Chrysler’s Airflow EV Is More Than Just A Concept

Chrysler Airflow EV Concept

At long last! Chrysler revealed its first new models in several years, and it appears to be in the form of an electric crossover. More specifically, a crossover that could potentially flaunt the classic Airflow nameplate. This new car was first shown during parent company Stellantis’ EV Day event at the beginning of this year. Now, more information has been revealed regarding this concept piece, which is supposed to display new technology, which encompass electric platforms, driver-assistance features, and infotainment software.

On Software Day, CEO of Stellantis, Carlos Tavares said during the company’s presentation that its “more than a pure concept” and suggested that this car could arrive in production by 2024, backed by North American trademarks for the Airflow name, which was filed in 2019 and again this year (2021).

It isn’t an accident that Chryler’s new model nearly mirrors the shape and proportions of Ford’s Mustang Mach-E. Car and Driver’s winner of EV of the Year is already seeing success in sales in the car market. Although we don’t know the precise size of the Airflow, it seems highly probable that it will serve as a competitor for the Mach-E and other electric compact crossovers like Tesla’s Model Y and Volkswagen’s ID.4.

Stellantis has already announced their intentions to build four new EV platforms, which encompass: STLA Small, STLA Medium, STLA Large, and STLA Frame. It’s quite possible that the Airflow would end up on STLA Medium. According to previous statements Stellantis has made about its new electric models, this means that it could reach a driving range of up to 440 miles and use electric motors that produce between 167 and 241 horsepower. It’s also likely that there will be an all-wheel-drive (AWD) dual-motor option.

Inward, the Airflow features an exciting bundle of screens, starting with a large central infotainment display that’s sandwiched between separate screens for the driver and passenger. There are also entertainment screens for the rear seats. Connectivity features will presumably involve over-the-air updates and vehicle-to-vehicle communication.

Although the timeline of the production of Chrysler’s Airflow certainly isn’t concrete, we can deduce from the fact that it has side marker lights and exterior mirrors that it will arrive in showrooms a bit sooner than we might expect. Stellantis is aiming at 2024 for its new platforms, so it’s plausible that this Chrysler model will make its way to North America by 2025.

Chrysler’s New Groove For 2022

Stellantis’s minivan subdivision, a.k.a Chrysler, is still the go-to when it comes to family-centered vehicles. The 300 sedan, Pacifica, and Voyager all offer various standard infotainment features and conveniences, which also encompasses an augmented cabin air filtration system. However, the award-winning Pacifica is certainly the highlight when it comes to vehicles from this brand, as it receives the most year-over-year updates. Regardless, here are some changes to expect with these cars.

2022 Chrysler 300 Changes

The RWD Chrysler 300 sedan is available in Touring, Touring L, and 300S models. AWD is only an option on Touring and Touring L trims. Standard across the lineup, is a new air filtration system. This technology is responsible for removing 95 percent of air particulates inside of the cabin.

In intermediate 300 Touring L upgrades its list of standards to encompass the Sport Appearance package with “Black Noise” exterior badging, 20-inch Black Noise alloy wheels, a performance front fascia, and LED fog lamps. Additional new standard features for the highest-ranking 300S is Uconnect navigation, a 9-speaker premium sound system, and a dual-pane power sunroof. Hybrid models now come with a new Max Regeneration visual message seen on the instrument cluster display. All Pacificas have an available Amazon Fire TV, as well as a new color, Silver Mist, added to the list of paint colors. Trim-wise, a large portion of the upgrades are the surplus features to specific option packages.

Chrysler Brings Amazon Fire TV and Other Excitements To Its 2022 Lineup

The Chrysler company is showing 2022 what it’s made of with a slew of updates all throughout its lineup.

To begin with, their classic 300 luxury sedan will be geared with a new air filtration system that will supposedly sift out 95% of particulates. This technology should help lessen the amount of dust, smoke, and aerosols within the interior.

Other changes are quite minimal, however, the Touring L trim tacks on the freshly standard Sport Appearance package, which involves a more athletic-looking front fascia, LED fog lights and Black Noise accents. This mid-level model also brings along 20-inch wheels with a Black Noise finish.

At the same time, the highest-ranking 300S receives more standard technologies, some of which encompass GPS navigation, a panoramic sunroof, and a nine-speaker deluxe audio system with trunk-installed subwoofer.

Even though the newest 300 holds on to its “vintage” Uconnect 4C infotainment system, the brand’s 200 Voyager minivan (newly transitioned fleet vehicle) adds a new and improved Uconnect 5 infotainment system matched with a 7-inch display. It flaunts its augmented processing power, added personalization, and updated interface. Other spotlighting gadgets involve voice recognition technology, over-the-air updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In addition to the new infotainment system, the Voyager lets go of its base-level L trim and now has standard power sliding doors, a power liftgate and second-row Stow ‘n Go seats. It even includes a new air filtration system, a reworked color scheme, and heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

Potential buyers also have the option to select a new Safety and Premium Group, which merges river assistance systems with a larger 10.1-inch infotainment system featuring GPS navigation and SiriusXM 360L. This package also involves blind-spot monitoring, rear park assist, rear cross path detection, and full-speed forward collision warning-plus with pedestrian automatic emergency braking.

Speaking of minivans, the award-winning Pacifica, includes more comprehensive updates for its 2022 model year. One of the main features is its available rear seat entertainment system which has Amazon Fire TV. This technology comes with Alexa voice remotes and two 10.1-inch displays, which allows passengers to steam and watch videos from a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot. There is also 16 GB built-in, which means those aboard won’t even have to worry about using their data while road tripping.

This family car also comes with surplus standard gear involving a rear seat reminder and the previously mentioned air filtration technology. There is even a new Silver Mist color for the exterior and developed messaging for the Hybrid variant.

Moreover, the base Pacifica Touring now includes standard heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Moving above to the Touring L will award you with extra safety features like front park assist, parallel/perpendicular park assist and a 360° surround-view monitor. Then, the Limited trim comes with the earlier mentioned safety features along with a Harmon Kardon premium audio system. At last, the high-grade Pacifica Pinnacle will now encompass the Trailer Tow Group on gasoline models.

Chrysler Is Still Alive and Electrified

Last month (July 2021), Stellantis hosted Electric Vehicle Day, and it was during this event where they presented a thorough electrification strategy. Class-leading vehicles were also showcased, like the electric Ram 1500,  Jeep Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrid, and electric Dodge muscle car. The automaker also made sure not to leave its wild-card subsidiary out, the Chrysler brand.

The multinational automaker gave viewers on the webisode a sneak peek at their plans with some images of their Chrysler premium EV concept that is constructed upon the group’s STLA Large platform, while also detailing some of its plans.

At the current moment, Chrysler only has a trickle of models available in the North American market, such as the award-winning Pacifica minivan and the iconic 300 sedan. However, Stellantis’s CEO, Carlos Tavares commented earlier this year that the subsidiary would play a significant role in the manufacturer’s portfolio from this time on.

For quite some time, Stellantis has been constructing an SUV-shaped vehicle, deriving a bit from cars such as the Java and Portal concepts. From the outside looking in, it seems that there is some promise for Chrysler’s future, which we can thank the parent company’s announced electric revamp.

Exterior

The electric contraption, which was introduced by Chrysler’s Chief Design Officer Ralph Gilles, seems like the vehicle is already in pre-production rather than a simple design piece, which could mean that the wait for this vehicle may not be that long from an official reveal and eventual release.

Its long and thin LED headlights interlocking with a top grille and Chrysler wing was an athletic look to it, while the larger lowered grille hardly looks like a grille at all and more like a visual piece.

The side view has a hint of intensity and a sporty touch, with certain features like the floating roof design, fused door handles, and large, two-toned wheels. We don’t see much of anything from the rear, but we can deduce that there is a sloped back end and horizontal tail light lights, which are tasteful choices. Gilles said that Stellantis design studios have been working on the STLA Large platform and the cars derived from it for quite some time.

Interior

Moving indoors, we see high-tech this and multimedia that, even more so with the number of digital displays. The center dashboard is the largest of all fixed devices, corresponding with the fully digital instrument panel placed behind the steering wheel. Passengers in both the front and rear will have large screens at their disposal. Extra features in the front include a rotary shifter, dual cup holders, a flat bottom, and top steering wheel, a steering wheel with flattened top and bottom, as well as contoured seats.

Performance

We’ve also learned that the vehicles on the STLA Large platform will have batteries that range from 101 to 118 kWh. It’s estimated that the range will reach up to 500 miles in the ideal scenario. This platform will also be compatible with two electric drive modules or EDM, with one having outputs that range from 125 to 180 kW, while the other ranges from 150 to 330 kW.

When Will We See The Production Model?

We still don’t know about a specific release date. On the other hand, the company did make a declaration that in the year 2024, we should expect a major electric revolution. If this Chrysler model is released, it may get the moniker ATLANTIC, since Stellantis filed a trademark for the application name in 2020, which is still pending.

Miami Lakes Chrysler

While Chrysler still may have ways to go before its concept finally makes it to dealerships, the company still has its incredible Pacifica Hybrid at its disposal, which you can purchase at Miami Lakes Automall.

A Look Inside The 2021 Chrysler Voyager

Last year, Chrysler a.k.a the minivan company, released its Pacifica-like Voyager model to the dealerships. This entry-level car gets its power from a V6 engine and is accommodating for seven people. For 2021, this vehicle has pretty much mirrored the same specifications except the safety features which have gone through various improvements with gadgets like optional driver assistance with radar and camera sensors

The automaker is offering its Voyager in three different trims, specifically the L, LX, and LXI, which of course, vary in features and prices. Let’s explore more about what this mini-genius has to offer.

Roomy Interior and Ample Cargo

Inward, it’s obvious that the Voyager was made ultimate convenience, as only components that were deemed necessary are included. This concept still applies to the car’s simplistic makeup and uncostliness. The L trim seats seven passengers, but the LX and LXI can make room for 8. The vehicle has a three-row seating arrangement configuration, with more than enough legroom in each area. The front row has a measurement of 40.1 inches of headroom and 41.1 inches of legroom, the middle row has 39.6 and 39 inches, while the third row has 38.7 and 36.5 inches.

The Voyager isn’t just adept in space for its occupants, it’s just as accommodating for their luggage and other items, both big or small. The second row has in-floor storage bins for holding small-scale items. Then, cargo space for the minivan amounts to a total of 140.5 cubic-feet, with 32.3 cubic-feet with the seats up. The LXI trim is geared with the brand’s signature Stow N Go feature, which makes way for bucket seats in the second row and bench seats in the third row to fold for extra cargo room. The driver seat is also powered by an 8-way power adjustment as well as four-way lumbar support. The L model is a bit higher than the LX model, the upholstery encompasses high-quality cloth material, while the LXI Ultra Tex leatherette is found on the seats.

The infotainment system located in the central dashboard is user friendly and virtually seamless. It also comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display that is the hub for the Uconnect 4 system. The infotainment can be controlled through either voice commands or switches. Surplus features involve Bluetooth audio streaming, replying via voice-to-text, and auxiliary USB ports. Additionally, the LX model features a SiriusXM satellite radio, and buyers can even install a DVD player overhead.

Progressive Safety Features

Although the 2021 Voyager is quite affordable, it acts very expensive. Starting with the safety features, the carmaker has included Blind Spot Monitoring System that alerts drivers about vehicles in blind spots and also has a Rear Cross Path Detection system that alerts drivers if there is an incoming vehicle while they are backing out.

The reason why there is truly nothing like the Voyager is because of its perfect blend of affordability and family-centered features. The L trim has a starting price of $27,860, plus destination fee), the LX trim has a starting price of $30,570, (plus destination fee), and the LXI has a starting price of $33,245, (plus destination fee). One should know that rivals on the market, such as the Kia Sedona, Honda Odyssey, and Chevrolet Express Passenger have a higher starting price ranging from $30,400 to 47,820.

The Stellantis Company Has A Promising Future With Its 4 New Electric Platforms

Chrysler’s parent company, Stellantis (sometimes known as STLA) is finally showing what it’s truly made of with its new and improved electrified future. Earlier this month (July 8), the multinational automotive manufacturing corporation provided a great deal of information regarding its new electric vehicle platforms that inclusively are dubbed STLA or “Stella”. In total, there are four platforms, each of which will serve specified vehicles to make sure that the company does well at covering its bases.

From the least to the greatest, the Stellantis company put together STLA Small, STLA Medium, STLA Large, and STLA Frame. Fortunately, these monikers will make out what kinds of electric vehicles the platforms will uphold in the future. STLA will take care of “efficient city mobility,” while STLA Medium will be responsible for “premium vehicles.” Then, STLA Large is might be the most intriguing platform, as it is focused on “All-wheel drive performance and American muscle.” Certainly, all of these platforms will act as the support system for the highly anticipated electric muscle car from Dodge arriving in a few years. Lastly, the STLA Frame will bear future body-on-frame vehicles, like the 2024 Ram electric pickup truck. The other three platforms differ from their unibody framework.

The car company says that the plans for these platforms are for the house industry-leading battery mechanics, and the automaker even wants to start looking into solid-state battery technologies to that end, which is considered the best of the best of EV batteries. For the time being, Stellantis is expecting that ranges will reach up to 500 miles on a single change in the Large and Frame platforms. Additionally, there should be 440 miles for STLA Medium, while the Small architecture may range in 300 miles. Battery packs will have over 200 kilowatts of spirited hours in vehicles still piggybacking on STLA Frame. It’s also worth noting that this energy decreases the smaller the vehicles are, specifically as little as 37 kWh for vehicles on STLA Small.

Carlos Tavares, CEO of the Stellantis company, said during EV Day that the company is aiming for five “gigafactories” to back European and North American production of its future electrics with an astounding $35 billion investment in the next five years. It’s been predicted that 98% of the vehicles sold in the U.S. will have some sort of electrified upgrade by 2025. It’s also being predicted that the first new electric vehicles from Dodge, Ram, Jeep and Chrysler will arrive at dealerships in the next three to five years. Essentially, the automaker thinks its cars will reach arrive at a cost with the internal combustion engine by 2026,

“This is a wonderful opportunity to reset the clock and start a new race,” commented Taveres regarding the current state of the automotive industry. We love to compete” and the car company is in “full execution mode” to see its transition to electrics through.

The Stellantis Company Is Finally Getting Its First EV Plant

Stellantis EV Plant

The Stellantis company, which was recently formed due to the merging of FCA and PSA, won’t have to wait too long for the production base reserved solely for electric vehicles, following the footsteps of other European car manufacturers that have made moves in setting up production hubs reserved for battery-EVs. The car company aims to commit its factory in the UK’s Ellesmere Port to electric LCVs (light commercial vehicles) along with passenger electrics. This plant is meant to construct models under the following brands: Opel, Vauxhall, Citroën, and Peugeot.

The car maker intends to invest £100 million ($138 million) in the facility with the first models scheduled to leave the factory later in 2021, with versions for passenger and commercial vehicles on the way. The plant will also get a new body shop, an on-site battery-pack assembly facility, and an augmented general assembly. Additionally, the plant is expected to become carbon-neutral by the middle of the current decade.

“Performance is always the trigger for sustainability, and this £100million investment demonstrates our commitment to the UK and to Ellesmere Port,” said Carlos Tavares, CEO at Stellantis. “I particularly want to thank our highly skilled, dedicated workforce for their patience and contribution; we never let them down. Equally, I want to thank our partners the Unite Union for their open mind set and strong cooperation and, of course, the UK government for their continued support. Producing battery electric vehicles here will support clean, safe, and affordable mobility for the citizens. Since 1903 Vauxhall has manufactured vehicles in Britain and we will continue to do so.”

Stellantis is set to turn to more of PSA’s recent architecture, so it’s certainly plausible that we see varieties of electric models from PSA stateside in the years to come. This is because there are no actual battery-electric offerings from FCA on the automotive consciousness for the time being, while PSA has an expanding lineup of battery-electrics from Peugeot and Citroën. The European part of FCA’s lineup is aimed to benefit from the technologies of the EV rolled out by the two French automakers, with a good deal of models coming to dealership lots soon.

In regards to light commercial vehicles, the Ellesmere Port plant will assemble battery-electric editions of the Opel and Vauxhall Combo-e and its passenger variant, along with the Citroën e-Berlingo, as well as its passenger version, and the Peugeot e-Partner with a passenger model of its own.

The plant, which was launched in 1962, manufactured Vauxhall and Opel vehicles in the early days under the ownership of General Motors, beginning with the Vauxhall Viva in 1964, and was obtained by French automaker PSA only a few years ago alongside the two closely knit brands. Vauxhall itself reaches all the way back to 1903, while Opel is even more ancient and has been owned by General Motors since the late 1920s, making a few showings stateside, while Vauxhall got a bit of limelight in Canada in the previous decades. Opel had been matched closely with Vauxhall for nearly all of its tenure with General Motors, until both were brought on by PSA in 2017.

Miami Lakes Chrysler

Speaking of electric vehicles, Miami Lakes Automall has the incredible and dynamic 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan in its possession. It’s filled with plenty of family-friendly technologies and has plenty of cargo space to work with, not to mention that its dual electric motors are responsible for helping you save gas.

Why Everyone Needs Apple CarPlay

Apple CarPlay is now the go-to system when it comes to optimizing your driving experience in modern cars. The reason is that its interface takes the concept of hands-free technology to the next level, as it allows users of Apple products to have access to their favorite features via the car’s (with Apple CarPlay) infotainment system. Therefore, replicating what’s on your phone or iPad onto the infotainment screen.

Customizable Interface

Any good infotainment system has an interface that is user-friendly, and the same applies to Apple CarPlay. One can personalize their experience with this system, such as moving their preferred apps to the first eight spots, and the remaining ones to the following screen. Communication apps will likely be the most beneficial to do this type of customization, but entertainment features are still a must-have when sitting in heavy traffic.

Hand-Free Calls and Texts

One of the best reasons to have Apple CarPlay is its safety aspect. It’s no secret that distracted driving is the cause of far too many automobile accidents and deaths each year, specifically with 1 out of every 4 car accidents in the United States is caused by texting and driving. CarPlay allows you to make phone calls and read text messages aloud without needing to take your hands off the steering wheel or eyes off the road, as this feature only needs your voice command to activate.

Navigation

Another common feature in modern infotainment systems is navigation. However, if you prefer third-party apps such as Google Maps and Waze, you can still access them through Apple CarPlay. When using Waze, for example, you will be provided with instructions turn-by-turn, as well as other important information like accidents, road obstructions, and more. Users can hear and see navigation instructions, making it much safer when trying to find their way to their destination.

Personalized Entertainment

The average driver will spend about an hour in his or her car, and this is even more frequent for parents of children with extracurricular activities. Therefore, it’s almost essential to have some of your favorite entertainment apps at your disposal. With Apple CarPlay, you’ll have access to apps like Apple Music/iTunes, Sirius XM, Podcasts and Google Play Music.

Additionally, you can use CarPlay to personalize a radio station containing music that is similar to a particular song that you like. Simply touch three dots on the “Now Playing” menu to find this option.

Why It’s A Need More Than A Want

Even though you can technically live without Apple CarPlay, you’re missing out on life-changing convenience. As we previously mentioned, distracted driving leads to many accidents and deaths each year, and having a hands-free system can virtually (pun-intended) eliminate this problem. If you care about being a safe driver, having this system isn’t just an option, it’s a must-have.

Miami Lakes Chrysler

One brand that specializes in family-friendliness and safety is Chrysler, specifically with their 2021 Chrysler Pacifica minivan. This vehicle is filled with safety features and technologies and has AppleCarPlay, along with Android Auto integration on its 10.1-inch touchscreen.

You can buy this award-winning vehicle at Miami Lakes Automall, as well as its Hybrid version at an affordable price. Those who are interested in any of our models can simply view our online new car inventory and chat with a representative for further assistance.

The Stellantis Company Gives Their Brands 10 Years To Show What They’re Made Of

Stellantis Has A 10 Year Investment In Their Brands

Ever since we learned of the merger between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the french PSA Group, many have questioned the fate of the brand’s subsidiary Chrysler and Dodge. More specifically, Chrysler, which has faced some challenges in figuring out how to even define itself over the past 10 years. Thankfully, we’ve gotten a bit of an update from the head honcho of this new Stellantis brand, formed by the collaboration of FCA and PSA.

Car blog, Autocar reported on remarks from CEO, Carlos Tavares from the Financial Times’ Future of the Car Summit, in which all of Stellantis’s brands will get a 10-year investment. With big-ticket brands like Chrysler, Dodge, Alfa Romeo as well as other subsidiaries of the automaker, will get a particular sum in hopes of creating a core methodology. All together, Tavares is aiming to see results within this 10-year time span.

“My clear management stance is that we give a chance to each of our brands, under the leadership of a strong CEO, to define their vision, build a roadmap and make sure they use the valuable assets of Stellantis to make their business case fly,” he said. That comes with a “time window of 10 years” for success, the CEO added. The automaker refused to comment any more than that.

For the Dodge brand, and Chrysler especially, that’s more than enough time to work with. Even though Dodge is continuing to experience success as defines itself as the go-to place for muscle cars, while Chrysler (whether it was intended or not) has become known more as a minivan company owing to its large push for its award-winning Chrysler Pacifica, as well as the entry-level version, the Voyager. Surprisingly enough, Chrysler’s one and only luxury 300 sedan, however, on that end, it’s not nearly as popular as it was in its heyday.

With a decade of investments into these brands, it will be exciting to see just how Chrysler will try to reinvent itself to stand out in the large assortment of Stellantis brands, which involves posh and sporting subsidiaries like Maserati and the previously mentioned Alfa Romeo. Jeep and Ram remain the company’s pride and joy, owing to the great blast in popularity in pickups and SUVs, not only in North America but the world.

Only time will tell if Chrysler will come out swinging or even the champion in its own company. Perhaps with the popularity of its prized Pacifica, it could rebrand as a family-friendly subsidiary, with not just more minivan crossovers but SUVs as well. Either way, the possible minivan brand has 10 years to get it together.

The Best Guide To Finding Your Ideal Electric Ride

The appeal of electric vehicles is at an all-time high. With the growing push and even enforcement in some countries for businesses to lower their emission levels, many automakers are restructuring their platforms towards fully electric cars.

On the other hand, there are still plenty of skeptics, particularly in North America over concerns regarding cost, choice, and charging. If you’re a newbie in electric car shopping, the process may seem a bit daunting at first. Here are some tips and tricks to help you understand the right vehicle for you.

Determine What You’re Looking For

Electric vehicles can be fun to drive and don’t necessitate nearly as much maintenance as a gasoline-powered car nor produce as many emissions. However, even in knowing that you want an electric car, it can still be daunting to know which one to choose from.

“Is it basic transportation? Or is it an expression of yourself and your personality?” said Matt DeLorenzo, senior managing editor for Kelley Blue Book. “Cars are a statement about their buyers. If they weren’t, there wouldn’t be a Mercedes.”

Gasoline or not, cars a statement for anyone, it could be for status and style like with Mercedes-Benz or Tesla or it could be centered around affordability.  Those who prefer luxury EVs will likely involve more avant-garde technologies, but realistically, the general public will prefer more bargain-friendly brands. To put into perspective, non-luxury brands like Nissan typically start their EVs around $30,000, (plus destination fee), while brands like Mercedes-Benz may start around $100,000, (plus destination fee).

Figure Out How and Where You Will Charge

Those who make the first switch towards an electric should first determine the location of where their main charging location will be. For most people, the ideal place is in the comfort of their own home, however, since the newer cars and trucks will have the ability to drive on 200 miles or more with a single charge, some may choose to “refuel” as needed while at work or a public charging station.

It is worth noting that charging an electric vehicle at home will take much slower…like close to 24 hours slow just to reach a full charge. It is for this reason that many buyers choose available 240-volt outlets, like the ones used by large kitchen appliances, which would usually require hiring an electrician to do the installation.

“You’re basically installing something unique for the electric car — there is a cost associated with that,” said Alistair Weaver, editor in chief of Edmunds.com.

Another factor to consider is how outside conditions could affect the range of the vehicle, for instance, cold weather can significantly cut down a vehicle’s scope. Nevertheless, while range anxiety is real, experts say that it’s often overblown. According to Jake Fisher, senior director of auto testing for Consumer Reports, many owners of electrics don’t even charge their cars on a daily basis simply because they don’t need to.

Understand What You Can Afford

Yes, believe it or not, it is possible for the average consumer to afford an electric car. While it is true that gasoline vehicles are cheaper, keep in mind that EVs, federal and state breaks, utility grants, among other savings can help to counteract the price.

With electric vehicles, the federal government offers a $7,500 tax credit. Though it doesn’t offer it as much for Tesla’s or GM’s, it is still available for many other brands, such as the Pacifica Hybrid. A new 2021 minivan has a starting price of $40,620, (plus destination fee) but after the federal tax credit, this can drop down to around 33,000. On top of this, states, cities, and some companies even offer incentives for companies for buying EVs or installing chargers at home.

What’s more, it’s cheaper to own an electric car. According to Consumer Reports, the average EV owner will spend 60 percent less to charge their car, no matter if it’s a sedan, truck, or an SUV. Moreover, these types of drivers will spend far less on repairs and maintenance, especially since no oil changes will be needed.

If you’re really looking for a deal, buying a pre-owned EV is an option. However, as with any used car, make sure to make a personal assessment such as the quality of the battery. It could also be a great choice for a second car for short errands or trips.

Consider A Plug-In

With all of that said, fully electric vehicles may not be for everyone…at least not yet. Fisher said it best when he commented “If you’re interested but not really sure you want to commit, these plug-in hybrids are kind of a gateway,”

Many electric vehicles aren’t suitable enough to meet the needs of families, such as not having enough rows or space for equipment. Also, some individuals may not be able to easily charge at or near their hopes. This is another reason why Fisher recommends a plug-in.

Miami Lakes Chrysler

Speaking of plug-ins, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan has the ability to run on 32 miles on a full charge before switching to the gasoline engine. It would work great for those who want to go on long-distance trips without worrying whether or not their charging stations are nearby.
