Expect Chevrolet to produce the latest Corvette lineup normally now that their plants are back and running like normal. The factory responsible for making the Chevrolet Corvette is producing 800-850 cars a week. While normally at this point in time they would be producing the next model year (in this case, the 2021 model year), Chevrolet is still producing the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette. The Corvette entered its production phase for the 2020 model year with a slow start to the production run. Then COVID-19 hit and the setback took away months of valuable time to create and offer the vehicle. However, now Chevrolet is back to offer its first-ever mid-engine Corvette.

What A Year It Has Been For the 2020 Corvette

After overcoming a United Automobiles Workers (UAW) strike, the perils of COVID-19, we’ve learned the 2020 Corvette is being made safely at the Bowling Green, Kentucky Chevrolet plant. The production of the 2020 model year will last through this year with the following 2021 Corvette to begin early in 2021. The shutdown did allow time for suppliers to create a surplus before Chevrolet started the Corvette production again. Keep in mind, prior to the pandemic, Chevrolet had actually started a second shift to help meet the demands for the beloved Chevy sports car. There are rumors about what the production lineup will look like for 2022 and 2023, but as far as the present and the immediate future, Chevrolet is going to complete what it started with the all-new generation Corvette. The “C8” will have its run finished and the new 2021 Corvette will have to wait its turn.

What Comes After the 2020 Corvette Production Run?

Chevrolet has revealed what to expect with the 2021 Corvette, including two new body colors including Red Mist Tintcoat and Silver Flare, but let us also remind our readers about all the perks awaiting them if should opt for the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette. The 2021 Silverado 3500 HD is that vehicle that will push the envelope as Chevy hopes to inspire more customer confidence that in the brand. To make towing easier than ever, the Silverado HD carries a new towing-assistance system that will provide eight cameras that offer as many as 15 different unique views for drivers to monitor to ensure a precise experience.

More Perks of the 2021 Silverado HD

The price of the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD is $35,900 MSRP (Plus destination fee). Owners will be able to embrace its 6.6-Liter V8 engine or the diesel variation of the same powertrain. Customers can keep in mind the Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD has better towing ratings than the Ram 3500 HD and Ford F-350 Super Duty. Chevrolet Silverado Introduces New Technology For 2021 Model Year

Owners will have more versatility than ever before using the configurable tailgate can be lowered down in three different places. With the quick hit on the key fob or on the tailgate buttons, the truck bed drops down like a regular tailgate, with another push the bed can have a cutout in the middle, or retract, as well as expand the bed length to serve as a bed stop. The configuration allows for the entire midsection to be lowered down. There’s a setup that allows two-step access over the bed.

A new crop of pickups has added some functionality to the truck bed, but not quite like the Chevrolet Silverado provides. For instance, the 2021 Ram 1500 will offer a split tailgate, however, there are half as many customizable options. The 2021 Ford F-150 will provide an available tailgate (that costs extra) and it also doesn’t have as many configurations as well.

Enjoy the 2021 Silverado Pickup

The 2021 Silverado has received some strength in its towing capacity even with the smaller engines. The 2.7-Liter turbo-4 in rear-wheel drive raises its tow rating 2,500 pounds to 9,300 pounds with the crew cab and the short 5-foot-8 bed. A regular cab with a long bed has a towing capacity of 9,600 pounds. The cooling performance surpassed expectations, allowing it to tow more, Chevy has claimed. The 3.0-Liter turbodiesel inline-6 now has gained a boost in towing capacity of up to 9,500 pounds in rear-wheel-drive models. The towing increase comes from a rear axle that was more durable than expected, Chevy explained.

Like the 3.0-Liter turbodiesel in the 2021 Sierra, the 2021 Silverado turbo diesel is going to see a lower price of about $1,500 less than the previous year. Chevrolet touts its diesel engine as the most fuel-efficient engine with an estimated maximum highway range of 668 miles with best-in-class 23 city mpg and 33 highway mpg for all 2WD models. The 3.0-Liter inline-six powertrain gives owners 460 lb-ft of torque with 277 horsepower.

Upgraded Technology Is Very Apparent

To make life easier on those owners who will use the advanced trailering technology, an available feature provides a camera system that can display vehicles in the blind spots of the trailer. Owners can trigger a jack-knife alert as well. The camera system has an option that displays guidelines and open visibility when reversing a trailer into place. A cargo bed zoom helps owners ease onto a gooseneck hitch or fifth-wheel hitch. Driver assistance features can be added to base trims, and other features are available.

The standard perks of the 2021 Silverado 1500 include wireless smartphone connectivity come for all mid-grade trims and above. The 2021 Silverado goes on sale this fall. There are also features that are offered for midrange trims that extend the luxurious features that come standard for the higher trims. Some of those features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The future of Silverado will gain more features for the 2022 model year, but there are many days ahead before that one comes. To get a closer look at the wonderful Silverado 1500 pickup, we are ready to help our customers drive one today.

Chevrolet Silverado Will Receive Refresh For 2022 Model Year

Silverado Miami Lakes Automall

Everyone who loves the Chevrolet Silverado can attest to its strength and comfortable ride; that’s what has helped Chevy regain its spot as the second-best seller of pickups in 2020. For those that are keeping score, Chevrolet has only had one end of the year finish that didn’t see Chevrolet finish in the top two spots. (Ram just got lucky in 2019!) Well, the news for the upcoming 2022 Chevrolet Silverado shows major updates that will continue to shape the pickup towards what owners are hoping for. The latest spy shots show a similar Silverado that looks agile, but as powerful as ever. The changes can be spotted with a new tailgate and other updates. Let us break down the upcoming changes for the famed Silverado pickup truck.

Changes Coming To the 2022 Silverado

Cars.com gave high marks for the Silverado earlier this year, but we’re certain that 2021 will show the Chevrolet brand taking home even more recognition for its engineering. It could be thanks to the reshaping of the vehicle that includes an all-new fascia and a new two-tiered lighting setup that is found on the 2022 model year. The design of the exterior includes a new thin LED accent and daytime running lights at the top of the fascia, with the primary headlight element mounted slightly lower. The cab of the Silverado looks to be the same as the previous model year, but a new bed step might be added from its 2020 Silverado heavy-duty models

More On the Silverado Refresh

The latest spy photos do not show the interior, but we expect changes inside. The all-new fourth-generation Silverado came out in 2019, but its interior was lackluster compared to the competition for some buyers. The consumers will always be right and Chevrolet listened to its base to revamp the cockpit. GM Authority has said the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado will gain a revised center stack similar to the all-new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban have received. We will have to wait and see how the Silverado looks inside, but from what we are hearing, we are sure its going to appease the fans of the Chevy brand, as every great vehicle refresh does.

We want to welcome our shoppers back to our shop or help them buy online if they wish. We’re ready to assist our customers every day. Experience the difference at Miami Lakes Automall!

Chevrolet Gets J.D. Power’s Stamp Of Approval For 2020

General Motors Top-Ranking Brand

Racecar driver Louis Chevrolet surely couldn’t have imagined how much of a powerhouse that his famous automobile company would turn out to be, especially with its most recent honor. The century-old brand was recently ranked amid the top companies for customer loyalty by J.D. Power’s 2020 U.S. Automotive Brand Study.

The data from the renowned J.D. Power states that roughly 49.1 percent of all Chevrolet owners end up purchasing another vehicle by the brand once a new vehicle has been released into the market. The ability to preserve their customer base puts Chevrolet in seventh place amid all non-premium brands in the automobile industry and third within American brands, also peeping just before Ford with 54.3 percent and Ram with 57.3 percent.

Other companies from Chevy’s parent company General Motors were also ranked on J.D’s list,  such as GMC ranking 13 from its 39 percentage and Buick tailing behind at 14 with a 27.5 percentage. Additionally, Cadillac was ranked separately as a luxury brand and placed tenth in its segment with 33.8 percent. Overall, Chevrolet was the top-ranking brand of Chevrolet Motors in the J.D. study.

In the second year of the J.D. Power Brand Loyalty study, it places automotive brands subject to the percentage of owners that swap out their vehicle with another car from that same brand. The data for the study was collected between June 2019 and May 2020, it also includes data for all model-year vehicles that were exchanged. This denotes that owners who purchased a significantly older Chevy vehicle, for instance, and replaced it by buying a new Chevy car from a dealership were counted towards the customer retention total.

Tyson Jominy, J.D. Power’s vice president of data and analytics, said that automakers will be eager to keep their existing base, particularly in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Many automobile manufacturers have been forced to slow down their production and refigure how to go about promoting new vehicles since buyers more than likely will have to be a bit stingy with their money for a while.

“Automakers are really focused on customer retention, as evidenced by the payment plans and incentives they’ve offered since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out,” said Jominy. “Many have gone above and beyond to offer customers financial assistance during a period of economic uncertainty, which does a lot to bolster consumer confidence in their chosen brand and repurchase it in the future,”

Chevrolet and General Motors have already offered a considerable amount of incentives for its customers, American frontline health workers, and even those affected by the disease. Around the month of May, General Motors transformed its Warren, MI, establishment to create needful surgical-grade face masks for healthcare workers.

For Chevrolet’s customers, the company offered the “Shop. Click. Drive.” program as a means to purchase a new vehicle online and have it delivered to their residence. Additionally, special payment plans and other financing services were offered, especially to those who either fell ill to the virus or were experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic.

Chevrolet Has Electric Camaro Waiting In the Wings

EV Miami Lakes Automall

General Motors has given fans hints and an image that suggests the Chevrolet Camaro is about to have an electric version available soon. General Motors (GM) has shown the world a coupe-shaped silhouette that allows viewers to imagine what the upcoming Camaro will truly look like, but the image, pictured above, has many wondering if this is the electric incarnation. Along with this photograph, GM also showcased 11 new all-electric vehicles in a short-form video posted on various social media outlets including Twitter and Facebook. GM kicked off their first-ever “EV Day” this March and has promised a grand total of at least 20 new all-electric vehicles by 2023.

General Motor Are Stacked With Electric Plans

Last November, GM and Chevrolet showed off a prototype named the “E-10” that is powered by their eCrate electric driving system. This driving system might become part of the brand’s performance parts catalog in the near future. Another concept that debuted by Chevrolet recently was in fact another Camaro known as the Camaro eCOPO electric drag racer. This vehicle supposedly hit a 9.8-second quarter-mile time. The eCOPO Camaro concept also had an amazing engine that is rumored to be a 700 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque powertrain; quite powerful. Chevy has been secretive with their electric plans and we’re not sure why. The automotive world is ready to see more electric options, particularly with vehicles that are beloved like the Camaro.

Mum Is the Word (For Now)

The actual word by Chevrolet regarding the electric Camaro is just a report for now. There has not been any actual electric vehicle announced specifically for the Camaro, but we expect this will change soon. The hint is real and not fabricated. General Motors is planning a rear-wheel-drive architecture that is set to debut in production vehicles starting later this decade in 2025. We’re awaiting the debut of more electric vehicles to come in 2020, but few are more exciting to think of than the Chevrolet Camaro EV. Recently, an updated Chevrolet Bolt EV has gotten some love, but we hope to see more options get the star treatment from Chevy. For those looking for the latest Chevrolet products, come to Miami Lakes Automall today.

Chevrolet Leads the Way In Safety Features For Teens

Chevy Miami Lakes Automall

Chevrolet is taking a strong stance on a group notorious for poor driving habits, bad judgment and a lack of experience: teenage drivers. Among the biggest reasons teen drivers are a threat on the road to themselves and others isn’t speeding as much as it is driving without a seatbelt. Chevrolet has stepped in with a new way to curb this problem. In fact, they have found the perfect solution that won’t just curve this problem, but enhance safety features in a way never before done by the brand. Other automotive companies should take notice, as Chevrolet introduces a feature that will not allow drivers to move unless their seatbelt is clicked-in.

More on Chevrolet’s Latest Safety Measure

Chevrolet’s latest program that has launched is known as “Buckle To Drive”, which is accurately named. This is going to be a standard feature for the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse, Colorado and Malibu vehicles. The way it works is basically, teen drivers will have to adhere to the rule set up by the owner of the vehicle. Parents can easily set up the key fob to a “teen driver” setting that will ensure the only way the vehicle can move from park is by having the seatbelt clicked in. Even better, all the fun options that come with driving, like the sound system and radio will not work unless the seatbelt is fastened in.

Improving On a Good Idea

Chevrolet has had multiple programs and features in previous years that have aimed at making drivers safer on the road. In 2016, Chevy launched a new program called Teen Driver with the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu that would monitor a driver’s behavior and rewarded the driver with incentives. The program included a feature that would silence the radio as well as automatically set off all safety measures including Traction Control, Forward Collision Braking, Stability Control, and Front Pedestrian Braking. This great system was set up using a configurable PIN code and parents could even set how high the volume would be allowed to go with a limit. The best feature? Alerts could be set off if the teen driver hit a certain speed limit. The speed range could be set as low as 40 mph. The over-speed warning system would set off a ping that would go to the owner and registers the infraction. That program was found to help drivers put on their seatbelt at a 17 percent more effective rate than without it, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Chevrolet Is Committed to Improving Standard Safety Features

We commend Chevrolet for raising the stakes even further with this new program that will effectively ensure drivers, no matter what age, can be forced into using their seatbelt. Raising the level of safety will go a long way to ensuring better safety on the road, something we can all appreciate. The newest Chevy vehicles coming out in the next decade will continue to impress and provide amazing results.

“We have been researching this system for quite some time. So, we found this feature that works, and a group of people who could really benefit from it,” said Tricia Morrow, a safety strategy engineer at Chevrolet’s parent company General Motors.
