2023 Chevy Bolt EV Earns J.D. Power ALG Residual Value Award

The 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV was recently awarded J.D. Power’s 2023 ALG Residual Value Award. Operating as a data analytics and consumer intelligence company, J.D. Power conducts studies to determine the best vehicles in various segments. For its 2023 ALG Residual Value Award, the 2023 Bolt EV was among several recipients chosen for its high resale value. As an EV, the Chevy Bolt proves to be highly efficient and versatile. Its affordability also makes the all-electric hatchback a favorable choice for those just getting into the EV segment. While Chevrolet has been busy working on new EVs like the 2024 Silverado EV and the 2026 Colorado EV, its current EV lineup continues to be competitive. We’ll take a look at the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV and see why it retained its great resale value.

2023 Chevy Bolt EV Offers Great Resale Value

The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV was recently awarded the 2023 ALG Residual Value Award by J.D. Power. As a data analytics company, J.D. Power has served as a key figure in the automotive industry for its reliable consumer research. The consumer intelligence company releases annual surveys and reports that help consumers determine the best-valued vehicles. One of its recent reports was the 2023 ALG Residual Value Award. This award is determined by using an extensive process that utilizes used-vehicle performance data, brand outlook, and product competitiveness. Chevrolet was 1 of 13 brands that were considered for the award. Altogether 291 vehicles were analyzed. Of them, the Chevy Bolt EV and Chevy Silverado were selected.

The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV arrives with similar performance standards as the previous year, but Chevrolet has significantly reduced the price of the electric hatchback. Starting at an MSRP of $25,600 (plus destination fee), the 2023 Bolt EV offers impressive capability and efficiency all at an affordable cost. The hatchback features an electric motor that’s capable of 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. This motor sends power to the front wheels and provides the hatchback with quick acceleration. The Bolt EV is able to go from 0-60 mph in just 6.5 seconds. This, combined with an engaging sport mode, provides drivers with a dynamic driving experience.

In its analysis, J.D. Power included various trims across the different brands it considered. The analytics company used averages in its study that were based on percentage share compared to the entire brand lineup. This helped differentiate the differences between trims. The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV offers two different trims, the 1LT and 2LT. The 2LT offers owners a higher level of quality with more luxury features, but it does not improve overall performance or efficiency. Still, given its affordability and efficiency, the electric hatchback proves to be a reliable EV with strong resale value.

Two All-New Chevy Sports Cars Are on the Way According to GM President

Chevrolet has two all-new sports cars on the way. This news comes directly from General Motors president Mark Reuss who said that a pair of Chevy performance vehicles will arrive in 2024. Reuss previously hinted at the introduction of an all-electric Corvette in April which leads many to believe one of these new vehicles may be exactly that. The 2023 Chevy Corvette recently received some new performance upgrades so the introduction of an all-new Corvette is exciting. Especially if it arrives as an electric version with the same high performance everyone loves from the sports car. While not much information was revealed, we’ll see what Reuss said and what consumers can expect from Chevrolet.

Is There An Electric Chevy Corvette on the Way?

According to General Motors (GM) president Mark Reuss, there will be two new Chevy sports cars arriving in 2024. President Reuss had previously stated that an all-electric Corvette would be coming on the brand’s Ultium platform. Alongside an electric Corvette would be a hybrid version of the sports car. While Reuss did not disclose any definitive information about the electric and hybrid Corvette, he said that the names and performance specs would be released as they neared their debut. Fast forward to now and we still do not have much information. All we know is that two sports cars with the Chevy badge are coming as soon as 2024.

According to Reuss, one of the two sports cars will be a new version of the Corvette C8. Currently, the C8 is set to arrive with a powerful V8 engine that will allow the Corvette to exceed 200 mph. Whether this new version will be an all-electric or hybrid version we’re not sure. Speculation is that this new Corvette will carry the E-Ray moniker which was discovered in recent trademark filings. As a successor to the C8, the electric Corvette would likely feature a V8 engine with a front-mounted electric motor. It would also likely have all-wheel drive.

As for the other sports car, Reuss did not mention the name Corvette. This does not mean that the second car will be something entirely new, but rather it could be the long-rumored Zora. This potential hybrid sports car could carry also carry a V8 engine. Reuss mentioned that it would “set the standard of the world for performance for Chevrolet.” This is a bold claim so whatever it may be, it’s certain to be a high-performance vehicle. For now, we’ll be staying tuned for more information.

Which EV Pickup Is Right For You? 2024 Chevy Silverado EV Vs GMC Sierra EV

The all-new, all-electric 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is almost here. Chevrolet has been preparing for its first electric pickup, which is set to launch in early 2023. The Silverado EV will initially be offered with the WT trim, but the more powerful RST First Edition trim will arrive soon after. In friendly competition with the Silverado EV is the 2024 GMC Sierra EV which will come in early 2024. Both EV pickups represent their parent company General Motors, but since one is Chevrolet and the other is GMC, they will feature some differences. As of late, Chevrolet has been ramping up its EV production. This bodes well as a sign of confidence as the automaker believes consumers will show increased interest in its EVs. Since both the Silverado EV and Sierra EV are expected to offer high capability and efficiency, we thought we’d look at both and see what consumers can expect.

Expected Performance From Silverado EV & Sierra EV

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is expected to arrive with a dual motor setup capable of 510 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque. These will be the performance standards for the first trim released, the WT. Another trim called the RST First Edition will be available later, and it will feature a similar setup with 664 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque. The 2024 GMC Sierra EV is also expected to arrive with a dual motor setup, though the EV pickup will likely feature greater capabilities. The Sierra EV will be available in a high-end Denali Edition 1 trim and offer 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. Both electric pickups are expected to have a 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds. They will also feature unique power modes–Wide Open Watts for Chevy and Max Power Mode for GMC.

As for charging and range capabilities, the 2024 Silverado EV will feature a 24-module battery pack with 200 kWh capacity. This will provide the electric pickup with 400 miles of battery range. Owners can charge the Silverado EV at up to 350 kW, adding 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. The GMC Sierra EV will also feature 400 miles of battery range as both pickup trucks ride on the same EV platform. It will also feature similar charging capabilities to the Silverado EV.

Inside the Silverado EV & Sierra EV

While the Silverado EV and Sierra EV feature similar body styles, their overall details are distinct. The Silverado EV has smoother edges and lines and has a full-width horizontal light line. The Sierra EV is a bit more chiseled and features a large brand plate in place of its front grille. Both trucks will feature a crew cab configuration and a fixed panoramic glass roof. Inside the pickup trucks are where the critical differences lie.

Inside, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV features a cleaner dash with a more traditional layout. The Silverado offers an 11-inch driver display and a 17-inch wide touchscreen display tilted toward the driver. The 2024 GMC Sierra EV features a central 17-inch touchscreen that is vertically oriented. The pickup also has a smaller driver display. Both pickups still offer physical knobs and buttons as well. The 2024 Silverado EV will start at an MSRP of $40,000 (plus destination fee), while the 2024 Sierra EV will start at an MSRP of $108,685 (plus destination fee). Both pickup trucks will feature additional trims, but the Silverado is the more economically viable option, especially since both trucks offer similar capabilities.

The 2023 Chevy Colorado Vs The 2023 Toyota Tacoma, Which Wins Out?

The 2023 Chevy Colorado recently received a new redesign. The mid-size SUV now arrives with a new exterior and interior while maintaining its high capability. Chevrolet has been busy preparing for new EVs like the 2024 Silverado EV and the 2026 Colorado EV. However, this electrification effort has kept the automaker from improving its combustion engine lineup. Within the truck segment, one tough competitor to the 2023 Colorado is the 2023 Toyota Tacoma. The Tacoma has long been a popular mid-size pickup with a lot to offer. Unfortunately, it has received different attention than Chevy Colorado. We thought we’d look at both pickup trucks and see which proves the better choice for the 2023 model year.

2023 Chevy Colorado Vs. 2023 Toyota Tacoma

The 2023 Chevy Colorado has a brand-new look for the 2023 model year. The 2023 Toyota Tacoma receives two new appearance packages; otherwise, the popular mid-size pickup remains relatively unchanged. The Tacoma’s appearance packages add minor details and features, while the 2023 Colorado arrives with a new body design, an updated powertrain, and a redesigned interior cabin. The Colorado is also more affordable than the Tacoma. The 2023 Colorado starts at an MSRP of about $28,000, while the 2023 Tacoma starts at an MSRP of about $30,000. Those interested in the Colorado can get a higher trim for the price of the base Tacoma.

Looking at performance, the 2023 Chevy Colorado takes the gold with its new turbocharged 2.7L inline-four engine. Capable of 237 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, the 2.7L is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Colorado also offers a 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft torque version of the 2.7L on its higher ZR2 trim. Meanwhile, the 2023 Toyota Tacoma offers a 2.7L four-cylinder engine that delivers 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Higher trims see an upgraded V6 engine capable of 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, but this still pales compared to the Colorado.

Given the differences between the 2023 Colorado and the 2023 Tacoma, it’s evident that the Chevy Colorado wins out. With more robust performance and greater capability at a lower cost, the Colorado proves to be the more optimal choice. The mid-size pickup offers consumers a new redesign instead of the outdated Tacoma. With the 2023 Chevy Colorado, consumers can also opt for a higher trim while still paying close to the same amount they would with the base Tacoma.

2024 Chevy Silverado EV to Feature Bidirectional Charging

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV will feature bidirectional charging. The all-electric pickup truck will be capable of providing backup energy to a plethora of sources. As one of Chevrolet’s most powerful EVs, the Silverado EV is set to launch with two available trims, the base WT and the RST First Edition. The Silverado EV WT will be the first to debut in the spring of 2023 while the RST will arrive later. General Motors will also be partnering with the residential solar company SunPower to develop a home energy system that is compatible with the Silverado EV. We’ll take a closer look at this partnership and see how it will affect the Silverado’s charging capabilities.

2024 Silverado EV Will Feature Bidirectional Charging Capabilities

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV will feature bidirectional charging capabilities. Set to launch in 2023, the all-electric pickup will be available in two trims: the base WT and the RST First Edition. The WT trim will debut in the spring of 2023 while the RST First Edition will arrive later. The Silverado EV WT will come equipped with a dual motor setup that’s capable of 510 horsepower and 625lb-ft of torque. The Silverado EV RST First Edition will offer increased performance with 664 horsepower and 780lb-ft of torque.

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV First Edition will feature a 24-module battery pack that offers 200 kWh of capacity. This battery pack will provide the electric pickup with 400 miles of battery range. Owners will also be able to charge their Silverado EV at up to 350 kW which will add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. In an attempt to further the Silverado’s capability, General Motors (GM) will be partnering with the residential solar company SunPower to develop a home energy system. This system will be compatible with the Silverado EV and will be available for those who purchase the all-electric pickup.

Together, GM and SunPower will provide owners of the 2024 Chevy Silverado with a reliable home electric system. If consumers opt for it, SunPower will install rooftop solar panels. These will work in unison with the Silverado to provide a constant source of energy. Owners can use their pickup to charge other objects including other EVs. They will also be able to export energy from their pickup to their homes to offset electricity costs. If owners undergo a power outage, the Silverado EV can be used as a primary source of energy. The 2024 Silverado EV WT is set to start at an MSRP of $40,000 (plus destination fee).

Chevrolet Aims to Increase 2023 Chevy Bolt EV Production

General Motors (GM) will increase the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV production. The all-electric SUV will also see a significant price cut to increase interest. As of late, GM has been focused on its electrification efforts. With new EVs like the Chevy Silverado EV, Chevy Equinox EV, and Chevy Colorado EV, GM has a lot on its plate. The automaker has also been seeing much more interest in the Chevy Bolt EV, increasing production. GM hopes more consumers will be compelled to try an electric vehicle by making the Bolt more affordable. We’ll look at the 2023 Chevy Bolt and see what consumers can expect.

GM Will Increase Chevy Bolt Production

General Motors (GM) will be increasing the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV production. The automaker will be ramping up its production in an attempt to capitalize on solid sales numbers. The all-electric SUV has seen increased interest since GM slashed its starting price by about $5,900. The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV now starts at an MSRP of $25,600 (plus destination fee). GM hopes the reduced price will keep the Bolt EV competitive in the emerging market.

The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV arrives with a single motor setup that delivers 200 horsepower and 266lb-ft of torque. The electric SUV utilizes front-wheel drive, which grants it impressive acceleration. The Bolt EV is also quite responsive so that drivers will have an engaging driving experience. As for its range, the Bolt EV offers 259 miles of range. The electric SUV is available with a dual-level charging cord that can be used with Level 1 (120-volt) and Level 2 (240-volt) outlets. The Bolt can also be charged with a DC fast charger that adds 100 miles of range every 3 minutes with a Level 3 connection.

GM will aim to produce about 70,000 Chevy Bolt EVs for the 2023 model year. After seeing the electric SUV hit record sales numbers for the 3rd quarter of 2022, the automaker decided to focus on supplying more of the EV. While GM and Chevrolet have been updating their combustion engine lineup, it’s clear that EVs will be a primary focus for some time. Chevy also offers the Bolt EUV alongside the Bolt EV as a larger SUV alternative. Both will see production increases.

Both family-sized SUVs have received a series of improvements and upgrades. Along with the Tahoe and Suburban, Chevrolet has been providing updates for its entire lineup. Chevrolet to Offer ‘Build Your Own Engine Program’ for 2023 Corvette Z06

2023-corvette-z06

Chevrolet will be bringing back its ‘Build Your Own Engine’ program for the 2023 Corvette Z06. The automaker will allow consumers to have more control of their engine and how it is assembled. Consumers can also make use of the online configuration tool to customize their Corvette how they want. Chevrolet has been steadily making small adjustments and improvements to the all-new 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 to ensure the sports car offers the highest performance yet. With a max speed of 195 mph, consumers will have one of the most powerful Corvettes yet. This program will allow consumers to cooperate with Chevy technicians as they build their Corvette Z06 engine. Chevy has offered the program before, but we’ll take a look at what consumers can expect.

Chevy to Bring Back Corvette Z06 Engine Program

Chevrolet recently announced that it will be bringing back its ‘Build Your Own Engine’ program for the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06. The program will be available in the second quarter of 2023. Consumers will be able to work directly with Chevy technicians as they assemble the engine for their Corvette Z06. This cooperation will ensure that consumers get the most out of their Corvette. Chevy will only offer the program for Corvettes using the LT6 powertrain which means the Z06. About the program, Chevrolet plant director Kai Spande said,

“This is a real challenge for us because this is such a new engine and it’s much more complex than what we’ve ever done in the past,” said Kai Spande. “We’ve done some things that I think will be very much appreciated by those that build their engine,” Spande continued.

Chevrolet has offered the Build Your Own Engine program in the past. Previously, consumers would work directly alongside assembly-line workers as they assembled the engine. This time, however, Chevy will be designating a specific area of the Bowling Green Kentucky factory in which participants will cooperate. This allows consumers to help professionals assemble their engines without having to go down to the assembly line. Chevrolet had initially offered the Build Your Own Engine program for $5,000. Given the new accommodations, however, the price may see an increase. Still, the opportunity to have direct control over your 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 engine is a great chance to ensure you get exactly what you want out of it.

What Plans Does Chevrolet Have for the 2023 Chevy Montana?

The 2023 Chevy Montana is almost finished. The unibody compact pickup will soon make its debut though as of now, Chevrolet only has plans to sell it in Brazil. Chevrolet has not commented on whether the 2023 Montana will make its way to the states, but given the recent popularity of compact pickups, the automaker may make the decision to offer it. As of late, Chevrolet has been focused on its EVs like the Chevy Silverado EV and Chevy Colorado EV. Despite the focus on electric vehicles, this has not stopped Chevy from updating its combustion engine lineup. Vehicles like the 2023 Chevy Montana continue to be improved so we’ll take a look at the compact pickup truck and see what consumers can expect.

Will The 2023 Chevy Montana Make It To The U.S?

The 2023 Chevy Montana has almost finished production. The compact pickup truck is slated to be released in Brazil. Currently, there are no plans for Chevrolet to sell the 2023 Montana in the United States, but this could change. Given the popularity of compact pickup trucks like the Ford Maverick, Chevrolet may spend the resources to offer the Chevy Montana in the states. This would require building a new factory in the U.S however due to the Chicken Tax law. This law limits the importation of pickups and cargo vans into the US so it may pose a big hurdle for Chevy.

The 2023 Chevy Montana was recently teased by GM Brazil. The subsidiary showed off the Montana’s interior which features an analog instrument panel and an infotainment display with an 8-inch touchscreen. As for the engine, the compact pickup comes with 8 choices. This includes turbocharged options. The 2023 Montana’s base engine is a turbocharged three-cylinder that’s capable of 130 horsepower. The pickup will also come paired with an automatic transmission.

If the states do see the 2023 Chevy Montana, it’s likely that Chevrolet will make some adjustments and upgrades to the pickup. This includes increased performance as well as the option for a manual transmission. Since Chevrolet has not made any comment about the Montana coming to the U.S, this remains a far-off hope. Still, unlikelier things have happened so there may be some luck that U.S consumers see the 2023 Chevy Montana in the future.

Chevrolet Scores Above Average In J.D Power 2022 Index Study

In a recent J.D Power Index Study, Chevrolet managed to rank above average compared to its competitors. Operating as an American consumer research company, J.D Power conducts annual surveys to gauge customer satisfaction and buyer behavior. This recent 2022 study focused on vehicle technology and whether customers were satisfied with their brand’s technologies. As of late, Chevrolet has been focused on updating its combustion engine lineup and expanding its all-electric lineup. With new EVs like the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV and the 2026 Chevy Colorado EV, Chevy is hoping to offer consumers the latest in technology and driver-assist features. We’ll take a look at the new J.D Power technology index study and see how well Chevy fared overall.

Chevy Ranks Above Average in J.D Power Technology Index Study

Chevrolet recently scored above average in the 2022 J.D Power Index Study. As a leading research company, J.D Power specializes in consumer research and data analytics. The organization recently conducted one of its annual surveys to gauge consumer satisfaction surrounding vehicle technologies. Many automakers including Chevrolet have been improving their vehicles with advanced technologies and driver-assist features. The point of the recent survey was to better understand how automakers implement new technologies into their vehicles as well as how reliable they remain over time. Chevrolet managed to earn a score of 471 which was better than the average brand score of 469.

J.D Power surveyed close to 84,000 owners for its study. The criteria for participants were those who owned a 2022 model year vehicle for at least 90 days. The organization asked these owners questions about any problems they encountered with any advanced technologies. J.D Power then took this data and assigned scores for each automotive brand. Using ‘PP100’ scores, which stands for problems per owner for every 100 vehicles, J.D power awarded each brand an innovation ranking based on a 1,000-point scale.

Overall, Chevrolet’s above-average score of 471 was due to the automaker’s advanced technologies and driver-assist features. Included in most Chevy vehicles is the Chevy Safety Assist suite which offers owners a host of safety features. These include forward collision alerts, HD surround vision, and adaptive cruise control to name a few. That owners were thoroughly impressed with the technologies available speaks to the brand and its future growth. As Chevy works to offer consumers more EVs, these vehicles will come equipped with advanced technologies and features that make drivers’ lives easier.
