FCA To Merge With Renault In Massive Deal

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) was searching for another company to make a splash in the automotive industry with a large scale merger. They finally found the right company to make a cannonball of a splash with the new agreement with Renault. FCA will be securing in their words a “transformative merger” with the French automotive company, Renault, to merge effective May 2019. What does this mean for the automotive industry? This new company, yet to be named, will represent that 3rd biggest global original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

This merge also entails this new company will become the 4th biggest automotive company in North America and 2nd in Europe. The organizations have agreed in principle to distribute their public shareholders equally. This new company will display full market coverage of vehicles covering a wide range of “mainstream to luxurious” options for consumers to enjoy. Let’s break down a little more about what to expect going forward for FCA.

A Landmark Deal

The first statement listing the intentions of both brands came out to the public in a statement by FCA. FCA made the first move when they issued a non-binding letter to the Board of Groupe Renault, which was approved. Both companies remain poised to grow their sales and remain ahead of the many oppositions with this deal. FCA stated their five-year-plan back in 2018 to become more of a global force for both electrification and autonomous driving. This deal proves they were serious as Renault is well known for their work in making electrification one of their hallmarks. FCA stated their desire to “identify” products and places where they would best be served to collude the newest and most advanced technologies. Adding to the list of wants, FCA also satisfies their aim to grow globally by going with “bold decisions to capture at scale the opportunities created by the transformation of the auto industry”, FCA addressed in their latest report to the press and shareholders.

Upcoming Agenda Going Forward For FCA

Both Renault and FCA know they have their work cut out for them since large scale mergers are something both companies are familiar with. This is actually going to raise their value and total sales net worth with the figure set to be a $35 billion deal. Their joined business would sell more than 8.7 million vehicles yearly, including innovative muscle cars, SUVs, pickups, minivans as well as light commercial vehicles.

“Our proposed merger with Renault will create the potential to build a global partnership with all three of these great companies during this period of unprecedented transformation in our industry.” -John Elkann, Chairman of FCA.

What To Expect Next

The intention is to further expand FCA’s general interest for consumers in a global setting, where they have yet to really become a staple. FCA confirmed neither company would be able to gain a more significant role in the global market as a company alone. FCA, known for their Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram brands among others is thrilled to have this deal finished. This is in large part due to Renault making strides with zero-emissions electronic vehicles and their global outreach. This merger is going to add quite a bit of value for each company as they become one of the most potent automotive companies; its a win-win for consumers as well.

More Good News

Both brands say they will not lose any productive plants that are currently operating. FCA is excited to expand its brands, as both companies will work out the final details over the coming months. Anticipate more stories to come out of this landmark deal in 2019 and beyond. For anyone a fan of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and their automotive brands, they will be in for a pleasant surprise in the near future. Want to see the latest FCA products with our help?

How the Dodge Challenger Has Stayed Popular

2019 Dodge Challenger T/A 392

Dodge has earned the reputation for crafting and engineering the fastest, most powerful Muscle cars in the world. Their most respected muscle car to date is the Dodge Challenger. The current Challenger has not received a major change to its design since 2008 (not that the Challenger needed to). Dodge has still introduced new trims and special edition Challenger cars to their line-up. Most recently, the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) product did something it never has before. The future of the Dodge Challenger will only continue to improve, let us explain.

Climbing the Charts

The Detroit Free Press broke the news that the Dodge Challenger outsold the Chevrolet Camaro in the first quarter of 2019. Thanks to those newly introduced trims like the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, Dodge had 13,431 vehicles sold, placing in second only behind the Ford Mustang (16,917 units). The Camaro fell into third place with 12,083 units sold. Chevrolet even refreshed the Camaro last year, but the response was lackluster. That can’t be said for Dodge from their robust vehicles, slick advertising, and growing fan base.

Dodge Sales Reflect Growing Popularity

Dodge still pulled ahead of the Camaro selling 66,716 units, opposed to the Camaro with 50,963 units sold in 2018. The Dodge Challenger over the last four years has been a model of consistency selling annually around 65,000 vehicles. The Chevy Camaro has tailed off since 2014 and even the Ford Mustang sales have fallen in recent years since 2015. While some analysts believe drivers are now looking for more fuel-efficient vehicles. However, if that were the case dodge muscle cars would not be as successful as they have been. The power of the V8 HEMI powertrain is as attractive as it’s ever been. Dodge also has improved their infotainment system, Uconnect, Plus added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with larger touchscreens and faster response times. Combining both the incredible horsepower with updated technology has driven sales for Dodge.

Dodge Wins Over Buyers

Dodge has taken the share of buyers thanks to recent entries like the popular, limited production run of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, last year’s 2019 Challenger Hellcat Redeye and a slew of special editions. The Dodge brand across their whole line-up provides roomier interiors for daily driving and even an all-wheel-drive version to allow drivers more options. For muscle car enthusiasts, Dodge is a brand that has been around for generations. Dodge continues to push the envelope and satisfy what customers want most: excitement. Don’t worry about where to look to get a fantastic deal on a new Dodge.

Head of Dodge Brand, Steve Beahm, Retires

Steve FCA Miami Lakes Automall

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has undergone massive changes in leadership in the past year since the passing of former CEO Sergio Marchionne on July 25tth, 2018. New Jeep Brand head Christian Meunier has been announced and now FCA has big shoes to fill for their head of the Dodge brand. Steve Beahm, who has been with FCA and Dodge since 2008 has formerly retired and leaves behind years of excellence helping the Dodge brand grow. These changes will go a long way for a company that is looking to gain a stronger global presence.

Inside the Changes at FCA

Steve Beahm took over as the FCA Head of Passenger Car Brands (Dodge, Fiat, and Chrysler) back in February 2018, he helped launch the remarkable 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. Beahm, who also became the head of Mopar in North America, has been replaced by Mark Bosanac. Boscanac was previously head of supply chain management and FCA so far has not announced a new head of passenger cars. These moves will begin the next phase of the five-year-plan outlined last year by Marchionne and FCA’s goal to focus on expanding each brand and add more electronic vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) additions.

Where Dodge Has Been and Where It’s Headed

Dodge is a brand that under Beahm’s guidance focused on the ability to craft high-performance vehicles as his responsibilities included sales and marketing for Dodge, SRT (street racing technology), Chrysler and Fiat. He made sure to break the mold of previous campaigns by adding a high-named talent like Bill Goldberg to become “Mayor of Muscleville” in a recent campaign and instilled the idea of pushing the envelope. 797-horsepower engines and a “Hellephant” 426 supercharged crate HEMI that produces 1,000 horsepower were two projects closely watched by Beahm.

After years behind the scenes for sales and incentives, Beahm helped to find ways to get the Dodge brand excited about the products despite no major overhaul or change to their iconic muscle cars. It’s been over 10 years for both the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger since they have undergone any major change with only minor refreshes taking place over the years.

That longevity is almost unheard of in today’s auto market with the landscape of strong, powerful muscle cars and coupes becoming more and more a thing of the past. The future will be an exciting time for FCA.

Hellephante Miami Lakes Automall

Owners of classic muscle cars take pride in their prized possessions and rightfully so. While hearing the word “classic” might sound old and obsolete, don’t judge a book by its cover. Old school Dodge muscle cars could have the all-new Mopar Hellephante crate engine installed in their classic ride.  Mopar announced all of their Hellephante crates have sold out! The monstrous 1,000 horsepower, 950 lb-ft of torque crate engine was sold out in less than two weeks time. For owners of Dodge muscle cars that desired a colossal upgrade, there isn’t an alternative that would allow for greater horsepower and strength. This is the kind of powertrain that will be embraced the world over from drag racers and street muscle car fanatics alike. Easily the most dominant crate motor made by an OEM (original equipment manufacturer). So, what does the Hellephante crate provide?

A Special Engine For a Reason

The origins of the Hellephante crate go back to a previous generation powertrain made by Mopar. Named the Gen III HEMI V8, Mopar has created 426 cubic inches of the new Hellephante with a 4.0-inch bore that affords plenty of cylinder wall depth joined with a 4.125 crankshaft. With an aluminum block, forged pistons and value covers right out of the SRT Hellcat Redeye, owners of the Hellephante will enjoy a unique engine that adds an enhanced supercharger over the current Hellcat. Mopar also throws together a kit to assist buyers to add the engine smoothly, including wiring,  a throttle pedal, O2 sensors, and an ECU that is tuned and able to go. The Hellephante crate also comprises of front-end accessory drive kit that joins the alternator and power steering pump with the required pulleys and belt. The entire package is ready to go and is probably stocked already in many muscle cars on drag strips around the world.

Everyone Wants a Hellephante Crate

A lot of people were looking to add this mega-powerful engine due to its incredible high-performance power and 1,000 horsepower. Now, the only drawback from owning a piece of this fantastic engine is the cost. The price for this massive powertrain is $29,995 MSRP. We hope our readers keep in mind how this engine immediately enhances any vehicle to a wild amount of horsepower and torque. In fact, the original 426 HEMI with only 425 horsepower was forbidden by NASCAR. The Hellephante crate is an elite item and quite rare since only 1,000 customers were lucky enough to add one. The announcement of this crate came on National HEMI Day, April 26th, 2019. It’s not a surprise that before two weeks could pass, this one came and went.

What Vehicles Can Drive With the Hellephante?

Driving with a high-powered engine like the one included in the Hellephante is sure to bring attention and joy for those lucky owners who were able to purchase one. Although, we want our readers to know this crate is for any pre-1976 Dodge muscle car and could not be added to newer Dodge muscle cars.

2019 Dodge Challenger Miami Lakes

Dodge Challenger Outselling Chevy Camaro For the First Time

2019 Dodge Challenger Miami Lakes

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has started 2019 with great success against their closest rival, Chevrolet, with victory in their Dodge and Ram brand. The first quarter sales results have shown FCA’s Ram 1500 pickup, and Dodge Challenger outsold the Chevrolet Silverado pickup and Chevrolet Camaro. 2019 hasn’t just been a good year in terms of sales, it’s been a record year as Dodge notched their highest sales totals since 2008. The Dodge Challenger has now outsold the Chevy Camaro for the first time ever. So, what explains this sudden leap of popularity? We know most of it is based on the continued high-performance offered top customers, stronger and faster choices and the fantastic job by FCA and Dodge to keep improving.

The Dodge Brand Never Settles

The last several years, Dodge has introduced some of the fastest muscle cars in the history of the brand. First with the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, the Hellcat Widebody, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and the most recent SRT (street racing technology) vehicle, the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. Each of these vehicles has propelled the brand further ahead and supplied customers with over 700 horsepower in each vehicle, pushing the limits every year with faster final products. To anyone who has felt the rush of the massive V8 engines inside the latest Dodge Challenger, they would know why Dodge has continued to gain buyers.

The 2018 total sales show the Challenger exceeded the greatest-selling year the Challenger ever set in 2015 (66,716 sold versus 66,365 vehicles in 2015). Both of those numbers were higher than the Chevrolet Camaro’s total sales of 50,963 vehicles sold in 2018. The Dodge Challenger was the only muscle car on the market to receive a year-over-year gain, Motor1.com reported. What will 2019 bring about for the Dodge Challenger?

2019 Is Another Banner Year for Dodge

The reports have come in for the first quarter, showing that 2019 might be even better than in 2018. Through three months, Kelley Blue Book reports that the Dodge Challenger sold 13,431 vehicles ahead of Chevrolet’s Camaro with 12,083 vehicles sold. The Dodge Challenger hasn’t had a massive overhaul in terms of its frame and greater design in 11 years, but rather seen updates through the interior and under-the-hood. The future of Dodge will most likely include even faster and more powerful vehicles, but only time will tell.

We do know there will an electric future for the Dodge brand. Could Dodge unseat the Ford Mustang in the future for the number one spot? The Chevrolet Camaro was ahead for years, but today the Dodge Challenger is more popular and perhaps this momentum will continue for Dodge to overtake Ford at some point in the next decade. We’ll see, but for those looking to drive the latest Dodge SRT vehicles, coming to Miami Lakes Automall is the right choice.
