A long and storied history between automotive rivals Ford and Chevrolet dates back decades ago as these two brands have pioneered the way for other muscle cars to end up on the roads. The Ford Mustang and Camaro both debuted in the mid-1960s, forever changing the automotive landscape. These pony cars are still cherished today among buyers around the world. As muscle cars have become more intelligent and in demand than ever before. What does the landscape look like in 2020 between these two well-known and respected cars?

2020 Camaro Offers High-Level Perks

The new 2020 Chevy Camaro has gone through transformations that have pushed forward new innovation since 1966. The current sixth-generation Camaro provides owners with a slew of new features new to the 2020 model. Some of the upgrades include wireless charging pad for smartphones, a teen driver setting to restrict functions of the vehicle when a teen is driving, plus an available rear camera mirror as well. The perks of the Camaro extends to managing the performance of the vehicle with Chevrolet’s Performance Data Recorder that is available, along with modern perks like 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities. While some muscle cars have gotten smaller in the past decade or so, the Camaro went from a compact car from the 1960s to 2002 to a mid-size car beginning in 2010.

The Ford Mustang now offers an 8-inch screen and offers a voice-controlled navigation setup similar to the one found in the Chevrolet Camaro. Customers can choose to add features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection in either vehicle for an additional cost. The difference between these vehicles comes with elements under the hood.

What Are the Powertrain Differences?

The base 2020 Ford Mustang includes a turbocharged, 2.3-Liter four-cylinder engine that makes 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Currently, owners will not be able to have a Mustang with all-wheel-drive. Mustang owners get a jump from the four-cylinder powertrain up to the V8 with no V6 option. The V8 engine found in the Mustang

gets 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, but there is no chance of an automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the base Camaro models come with a turbocharged, 2.0-Liter four-cylinder engine that supplies 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission come standard, while an eight-speed automatic is offered at an extra cost. There is a 3.6-Liter V6 with 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque engine available, as the Camaro is standard with a six-speed stick, but it can be added with an optional 10-speed automatic transmission. Chevrolet provides more options than Ford.

The Camaro SS trim supplies the very powerful direct-injected 6.2-Liter V8 engine that hits 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft. of torque, fast enough to go from 0 to 60 mph in just a mere 4.1-seconds. The Z1L trim gets a supercharged version of the 6.2-Liter V8 powertrain that provides an owner with 650 horsepower and a whopping 650 lb-ft of torque. Both V8-powered models come with a six-speed manual transmission, with a 10-speed automatic transmission at an extra cost. Both vehicles supply the same estimated fuel ratings of 25 mpg combined city and highway rating. In the various measures of vehicle strength, as well as technology, the Chevrolet Camaro has proven itself against the rival Ford Mustang.

Which Vehicle Is More Expensive?

The difference between the two must be cost? Even with all the perk afforded to the Camaro, there is yet another check in the box for the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro. Buyers can be happy knowing the starting price is at $25,000 MSRP for a Camaro is a whole $1,670 less than the starting price of the 2020 Ford Mustang. Mustang? Over the Chevrolet Camaro? Chevrolet is betting drivers of the Ford Mustang will prefer driving the latest Camaro, the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro. General Motors (GM) believes that so much they have a new deal in place to get new Camaro owners. Mustang owners, this is the prime opportunity to experience the sleek-looking new Camaro. Currently, through September 3rd, 2019, owners of a Ford Mustang, can get an extra $2,500 off when purchasing a Chevrolet Camaro. All buyers are also eligible for $500 in customer cash. What else can customers expect with the upcoming 2020 Camaro? Let’s get into the new details.

Reasons For the Sale

Chevrolet has already sold more than 25,000 units of the 2019 Camaro through two quarters of 2019, which is a 3% drop from this same time last year. Thus, this was a smart incentive by Chevy to add more sales and steer buyers away from the competition. This incentive program works for any owner of any Mustang to gain a massive opportunity. Chevrolet is fairing better than Ford whose numbers show a 9.2 percent reduction from last year. One reason this may be the case? The products are not as spectacular; with the Camaro being the exception.

Changes to the Camaro

The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro will have a new look for the SS trim and differs from those who did not like the refresh of the 2019 model. The largest difference can be found in the grille with a nice body-color crossbar and the bowtie decal is higher in the upper section. While the 2019 Camaro had a contrasting black piece in the center and the logo in the middle. This was a welcomed difference for Chevy fans that have closely paid attention to the Camaro. They will also notice the 2020 Camaro will cost less for the base trim at $34,995 MSRP (plus destination fee) for the LT1. The LT1 comes with the 3.6-Liter V6 that now has the upgraded 10-speed automatic transmission. Owners can choose from a coupe or convertible and new color options including Rally Green as well as new wheel designs.

“Customers spoke, and we listened. The overwhelmingly positive reaction to the Shock’s stylized design helped prompt its transition from concept to production,” said Steve Majoros, Director of Chevrolet Passenger Car and Crossover Marketing.

The Best Pony Car on the Market Is A Chevy

Many muscle cars are well-known and respected, but few are the Chevrolet Camaro. The latest Camaro is considered one of the last great pony cars available. The Camaro was made famous with superior driving dynamics that have shaped the Camaro over the years. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. For generations, the Camaro served as the premiere fast-car of the Chevrolet brand, but word has leaked that Chevy will be discontinuing the vehicle in 2023. The nearly 55 years of the Camaro will leave behind a lasting legacy. The Chevrolet Camaro faced a difficult time selling vehicles back in 2002 and was close to being shelved then. The Chevrolet Corvette has taken the top spot among the premiere, fast Chevy vehicle.

Step Into the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro

The latest Chevy models have various trims, including the 277 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder base model Camaro 1LS up to the remarkable 650-horsepower Camaro Z1 trim. The high-end Camaro gives drivers the strength of the 6.2-Liter supercharged V8 DI engine that supplies 650 lb-ft of torque to go with all that remarkable horsepower. The latest Chevrolet Camaro also has heated and ventilated seating, the high-end Bose premium audio system and a steering wheel made with suede microfiber material. Stepping into the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro, buyers will notice how well-made this vehicle is, inside and out.

Will the Camaro Nameplate Be Retired?

General Motors has confirmed they did not make a decision yet. Time will tell, but the Camaro has seen sales slide in more recent years. This is despite Chevrolet and General Motors placing a lot of effort to make the latest Camaro vehicles the best pony cars on the market today. The Ford Mustang is also seeing low numbers, so it is not just General Motors and Chevrolet that is experiencing lower sales for their flagship cars. However, the truth remains that Chevy has not listed the Camaro as a vehicle that will be updated or given a new generation past 2023, as currently listed.

“While we will not engage in speculation, we will remind you of our recently announced updates coming to the Camaro lineup this fall. An all-new LT1 model will provide customers V8 power with the design and affordability of our LT trim. The award-winning SS model will feature a new front fascia from the Camaro Shock concept. All of our updates are customer-driven to improve the car and its driving experience.” According to General Motors.

New Changes To Chevrolet Vehicles Including Camaro and Cruze

The Chevrolet Camaro has long been a favorite amongst sport car fans for generations since debuting in 1966. While the competition has always been there with rival brands like the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet has always measured its success competing against itself. General Motors, the makers of the latest 2019 Chevrolet Camaro have taken measures to switch up the grille after the initial response to the original grille was poorly received. By not measuring against other cars and listening to what the Chevrolet fan base was saying, General Motors has taken the steps in the right direction. Let’s talk about all the changes and upgrades now offered for the latest Chevrolet Camaro.

So What Changes Took Place?

Chevrolet listened to the feedback to address the grille that had a long, black plastic beam that stretched across the grille with the Chevy bowtie emblem right in the middle. The emblem moved from the front bumper beam to the upper section of the grille, and the grille itself was changed from the black plastic rim to match the same body color as the vehicle – left up to the owner’s choice. Supplementary changes were made like attaching some style to the carbon-fiber fuel-filler door and adding black Camaro badges. A black rear wing and a lush elongated front look warrant attention like few other vehicles on the road can match.

New Changes For 2019 Chevrolet Camaro

Chevrolet is moving the Camaro series ahead with tech upgrades and striking body color paint options; Satin Steel Gray, Shadow Gray Metallic, Riverside Blue Metallic, and the most striking Shock Yellow. The Camaro Shock paint color also comes with satin black mirror caps, a spoiler, and a second-generation ground effect kits with 20-inch 5-split spoke satin black wheels. Piercing new LED headlamps and the taller, newly sculpted hoods provide that shocking exterior appearance. The interior has a modern approach to the infotainment system with a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen and available 8.0-inch touchscreen, a refined cockpit with seat bolsters that include available RECARO seats, heated and ventilated front seats, and a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel.

Chevrolet Cruze To Receive Updates?

Ahead of the Brazilian debut at the 2018 Sao Paulo International Motor Show, a brand new Chevrolet Cruze SS concept was introduced, known as the Sport6 in Brazil. With a 1.4-Liter Turbo I4 Ecotec LE2 engine that nets drivers 300 horsepower, the Cruze SS concept also has a unique set of 20-inch wheels and 235-section rubber tires that provide the gift of fantastic traction and a performance-optimized suspension. The Cruze SS concept was also the benefactor to new front bucket seats, a new steering wheel, and new driver pedals. This concept, as well as the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro, will make their public debut in November at Sao Paulo’s International Motor Show. We can’t wait, and for those that can’t wait either, the Chevrolet dealership that has the latest Chevy vehicles is ready for you at Miami Lakes Automall.

There’s a new sheriff in town and it’s the “Shock Yellow” colored 2019 Chevrolet Camaro. The latest Camaro is a stunning vehicle, not just by the new paint color, but for many reasons. As far as the refreshed Chevrolet Camaro goes, owners will be hard-pressed to find a better example of a modern sports car that offers the same combination of versatility and style as a Camaro. New accessories will be offered for the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro for others to enjoy, starting with the Recaro seats, Brembo six-piston front brake kit, new cold-air intake kits and a suspension upgrade from the intense 1LE Camaro models.

A Closer Look Into the New 2019 Chevrolet Camaro

An incredible piece of engineering with a redesigned front end and a fresh approach with the front boasts better outward visibility. Far from dated, Chevrolet is moving the Camaro series ahead with the stunning body color paint options, including a Satin Steel Gray, Shadow Gray Metallic, Riverside Blue Metallic and the aforementioned Shock Yellow. Chevrolet addressed feedback to remove the Chevrolet logo, the bowtie emblem, from the middle of the front bumper beam to the upper section of the grille. The grille was also previously marked with a black plastic rim that has been changed to match the same body color as the vehicle, which is up to the owner’s choice. Additional changes were made like adding some style in the carbon-fiber fuel-filler door and black Camaro badges. A black rear wing and a lush elongated front look command attention like few other vehicles deliver.

How Strong Is the Latest Camaro?

Few vehicles are as exhilarating and exciting for drivers to enjoy on a daily basis; the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro is not one of those vehicles. Offering up to 650 horsepower in the powerful 6.2-Liter supercharged V8 engine is one way to drive up excitement. Owners of the new Camaro will be thrilled to take one for a spin and embrace the refinement and power. (How does a 0-60 speed of just 3.5 seconds sound?) The other powertrain options include the trusted Pentastar 3.6-Liter V6 that gets 335 horsepower or the 455 horsepower 6.2-Liter V8 engine – how much horsepower a driver wants is up to the owner’s discretion. The base model, 1LS coupe begins at only $25,000 MSRP (plus destination fee) while the base model convertible is just $31,500 MSRP (plus destination fee) as both models carry the new turbocharged 2.0-Liter four-cylinder that offers 275 horsepower. We’d opt for the strongest engine, but that’s just us.

All trims are stunning and offer fantastic speed and power. The 10-speed automatic is optional for all V8 engines, while the eight-speed automatic transmission is available for all trims. Chevy loyalists will rejoice as this Camaro really provides each owner with a winner.

More About the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro

The interior of the Camaro includes a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen with the available 8.0-inch touchscreen option. The latest Chevrolet infotainment system is the Infotainment 3 system that provides optional navigation, a standard backup camera that has been enhanced to include a wider view with the user able to zoom and adjust the brightness levels of the view. The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro has decent gas mileage for a vehicle as high-performance as the Camaro is. Owners will gain 22 city and 31 highway mpg starting with the base model Camaro 1LS. To find out more about this incredible vehicle, which will arrive in early 2019, we hope you reach out to Miami Lakes Automall today.

For the SS and ZL1 trims, a 10-speed automatic transmission is available and pairs wonderfully on the premium engine, the other 6.2-Liter powertrain. The 6.2-Liter LT4 supercharged V8 gets 650 horsepower with 650 lb-ft of torque standard.

What Else Is New With The 2019 Chevy Camaro?

The 2019 Chevy Camaro comes in three new exterior body paint colors – Satin Steel Gray Metallic, Shadow Gray Metallic and Riverside Blue Metallic. Drivers will gain a sophisticated Driver Selector Mode with four modes available for various driving conditions. Snow/Ice, Tour, Sport, and Track (SS and ZL1 trims only) are the several modes. Depending on the weather, the driver can easily switch their driving mode to adapt to the surroundings outside.

The interior has switched up from the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment systems to the latest Chevy infotainment system, the third-generation Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. The rear view camera is standard for only the 2SS and ZL1 and only available for those trims.

For those looking for a new 2019 Chevrolet Camaro, the base trim 1LS Coupe begins at just $25,000 MSRP (plus destination fee) and comes stock with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine provides 275 horsepower with 295 lb-ft of torque.
