Manual Driving Comes Back To Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

2019-Dodge Challenger-SRT-Hellcat-Widebody
Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody

Dodge has disclosed their massive EV take over projects for their direct future and beyond, but they took one forte from the past and added it back to the 2023 Challenger SRT class; the stick-shift manual transmission alternative. Taking share of the electric motor terrain for muscle vehicles and pioneering the next era to cater towards contemporary technology is precisely the proper direction drivers want and should desire to become satisfied with. The next decade will cast many new names and vehicle endeavors regarding electric and electric-hybrid rides. This is the norm for the automotive industry, but what separates Dodge is the explicit direction toward world-class velocity and driver handling behind top-end braking capabilities. That will not alter as the brand moves towards the EV pr.

We’ve Waited For This EV Transformation

The first and highly anticipated Dodge electric EV is close to seeing its production run reach dealerships. The vehicle is “so brilliant that it is shocking,” Carlos Tavares, CEO of parent company Stellantis, announced with regards to the Dodge brand and its future flagship muscle car. The plan to supply a dual-EV-battery As optimistic points of view have directed the brand from the top down. We’re more than excited to see the coming months and years ahead as the launch of these next-gen vehicles comes next year. Dodge Premieres Final “Last Call” Muscle Ride

Stellantis Miami Lakes Automall

The Dodge Charger is virtually through as we know it, with 2023 set to be its final model year and a slew of special editions beckoning the Charger and its Challenger brother out the door. The replacement for Dodge’s muscle cars will be electric, and Dodge has been busy prepping its V8–loving fanbase for a gas-free future with the Charger Daytona SRT concept that debuted back in August. Now Dodge is trotting its athletic concept again for the 2022 SEMA show with a few updates, popping off with power outputs from the wicked 400-volt electrical system. This is the final showcase for the “Last Call” muscle car rollout Dodge began earlier this summer.

Last Minute Change

While Dodge hasn’t clarified how many electric motors the Daytona Charger SRT holds, the automaker has now shown us a lineup of power levels for the concept. The lowest trim—called 340 for the power output in kilowatts—makes 455 horsepower, while the next step up, the 440, brings 590 ponies. However, both examples offer two horsepower upgrade options, called eStage 1 and 2, as over-the-air purchases from Dodge’s Direct Connection arm. The base trimcan be boosted to 495 or 535 horsepower, while the second tier can be pushed to 630 or 670 horsepower. Dodge also says that the most powerful model will be dubbed the SRT Banshee and will include an 800-volt electrical system, but the company is still quiet on the exact power output for this range topper. This ride will top even the all-new King Daytona Charger.

What This Looks Like On the Production End

Dodge also hasn’t said how these trims will decode to production, with the Daytona SRT still officially a concept, but given the tons of thought Dodge has already put into this ride, we wouldn’t be surprised if a similar lineup eventually reaches customers. The Banshee will also offer Direct Connection upgrades, and the upgraded trims will feature a “crystal” key (Dodge used quotes, so we presume it won’t be a genuine crystal).

The revised concept at SEMA is characterized by its Stryker Red paint color as well as “Stage 2” badges on the fenders and 18-inch carbon-fiber wheels wrapped in 305-mm drag radial tires. Dodge will also use the SEMA show to get feedback from attendees on the concept’s Fratzonic Chambered exhaust system, which Dodge says raises the hum of the electric motors up to a clamorous 126 decibels, although we envision this will be lowered down for the production car due to noise laws in some states. Dodge saw a 22% growth from this past third-quarter compared to the same time in 2021. The seventh and final “Last Call” edition will be displayed live during the 2022 SEMA show. How’s that for impressive?

Dodge Plans One More Charger Surprise

Dodge introduced their sixth and most sensational special edition yet in the “Last Call” series. These are the final muscle cars of the current generation before we see the all-new Dodge Challenger and Charger rides that have not been massively updated since their re-debut back during the decade before last. The all-new 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost is the newest example. While we await the finale for the current generation of the Challenger, let us explore what pushes this new special edition as a captivating option. The Challenger Black Ghost is going to ride with a 6.2-Liter V8 powered engine that is direct from the SRT Hellcat Redeye. The feel of this ride is inspired by the Detroit street racing community that has seen quite a few impressive vehicles debut and race on the streets of Detroit, Michigan. This special edition holds a candle to any new special edition released, including the King Daytona Charger.

Backstory on the Last Call “Black Ghost” Effort

Jumping into the “Last Call” special edition, we spot the platform of the popular widebody version of the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye. The Black Ghost special edition pushed another 10 horsepower to hit 797 to 807 horsepower. This puts the 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost in the rarefied atmosphere of the legendary 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. The looks used on the Black Ghost are taken from the appearance of the original Black Ghost that was made back in 1970. The 1970 Challenger R/T was a remarkable ride upon its debut and the Black Ghost will be just as impressive to witness live as a 1970 Dodge Challenger. Keep in mind, only 300 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost muscle cars will be produced.

This is the sixth and second-to-last Challenger muscle car being displayed before the last and most impressive muscle car reveal Dodge has promised. The foundation for the Black Ghost is uncovered from the 1970 Challenger R/T SE, but also made famous by Godfrey Qualls, a former Detroit motorcycle police officer. He owned a black ’70 Challenger and would drag race with its 426 HEMI engine and eventually his legendary ride was moved to the National Historic Vehicle Register in 2020. Qualls passed away in 2015, but his son supported to raise some recognition to the brand and his story lives on with the motivation indulged into this all-new Dodge effort.

Breaking Down the Perks of the Black Ghost

The 2023 Challenger will carry plenty of trims, but the unique special edition Pitch Black is a sight to see. The body color carries a polished and refined with black faux-gator-skin roof vinyl that looks comparable to the Dodge Challenger Pitch Black from the 70s. The Black Ghost special edition includes chrome “Dodge” front badges, a white stripe on the rear fender, added “Challenger” badges across the grille, rear spoiler, and front fender. Dodge included 20-inch Satin Carbon wheels with six-piston Brembo brakes; a top-of-the-line muscle car that is most likely to be sold out fast! Find out what we can do to help get our readers into the newest Dodge muscle cars as soon as possible. The seventh and final “Last Call” edition will be displayed live during the 2022 SEMA show in November, Stellantis added in a message to the press. Dodge has not announced any platform on the pricing on any of the special editions for now. We await for this sweet ride along with the EV muscle car set to debut in less than two years.

2023 Hornet Miami Lakes Automall

All-New Dodge Hornet To Start Under $30K?

2023 Hornet Miami Lakes Automall

The Dodge Hornet nameplate first reached the public display at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show as a thoughtful and forward-thinking concept for a crossover. With a boxy design that was all the rage among buyers at the time, a future production version was never produced, until late last year in 2021. Today, new spy photographs reveal a new glimpse of one under development on the road in Detroit. The Hornet we see entering production looks nothing like the original concept from 2006. But, interesting to note how some parallels are noted to its Alfa Romeo Tonale Stellantis sibling. Allow us to breakdown what we have learned in recent months about the forthcoming Dodge Hornet crossover SUV product set to debut in less than a year. This summer might be ending, but before summer closes we’ll learn about an all-new Dodge collection nearing debut.

A Hornet Buzzes This Way

Dodge has placed a strong emphasis on producing a new ride on the preferred platform. Concerning the forthcoming Dodge Hornet, a similar fascia with inlets at each corner with a space in the center resembling a trapezoidal figure is expected. There’s a slim grille in the center of the vehicle’s front and a larger opening above it. The headlights are narrow and have tapered edges. Complete with its arching roofline and curved window on the rear hatchback that supports the Hornet crossover from looking too square. The descending part of the window on the rear door has an upward projection. The wheels on this vehicle appear to be the same ones that the Tonale sports. The spy images also reveal the Hornet carries a gorgeous spoiler on the roof, and a place for outlines on the sides of the window. On each side, there rest three rectangular tail lights.

Growing Powertrain Possibilities?

Regarding the Hornet’s engine options for the Hornet are allegedly the exact ones as what the Tonale delivers. In the United States, this is the trusted 1.3-Liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor powering the rear axle for a complete system output of 272 horsepower. A 15.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack provides more than 30 miles of a driving range. Should the Hornet also have the Tonale’s full motor lineup, then the Hornet will arrive with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain that supports 256 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. In Europe, the Alfa has two 1.5-liter mild-hybrid powertrains and a diesel option.

Another relation between the Hornet and the Tonale will be their production site. Both will arrive from the Pomigliano d’Arco Assembly Plant in Italy. Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis has authorized the small crossover to be assigned to arrive at some point later in 2022. Will this vehicle have some EV capabilities? We’ve covered this before, but learn even more after a visit to Miami Lakes Automall!

Ready To Witness the New Dodge EVs?

We are looking forward to the Dodge brand offering a sneak peek at the future of their brand with monumental launches on August 15th-17th, 2022. The first day, August 15th will be the reveal for a new creation that will be shown; a new era of EVs we’ve all been lingering for will be revealed! This day will mark the first live arrival of the next-generation Dodge muscle vehicle. The next day, on August 16th, the Dodge gateway muscle product is promised with the last day, August 17th, 2022, will show the result of years of planning. During the live debut that looks ahead to the future muscle products coming down the tube, there will be a short Q and A. This is a wonderful time to herald the inception of a full-fledged EV lineup that will cause the market to take note.

Reasons To Believe In the Hornet

A considerable share of belief has been made for the all-new Dodge Hornet plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV prospect that is bearing aspects from fellow Stellantis brand, the Alfa Romeo Tonale. The Tonale comes with PHEV components and rides with a 1.3-Liter four-cylinder motor that is connected to an electric engine with a connected rear axle measure to secure the engine. The Hornet was first and last shown back at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show. Back then, this Hornet was cast as a memorable concept for a new crossover. The 2006 Hornet was built with a box design that was widespread among customers back in the day. A future production version was never completed, until last year when we learned of the spy shots that indeed delivered what Dodge had been working on.

“There’s no better place to unveil a new performance direction for the Dodge brand than right on Woodward Avenue in metro Detroit, with tens of thousands of our closest fans and friends. We introduced our two-year Never Lift road map last year at Roadkill Nights, and this year the event will serve as the prelude to going wide open throttle on Never Lift. All I can say is the future of our brand will be on display during Dodge Speed Week, and we’re throwing open our garage doors so our fans can get a peek for themselves. It’s going to be an electric summer for Dodge,” stated Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand Chief Executive Officer of Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge.

Production Nears For Dodge EVs

The Dodge Hornet nameplate first reached the masses all the way since the 2006 Geneva Motor Show as a unique concept for a crossover. With a box design that was favored among customers at the time, a future production version was never completed, until last year in 2021. Recently, new spy photographs display a new peek of one under development on the streets of Detroit. The Hornet that will go into production looks nothing like the initial concept from 2006. But, fascinating to note how some parallels are noted to the Alfa Romeo Tonale. We await the forthcoming Dodge Hornet crossover SUV product set to arrive by 2023, but we’re also ready to help customers find the right ride today.

The 2023 Dodge Hornet is still months from seeing a genuine reveal, but we’ll learn more as summer goes about what to anticipate and when this all-new Dodge Hornet entry will soar and leave us all stung.

Now More Than Ever Is the Time To Drive Dodge

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody

The last time we told our readers to buy Dodge, we really meant that. As time has shown, this era of Dodge vehicles was second-to-none, but the remnants of that time from 2017-2020 still lingers a few years down the road with the current line of 2022 Dodge muscle options. Today, as we await the arrival of the Dodge muscle electric vehicle future due to debut at the end of summer, we know those final years of combustion gas powered Dodge muscle are running out. For those who really want to experience the remarkable power, pure adrenaline of heart racing speed and unmatched handling, speak to us about the process of driving a Dodge car today.

Hornet Nears Arrival

We know the future of Dodge involves the element of electric engineering, set to offer the promise of moving at high speeds without the decades of use given by traditional powertrains. We are ready to see them, but we don’t know them just yet. In fact, the name is not even known for what to expect for the first true muscle car of the 2020’s from Dodge. We have learned the Dodge Hornet nameplate is back, as an SUV of the electric variety. However, the Challenger and Charger nameplates have not been formally linked to a Dodge EV title anywhere. Will Dodge remain true to its past or offer a new line-up that differs from their longstanding heritage built over decades of production in both the Charger and Challenger models.

We’re Keeping SRT Alive

While some think the SRT (Street Racing Technology) found in the Hellcat and Hellcat Widebody will be altered or removed, we can say that is unlikely. As the brand grows, they are keen on keeping their massive fan base happy and appeased with greater perks and new technology, but not removing all aspects of what has made Dodge stand out. This could include even keeping some elements of traditional combustion being used but perhaps in a different way than ever used before. As the market stands today, we see the rival Ford Mustang is losing in total sales compared to the Dodge muscle that includes the Challenger and Charger.

Dodge Improving Appeal For Die-Hard Muscle Fans

SRT Dodge Miami Lakes Automall

Dodge knows buyers want the speed and seductive power provided with its muscle cars. But, we ask if our readers know the coming changes to the Dodge brand. We have learned the Dodge Challenger will no longer carry a manual Challenger option; but that will be announced formally by the brand at some point. The true glimpse of what to expect is almost upon us for the 2024 Dodge muscle EV lineup, as production would begin in just over a year. The sizing of these vehicles should be around the same, as HotCars.com speculates the vehicle will be larger due to its power output and charging requirements. The eMuscle, as they refer to it as, is the popular topic both online and what we hear from buyers every day in 2022.

The word on the street for the Dodge muscle car should still offer around 400-650 horsepower and the top of the line SRT Hellcat trim is possibly change with the EV capabilities coming to the brand. We don’t have the exact numbers, but perhaps as little as $55,000 or $60,000 MSRP is the expectation for this. Dodge is rumored to have as many as “six all-electric vehicles currently in the styling studio in Auburn Hills, Michigan.” There is also news that “at least one, but probably several plug-in hybrids” are slated to be created. Whether this is concept vehicles or the turning of a new leaf for the Dodge brand, the report from The Detroit Bureau has Dodge making big changes. While this news is nothing new, we now have some more light shed on what is expected to change for the brand.

Where Does Dodge Go Next? Only Up From Here!

Dodge has seen growth over the last few years in sales that should top those lofty pre-pandemic numbers set in 2019. Dodge had started to bring the focus away from creating wildly strong horsepower vehicles like the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock. However, there was a promise to continue the SRT (Street Racing Technology) vehicles for the near future. While these are the most impressive vehicles for any owner to want, they aren’t meeting the goal of what the future holds for the Dodge brand and its EV intentions.Count on us to provide our readers with the new details that will make them embrace and crave these new vehicles coming from Dodge.

Hydrogen Engine Coming To Dodge Muscle?

Dodge Muscle Car V8 engine Miami Lakes

Think Dodge is done creating the muscle cars of this century just because some EVs are starting to put up? Nope! The famed Dodge brand has been working on a Hydra-engine; a hydrogen-powered engine that will replace the 800-horsepower engine that currently works as the option in the Dodge Challenger and Charger muscle car choices. This upgrade means the Dodge Challenger and Charger vehicles, or the next-generation Dodge muscle car, will still have combustion power. Owners of current Dodge muscle should be delighted to know that the future EV capabilities of the next Dodge vehicle will have choices. That said, we fully anticipate the future Dodge muscle EV to reach heights not offered with combustion engine technology. However, the new and eventual launch of this 800-horsepower hydrogen powertrain will be brought out for the public to love and drive home someday.

“The Hydra represents the next evolution of the muscle car without compromising our brand integrity. The Hydra name is symbolic for us. While legislation may have cut the head off of our ICE-powered muscle cars, two more will grow back in its place. Muscle cars won’t go down that easily,” Ivan Tobrakfri, Director of Muscle Car Development at Dodge.

Is Dodge Is Prepared To Comeback To NASCAR?

Dodge is also working on winning the crowds of NASCAR yet again, perhaps returning to NASCAR. This a chance that is arriving through with components that will put Dodge in for the first time in 10 years. The next-generation Dodge muscle car will have the green light to hit the race track upon its debut. We know the Dodge brand is reaching to produce larger firepower, but we now know the Dodge implementation of its muscle cars will indeed demand the combustion aspect. We are not privy as the particulars are not yet documented, but there is stimulating news to think about regarding the future of the Dodge EV. This is vital for the SRT trims that are sold for both the Dodge Challenger and Charger muscle car. Keep in mind, the Dodge brand has seen its vehicles outsell brands like Ford due to its high-end trims like those found in the SRT variety.

“We’ll admit that the announcement of the electric muscle car lineup was a kneejerk reaction to the incoming legislation,” he says, “but our engineers have been working hard to offer a combustion engine that burns cleanly while still delivering the aural delight and emotional connection to a muscle car that our loyal supporters expect. In order to expand our product offering, electrification is a must, which is why we will have electric family SUVs. But, our muscle cars must be powered by combustion – this is non-negotiable.” Tobrakfri added. Review the newest Dodge muscle cars that are ready for these customers at Miami Lakes Automall.

Dodge Charger Carries Half Value A Decade Later

When we speak about the Dodge brand, we are usually inclined to note the tremendous resale value Dodge muscle cars keep. The news came this week of a decade-old Dodge Charger Daytona that was first introduced as an emblem of the racing legacy from their famed 1960s era muscle cars. Keep in mind that the Charger was prohibited by NASCAR 50 years ago. The 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona was an enormous hit and the V8 HEMI put in this Dodge helped make the vehicle a massive triumph. In fact, the Daytona was recently produced again by Dodge and offered more than 200 mph speed! So, ten years afterward we are interested in the ROI (return on investment) for this 2013 Charger Daytona.

The Expansion of V8 Strength

What started as the Dodge muscle car delivering strength became consumers eventually having entry to superiorly robust engines with the expansion of V8 motors. Those V8s began a movement from those initial Chargers to the ones that symbolized ever so noticeably how far Dodge had come with the 2013 Daytona back then and in the SRT, SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye assortment of muscle cars we see today. While we have witnessed the special plans Dodge has made to push forward electrified technology in their muscle cars, let us examine the 2013 Dodge Charger Daytona further.

Dodge Excellence Remains

Of course Dodge has discovered ways to rejuvenate and drum into previous generations, delivering throwback appearance packages of their famed vehicles, just like the 2013 Dodge Charger Daytona. The 2013 variation held four body color options including pitch black, bright white, billet silver, and Daytona blue. Owners enjoy the 5.7-Liter V8 engine that races from 0 to 60 MPH in 6 seconds. The nifty 20-inch polished aluminum wheels sold with glossed back inlays, gloss black wing mirrors, front grille, side skirts, and various rear bumper inserts. The interior carries the Nappa leather selection still found in the highest tier muscle cars produced by Dodge. Owners note a not-bad-for-2020-standards with their 2012 produced 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, however the 10 speaker, 552 watt Beats audio system still maintains as outstanding no matter how much time goes on by. Dodge is skilled at offering vehicles that last the test of time.

Dodge Maintains Value For Years

Sometimes the greatest way to keep people intrigued is by staying ahead of the game or offering a unique vehicle option. Only 2,500 of these 2013 Dodge Charger Daytona models were created in 2012, acting as a way to offer upscale cars to help garner appeal. The result is about 50% value retained, even after a decade passing by. The $15,000 price point is quite impressive, as the vehicle was $32,000 MSRP in 2012. The value might increase to even loftier peaks with the EVs coming and gasoline cars set to become an infrequent find as this century goes on. For those glancing at the upcoming future of the Dodge line-up, like the 2023 Dodge Hornet anticipated to come out this year, we have all the news breaking and vehicles ready to go at Miami Lakes Automall!

Remarkable 1,300 Horsepower Dodge Charger

The Dodge brand has been in the news making waves and all sorts of noise to a positive response with its EV muscle car set to debut in less than two years. We can be assured the Dodge brand is set to offer a slew of outstanding vehicles that are electrified and awesome, but for now, the latest news is focused on what we have today like the 1,000 horsepower engine found in a modified 1970 Dodge Charger or the 1,400 horsepower Dodge SRT Demon made a few years back. We’ve shown off some of the most impressive tuneups that Dodge owners have done to modify and upgrade the stock versions of their Dodge muscle cars. A recent example has come out with Westen Champlin’s new creation where the uniquely modified Dodge Charger has been revealed on their YouTube channel. Built out of passion and using premium Mopar parts to improve the already powerful Dodge muscle sedan, the YouTuber has crafted quite the outlandish Dodge muscle car build. Westen chose to coax a Dodge Charger Hellcat with nearly double the force Dodge supplies customers with, that’s what took this car to an upper echelon.

Dodge Charger Now and Then

Today, the seventh-generation Dodge Charger has been around since 2011 and will be phased out when the newest generation arrives sometime after next year. There was a refresh back in 2015, the same model year as the one this team changed up. Nowadays, the 2022 Dodge Charger starts from $33,000 MSRP (Plus destination fee) with a V6 engine, from $40,000 MSRP customers can acquire the 5.7-Liter V8 R/T version but at $75,000 MSRP the Hellcat sedan is available. Dubbed the HellJet, this outlandish invention supports a uniquely styled khaki green matt paint, a HellJet logo, labeled 777 on the sides, and jet-fighter teeth behind the front wheels. Those wheels are located in black, but the standout feature would have to be the bullhorns up front, though that’s still not all.

Perks of Something Special and Fierce

Westen does a burnout inside an active garage with exotic cars and has the goods revealed under the hood to reveal a tremendous new powertrain. The HellJet harbors the most recent supercharged 6.2-Liter Hellcat V8 that has also been twin-turbocharged with a Hellion turbo kit for a total of 1300 total horsepower, roughly 583 more horsepower than granted on the standard Dodge Charger Hellcat. They also moved a retired Dodge police vehicle, pushed up the engine output from 370 horsepower from the mid-tier 5.7-Liter V8 engine to a brand new Hellcat engine that delivers 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. The entire build was all done from scratch, each part by part and crafted with time and some love.
