Excellent Fuel Savings of the Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid

While the Chrysler Pacifica has some competition in the SUV and minivan segments, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid’s unique powertrain makes it a leader in fuel economy and versatility in both the SUV and minivan segments.

In 2017, Chrysler replaced the brand’s beloved minivan, the Chrysler Town & Country, with the new Chrysler Pacifica and a PHEV variant, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is the first minivan available with a plug-in hybrid electric powertrain, so not only does it offer consumers a large versatile space that accommodates people and/or cargo, it also has an excellent fuel economy, which is a rare find in a vehicle that’s as big as the Pacifica Hybrid.

Space

Interior cargo space is typically the one non-negotiable factor for people who are shopping for a vehicle as large as a minivan or a full-size SUV. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid offers spacious seating for seven passengers, and it provides more legroom for second- and third-row passengers than most 7-passenger SUVs on the market. There is up to 39 inches of legroom in the second-row seats and 36.5 inches of legroom in the third-row seats.

Not only is the van spacious, but users can easily adjust the cabin layout to meet their needs. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is equipped with third-row Stow ‘n Go seating, so the third-row seats can easily be folded away to create a large space behind the second-row seats. The third-row seats are 60/40 split-folding seats so its possible for a user to fold down all three seats, two of the seats or only one of the seats.

Fuel Economy

The fuel economy of the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is unmatched by any other vehicle that is as large as the Pacifica. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid can be powered in a number of ways.

Electric

The minivan can travel up to 33 miles on pure electricity, so if a driver doesn’t have long distances to travel at once, it is definitely possible for a driver to do all or a majority of their driving powered by electricity, which is also 33 miles where no emissions are eliminated. When the Chrysler Pacifica is powered by pure electricity, fueleconomy.gov estimates that the cost to drive 25 miles is $1.30, which is dirt cheap compared to the cost of a large vehicle to travel 25 miles.

Gas

The best part about the Pacifica Hybrid is that it offers drivers solutions. Sure, driving on electricity is great for the environment and it reduces fuel costs, but that’s not always ideal, so the Pacifica Hybrid is equipped with a gas-powered engine, too. The gas-powered engine is a more fuel efficient modified version of the 3.6-liter V6 engine that is found in the Chrysler Pacifica. When the Pacifica Hybrid is only powered by its gas engine, it has a combined city/highway fuel economy of 32 mpg, again, still better than any other large passenger vehicle on the market.

Hybrid

Finally, the Chrysler Pacifica can be powered in hybrid mode, which is a combination of the gas-engine and battery-powered electric motors working together. When the Pacifica Hybrid is operating in hybrid mode it has a combined fuel economy of 84 MPGe, and a total driving range of 566 miles.

Chrysler has definitely pulled out all the stops when redesigning the Pacifica, and as a result, the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica was awarded “Family Car of the Year” by Cars.com at the North American International Auto Show.

According to Cars.com editors, “Chrysler has a history of stuffing its minivans with innovations, and the Pacifica is no exception. It’s an achievement in practicality, from the improved Stow ‘n Go fold-flat seats to the available rear entertainment system that impresses even versus mobile devices. None of that costs you on the driving front, where the Pacifica pairs refined ride quality and quietness with a capable V-6. Following its 2017 model-year introduction, the minivan improved for 2018 thanks to newly standard safety features, a price reduction in base models and updated multimedia systems with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s as competitive as ever, and perhaps even more so.”

Since the Pacifica is looked at as a family hauler, safety is key. There are more than 100 standard features plus even more available features like a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and forward-collision alert. The first year the Pacifica was available, the Chrysler Pacifica was recognized as the first minivan to win Cars.com “Best of” award. According to the Cars.com experts, in order to determine the award winners, experts take three key criteria for every car that’s tested – quality, innovations and value. These are assets that experts consider for a well-rounded, award-worthy vehicle.

The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica is the best minivan for a number of different reasons, and the four that stand out the most are functionality, versatility, technology and bold styling. While offering over 100 available safety and security features, the Chrysler Pacifica was also given a full-body facelift including an all-new platform that delivers exceptional powertrains and fuel efficiency.  Furthermore, the Chrysler Pacifica offers an abundance of comfort and convenience features like the Uconnect Theater rear-seat entertainment system. If all these amazing features weren’t enough, the Chrysler brand decided to kick things up a notch by adding the Pacifica Hybrid to the lineup. This Pacifica Hybrid’s advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain can achieve 84 miles per gallon equivalent while running on electric-only and 33 miles running solely on electric range.

“For 35 years, our Chrysler minivans have led the segment we created, and that continues in 2018 with the Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid now adding 4G LTE Wi-Fi with unlimited data plans for $20 per month,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and Fiat, FCA – North America. “The Pacifica’s new, faster 4G LTE network speed creates an in-vehicle Wi-Fi Hotspot that keeps everyone in the family connected with up to eight mobile devices, making it easy to browse websites, check email and stream video. Passengers can also make the most of the class-exclusive Uconnect Theater system by utilizing the 4G hotspot to stream content via HDMI connected devices such as Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Chromecast or Apple TV.”

The Chrysler brand has made some additional adjustments to the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica lineup. For starters, Chrysler introduced the more affordable Chrysler Pacifica L as well as a new Hybrid trim, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring Plus. To make things easier for consumers, Chrysler renamed the hybrid trims to the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring L and Chrysler Pacifica Limited and Hybrid Touring Plus. For the 2018 model year, the Chrysler Pacifica is available with the S Appearance Package that offers a customized, athletic look that includes black accents inside and out.

Get Sneaky – Hide Christmas Gifts in the Stow ‘n Go Seating Compartments

2018 chrysler pacifica stow and go miami lakes automall chrysler

With just days away from Christmas, if your little ones haven’t found their Christmas gifts yet, chances are they’re still on the hunt. And it’s that curiosity that drives parents to go to great lengths keep their children’s presents a surprise until Christmas morning. Hiding Christmas presents from kids is just as important as finding great deals during the holiday season – even a car! The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and the Dodge Grand Caravan  offer plenty of great hiding spots but most importantly, both models are standard equipped with the Stow ‘n Go Storage System.

Named the Best Family Car by Cars.com, the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica is a parent’s dream come true. It’s also the only minivan in its class that offers the Stow n’ Go Seating Storage System.

Sliding the front seats forward, allows for easy access to built-in floor storage bins. Yes, you heard correct – IN-FLOOR bins. These versatile seats not only allow for more room in the interior cabin when the seats are stored, but when the seats aren’t stored, the storage bins are empty, and their discreet location makes them a great place to hide Christmas presents when doing some Christmas shopping. Let’s be real, the floor of the car is the last place kids would think to look for their presents. And, the irony is that their gifts are literally under their feet!

The 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan also offers the Stow n’ Go Seating Storage System and saves about the same amount of interior room as the Chrysler Pacifica. When the second- and third row-seats in both the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Pacifica are stored in the bins, there is nearly triple the amount (140 cubic feet) of flat space for cargo. So, even if parents are trying to hide those presents, there is enough storage space in the compartment to put items on top of the present.

So whether parents choose the Chrysler Pacifica or the Dodge Grand Caravan, both offer a lot of van for their buck. Interested in test driving a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica or 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan?
