Dodge All Set For New Long-Term Muscle Production Run

When we think about the lifespan of a vehicle, most vehicles see their production run end before they can reach a second generation. Some brands will wait about five years before adding a new generation, only offering refreshes. A refresh is when a vehicle is upgraded to a more significant degree than the previous model year. There is an even more massive change to a vehicle when a new generation is put together. This means a difference of most of the components that can change the wheel size, the entire length, volume and scope as well.

Dodge Knows A Thing Or Two About Longevity

Dodge was able to produce the Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger in 2006 and 2008, respectively. These vehicles were not only able to survive on the same platform from then till now, they offered special edition packages but more or less remained the same inside as far as it’s construction was concerned. That longevity is astounding and unheard of, but was placated on the ability to maintain sales and improve the engine and offerings for customers. Now Dodge is back to the drawing board with this new generation that will have to sustain a similar value, though we hope there will be a new generation that comes sooner than the previous incarnation of their fierce muscle cars. That’s a remarkable length and Dodge is geared to make their battery-electric vehicles carry a similar production run with this next generation of all goes well.

Ramping Up BEVs Across the Board

Stellantis saw their sales of BEVs increase as much as 41%, in just one year. They went from 204,000 BEVs produced in 2021 up to 288,000 BEVs in 2022. The next generation Charger or Challenger (whichever they decide on nameplate-wise) will most likely be a BEV. An investment of another $155 million was just announced by Stellantis that should help further push their brands into the new electrified present and ongoing future for customers ahead. The pursuit to bring buyers the latest technology is going to not only drive sales but how many customers receive a greater return on their investment both while using their ride and after they move on from the experience.

The 2023 model year is the last model year to include the solely combustion engine offerings as the electric Dodge muscle car is expected to begin with the 2024 model year class. The time is and has been running out for those who are still thinking Dodge is running the same ol’ business as usual campaign. Allow us to repeat, buyers chances of driving the current Dodge lineup is ending quite soon!

What Is Horsepower? Why Dodge Carries So Much of It

Dodge Kendall Dodge
Dodge//SRT Performance Lineup: Durango SRT Hellcat, 2021 Challenger SRT, Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye (left to right)

We enjoy riding in Dodge vehicles just as much as our customers. At Miami Lakes Automall, part of the fun of selling and leasing vehicles is getting to see all the ins and outs of these remarkable Dodge muscle cars. What are muscle cars known for? Delivering top-notch power and being fast. So how does a muscle car or any vehicle engine supply horsepower when driving and which current Dodge vehicle offers the most horsepower? Let’s begin explaining how horsepower works.

Brief History of Horsepower Creation

The term horsepower was originally coined back in 1702 as a way to measure the amount of movement over time. One horsepower equals 550 pounds across one foot in one second of time. The actual notes regarded by Thomas Savery in 1702 help explain how the measurements back then were made when comparing a steam engine to the production of horses. Savery wound up noting that a horse could turn a mill wheel 144 times in an hour, then he measured the length of the wheel (what the horse was moving) and came up with a formula to figure out “horsepower”.

“(Steam) engine will raise as much water as two horses, working together at one time in such a work, can do, and for which there must be constantly kept ten or twenty horses to constantly maintained and kept for doing such a work.” -Thomas Savery, Scottish Engineer

Horsepower In the Automotive Industry

Horsepower when used with engines, this work is frictionless with regards to how gas energy works. A device called an engine indicator tracks the pressures from within the cylinders to note horsepower. There are actually a few ways to test the number of ways how power and torque can be measured from a vehicle. Torque is a moving force that is made by the engine’s crankshaft. The more torque created by the engine, the greater the engine’s ability to perform work is. Power is the final definition to go over, which is how fast work happens. James Watt came up with one horsepower being the power required to lift 33,000 pounds and move one foot per minute. So keeping this in mind, the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat produces 797 horsepower (the highest horsepower available today for Dodge customers) at 6000 RPM.

Dodge Keeps Pushing the Horsepower Limit

Dodge has raised the level of the horsepower in their vehicles over the years, just going back to the 2010 Dodge Challenger has a maximum horsepower rating of 425 horsepower, today owners can get over 800 horsepower! There are ways to increase horsepower in a vehicle, including adding a cold air intake or adding nitrous oxide (if you want to be a Fast and Furious racer). Have more questions about horsepower? Reach out to us to find out about the latest Dodge muscle car and we can talk some real horsepower!

Dodge Challenger Secures Top-Selling Muscle Car of 2022

Dodge Challenger Miami Lakes Automall

Congratulations to another impressive year of sales for the Dodge Challenger. Despite gearing towards the very productive run before the new electric muscle car generation arrives, Dodge wasn’t going to have a letdown by their flagship product. In 2022, the Dodge Challenger was the top selling muscle car ahead of rivals Chevrolet and Ford, ahead of the Camaro and Mustang muscle cars.

Dodge produced sales of 55,060 Challengers sold in 2022, listing a bit of an increase over the 54,314 Challengers moved in 2021. That figure is more than double the amount of Chevrolet Camaros that GM sold in 2022, a low response of a mere 24,652 units. Despite dropping below both the Challenger and Mustang in total sales, 2022 was okay for the Camaro. Those 24,652 cars mark a sales rise of 12.6% over 2021. That movement in interest came without significant upgrades to the Camaro lineup, which has remained complacent in recent years. Many people think that GM will disgard the Camaro by 2025 or so.

The most memorable fact is Ford only moving 47,566 Mustangs in 2022! This total represents the single lowest annual sales total of the entire Ford Mustang production run. Numbers were lower by 9.2 percent compared to 2021, further falling from 14.2 percent compared to 2020.

Dodge grown their brand in that time with Challenger brother product, the Charger though not in the same segment, still selling 80,074 units. This is a noteworthy item to keep in mind how far ahead Dodge has come. The Dodge Charger saw a two percent gain over 2021. With the all-electric Charger SRT Daytona Concept arriving next year, we have only one Challenger to look forward to from this current generation. The “Last Call” special edition model, with the final special edition ready to debut on March 20 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Gearing Up For the EV Debut For Dodge

Aside from earning the top sales position on the muscle and pony car sales rankings for the second consecutive year, the well-publicized end of generation lineup did not effect sales. Now we await the all-new EV launch, as the Challenger has no challengers yet again. 2022 marked a somewhat return to normal business after the pandemic for many, including orders for muscle cars across the industry. This is why we celebrate the customers all over the nation honoring Dodge. Their brand built these long lasting, heart-racing cars and they earned the top sales thanks to premiere handling and wicked fast speeds at an affordable clip.

Ending A Generation of Firsts

Dodge is moving out on the gas combustion muscle car, but keep in mind it’s run was a massive success through the powerhouse that remains in the 2018 Dodge Demon, through the Challenger special editions that included the 2020 Super Stock that helped raise the brand to earning more sales than any muscle car on the Dodge brand’s current hot sales streak.

Dodge Hornet Brings Massive Attention In 2023

Dodge has placed a lot of emphasis on growing the brand with EV options. Among those is the new Dodge Hornet, a mid-sized SUV that is based off the Alfa Romeo platform. Those EV options will be offered in the upcoming Dodge mid-size vehicle. The Alfa Romeo Tamale is a popular SUV option that is a focal point for their SUV success. Dodge naturally wanted to put the vehicle in a safer environment. The Dodge Hornet nameplate first reached the public display at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show as a thoughtful and forward-thinking concept for a mid-size SUV.

Dodge Building Next-Gens With 2023 Release

The Dodge brand has put forth a new series known as the “Last Call” for buyers to get their hands on the new 2023 Dodge Charger and 2023 Dodge Challenger special editions expected to debut out in a small variety. We’ve discovered six special edition rides available for customers in a short supply, as little as 200 or 300 vehicles were made depending on the vehicle. Dodge has put together the Kelley Blue Book’s Best Car Styling Brand Image award for the 4th year in a row. The first and highly anticipated Dodge electric EV is close to seeing its production run reach dealerships as a year or so from now we will have them. The vehicle is “so brilliant that it is shocking,” Carlos Tavares, CEO of parent company Stellantis, stated with regards to the Dodge brand and its future flagship muscle car.

The massive goal to offer a dual-EV-battery offers optimistic points of view that have directed the brand from the top to every engineer. We’re more than excited to see the coming months and years ahead as the launch of these next-gen vehicles comes next year. For now, as we’ve prompted our readers to note, now more than ever is the final streak of months to gain access to this current generation of muscle cars. That’s a worthwhile thought when car shopping. Want to buy or lease the newest Dodge rides? Come to us at Miami Lakes Automall to make 2023 begin in a special way!

Influencers Pushing Idea of Dodge Dakota Pickup Once More

A Dodge Dakota pickup would probably surprise many, especially if brought back as an EV, but we can say for some buyers today, the amount of electric vehicles coming out is perhaps something to take note in terms of expectations that gasoline cars, trucks, and SUVs are being phased slowly out. By 2030, expect as many as half of vehicles on the road to have some electrified capacity and that number will grow even higher by 2040.

Dodge has made it their business to create performance-oriented vehicles and has carved out a unique car manufacturer fanbase. The brand still has a full-throttle gasoline lineup of powerful, incredibly fast performance rides, more than any brand for Stellantis. The Hellcat are a trim for every Dodge vehicle including the muscle duo of the Dodge Charger and Challenger as well as the Dodge Durango SUV that supplies the Hellcat trim bonuses that crank out the highest horsepower and torque, making each among the fastest vehicles in their individual segments. Now, could Dodge look to bring a former nameplate to help create revenue in an old segment they currently don’t occupy? That being true, Dodge doesn’t have any set plans to make a Dakota pickup, but that won’t hinder graphic artists from creating images that sometimes gain attention from fans and Dodge might begin to notice eventually and perhaps make a concept of demand hits a fever pitch. Dodge gave the Dakota nameplate to Stellantis brand brother Ram, but that doesn’t run out the possibility; at least in the United States at some point.

Mid-Size Option To Be Had
Regarding the mid-size pickup market that the Dodge brand currently doesn’t tap into any longer, but some believe this could be an area Dodge ventures into. Rendering a more traditional ‘Dodge Ram Dakota with an “SRT” flare, artists render images that displayed the digital versions of the classic Ram 1500 mixed with the Dakota pickup truck. Would Dodge come up with a supercharged 6.2-Liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine in a Durango-based pickup? This is the thought behind such a reinvention to create a supercharger truck. Our readers should know the coming changes to the Dodge brand probably won’t be like this, but what if?

Possibility of a Dodge Dakota Hellcat?

We’ve recently witnessed a different CGI take by a virtual automotive artist that brought his vision for the Dodge Ram Dakota Hellcat mixed with Ramcharger V8 SUV. Keep in mind, the first version of the Dodge Ramcharger was a full-size two-door SUV competing with the likes of the contemporary Chevy K5 Blazer and Ford Bronco.

With a long production run from 1974 through 1993 in the United States and in Mexico with a third-generation built running from 1999-2001 created on the short wheelbase Dodge D Series/Ram pickup truck platform. Stellantis as part of their portfolio can say they built a Plymouth Trail Duster sibling, the latter brand’s only SUV.

Will Dodge go out of their way to produce a new kind of pickup to add another choice to their Hellcat? They can certainly try to begin a run at the pickup segment, but only time will show if they can put this as an option on a new successful run. but if there’s one thing we know, that pickup will be the fastest among the pickup industry, no doubt. The height for the Dakota was at the beginning of the century as the vehicle sold as much as 177,394 vehicles in 2000 alone. The Ram brand had put out a version of the Dakota found in some Middle Eastern countries as the Ram 1200. The twenty-five year run was an accomplishment, but if all goes well, we will be possibly witnessing and experiencing a lengthy new run all its own. For those who want to begin the buying or leasing process, talk with us at Miami Lakes Automall.

Winter Travel Safety Tips For the Holidays

The holidays are when most drivers get back on the road and go driving long distances. With snow and sleet a possible obstacle, keep in mind that chaining up tires is a must for ice-filled drives. There might not be a more crucial task for vehicle owners than securing their engine oil to be replenished and clean though. Dirty engine oil can lead to harming the vehicle in many ways. The engine can become damaged with decreased fuel efficiency. The oil filter will carry dirty oil that has to be replaced as well with an oil change. Noticing the signs is very important to ensure the well-being of a vehicle for the vehicle’s lifespan. The cost to replace an engine is extremely high, so of course, the most cost-effective way to keep a vehicle running sufficiently is to regularly prepare for oil-changes. Approximately 3-4 oil changes are needed through any given year for most drivers, depending on their vehicle usage and miles driven; the figure will alter also based on the type of oil a driver has and drives.

“Oil degrades over time. The longer it sits, the less viscous it becomes and thus, the less effective it will be at keeping various engine components properly lubricated,” according to Popular Mechanics magazine.

Don’t Ignore Weird Smells In the Cabin

For drivers that have noticed their vehicle is not running as smoothly or if they are smelling oil in the cabin, they should think of replacing their oil and ensure there isn’t an oil leak. A smokier exhaust, as well as an engine that overheats or acts up, are primary signs for motorists to note and follow up with before any dangers can arise.

Diligence goes a long way as debris and gunk fill the insides of a vehicle rather quickly. The market research company J. D. Power has noted that more so than any other vehicle part, the oil filter and engine oil should be replaced more often than any other item inside a vehicle. The color of the oil is the first thing a driver can note when checking their oil themself. Keeping a vehicle secure is one important aspect of driving, though vehicles are evolving to be as secure as they have ever been.

Why Dodge Is Primed To Offer More EVs

Hornet Miami Lakes Automall

The Dodge Charger and Challenger are officially ending their new and prized Last Call series. After a wave of special edition offerings, the two Hemi-powered muscle cars are close to the end of the line, with production coming to a bittersweet close by December 2023. The Dodge collection is made up of the forthcoming Dodge Hornet SUV (pictured above) and the beloved Dodge Durango as the two remaining cars in the Dodge lineup, but they will still sell the Dodge Charger and Challenger for the 2023 model year and the forthcoming Dodge EV muscle car will be sold as a 2024 model year vehicle.

Dodge Earning Fans With EV Choices

Of course, there will be milestones, but this is the reason the growth of the brand is made on going to EV production. We are in the process of viewing this EV growth of a muscle car brand and brands that do not offer new EVs to keep buyers interested will struggle to keep their loyal followers; just ask Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis. Talking to Muscle Cars & Trucks, Kuniskis added that there will be more suitable Dodge products to be presented next year to fill the slot that the muscle cars will vacate. Dodge has tons of loyal followers to push ahead the brand in 2023 and beyond.

“I will tell you that it’s more than today. And not even a little bit more than today. By the way, we’re going to share our future long-term plans with our dealers early next year. And we would love to believe that all this stuff is top secret when we do it, but it’s not,” said Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis told the publication.

Dodge Is Still Revving For More Muscle

Kuniskis added that Dodge’s long-term future plans are to be exposed to the dealers next year. He also anticipates that these plans will be leaked though he sounded like he’s okay with that transpiring. As for what will be revealed in 2023 to join Dodge’s model lineup, that’s still a mystery at this point. A full-size rendition of the Durango is expected to be introduced, as well as next-generation, Hurricane I6 engine-powered muscle cars that will be built on the new STLA Large architecture.

The production version of the recently introduced electric muscle car, shown in the newest Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept, could also hit showrooms in 2024. Of note, we know there will be different arrangements of this “eMuscle” car. The details show the brand will have varying power outputs depending on the model. Don’t forget the Dodge Challenger has brought out the Black Ghost, a modern version of the Challenger that served as a throwback to the 1970 Challenger muscle car. Remember, the 2023 Dodge Challenger is going to gain the manual transmission for the upcoming 2023 model year. We’re here to truly help our customers see the light with the Challenger and Charger options. Want to get started on this process? We bet our readers do.

Manual Driving Comes Back To Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

2019-Dodge Challenger-SRT-Hellcat-Widebody
Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody

Dodge has disclosed their massive EV take over projects for their direct future and beyond, but they took one forte from the past and added it back to the 2023 Challenger SRT class; the stick-shift manual transmission alternative. Taking share of the electric motor terrain for muscle vehicles and pioneering the next era to cater towards contemporary technology is precisely the proper direction drivers want and should desire to become satisfied with. The next decade will cast many new names and vehicle endeavors regarding electric and electric-hybrid rides. This is the norm for the automotive industry, but what separates Dodge is the explicit direction toward world-class velocity and driver handling behind top-end braking capabilities. That will not alter as the brand moves towards the EV pr.

We’ve Waited For This EV Transformation

Dodge Premieres Final “Last Call” Muscle Ride

Stellantis Miami Lakes Automall

The Dodge Charger is virtually through as we know it, with 2023 set to be its final model year and a slew of special editions beckoning the Charger and its Challenger brother out the door. The replacement for Dodge’s muscle cars will be electric, and Dodge has been busy prepping its V8–loving fanbase for a gas-free future with the Charger Daytona SRT concept that debuted back in August. Now Dodge is trotting its athletic concept again for the 2022 SEMA show with a few updates, popping off with power outputs from the wicked 400-volt electrical system. This is the final showcase for the “Last Call” muscle car rollout Dodge began earlier this summer.

Last Minute Change

While Dodge hasn’t clarified how many electric motors the Daytona Charger SRT holds, the automaker has now shown us a lineup of power levels for the concept. The lowest trim—called 340 for the power output in kilowatts—makes 455 horsepower, while the next step up, the 440, brings 590 ponies. However, both examples offer two horsepower upgrade options, called eStage 1 and 2, as over-the-air purchases from Dodge’s Direct Connection arm. The base trimcan be boosted to 495 or 535 horsepower, while the second tier can be pushed to 630 or 670 horsepower. Dodge also says that the most powerful model will be dubbed the SRT Banshee and will include an 800-volt electrical system, but the company is still quiet on the exact power output for this range topper. This ride will top even the all-new King Daytona Charger.

What This Looks Like On the Production End

Dodge also hasn’t said how these trims will decode to production, with the Daytona SRT still officially a concept, but given the tons of thought Dodge has already put into this ride, we wouldn’t be surprised if a similar lineup eventually reaches customers. The Banshee will also offer Direct Connection upgrades, and the upgraded trims will feature a “crystal” key (Dodge used quotes, so we presume it won’t be a genuine crystal).

The revised concept at SEMA is characterized by its Stryker Red paint color as well as “Stage 2” badges on the fenders and 18-inch carbon-fiber wheels wrapped in 305-mm drag radial tires. Dodge will also use the SEMA show to get feedback from attendees on the concept’s Fratzonic Chambered exhaust system, which Dodge says raises the hum of the electric motors up to a clamorous 126 decibels, although we envision this will be lowered down for the production car due to noise laws in some states. Dodge saw a 22% growth from this past third-quarter compared to the same time in 2021. The seventh and final “Last Call” edition will be displayed live during the 2022 SEMA show. How’s that for impressive?

2022 3rd Quarter Shows 22% Rise In Dodge Sales

Dodge-Dart

Dodge is out to reinvent the muscle car wheel with its EV treatment. Those in the know have said the brand came close to constructing their next-generation muscle car with a new platform to compete with the rival brands of Chevy and Ford in the muscle segment, aside from the Charger and Challenger. Most importantly for Dodge, they saw their numbers increase by 22% in the third-quarter of 2022. This change is arriving thanks to the attention Dodge has to upgrade their rides the right way. In truth, hard work does pay. The hard work is capital for the brand’s pocket and investments ahead of its muscle future in 2023 and beyond.

A Host of Dodge Designs Going Onward

Dodge is preparing to create some huge waves in its production with its EV growth they are about to welcome. The most recent plan includes taking their time to formulate the correct Dodge muscle car that will be displayed as the final muscle car of the current generation. Dodge is seeking to satisfy fans of the combustion engine with its final Challenger muscle car being offered; this is said to be most amazing muscle car reveal Dodge has pledged. For now, sales are increasing for the Dodge brand per efforts to deliver more options, among upgrades built across the brand.

“Our dealers are making every effort to deliver upon each and every customer’s needs while we continue to deal with challenging industry supply constraints. We also saw orders open up for the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe this August, adding another 4xe nameplate to Jeep brand with the Wrangler 4xe here in the U.S., and the Dodge and Chrysler brands each saw strong third quarters as we head into the final sales season of the year,” U.S. Head of Sales Jeff Kommor said in a news release.

Dodge Dart Still Selling In 2022?

Some interesting notes on the Dodge brand have come to light in the last few days, including the fact the Dodge Dart is still out there and being sold. The third-quarter of 2022 has seen the Dodge Dart hit a total of three car sales. The Dodge Dart was last built before in 2016 and the stock for various dealerships might contain the Dodge Dart from 2016 or even earlier. The Dart nameplate first came out back in the 1960s and saw its first-run end in 1976. Interested to find a ride that is absolutely in stock today?
