Chevrolet has some special edition Silverado 1500 pickups coming soon. Two unique packages are being released, the return of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Midnight and Rally editions, first shown at the State Fair of Texas. The 2020 Silverado 1500 Midnight Edition has an all-black theme complete with its blacked-out 18-inch wheels, exhaust tips, doorsteps, badges, and a black grill. The Midnight Edition will be available for the LT Trail Boss as well as the Custom Trail Boss trims. The 2020 Silverado is already an off-road capable pickup, but this appearance package adds a solid and defined look to the latest 1500. Let’s go over the differences between these two packages returning to the Silverado 1500 line-up.

Inside the Silverado Midnight Edition

Under the hood of the Silverado LT Trail Boss Midnight Edition, owners gain the 6.2-Liter V8 powertrain that equips 420 horsepower and a solid 460 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission and adds LED headlamps with dark bezels and stand daytime running lights. If owners opt for the Customer Trail Boss Midnight Edition, the choice of two powertrain options includes the 5.3-Liter V8 engine that carries a six-speed automatic transmission or they can opt for the larger 6.2-Liter V8 engine tied to the 10-speed automatic transmission. The Midnight Edition is a sleek looking package that has defined look customers hope to secure. The other Special Edition trim is equally as impressive with a wider color scheme for the body.

Everything About the Rally Edition

In regards to the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Rally Edition, owners looking for a modern urban appearance can find the special edition for the Custom and RST trims. Multiple bodycolor choices are offered included Red Hot, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White or black. The Silverado RST and the Rally Edition have the body-colored grille with black stripes on the tailgate and over the hood. Black badging, black bowties, black exhaust tips with black 22-inch wheels. The Custom Rally Edition has black 20-inch wheels. Each Rally edition offers the 2.7-Liter turbo-four powertrain paired to an eight-speed automatic with the RST Rally Edition that can have the 5.3-Liter V8 or 6.2-Liter V8 engine. Thinking about adding the new 2020 Silverado 1500? Don’t worry about where to go to find them.

Chevrolet Introduces New Small Block V8 ZZ6 EFI Engine

Chevrolet has a surprise for fans of horsepower in the form of an aftermarket V8 engine. The new ZZ6 EFI engine was featured under the hood of a classic 1967 Chevrolet C/10 pickup truck at the 2018 SEMA show in Las Vegas. With upgraded components that increase the power to 418 horsepower and new electronically controlled fuel injection support, the ZZ6 EFI takes a modern approach of V8 engine capabilities. The engine is small and compact, a part of small block Chevy engines, but provides impressive power to the tune of 418 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Quite impressive, Chevrolet.

More On the ZZ6 EFI

The only catch with this new engine is the cost. We’re not sure what Chevrolet will charge for it, but we do know that Chevrolet brought 30 crate engines to Las Vegas. Chevrolet hopes to gain attention from the vehicle modifiers that are the most enthusiastic customers of these crate engines. The custom hot rod and modern restoration companies are going to be clamoring to get their hands on this latest small block V8 engine with its new technology. Pickup truck buyers are more likely to buy aftermarket parts and accessories, like the ZZ6 EFI, more so than any other vehicle owner. Upgrades are approximately amounting to 29 percent of total vehicle-accessory sales, which is the highest amount across the automotive industry.

The C/10 pickup displayed at SEMA containing the ZZ6 EFI carried significant modifications that included 20-inch wheels, a lowered suspension and custom Chevy bumpers. There was also a restored 1978 K10 Silverado pickup that held a L96 big block V8 crate engine. These are two impressive old-school vehicles that have the latest Chevrolet engines inside of them, providing a modern retro appeal that can only be found in custom concepts. That’s what makes events like SEMA so fun for both automakers and those invited to attend.

A Rich History of Powertrains

For over 63 years, Chevrolet small block engines have paved the way for strength and power. From the 1955 265 CID to the latest 2018 ZZ6 EFI engine, Chevrolet has built trust among fans and critics alike. When looking for the Chevrolet dealership to go to and trust, there’s no selection or customer care better than the Miami Lakes Automall experience.

2019 Chevy Malibu Receives Camaro Facelift

Tuesday, October 16th, 2018

Chevrolet has made many vehicles stand out with their remarkable performance. Sometimes the exterior design might not highlight the true value and performance offered for what’s under the hood. That will no longer be the case for the Chevy Malibu. A new front grille will be added to the midsize car, based off the sixth generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Undoubtedly, the Camaro is one of the most dynamically designed GM muscle cars of the present era and perhaps one of the most aggressive looking Chevy products. With an angular lower edge to effectively channel air up through the massive grille, this signature Camaro look has been replicated for the latest Malibu. A company that is known for making specialty hoods, AeroNine, has also made their mark on the latest 2019 Chevy Malibu.

AeroNine Makes a Malibu Look Like a ZL1

The current, ninth-generation Chevy Malibu is an incredible midsize sedan, as Chevrolet did make an effort to improve the look of the 2019 Malibu with a facelift. Produced by kit maker AeroNine, the aftermarket fascia gives the Malibu a look very much reminiscent of Chevy’s sixth-generation Camaro ZL1, with a small gap right below the narrow grille opening, which holds the bow tie, known as the Chevrolet logo.

The front end of this body kit package looks just like the front end of the latest Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The wide lower grille is in between two smaller inlets, each housing vertical LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL). Four UltraSonic parking sensors – two at the midline of the front fascia, and two near the lower lip have been added the AeroNine body kit, and a bold valance style gives the package into an indistinguishable look. While the Chevy Malibu headlights have been retained for the new model year, the upper and lower grille are changed to look like the Camaro ZL1. Multiple items are similar to the Chevrolet ZL1 in fact, like a set of slotted vents with LED trim as well as the bottom of the front fascia with its sporty chin spoiler.

While the current Chevy Malibu is not comparable to the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in terms of high-performance power, that doesn’t mean owners can change the look. The front end design of the supercharged muscle car can be replicated to the front end of the mid-size Chevy sedan with the AeroNine body kit. For those that have a newer Chevy Malibu and want it to share the front end design akin to the Camaro ZL1, this package is ready to add more curb appeal to their Malibu.

More on the 2019 Chevy Malibu

Among the top tier sedans for the Chevrolet lineup is the new 2019 Chevy Malibu. The 2019 Chevy Malibu has been awarded by J.D. Power as the “Most Dependable Midsize Car” based on a survey of 2015 models. Drivers will cherish the Malibu Premier trim that offers a powerful 250-horsepower 2.0-Liter turbocharged ECOTEC engine that is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and boasts front wheel drive. The 2019 Chevy Malibu comes standard across all trims with engines that are joined to a continuously variable transmission to support and boost fuel efficiency. For those hoping to drive the latest Chevy vehicles, there’s only one place to go!

Chevrolet Unveils the Remarkable ZR2 Bison

Chevrolet is revamping their 2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 with the new ZR2 Bison trim. This off-road version of the Colorado pickup is a rugged trim made possible with a partnership with American Expedition Vehicles. Chevy’s newest mid-size truck option with unlimited off-road capabilities was first introduced at the 2017 Specialty Equipment Market Association show (SEMA) as a concept vehicle. The Colorado ZR2 Bison is not your average pickup as the undercarriage of the Bison carries high level protection with five skid plates. The skid plates are comprised of hot-stamped boron steel. With the mindset of making a fully protected truck capable of dealing with the harsh trails of expeditions, Chevrolet has succeeded with flying colors.

How Ready Is the Bison For Off-Road Travel?

The 2019 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison includes a 2.8-Liter, six-speed Duramax turbo-diesel engine that generates 186-horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The Bison also drives on huge 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac off-road tires. Customers can choose between either a crew or extended cab for the truck. There’s also the addition of third-party add-ons like a snorkel from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) that is fitted for all Colorado pickup trucks. While this is the first time AEV has worked with Chevy, they have pulled out all the stops to make this vehicle a success.

Drivers can feel secure going on the road less traveled knowing there’s armor protecting the fuel tank, transfer case, locking differentials and oil pan. The protection is provided by AEV, who helped make the Jeep Wrangler Brute. There’s no need to buy any extra protection or modifications for the new 2019 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison; it’s ready to go off-road from the first day of purchase. AEV also provided its expertise to the ZR2 Bison’s stamped steel front and rear bumpers. The front bumper includes fog lights which helps with nighttime visibility for drivers. The bumper also includes winch provisions.

Strong and Capable, This Bison Is Ready For Everyone To See

The Bison is decked out in Bison decals, all visible along the bed sides, and an AEV Bison logo (where the Bison gets its name) resides along the tailgate. The AEV logo is apart of the interior, embroidered on top of the floor liners and front head restraints. The Bison will not carry the Chevrolet bowtie on its grille however, replaced with the Chevrolet brand on the front end.

“More and more enthusiasts are discovering that Colorado is ideal for off-roading, especially overland travel. The Colorado Z71 offers a full suite of off-road equipment, the maneuverability of a midsize truck and the driving range of a class-exclusive diesel engine. The Colorado ZR2 offers even greater off-road capability with class-exclusive front and rear locking differentials. And now, Bison offers customers an even more extreme turnkey off-road truck ready to tackle your next adventure,” said Sandor Piszar, Director of Chevy Marketing.

The Bison Is Ready to Roam

This vehicle is highly shielded, looks imposing from the start and matches customers expectations of being an engaged off-road vehicle. While there are a total of four options for the Colorado sold by Chevy, this is the extreme off-road option for customers. The diesel option, a V6 gas engine option, the ZR2 off-road and now the Bison trim make up the Colorado pickup lineup. Whichever one is desired, there’s a place that has them ready to go.
