2022 Chevy Corvette Rated 10Best by Car and Driver

Friday, November 26th, 2021

Chevrolet’s 2022 Corvette was recently ranked among Car and Driver’s 10Best list. The luxury sports car was acknowledged for its high performance and affordability. This marks the 23rd time the Corvette has been recognized by Car and Driver, so clearly Chevrolet knows what it takes to deliver a luxury sports car. Chevrolet recently updated the 8th generation Corvette so it comes equipped with the latest driver-assist features like Magnetic Selective Ride Control and Driver Mode Selector. The luxury sports car also looks great with its narrow styling and now it comes with even more customization options than before. At an MSRP of $62,195 (plus destination fee), the 2022 Corvette is an affordable and captivating luxury sports car.

2022 Chevy Corvette Ranked Among 10Best

The 2022 Chevy Corvette is a great luxury sports car with a reasonable starting price. At a starting MSRP of $62,195 (plus destination fee), the Corvette offers consumers a grand experience. Chevrolet offers more in terms of customization and driver-assist features so drivers can get the best out of their Corvette. The 2022 Corvette comes equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.2L LT2 V8 engine that’s capable of 495 horsepower and 470lb-ft of torque. This comes with a dual-clutch automatic which can enable 60 mph in 2.8 seconds. Speed is never an issue with the Corvette and handing is precise and sharp. The new Magnetic Selective Ride Control feature also serves well in keeping control even at the highest of speeds.

Inside the 2022 Corvette, drivers will note the fighter-jet-inspired cockpit. From the base level trim to higher levels, the Corvette sees a multitiered and multicolored leather trim. The dash swirls toward the driver which gives a heightened feeling of control. The raced-designed steering wheel comes with large paddle shifters, audio controls, and a Z Mode button. Chevrolet expands customization further by allowing owners to customize the interior from seatbelts to the brake-caliper paint. The engine sits behind the driver and though it can obscure visibility at times, it doesn’t harm practicality.  In fact, it helps stabilize the Corvette as the weight is distributed with a rear bias.

Overall, the 2022 Corvette is a great choice for a luxury sports car. It comes affordable and offers the latest in technology and driver-assist features. For those looking to go fast with sharp precision, the Corvette proves a solid option.

Chevy Corvette Sees Impressive Q3 Sales, Ranks First Among Premium Sports Cars

Thursday, October 14th, 2021

The Chevy Corvette recently enjoyed impressive third quarter (Q3) sales in the United States. The luxury sports car managed to surpass its previous Q3 sales by about 60 percent. Chevrolet is certainly enjoying the increased popularity as its Corvette model ranked higher than competitors by huge margins. The automaker has been turning its focus on electric vehicles lately, a move many other automakers have seemed to attempt. Chevrolet has teased its all-new all-electric Chevy Silverado and they have also hinted at a potential new electric sedan that may or may not replace the Camaro. It’s always a positive when an automaker can capitalize on its current lineup while continuing to meet consumers’ demands and interests. Electric vehicles have become a hot topic as of late given the climate crisis, but as seen with the Corvette’s sales numbers, it seems some folks are still looking to drive high-performance sports cars.

Chevy Corvette Sees Increased Sales Overall

The Chevy Corvette saw delivery numbers totaling 10,166 units in Q3 of 2021. This was an increase of 59.97 percent compared to the 6,355 units sold in Q3 of 2020. As for the entire year, the premium sports car saw sales increase about 96 percent to 24,748, compared to 12,634 the previous year. This increase was seen mainly in the first nine months of the year. These numbers allowed the Corvette to become the best-selling model in its class. Following the Corvette was the Porsche 911, then the Porsche 718, and after that came the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT in fourth. Overall, the Corvette managed to outsell all its rivals.

Corvette sales for the year included all Corvette body styles, variants, trim levels, and packages. In each quarter of 2021, the Corvette managed to post strong numbers. During each of its quarters, the Corvette accounted for at least 51 percent of the segment share. It should be noted that many competitors in the segment cost significantly more than the Corvette (the C8 starts at a base price of $58,900 [plus destination fee]). This may explain why rival sales numbers were as low as they were. Still, the Corvette managed to solidify its status as a desirable sports car.

Given the strong sales numbers, it’s clear the Corvette C8 line has more room for growth. Higher-performance variants are still on the way. Some of these include the C8 ZO6, C8 E-Ray, C8 ZR1, and the C9 Zora. The C8 Z06 will be the first variant to launch for the 2023 Corvette model year. As these variants continue to release, it’s expected that Chevy will see even greater sales numbers for its sports car. As long as production at the GM Bowling Green plant and the GM Tonawanda Engine plant continues without pause, Chevy should continue to see its Corvette reign at the top of the sports cars sales list.

The Corvette Stingray Is Fast On The Road And The Fastest In North American Sales

Monday, March 22nd, 2021

The Corvette Wins First Place In U.S. Sales

Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, car sales, as well as a general slew of other businesses, saw a bit (or not so bitty) depression in traffic, and continued to see this slump for the remainder of the year (2020). Slowly but surely, the crisis began to somewhat stabilize, allowing for North American car sales to make a comeback. Some models, in particular, rode past the sales level a year ago. On top of this, car sales overall increased because of low-interest rates. This is thanks to the Federal Reserve, which allowed manufacturers to make offers on car loans more enticing.

Dependent on supply, these manufacturers ship these vehicles to their respective dealers and what the sellers estimate that they will be able to sell on certain models. On the end of the manufacturer, factory output can pose a challenge, while from the perspective of the dealer, it’s more of a guesstimate about what consumers in the market would go for.

Based on this dynamic, the amount of time that a car is lodged at a dealership parking lot can average about 48.9 days, with at least 60 being optimal. While there are plenty of cars that are able to catch the attention of shoppers faster than others, owing to either limitations from the factory or an overwhelming good customer demand at the dealership.

Last month, the most favored vehicle in North America was so in-demand that it became America’s fastest-selling car, and that ladies and gents is the Chevrolet Corvette. This flagship vehicle of the largest division of General Motors (GM), also being the sole two-seat sports car that hasn’t skipped a beat for over six decades (1953 to be exact). According to iSeeCars, the Chevrolet’s prized possession reaches up to 13.1 for days-on-sells.

The starting price for the Corvette is $59,000, (plus destination fee). This year’s model makes use of the “Stingray” moniker, which the company has gone back and forth with throughout the years. The convertible model of the car can reach as high as $90,000,  (plus destination fee). Moreover, the output is 495 horsepower from its 6.2-liter V8 engine, which can push from 0 to 60 mph in only 2.9 seconds.

Karl Brauer, iSeeCars Executive Analyst, weighed in on the fastest-selling cars as a whole, regarding those that don’t last long on the dealers lot: “While the fastest-selling new cars span many price points from $24,278 to $102,537, the average for these 20 vehicles is $43,829, which is well above the $36,836 average price of all new cars.”

$3 Million For A Corvette That Won’t Be Driven?

We recently witnessed the award season kick-off to start 2020 off with the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray earning the 2020 North American Car of the Year award. While the 2020 Chevrolet sports car is the very first 2020 Chevrolet Stingray has officially had its first sale to the tune of a whopping $3 million at an auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The first-ever Chevrolet Corvette to carry a mid-engine build (this means the engine is literally in the middle of the vehicle, rather than under the hood) has a base price of $55,900 MSRP (Plus destination fee), but this is the only first ever built Chevy C8 Stingray. The event hosting this sale was a Narrett-Jackson auction with every bit of the transaction going to charity.

All For A Good Cause

The Detroit Children’s Fund, a not-for-profit organization, is responsible for the earnings. The money will be distributed across public schools in Detroit. The focus of Detroit Children’s Fund is to improve the quality of education in the city where General Motors has its main headquarters and thousands of workers. The sale was completed and sold to Corvette collector Rick Hendrick. Hendrick is apart of the Corvette Hall of Fame, being inducted in 2015. Hendrick owns a total of 94 dealerships, but among all the vehicles he owns, he says he won’t ever drive this first-ever C8. The first debut of the vehicle was launched with the help of actual astronauts to unveil the vehicle. The new mid-engine design, rear-wheel-drive sports coupe is one of the most sought after vehicles to hit the market in recent memory. The auction was actually the biggest success in the 49-year history of Barrett-Jackson Auctions with $141 million produced.

“I’ve been going to those auctions for 25 to 30 years and I’ve bought a lot of No.1s at auction for charity. But nothing like this car. This had bidders from all over the world. It was so much drama. When you have the CEO of General Motors on the stage, that’s a big deal,” Hendrick told the Free Press.

More On the “C8” Corvette

The winning vehicle will carry an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic with automatic shifting. The advantages that have pushed the latest Chevrolet to another level include technology upgrades. The engineers have added new performance components that come standard for each Chevrolet Corvette that allows the vehicle to have 25 percent more oil cooling than the previous-generation Corvette. This is thanks to the new chassis design, part of the changes to a new mid-engine design. The “C8” Stingray is the start of an all-new generation of Corvette vehicles that are fastest and strongest than ever. Engineers added in the legendary 6.2-Liter V8 powertrain that delivers 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

“Corvette has always represented the pinnacle of innovation and boundary-pushing at GM. The traditional front-engine vehicle reached its limits of performance, necessitating the new layout,” said GM President Mark Reuss.

Drivers looking to have fun and start up a vehicle with real power, step into the Chevrolet Corvette. The all-new 2020 Chevy Corvette is the first mid-engine Corvette ever made and the perks of owning this sports car come from the excitement of driving one. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox helps make for a smooth transition while moving. Owners can use the launch control function to operate their 2020 Corvette like never before. Want to see some real speed and some tires burn before hitting grease-lighting speeds? Thanks to an all-new burnout mode that warms the tires before going, the launch control helps owners get the most out of their most-prized vehicle.

How to Use Launch Control

Once safety buckled up in the driver’s seat of the Corvette, place the car in “Drive” and select the track mode. With a simple double-tap on the electronic stability control button (ESC) to turn the feature off, drivers should then locate the Performance Traction Management (PTM) menu on the instrument cluster. Five choices are available for customers to choose from. The choices include Dry, Race, Sport I, Sport II, Wet. The choice should be made based on the weather and grip requirements. The best part is Launch Control is the feature works no matter which PTM mode is chosen. Press on the brake, press hard on the gas pedal at the same time and lift the brake once the reves settle at 3,500 rpm. The tires should be warmed before using this remarkable feature.

More on the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette

Currently, 12 exterior body colors are available, but styling elements exist in different packages like the Z51 package. Some carry special emblems on the brake calipers and options exist to have a different look than the standard Corvette provides. Reports have been confirmed for a debut of the first 2020 Chevrolet Corvette convertible on October 2nd, 2019. While this remarkable roof-off version of the Corvette is about to come out soon, it might be a while for them to be fully stocked at dealerships. Curious to drive a new Corvette? What To Know About the Mid-Engine 2020 Chevrolet Corvette

The summer is starting to cool off, but more heat will be turned up when the all-new new mid-engine Corvette arrives. This Corvette is the first mid-engined supercar Chevy has ever made. While some customers have grown a fondness towards hearing the sound of the engine coming from the hood, Chevrolet had other ideas for their 8th-generation Corvette. Chevrolet knows that some buyers won’t like how they are changing where the engine goes, but there’s no turning back now. Chevrolet has already made up their mind that its evolutionary design will win over new buyers. One fantastic reason why this might be certain? This all-new Corvette will be the fastest one ever made.

Chevrolet Is Winning Over New and Previous Customers Alike

Changes have already been made to direct the upcoming 2020 Chevrolet Corvette away from traditional aspects, and designs like having chrome wheels. Chrome wheels have been a long-running favorite amongst the conventional Corvette fans, but Chevrolet had to revamp their brand. With a new decade approaching and sales that weren’t as glorious as they once were, Chevrolet is making moves. Consider the positives that will come with this bold take on reinventing their prized Corvette sports car. For those Chevy fans that prefer the front-engined Corvette, keep in mind, Chevrolet has lowered the cost of the previous-generation, the C7 Corvette. That might win back some support for those who want to experience the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette. Or perhaps the C8’s 6.2-Liter V8 known as the LT2 is the reason. 495 horsepower with 570 lb-ft of torque is impressive and 40 more horsepower than the previous generation C7 Corvette. However, for those who want the previous-generation Corvette are in luck.

How the Supplier Pricing Discount Works On a C7 Purchase

We’ve learned Chevrolet is extending “Supplier Pricing For Everyone” for the Corvette C7 through September 2nd, 2019. This pricing is reserved for huge discounts on the Corvette in the amount up to $9,404 price cut. There aren’t any hopes to jump through to gain this clearance price. The only way to have more of a savings is by choosing the highest-tier Corvette in the Corvette Z06 that starts at $95,020 MSRP (plus destination fee) and allows for savings of over $9,700. However, customers can expect a fantastic discount on the C7 Corvette, no matter which trim they opt for.

Things To Remember About Discount Deal

Keep in mind, this unique offer is only allowed for customers who are purchasing their C7, not leasing.  The only other requirement to achieve these $9,000+ saving is to have owned any Chevrolet Corvette before. This is considered a loyalty discount meant to keep those with a Corvette, in a more modern Corvette. Without a previous Corvette, this deal loses $3,000 in savings for first-time Corvette owners. However, saving $6,000 or more on any vehicle is always a welcomed deal. For those who want to get the ball rolling on a new Corvette, we know the place to drive them home.

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Is So Powerful It Does What?

Thursday, March 14th, 2019

Chevrolet has an interesting dilemma on its hands. The latest details regarding the current production of the eighth-generation Chevrolet Corvette dubbed the C8, has been pushed back again. The reason for the push back? The Corvette is too powerful. Testing has revealed that the latest generation Chevrolet Corvette simply launches ahead so hard and strong that the engine is causing damage to the actual frame and glass engine cover. There’s simply too much power for the chassis given the prototypes are fitted with twin-turbo V8s that are producing upwards of nearly 1,000 horsepower. So what does Chevrolet have in mind? Let’s explore.

Producing Engines That Are Too Strong?

Imagine crafting an engine so strong it simply tears apart the surrounding area of the vehicle. That is essentially what is going on behind the scenes. This news is according to sources close to the situation and Hagerty reporting on the subject. General Motors (GM) has missed two of their deadlines already in regards to the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette release, but this shows the automaker is ensuring the product is fully ready to go. No one wants a bent frame or any issues with a vehicle because it can’t handle its g-forces.

General Motors making sure their product is safe and secure is critical, but just the specifics of the current testing are noteworthy. The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 currently has a powertrain that’s simply too powerful it leads to the structural distortion of the vehicle. Specifically, the engine compartment’s glass hatch would break during testing. The acceleration was labeled frightening so much so that GM reached out to their lawyers about any potential risks they would face for producing and selling a vehicle so powerful and fast.

Making Sure the Product Is Glitch Free As Well

Aside from the adjustments that have to be made to the body and structure of the Corvette, the report goes on to say GM is also still figuring out how to adapt its standardized, global GM electrical system. While engineers are still finalizing the new system, this all-important system will infuse more than 100 interlinked computers on its Computer Area Network (CAN) bus. The design and engineering teams have more work to do to create the Corvette in the image they want.

So, with all this said, when can we expect to see the new 2020 Corvette? Hagerty insists the National Corvette Museum’s 25th birthday in August 2019 will be a good bet. Here’s hoping all the right technology of CAN is produced in time and that the frame is made stronger; we certainly hope to see all the strength of the powertrain is kept intact. Let’s hope this summer involves some good weather and the beautiful purr of a new 2020 Corvette. For those who can’t wait till the fall to drive a new Corvette, we know one place to find the newest Chevrolet sports car today.

Chevrolet Celebrates Halloween For the Whole Family!

Monday, October 15th, 2018

Chevrolet wants to help families celebrate Halloween this year! This spooky time of year doesn’t have to be scary, but instead festive and fun. While there’s a big incentive to have our customers test out our newest collection of cars, trucks, crossovers, vans and SUVs, we know there’s no joy without taking time to spend with our children and make them feel involved. Whether a parent, counselor, guardian, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, cousin or family friend, take the time to enjoy sending a positive message to the youth with some good ol’ fashion arts and crafts.

Chevrolet themed Halloween themed pumpkin stencils are a great way to entertain kids. For every Chevy enthusiast, this is a great way to promote the beloved brand and provide some cool and fun images for the kids to enjoy. Create a sleek 2019 Chevrolet Corvette, show off the 2019 Chevrolet Spark, draw the Chevrolet Volt with bat wings and more with these 10 Halloween themed stencils.

Chevrolet Logo Soccer Ball

Chevrolet One World Futbol

Chevrolet Silverado

Chevrolet Silverado Grille

Chevrolet Truck or Treat

Chevy Camaro

Chevy Corvette Creepy Forest

Chevy Trunk or Treat

Chevrolet Spark Spider Web

Chevy Volt Vampire

Simply follow these rules after printing out the collection of stencils and craft the perfect pumpkin once the drawing is done.

  1. Cut a circle through either the stem end at the top of the pumpkin, or the bottom of the pumpkin to make a cap – we recommend the stem and at the top.
  2. Then, use a large spoon to scoop out the pumpkin’s innards – seeds and pulp.
  3. Follow the dotted lines when cutting out the stencil to have instructions handy. Tape the stencil onto the pumpkin and make sure it’s flat against the surface.
  4. First trace the design by poking holes with a sharp but small tool, like a needle. Now you can remove the stencil from the pumpkin.
  5. Just like a game of connect the dots, cut your stencil. Push out the cut-out pieces (grey pieces on the stencil) by on them from within the pumpkin. Be gentle.
  6. All that’s left is to place a candle or LED light inside the pumpkin to give it that eerie glow.

We recommend making sure to have fun and enjoy your next visit to Miami Lakes Automall. We hope you come by for a spooky good time!

Drive the “Most American Car” With These Two Chevy Vehicles

Thursday, August 23rd, 2018

The Chevrolet Corvette was rated the “Most American” car in a recent university study. This is fitting as the Corvette has long been heralded as “America’s Sports Car”. The survey was developed by the Kogod Made in America Auto Index and reported by the National Corvette Museum in a news release.

“With a top score of 83.5 points, Corvette earned bragging rights by racking up the points within seven criteria including profit margin; labor; research and development; inventory, capital and other expenses; engine; transmission; and body, chassis and electrical components,” the museum noted in reporting research by the Center for Automotive Research to determine “total domestic content.”

How the Research Was Conducted

The beginning of the survey began as far back as 2013. Frank DuBois, an associate professor of the International Business Kogod school at American University in Washington, D.C. set out to find which vehicle was the most highly regarded American vehicle. While DuBois had his mind made up that no vehicle had ever been truly American made since dating back to the original Ford Model T, “You could argue that some of those parts were mined or manufactured out of the country,” according to DuBois. Following the top spot of the Chevrolet Corvette, finishing first out of 544 vehicles, was the Chevrolet Volt. For those that had any question about which brand is the most American, just look at this report. The report came up with a numerical value attached to various components to determine which vehicle would end up being labeled “Most American”.

Criteria to Determine Outcome

Profit margin is the first measurement used in the report, and points are earned based on the location of the automaker’s headquarters. A vehicle would receive 6 points if the automaker was based out ot the United States. If not, they would receive no points. Labor was a secondary requirement and if an automaker had their products made elsewhere, they wouldn’t receive any points; if they did they would gain 6 points. Research & development for the vehicle could earn an additional 6 points if both were done in the United States. If they were developed, but not assembled or vice versa in the U.S., they would only receive 3 points instead of 6 points. Inventory, capital and other expenses amounted to 11 points if the vehicle was assembled in the United States.

The largest proponent of the research was based off where the engine was produced. If the engine was produced in the United States, the vehicle would gain 14 points and zero points if the automaker didn’t make the vehicle in the United States. The transmission amounts to 7 points and follows the same rules as the engine. Finally, the body, chassis and electrical components made up fifty percent of the total vehicle score. The AALA percentage was divided into two to derive the total score. After all was said and done, Chevy took home both top two spots.

More on the Winner and Runner-up

While the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette is beloved for all the speed and high-performance ability, the Chevy Volt has enjoyed earning the love of customers for having unmatched fuel efficiency. For those looking for a compact car that is as American as they come and provides 43 city and 42 highway MPG, look no further than the 2018 Chevy Volt. A plug-in hybrid vehicle that offers up to 53 electric emission-free miles and a total of 420 miles with a full charge and full tank of gas. A 2018 IIHS Top Safety pick award winner, the 2018 Chevy Volt is ideal for many.

Drive Chevy With Us

Of course, if speed is what drives the final choice, there’s hardly a sports car that can match the up to 755 horsepower found in the hand-assembled 6.2-Liter LT5 supercharged Corvette engine. For a chance to get a good look at either American made vehicle, there’s a place where both vehicles are available right now.

If you’ve been looking for a vehicle that has the power and high-performance you’ve always wanted, look no further than the “Most American” brand new 2019 Chevrolet Corvette. We have them in stock and are waiting for you to see for yourself. We also carry the latest 2018 Chevrolet Volt, which provides all the reliability of Chevy with high-end fuel efficiency.
