Chevrolet is rolling out some new Camaro muscle cars that are going to take over the scene. After over 54 years of producing the popular Camaro, we have learned some news about the next version of Chevrolet’s American muscle car. General Motors has continued its rivalry with the Ford Mustang that goes on to this day. The first Camaro that debuted in 1966 sold 285,748 vehicles and the love for customers enjoying a ride in a muscle car continues despite the growth of crossovers and SUVs. Chevrolet has added two new body colors for the 2021 model year with the Wild Cherry tint coat and the Red Hot color, a part of the Garnet Red option. These are appearance packages that carry a deep red hue and will cost an additional $495 for owners.

More On the New Camaro Appearance Package

The specific color code is GSK and the touch-up paint code is WA-252F. These colors will join Jet Black, Medium Ash Gray, Kalahari, Adrenaline Red, Ceramic White, and Jet Black w/ Red Accents. There are certain color options that will not pair together as the Wild Cherry color can not be paired with blue convertible tops. The 2021 model year is being produced at the General Motors Lansing Grand River plant. The assembling and shipping for the Camaro have begun after the COVID-19 outbreak slowed production down. But Chevrolet has started to move out its products including the 2020 Corvette along with the Camaro.  In fact, sales have increased for the Camaro recently.

The Chevrolet Camaro Is Only Going Up!

Not long ago the Chevrolet brand added a new Z/28 to the Camaro trim list. The latest redesign for the Camaro is expected to come within the next couple of years. The goal of GM and its companies like Chevy is to focus on EVs and new electric vehicle batteries. GM is trying to work on lowering the price for the Camaro to generate more sales for the final quarter. The “Caliente” wheels that come in a two-tone grey-and-silver finish are 20 inches in diameter are going to be $295 less. Keep in mind that the Chevrolet Camaro has seen an increase in sales just last month. The Camaro rose 8 percent in September 2020 and we expect the Camaro to grow in sales over the holidays. Chevrolet Earns Three Nominations For the 2021 North American Utility of the Year Award

The 2021 North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) Awards have announced the 27 semifinalists including the massively popular 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer, the revamped Chevrolet Tahoe, and the iconic Chevrolet Suburban. These are just three of the choices among the 27, but all can earn the Utility of the Year award. The awards first began in 1994 and represents a way for automotive manufacturers to celebrate the most popular vehicles each year. The criteria to win requires offering a standout performance in innovation, design, safety, performance driver satisfaction, value, and technology. Last year, Chevrolet was awarded the Car of the Year award for the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The Chevrolet brand has also won for the 2018 Chevrolet Bolt for Car of the Year as well. This year’s show has been pushed back, however, but the details have been revealed as to when it will go on, roughly a year from now.

2021 NAIAS Show Moved Back

A jury of 50 independent journalists has lowered the finalists count and each vehicle will be fully vetted in the coming months ahead. The announcement of the winners will take place at the 2021 North American International Auto Show that has been pushed back till September 28th through October 9th, 2021. The event will take place in Detroit, Michigan. This is not the only auto show event that has been pushed back due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Los Angeles Auto Show has been pushed back to May 2021 and the New York International Auto Show has moved to April 2021. This means there will be a massive 33-month gap between the last auto show that was held back in January 2019. The NAIAS will continue at the TCF Center for the next three years and keep its later date.

Changing of the Guard

The landscape of the automotive industry has changed in favor of SUV growth. According to IHS Markit, a company that offers critical research and information for various companies, the growth of SUVs accounts for 47.4% of U.S. sales last year. While that number was quite high in 2019, the figure could be even higher in 2020. Sedans saw a fall down to as low as 22%, unfortunately for customers who embrace driving a car. The 2021 NACTOY award nominees for the sedans this year only include some of the sleekest and stylish car options.

“The breadth of choices in the SUV category from style to powertrain is really impressive,” said NACTOY Secretary Gary Vasilash, an industry veteran who is editor-in-chief of AutoBeat.

Look Out For More Innovation

Of course, Chevrolet is looking forward to improving its own lineup of SUVs. The crop of the newest Chevrolet SUV lineup carries the newest infotainment and safety technology that helped earned this nomination. Chevy is wise to invest more high-tech and push ahead to new EV technology. The state of California has announced the prohibition of any new, gas-powered cars in just over 14 years from now. By 2035, the landscape of vehicles will look quite different. Drivers looking for a smart pick to drive will take a closer look at the current new Chevrolet inventory here at Miami Lakes Automall.

There aren’t enough good new stories that have come out in 2020, but one recent story has shined some light on an impressive feat. Chevrolet has just produced its 1.75 millionth Corvette. The Corvette is now in its eighth-generation and the 1.75th millionth Corvette was raffled off by the National Corvette Museum. The perks of the 2020 Corvette can not be understated, the 2020 Corvette C8 is the first mid-engine Corvette and it was built to impress any buyer. This is why the raffle was a huge success for Corvette and the winner has just been announced.

The 1.75th Millionth Corvette Has Been Raffled

The raffle drew hundreds of hopefuls that wanted to win the prize. On September 4th, 2020, the winner, Don Creekmore from Wichita, Kansas took home the top prize. The drawing was streamed on social media. Don received a 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Coupe that was finished in Arctic White paint with an Adrenaline Red interior and had never been driven before. The widely-popular Z51 Performance Package was included with its 3LT trim that offers the most Chevrolet has built for the Corvette. The color scheme of the Corvette is a throwback to the one-millionth Corvette that was produced in 1992. The 1.5 millionth Corvette was produced during the 2009 model year. The first Chevrolet Corvette ever made was created with a Polo White exterior and red interior.

Anyone Else Ready To Win a Corvette?

As far as the future holds, the Chevrolet brand will see more raffles ahead taken care of by the National Corvette Museum. The Build Your Own 2021 Corvette Coupe will have a raffle slated for September 24th, 2020. The tickets are priced at $250 a pop, but another raffle is coming next month on October 15th, 2020 that will only cost $100 for a raffle ticket. The October raffle will be for a 2021 Corvette Coupe model as well with a Silver Flare finish. The National Corvette Museum is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Just across the street is the GM Bowling Green production facility that is the sole producer of the Chevrolet Corvette since 1981.

Over 1,000 employees work at the production plant. The Cadillac XLR used to be made there as well, but now the sole focus is towards the Corvette. More lucky winners will be announced before the year is up to bring some delight and joy. To bring some excitement and joy into 2020, stop by Miami Lakes Automall to check our new Corvette collection.

Chevrolet Will Build Its Own Off-Road Champion Pickup By 2022

Friday, September 4th, 2020
ZR2 Miami Lakes Automall

ZR2 Miami Lakes Automall

We have learned the Chevrolet brand is going to build its own off-road champion. The Chevy brand might be the last to the table for customers when offering a vehicle that rivals the Ford F-150 Raptor or the Ram Rebel TRX, but in a matter of time, customers will only care about which vehicle provides the most excitement for their money. The Chevrolet brand is going to ensure customers are fully satisfied with its pickup lineup. Allow us to inform and drive some interest in what to expect with the newest reports about what the Chevrolet brain trust has in store for customers.

No One Builds High-Level Engineering Like Chevrolet

The Silverado light and heavy-duty variety are only missing one vehicle compared to other brands, but not for long. The introduction of the Silverado ZR2 will be a welcomed sight. We first saw a glimpse of what the Silverado ZR2 could look like when a Silverado race truck was shown off last year at the SEMA show in 2019. With many shoppers clamoring for a vehicle that pushes the boundaries of speed and power in a pickup, Chevrolet is looking for a vehicle that provides that in spades. The new rumors and reports leaking about this vehicle have us wondering what the final product will look like, but so far a lot has come out about what might happen between now and 2022.

What the Reports Say About the Silverado ZR2

The folks at Muscle Cars and Trucks have unnamed sources, but have revealed the plans that are launched for Chevrolet include a new ZR2 version of the Chevrolet Silverado is a plan that is underway. The performance of the off-road truck segment is most important and General Motors is going to ensure they offer buyers a vehicle unlike any of the products that competitors present. To build this vehicle, Chevrolet and General Motors are likely to keep everything underwraps for now. The focus will be less on the engine and horsepower, which is rumored to be kept with its existing 6.2-Liter naturally-aspirated L87 V8 engine. This is the powertrain that offers 420 horsepower, so it will not lack sufficient power or strength for owners.

Upgrades and Expected Launch Date

The enhancements will be added to protecting the engine and vehicle as a whole for off-road travel. The addition of skid plates and off-road tires are expected, but the “next evolution of the DSSV off-road damper” is something to look forward to. The Silverado ZR2 is going to arrive by 2022, according to the report. This would mean the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 will be part of the 2023 model year. This is going to be a pickup that is like the larger version of the Chevrolet Colorado. Early mentions regarding the price for the pickup to be kept somewhat lower than $60,000 MSRP; far less expensive than the Ram Rebel TRX. Looking for new options from Chevy? General Motors Offers Customers All-New 350 Small Block Crate

General Motors has made new plans to offer customers a new 350 cubic-inch small-block V8 crate powertrain. Any owner that is looking to add more power and strength to replace an engine can opt for this new crate. GM has this crate box to serve as an option for trucks, vans, and SUVs built from 1987 to 2002. Updated with CNC machining, renewed part designs, and a warranty, it’s set to be the go-to replacement for owners searching for a new engine and years of service ahead. While General Motors and Chevrolet are planning on expanding their EV lineup, they have this 350 small block option for those who want to keep older vehicles running.

More On the 350 Small Block Engine

General Motors has built the 350 small block before, going back multiple years and generations of different vehicles. The engine was produced originally back in 1967 for the Chevy Camaro. The 350 small block would end up becoming an engine option across the entire Chevy lineup.  The engine would eventually become updated and modernized. The Chevrolet’s current crate engines actually still take after the 350 small block as a base engine. Since 2005, GM has produced and sold over a quarter-million 350 crate engine to various companies and buyers. The design is over 40 years old today, but if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. This is the testament to the strength of GM’s engineering.

Gain the Power of the 350 Crate Sooner Than You Think

Concerning the crate offered today, it is an updated design that is entirely brand-new; the powertrain is not remanufactured or refurbished in any way. CNC machined block castings and cylinder heads, as well as forged steel crankshafts, new valve covers, new oil pans, and new timing covers. Customers have the choice of three trims available that will work across various GM vehicles including a standard Gen 1 for trucks, vans, and SUVs built from 1987 to 1995, a Gen 1e LD for light-duty trucks from 1996 to 2002, and a Gen 1e HD for heavy-duty trucks from 1996 to 2002. Keep in mind, every new 350 block crate will come with a standard 3-year/100,000-mile warranty; whichever comes first. GM hasn’t announced the pricing, but has revealed the engines are available to order through dealerships starting in August 2020.

General Motors and Chevrolet’s EV Plans Continue To Grow

Chevrolet has given serious thought to gain an advantage on the competition in the electric vehicle market. Electric Vehicles (EV) are the way of the future and the parent company of Chevrolet, General Motors, has come out and revealed some of their plans. The goal for GM is to offer 20 EVs by 2023. Included in those 20 vehicles will be some impressive Chevrolet vehicles. General Motors is putting a great deal of focus into a new modular EV architecture known as Ultium. While the details are limited currently, we have done the research about where Chevrolet is going to take its electric vehicle capabilities in this decade.

A New Platform Will Advance the Appeal of EVs

The brand new platform GM is creating will allow GM electric vehicles to provide a remarkable 400-mile driving range and fast 0-60 speeds. Not just fast speeds, mind-blowingly fast speeds including a 0-60 time of just under three seconds. Front-wheel-drive, real-wheel-drive, and all-wheel drive options are also expected to be available within this new platform. This move will definitely work to excite buyers and drive interest in EVs. For a long time, EVs had a stigma of being slow and an owner wouldn’t see any returns on their investments unless they kept their EV for around a decade; that won’t be the case any longer.

Chevrolet’s EV Plans Going Forward

Chevrolet is going to be putting into action this platform with a new Chevrolet pickup with a range of more than 400 miles expected to accompany the EV pickup. Of course, Chevy was the brand that first launched GM’s debut EV. Updates are coming to the Chevy Bolt with the idea of the Bolt becoming a new SUV. This is an exciting idea for Chevrolet and along with that, there will be another mid-size SUV that will gain the EV treatment as well. All of these vehicles might use the new Ultium platform. The Ultium platform will also offer a remarkable battery life for drivers to enjoy. Everything is tied to the hopes the American car buyer will join the growing industry of EVs.

“Our team accepted the challenge to transform product development at GM and position our company for an all-electric future. What we have done is build a multi-brand, multi-segment EV strategy with economies of scale that rival our full-size truck business with much less complexity and even more flexibility,” said Mary Barra, GM chairman and CEO.

2020 Corvette Is Officially A Classic In Less Than A Year

Friday, May 15th, 2020

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette has transformed into an instant classic seemingly overnight. It has become an exclusive sports car with only 2,700 vehicles built so far due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This has allowed the brand new Corvette to undergo a true transformation. The prestige of the eighth-generation Corvette has grown because production will not resume for an unknown set of time. A resolved strike with the United Auto Workers (UAW) came just before Coronavirus would again slow down the rate the “C8” would be made. As a result, the slowdown for the production has helped make the 2020 Corvette that much more exclusive.

Good News For Chevrolet Fantastics

Despite the slowdown of production, the good news is that there will be a continued run for the 2020 Corvette (eventually) set to add a much larger set of availability. The bad news is that we don’t know when, but we currently have some Chevrolet Corvette models and ready to go for those who want to drive the Corvette. Keep in mind that to start 2020, Chevrolet was able to begin building the new Corvette in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Production began on February 3, 2020. The mid-engined Corvette finally began rolling off the assembly line, customers began taking delivery, but its launch derailed again when General Motors started to shut down its North American factories to curb the spread of the Coronavirus. Bowling Green built its final Corvette on March 20, according to Consumer Guide.

Where the 2020 Corvette Left Off

The place where the Corvette models are made is located in Bowling Green. Corvette Assembly plant manager revealed in an interview that exactly just 2,700 examples of the 2020 Corvette were built between February 3 and March 20, 2020. A spokesperson for Chevrolet told Autoblog that GM “will continue to build 2020 Corvette Stingrays when the plant resumes production.” So the total number of 2020 Corvettes is likely to increase, but we don’t imagine the increase of the production will grow exponentially. And that means the 2020 will become one of the rarest regular-production models in Corvette’s history.

Corvette Sales At the Start of Each Decade

With less than 3,000 models moved, let’s remind customers how many Corvette models are sold. Chevrolet sold 10,261 units of the Corvette way back for the 1960 model year, 17,316 for the 1970 model year, and a whopping 40,614 in the 1980 model year. Sales for the 1990, 2000, and 2010 model years moved 23,464, 33,682, and 12,194, respectively. And, 34,822 seventh-generation cars were made during the 2019 model year, with 2,953 ZR1 models powered by a 755-horsepower V8 engine were sold. General Motors has stopped taking orders for the 2020 model. General Motors previously announced the production of the 2021 Corvette will start on September 1st, 2020.

“Further information will be forthcoming from Chevrolet regarding the handling of sold 2020 model year [cars] that we will be unable to accept, and the creation of a replacement 2021 model year sold order,” the company told its dealers. This suggests customers waiting for a 2020 Corvette may end up with a 2021 model instead.

New 2021 Corvette C8 Rumors A Full-Go

Friday, April 10th, 2020
Chevy-Miami-Lakes-Automall

Chevy-Miami-Lakes-Automall

The newest details are coming out about the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette C8. A General Motors document was leaked containing information that shows a list of items. The expected changes for the second model year of the eighth-generation Corvette, named the C8, include some surprises. Among the new changes, Magnetic Selective Ride Control is set to become a standalone option for drivers. A delayed production start during the initial model year for the first-ever mid-engine Corvette also saw a slowdown no thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic. General Motors had to cease all production at its Bowling Green factory just when demand had reached its highest point. As of now, buyers can no longer order a 2020MY Corvette, so the focus has now shifted to orders for the 2021 Corvette C8.

Good News For Those Who Held Out

From the looks of the leaked document, the 2021 Corvette will have some key additions to help drive sales. The information is sourced from the Global Connect Order WorkBench, a software that dealerships often rely on to collect orders for new vehicles. Customers will have the choice of two new body color options including Red Mist Tintcoat and Silver Flare. Both of which, according to Corvette Blogger, shall be in place of Long Beach Red and Blade Silver. It’s a bit unusual to see such a change after just one model year, but it appears Chevy is open to update the available color options to meet demand. A noticeable carbon fiber finish for the high-wing and the door intake trim will be ready for the 2021 Corvette C8, as well as a slew of body stripes that can be selected to match a wide array of colors. For now, the visible carbon fiber ground effects are not available for customers to select for now. The addition of the Magnetic Selective Ride Control as a standalone option means customers no longer have to opt for the Z51 package.

Interior Changes Come As Well

There are some modest adjustments that will be found on the inside as well. Fantastic options like wireless Apple CarPlay are set to become standard across the entire line-up.  The 3LT will be available with a couple of new seat combinations for customers to choose from. New all-weather floor liners are also included, as well as a car cover depicting the C8.R race car. Another listing is the “Stingray R”, but the details to that are not known. Corvette Blogger has this item as a possible special-edition model with visual upgrades taken directly from the C8.R. While these are some of the minor details that will make up some of the changes, we know the timing of the 2021 Corvette C8 is set to start later in the fall of 2020.

Production Is Nearing For 2021 C8

The beginning of assembly of the 2021 Corvette is scheduled to ramp up by September 2020. That’s if production isn’t slowed down by that point due to the coronavirus aftermath. We have hopes the slowdown will not hinder production of the mid-engined sports car, making it back-to-back years of a slowed roll out. There has been speculation and reports that have placed the Chevrolet Corvette sports car at a new starting price over last year’s considerably low $60,000 MSRP for the base model. Chevrolet actually loses money with the sale of the low-end C8 trims. Thinking about driving the premiere Chevrolet product?

Count On the New 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Over the 2020 Ford Mustang

Friday, April 3rd, 2020
Camaro Miami Lakes Automall

Camaro Miami Lakes Automall

A long and storied history between automotive rivals Ford and Chevrolet dates back decades ago as these two brands have pioneered the way for other muscle cars to end up on the roads. The Ford Mustang and Camaro both debuted in the mid-1960s, forever changing the automotive landscape. These pony cars are still cherished today among buyers around the world. As muscle cars have become more intelligent and in demand than ever before. What does the landscape look like in 2020 between these two well-known and respected cars?

2020 Camaro Offers High-Level Perks

The new 2020 Chevy Camaro has gone through transformations that have pushed forward new innovation since 1966. The current sixth-generation Camaro provides owners with a slew of new features new to the 2020 model. Some of the upgrades include wireless charging pad for smartphones, a teen driver setting to restrict functions of the vehicle when a teen is driving, plus an available rear camera mirror as well. The perks of the Camaro extends to managing the performance of the vehicle with Chevrolet’s Performance Data Recorder that is available, along with modern perks like 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities. While some muscle cars have gotten smaller in the past decade or so, the Camaro went from a compact car from the 1960s to 2002 to a mid-size car beginning in 2010.

The Ford Mustang now offers an 8-inch screen and offers a voice-controlled navigation setup similar to the one found in the Chevrolet Camaro. Customers can choose to add features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection in either vehicle for an additional cost. The difference between these vehicles comes with elements under the hood.

What Are the Powertrain Differences?

The base 2020 Ford Mustang includes a turbocharged, 2.3-Liter four-cylinder engine that makes 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Currently, owners will not be able to have a Mustang with all-wheel-drive. Mustang owners get a jump from the four-cylinder powertrain up to the V8 with no V6 option. The V8 engine found in the Mustang

gets 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, but there is no chance of an automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the base Camaro models come with a turbocharged, 2.0-Liter four-cylinder engine that supplies 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission come standard, while an eight-speed automatic is offered at an extra cost. There is a 3.6-Liter V6 with 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque engine available, as the Camaro is standard with a six-speed stick, but it can be added with an optional 10-speed automatic transmission. Chevrolet provides more options than Ford.

The Camaro SS trim supplies the very powerful direct-injected 6.2-Liter V8 engine that hits 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft. of torque, fast enough to go from 0 to 60 mph in just a mere 4.1-seconds. The Z1L trim gets a supercharged version of the 6.2-Liter V8 powertrain that provides an owner with 650 horsepower and a whopping 650 lb-ft of torque. Both V8-powered models come with a six-speed manual transmission, with a 10-speed automatic transmission at an extra cost. Both vehicles supply the same estimated fuel ratings of 25 mpg combined city and highway rating. In the various measures of vehicle strength, as well as technology, the Chevrolet Camaro has proven itself against the rival Ford Mustang.

Which Vehicle Is More Expensive?

The difference between the two must be cost? Even with all the perk afforded to the Camaro, there is yet another check in the box for the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro. Buyers can be happy knowing the starting price is at $25,000 MSRP for a Camaro is a whole $1,670 less than the starting price of the 2020 Ford Mustang. Chevrolet has announced a new special edition, simply known as the Special Edition for the 2020 Spark. The subcompact car was topped in 2019 by the Chevrolet Spark, ahead of the competition and looks to continue its reign at the top spot for 2020. Over 31,000 Spark vehicles were sold last year and Chevy has added 15-inch black-painted, machine-finished wheels, black DRL bezels, a black grille with matching black bowtie badges and looks fantastic. Under the hood, a 1.4-Liter four-cylinder with 98 horsepower and 94 lb-ft of torque with front-wheel-drive. Let’s get into the new special edition and upcoming 2021 model year due out later in 2020.

More On the 2020 Chevrolet Spark

The Spark was updated with the 2019 model year to include a more eloquent and chrome-laden front and added dual-element taillamps. Owners can opt for the Driver Confidence Package that is available for the 2LT trim and adds collision alert, automatic emergency braking, as well as lane departure warning and adds low speed forward automatic braking. Safety improvements weren’t the only added feature, with updates to include new interior and exterior color options and new wheel designs. The latest Chevrolet infotainment comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities as well as two USB ports. Drivers can opt for the color in black with a white roof or blue with a white roof. The Special Edition is a neat entry for those who want the best look for the Spark. Eventually, the 2021 Chevy Spark will arrive. Early reports have come out to mention some of the changes coming out.

2021 Model Year Is Approaching

Eventually, the 2021 Chevrolet Spark will arrive, but the next-generation is not due out for at least a year or more. The changes for the 2021 model year will include the same four trims, the base L, LT, ACTIV, and the premium 2LT. More colors will be added including the new Cayenne Orange, which replaces the Orange Burst and the Mystic Blue will replace the Raspberry color. The color combinations on the inside include Jet Black with Dark Anderson Silver Metallic, Caribbean Blue as well as Jet Black. The naturally-aspirated 1.4-Liter engine will have the same horsepower and torque combination for the 2021 model year as the 2020 model year. Two available transmission carries a 5-speed manual or automatic continuously variable transmission. This is the second-generation Spark and pricing and release date has not been announced yet for the 2021 model year. Thinking about driving a new Chevy?
