona racing cars of that era with an available special-edition 2020 Dodge Charger Daytona widebody muscle car with the newest platform getting a unique Daytona appearance. This new Dodge Charger package arrived with a price tag over $110,000 MSRP, but for those looking for them, they were quite a rare discovery. Just as unique as the 1969 Daytona is to find today. The folks at Mecum Auctions and businesses like theirs are where drivers look to find these restored classics, but for those that want to own the most aggressive and new Dodge vehicles, rush to Miami Lakes Automall today to get the process started.

Interested in checking out how a Dodge Charger looks and feels? A test-drive is all some customers need to have to understand the intensity and fun of a Dodge muscle car. Rush over to Miami Lakes Automall, where we are ready to show off our vehicles and welcome everyone to see them live in person or over the web as we cater to our customers everywhere!
