Dodge Is Feasting Sales Over Mustang So Far In 2021

Dodge Miami Lakes Automall new

Keep in mind that Dodge is preparing to offer customers a greater vehicle with its EV offerings, but that doesn’t mean their muscle cars aren’t still successful and an important aspect for the Dodge brand in 2021. So, the future includes the latest innovative technologies and while the muscle car lineup is moving far away from the Dodge muscle cars of 50 years ago, they are more performance driven than ever. In fact, the Dodge Challenger is still racing ahead in the industry ahead of the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette in 2021 sales. The Dodge Challenger is currently outselling the Ford Mustang through the first nine months of 2021 and will hope to end the six-year best-seller streak that Ford has claimed; now Dodge will end up with the top-spot if all continues as it has all this year.

Dodge Surpasses Ford and Chevrolet Muscle Sales

The Challenger has pulled ahead of the Mustang with exactly 1,082 vehicles sold at the half-way mark. Currently, the totals stand at 44,142 vehicles sold by Dodge over the Mustang’s 41,065 vehicles. The parent company of Dodge, Stellantis, will only issue quarterly sales results through each year, but we are certain the Camaro won’t finish in first, second, or third place as the rival brand has only sold 15,084 Camaro vehicles so far in 2021. The Chevy brand has sold 24,748 total mid-engine Corvette C8 vehicles, but even combined, these two vehicles don’t help the Chevrolet brand top the muscle car market led by the Challenger sales. This doesn’t even include the Charger muscle car. The new Dodge muscle lineup is as strong as its even been with the brand earning high marks from critics and customers alike. The Dodge brand recently earned a top spot on J. D. Power’s Initial Quality Study for the second-year-in-a-row.

The Dodge Brand Keeps Adding Surprises

While we have talked about the possible demise of the Dodge Durango SUV after the 2023 model year, we have learned the 2022 Dodge Durango will be nothing short of amazing. The 2022 Durango provides standard 3-row seating, a faster Uconnect 5 infotainment system and the comfort than makes the Durango one of the top-sellers of its class. Want to know more about the Dodge line-up? We at Miami Lakes Automall are thrilled to show off the collection today for our buyers.

Dodge Hornet Is Set For 2023 Model Year And Debuts In 2022

Thursday, October 7th, 2021
Dodge Hornet Miami Lakes Automall

Well, well, well, Dodge is making the Dodge Hornet after all. We had long speculated, most recently earlier this summer in 2021 about the return of the Dodge Hornet’s famed nameplate making a comeback. Now we know more about the production coming towards the Stellantis owned Dodge brand making its latest SUV a Hornet offering. Rumors have listed the Hornet to be a crossover effort that will be the first all-new vehicle option since the 2013 Dodge Dart first made its arrival. However, small cars have become a thing of the past, especially non-electric small cars. The SUV and pickup segment is still high on gasoline powertrains and popularity for now, but this will pass as well as the entire automotive industry urgently opts for more savvy and fuel-efficient ways to drive forward.

News On the Upcoming Dodge Hornet SUV EV

The last report to come out has the Dodge Hornet to use the Alfa Romeo Tonale as the basis for the vehicle’s distinct look and feel. The arrival of the Hornet will help the brand offer a new SUV for the first time in nearly a decade. This upcoming spring we expect all the details to be shared. The Hornet will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain and offer a turbocharged 2.0-Liter inline up as the gasoline engine; two choices for customers to select from. The base trim is set to offer impressive returns, but those looking for all the bells and whistles will have to opt for the high-end Dodge products. The 2023 Dodge Hornet should arrive by late 2022 as the production is slated to go with the Alfa Romeo Tonale product. This is still reported by Mopar Insiders and not official through Dodge, but we still see the creation as a serious possibility.

Dodge Goes All-In Towards EV Creations

Dodge is ready to provide a new class of vehicles with the Dodge muscle car that is unnamed, but set for an electric vehicle trim, whether it’s the Dodge Charger or Dodge Challenger or a new entry. Consider the Dodge brand and its plans to offer a future EV for a muscle car? While this might seem like a wild idea, the brand is focused and is insisting on offering a Dodge EV trim for every vehicle at some point this decade. The goal to offer more PHEVs is growing into a fast reality for the Dodge and Stellantis automakers. Let’s just hope customers are on board with getting the cleanest, most powerful new electric vehicles set to be made in the United States soon enough.

How Much Faster Is the Dodge Charger Today Vs 50 Years Ago?

Thursday, September 23rd, 2021

1971 Miami Lakes Automall

The Dodge Charger of today is quite an exhilarating experience for owners and passengers alike. While fewer cars are on the road today, even fewer are packed with the kind of engineering feats offered by the Dodge Charger muscle car. The modern Charger is exceptional and definitely different from the famed Dodge Charger vehicles of old. But just how much faster and stronger is the 2021 Dodge Charger compared to the beloved Charger muscle cars from half a century ago? Does the 1971 Dodge Charger hold up? The Charger from 1971 was new and ran through the 1974 model. The price back then was a staggeringly low $3,775. A rear-wheel drive car with a V8 engine that offers 230 horsepower in the base trim and as much as 425 horsepower at the high end. Dodge manufactured exactly 82,114 of these classic muscle cars.

Improvements and Added Value In the Charger

The Dodge brand is currently enjoying awards that have long been established as some of the most important in the industry: winning a top spot of the J. D. Power Initial Quality Study for 2021. After winning the top spot in 2020, lately the most recent Dodge muscle cars have more than putting a smile on the face of owners. The 2021 Dodge Charger is packed with power, as much as 292 horsepower starting in the base Charger SRT trim and as much as 797 horsepower offered in the top-tier, 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye. We can’t say enough good things about this absolutely gorgeous and stunning Dodge muscle car.

So Which Dodge Charger Is Stronger Between the Two?

For those that are keeping score, that’s a difference of 372 horsepower between the two highest trims for the respective Charger muscle cars of 1971 versus 2021. The Charger is roughly 1,500 pounds heavier in weight compared to the finish offered in the 1971 model year. Today’s Charger ranges in the 4,000 to 4,586 range while the 19171 model year Charger hit in the low 3,000 pound range. Despite the added weight, the modern Charger enjoys the perks of the latest technology to produce faster quarter-times. The 19171 Charger could go 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds and finish the quarter-mile in 13.73 seconds at 104 mph. Ready to be impressed? The 2021 Dodge Charger can go from 0 to 60mph in only 4.3 seconds and hits a 12.4 quarter-mile time.

The starting price for a new 2021 Dodge Charger goes for $31,125 MSRP (Plus destination fee). While the Dodge brand looks ahead to offering the upcoming Dodge EV muscle car for a new generation of buyers. These innovative choices are going to lead the way for all automotive brands including the Dodge brand.

Dodge Offers High Octane Speed and Satisfaction

Dodge has been trusted by many new owners to provide a remarkable driving experience; as of 2021, Dodge has now been named the most appealing brand, tied with Porsche. Examine the perks that come from the muscle bound brand and the first thought is the immense power from the massive V8 engines like the ones found in the Challenger and Charger models. Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, accepted the phenomenal rating of 882 based on the 1,000-point scale. This is the second year in a row that they earned this rating based on the APEAL study from J.D. Power. The Dodge brand was ranked highest with fellow Stellantis brand, Ram, earning the second-highest point total. Dodge earned these impressive J.D. Power marks after 110,827 owners of brand new 2021 model year vehicles were surveyed after 90 days of ownership.

How Dodge Has Gained Such Flair

Looking deeper into the 2021 J.D. Power study, the data unveils how owners reflect and react to their new purchases and note how they feel regarding their vehicle. Dodge is known for providing a unique experience for drivers that includes immense power and strength coupled with precise handling. The new 2021 Charger Scat Pack Widebody is a famous example extending extraordinary value and significant thunder to make owners relish the purr and roar of this SRT car. Street Racing Technology (SRT) might become a thing of the past with the launch of the new generation Challenger and Charger trims coming out when the next-generation models appear in fewer than two years.

“One of the biggest factors driving the industry’s improvement this year is the introduction of several highly appealing new models. The APEAL Study measures owners’ emotional attachment to their new vehicle, and the product launches that took place this model year have done a really good job. Some are all-new and some are redesigns, but the new launches demonstrate that automakers are getting even better at hitting buyers’ emotional triggers,” David Amodeo, director of global automotive at J.D. Power, said in the release.

Now Is the Best Time To Experience the 2021 Dodge Line-up

This is a reminder to all customers looking to grip the current trend of heart-racing speeds through gasoline powertrains and pitch-perfect engines that hold nothing back for owners. Notwithstanding, we are sure the Dodge EV collection will nevertheless offer impressive muscle, as Dodge CEO has declared on various occasions. We’re just sure the days of the electric muscle will grab the attention of many shoppers, but early on they might not be too enthusiastic about the latest products Dodge is working on. Luckily, for those buyers that are accustomed to the purr of a fierce Dodge engine can find solace in the current crop of Dodge rides. We could even have a new Dodge SUV at some point in the future to offer our customers. For now, shop with us to find the Dodge that is atop the automotive world currently.

Dodge, Stellantis Earn Top Spot On J.D. Power IQS For 2021

With the future of the Dodge brand moving towards electric vehicles, 2021 might go down as one of the fastest flying years on record, along with the record amount of Atlantic tropical storms. After last year’s seemingly never-ending to now being in the last season before 2022, we’ve come quite a long way. And during this whole experience, the Dodge brand has earned results to inspire buyers while hoisting another award. This time the trophy comes from the 2021 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study that lists Dodge as the brand that finishes second on a list that includes all the top automotive brands. Dodge won the top spot last year and isn’t far off this year. A 223-question study was given to new car owners who felt the most positive and pleasant initial encounter was with these brands. Each year, this survey helps new car shoppers reflect on their experience with a vehicle over the course of the first few months of ownership.

“If you start with strong design, and follow that up with discipline on the plant floor, you get the kind of results we’re seeing today,” metro Detroit native Mark Champine, head of North America customer experience at Stellantis, said in a news release.

Into the Numbers of 2021 J.D. Power’s IQS

Each year, this J.D. Power survey helps new car shoppers reflect on their experience with a vehicle over the course of the first few months of ownership (the first ninety days of ownership to be specific). This is when problems should least likely appear and buyers want to know what to expect; if any problems appear, what they liked most, and other important aspects of purchasing a vehicle. Based on the problems listed per 100 vehicles, the system includes ways to gauge gain information on serious mechanical issues to problems with the infotainment system. Dodge owners only experience 139 complaints per 100 vehicles. The survey includes tens of thousands of responses each year. A big issue is smartphone connectivity across many brands.

“They’ve done a particularly good job of preventing problems from occurring. The key is design quality. Most of the problems people report are not because vehicles aren’t built properly. The majority of problems are because vehicles aren’t designed properly or with the customer in mind. Often, the factories get the rough end of this. There is a problem with the navigation system, for instance. The assembly plants are responsible just for installing it into the vehicle. It’s not their fault the navigation system doesn’t work,” said David Sargent, vice president of automotive quality at J.D. Power, told the Free Press.

Dodge Showing Off More Details Involving Electric Vehicle Plans

With the future of the Dodge brand moving towards electric vehicles, we have a tight window of time before the fastest Dodge options may actually be electrified! While we are excited for the changes, we are also tempted to tell our customers to snag up the Dodge collection as it currently exists. The high-octane Dodge muscle cars like the Dodge Charger and Challenger are exceptional beasts with their available V8 powertrains. The new muscle cars that are going to be made by 2024 will include the entirely electric Dodge vehicle. There are reports that the EV might carry the “Fratzog” logo for all electric vehicles. The Fratzog is a made up word by a designer first used in 1962 through 1976 by the brand. We saw the Dodge brand bring this logo back when unveiling the 2021 EV Day. The concept vehicle has drawn a large amount of interest from fans. One fan is actually the CEO of Dodge, Tim Kuniskis.

“It damn near looks like something that Doc Brown would have done. It looks very futuristic and electrified, and it’s our history, which is what we do,” said Tim Kuniskis. Referring to Doc Brown, the well-known fictional character from Back to the Future.

What Dodge Vehicle Will Gain the EV Treatment First?

We have only seen teasers of what this vehicle will be as well as no clue what the nameplate that will carry this upcoming, first-ever Dodge EV. Perhaps the Dodge Challenger will gain the EV, but we can’t say for certain. Keep in mind that the Challenger body has remained the same since the brand brought the vehicle back in 2008; this is the same for the Charger since 2006. Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, has invested upwards of $35.5 billion through 2035 for electric vehicles, which will include plug-in and hybrid vehicles. A plug-in hybrid is due out next year, so we are about a year from seeing this Dodge vehicle hit stores.Dodge understandably won’t just become an EV company solely or have their branding focus solely on EVs.

“We don’t want them to look radically different because we want you all to be part of the same thing. So, we said, ‘OK,’ if you have electrification in your car, we don’t want you to be screaming, ’I have electrification,” Kuniskis said, referring to Dodge’s “Brotherhood of Muscle” community.

Dodge Is Pushing Ahead With Electric Plans, Revealing New Details

Friday, August 20th, 2021

The particulars of all the innovations coming to Dodge have somewhat been announced with its “Never Lift” program being recently declared. The sixth-annual Dodge Roadkill Nights, an automotive celebration held in Pontiac, Michigan, took place on the third weekend of August earlier this month. During the event, a press conference was held that gave Dodge fans, enthusiasts, plus media workers the chance to talk to the Dodge brass about anything their hearts desired. One such subject made was the electric plans that have been teased and announced to a degree for the muscle car brand. The growth of Stellantis is directly tied to the electric future of the Dodge brand.

“When you make a big change, there’s going to be people that just aren’t going to follow you, at least initially. But a lot of those people will return eventually when they see we’re serious, and we’re going to be Dodge first,” remarked Tim Kuniskis.

More News Coming Ahead of the EV Debut In 2024

The calendar of introductions for the Dodge brand will include official dates for the trim line changes to each particular Dodge vehicle in the subsequent months, new appearance-based trims that will offer meaningful upgrades as well as the eventual date for the end of the current platform used on their muscle cars. The Charger and Challenger have been built and ridden on the same platform since their debut the decade before last (2006 and 2008 respectively). We have already discovered the latest Dodge vehicle, the first all-electric Dodge muscle car set to become introduced by 2024. This date will come by sooner than most customers realize!

“The new car comes in 2024. We didn’t say that the current cars are going to die in 2024. There might be a little overlap, but you’re not going to have years and years and years of the classic and the new one at the same time.” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge CEO

When To Expect More Dodge Muscle News

The fourth quarter of 2021 begins in just over a month and a half and at some point is when we will see what is to come from the brand. Dodge saw their Challenger surpass the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro earlier in 2021. So progress has continued for the brand in 2021. The forthcoming “Never Lift” program is sure to be a success for all Dodge fans and owners alike. Keep in mind, the celebrated run for the mean Dodge muscle machines has persisted as long as it has this time around thanks to high-powered manufacturing and plans that includes over 800 horsepower stock in some of these vehicles. The next two years will include more than trim packages with appearance upgrades; as we’ve been told before. Will there be something to rival the 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye? We are anticipating more accounts on the subject, but let us offer some exceptionally quick options at Miami Lakes Automall.

The Dodge Concept That Didn’t See the Light of Day Till Years Later

The long history of the Dodge brand goes back many decades, but regarding one particular nameplate, the Charger, we are going to highlight one concept that debuted but did not turn into what was originally shown to customers. While many Dodge vehicles have come and gone obvious, but the brand first brought out the Charger in 1999. As automakers look to the past sometimes when restoring an old nameplate or basing a new vehicle with cues from a former star vehicle, we can always look back to acknowledge the famed records of the Dodge brand. Long before the intentions of building a new EV Dodge concepts, we had the Charger concept that debuted before the world over 21 years ago.

Observing At the 1999 Dodge Charger R/T Concept

The modern buzz to hit the interwebz is the sports car that was the 1999 Dodge Charger RT concept. Back then, the Dodge Charger R/T was first rolled out a firm seven years before the Dodge brand would offer the same body in the Dodge Charger today. As the 2021 Dodge Charger, we are used to impressive handling, speed, and high-octane fun. We also can admire the perks that have come as a consequence of the Dodge brand producing back the 2021 Dodge Challenger. But, that story is for a different day; let’s get into what made the 1999 Dodge concept so attractive.

Dodge Brand’s 1999 Take With the Charger

Back when the entire Dodge brand was headed by the Chrysler brand that desired to put together the Dodge brand in a new light with many ideas that were never made, including a Jeepster concept. This Charger vehicle would end up as flagship vehicle for the brand, but that wasn’t obvious till the vehicle was highly-sought after in 2006. The Charger was first thought of as a sports car, not quite a muscle car, and the gas mileage was somewhat greater than many would imagine. The debut was at the 1999 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. This Dodge Charger concept was more like a Dodge Viper with its silky and extended exterior appearance. The R/T concept had a 4.7-Liter V8 naturally-aspirated engine. The total output was 325 horsepower and a stunning look that for some reason wasn’t turned into a production car.

Dodge added this vehicle to its lineup eventually, but the famed concept ended up in one video game despite never being put out. The Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition allowed this car as a possible choice for gamers back in 2005, a full six years later. The Dodge brand has tons of experience with building up the Charger to become one of the most celebrated muscle cars ever made. Want to test-drive one now? We can help make that potential at Miami Lakes Automall today!

Dodge Teases New Electric Muscle Car

Friday, July 9th, 2021
Dodge EV Miami Lakes Automall

We have received the news we were waiting for; Dodge has first introduced the first image of the future Dodge EV yet to be named. This will be the world’s first all-electric production muscle car. Dodge delivered a new teaser image of what buyers will fantasize about till more is revealed. Currently, the 2021 Dodge Challenger is the freshest Dodge muscle car, but not for long as we know over the summer the next model year, the 2022 Dodge Challenger will debut. The shift has now shined brightly to the newest creation set to debut in 2024. We can expect the next generation of Dodge muscle cars, both the Charger and the Challenger to not only ride on a new platform and offer an entirely new experience both inside and out, to start in less than three short years. As we’ve covered, the electric future of the Dodge brand, as well as the automotive industry as a whole, was a cavalier move we considered to be important to the muscle car segment. Now, the first step of progress has finally been revealed.

Dodge Looking To Curb Climate Change

The new crop of the Charger and Challenger models, if they are the ones selected to offer an electric experience, are a welcomed sight to drivers and dealerships alike. Dodge will offer up the electrified trim to be named as Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, has declared a tag line to go with the muscle car brand. “Tear Up the Streets, Not the Planet” and the electric Dodge car will commence the means of moving away from gasoline-powered muscle cars to newly made electric vehicles. The Dodge brand offered a comment that included “Dodge will not sell electric cars, but will sell American muscle” as the brand maintains their designers have attained the end of what they can produce from internal combustion motors. The Dodge brand “has an obligation to embrace” electrification for a more all-embracing high-performance future. There is some consideration that the first-ever electric muscle car made by Dodge (or anywhere else) will be designated as something brand new.

We have our view the Dodge brand will increase its EV skills to both the Charger and the Challenger and even build a new EV nameplate, either through improving an older title or creating a new one. The next judgment will be up to the buyers to decide how much they want to drive a Dodge EV. We’ve focused on this story, as the Dodge EV articles from our database show, but we are happy to see the newest results.

Dodge Prepares To Build Multiple Electric Vehicles And More Plans Revealed

There is a feeling within the Dodge community that the V8 engines of today are going to skyrocket in value. The most obvious reason is Dodge is going out of the gasoline-focused V8 powertrains business and headed to an electric future. There have been some new reports that though the electrification plans are new, they are going full force into the commitment towards building the brand with EV intentions for each vehicle. The report names Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, as the force behind turning Dodge into the premiere brand among its many options.

Six All-Electric Vehicles Are Being Made

Dodge is rumored to have as many as “six all-electric vehicles currently in the styling studio in Auburn Hills, Michigan.” There is also news that “at least one, but probably several plug-in hybrids” are slated to be created. Whether this is concept vehicles or the turning of a new leaf for the Dodge brand, the report from The Detroit Bureau has Dodge making big changes. While this news is nothing new, we now have some more light shed on what is expected to change for the brand. The days of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon or even the follow up vehicles in the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye or Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock, we can expect changes to start showing by next year. Dodge will have no problem doing all the hard work towards its electric future alone. According to another report, the Dodge brand has passed on getting any assistance from Tesla.

The Final Days of Purely Gasoline Driven Muscle?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger will offer a variant of change as the new-generation is expected to show. The other brands under the guidance of Stellantis have already pushed out the latest plug-in hybrid or fully electric vehicles in the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel and Jeep Wrangler 4xe trim. The best EVs in the world could one day arrive in the form of the greatest muscle cars available; all included from the Dodge brand! Keep in mind that Stellantis has already decided to move the Dodge brand into a new plan that was revealed earlier this month when plans were described, “Between 2025 and 2030, our product range will gradually become purely electric. This will be a radical change,” Stellantis CEO Oilvier Francois. The future is rapidly approaching and our goal is to remain as prepared as we are today at providing our customers with the newest Dodge vehicles.
