The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer was recently awarded the Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The compact crossover SUV has been a fairly popular choice for many SUV fans. Its affordable price and reliable handling make it an excellent choice. The spacious interior and stylish exterior also earn it points. The inclusion of Chevrolet’s latest safety package, Chevy Safety Assist, has raised the standards of the Chevy Trailblazer. With this safety package and additional safety features, the 2022 Trailblazer managed to pass the IIHS’s safety tests with a good or acceptable rating across all trims. Most vehicles manage to receive a Top Safety Pick award but to attain a Top Safety Pick+ award, the vehicle must have a positive evaluation across all its trims. The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer did exactly that.
2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Passes IIHS Tests With Top Ratings
The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer underwent several tests and inspections to obtain the Top Safety Pick+ award. These included side, driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, roof strength, and head restraint tests. Alongside all these tests, the Trailblazer underwent a test of its front crash prevention system. The Chevy Safety Assist package includes all these safety metrics, so it’s no wonder the Trailblazer did as well as it did. One last measure for the safety tests is the headlights. These were evaluated as acceptable and good.
The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer hit all the marks of the IIHS safety tests. The Chevy Safety Assist package was responsible. Chevrolet recently updated its safety package to include more features and alerts. Some of these include automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, forward-collision alerts, front pedestrian braking, lane-departure warnings, and automatic Intellibeam high beams. Depending on trim level, the Trailblazer may have additional safety features. These might include an HD rear vision camera, lane change and side blind zone alerts, rear cross-traffic alerts, rear park assist, adaptive cruise control, and OnStar safety and security coverage.
The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer also earned a top five-star crash rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This comes after the compact SUV’s previous four-star crash rating. The current higher rating was due to Chevrolet’s Safety Assist. The package improved the Trailblazer’s safety standards with hardware and software updates. These all proved to be very beneficial given the 2022 Trailblazer’s safety ratings and evaluations. The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer starts at $21,600 MSRP (plus destination fee). With its stylish exterior, comfortable handling, and top-notch safety ratings it’s a choice to consider.

This is true not just for the sales in the United States, but elsewhere in Canada and Mexico. The Trailblazer is built in Mexico and currently only has a 28-day supply left. The normal amount is around 60-days for most manufacturers. While we knew about the Chevy Trailblazer becoming a hot vehicle, we’re impressed it has sustained its growth. What has helped make the sales leap so much inside of a year? Let’s break down how the success has happened for the Chevrolet SUV.
What Has Helped the Growth of the Trailblazer?

Perks of Each Trim Level
Chevrolet has made the trim levels simple to understand for buyers. The five trims are L, LS, LT, Activ, and the RS. Owners can enjoy upgraded features that help the Trailblazer hold its own in the competitive SUV segment. The Trailblazer supplies Chevrolet’s Infotainment 3 system that offers a standard 7-inch diagonal color touchscreen, Bluetooth audio streaming for two active devices, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. The perks of the newest safety enhancements come with standard Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, and Automatic Emergency Braking. Available options like the improvement 6-speaker audio system and fold-flat front passenger seatbacks and 17-inch aluminum wheels are offered for the LS trim and the LT comes with standard heated power-adjustable mirrors and a remote vehicle starter system.
The two highlights of the Trailblazer are found in the Activ and RS trim. The ECOTEC and RS both supply the 1.3-Liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine that creates 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque.
