A Look At The 2023 Chevy Suburban

The 2023 Chevy Suburban is a family-sized SUV with a lot to offer. For the 2023 model year, the Suburban sees the introduction of Chevrolet’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology. The large SUV also sees new exterior color options. Aside from updating the Suburban, Chevrolet has been focused on electric vehicles. EVs like the Chevy Bolt EV have done exceptionally well, but the automaker is looking toward new EVs like the Silverado EV and Colorado EV. Although these are still in production, the automaker wants to compete with others like Ford and Tesla. Despite this focus, Chevrolet has still shown its combustion engine lineup attention. As such, we’ll look at the Chevrolet Suburban and see what consumers can expect.

2023 Chevrolet Suburban Performance

The 2023 Chevy Suburban arrives with several engine options. These include a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8, a 6.2L EcoTec3, and a Duramax 3.0L turbodiesel six-cylinder. Owners who opt for the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 will see 355 horsepower and 383lb-ft of torque. The 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 delivers 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the Duramax 3.0L turbodiesel delivers 277 horsepower and 460lb-ft of torque. Each of these engines comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The family-size SUV proves to be quite engaging and agile despite its size. Owners can opt for either all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. The Suburban also offers a comfortable drive thanks to its independent rear suspension and magnetic ride control.

The 2023 Suburban offers up to 8,300 pounds of towing capacity for towing. With features like magnetic ride control, an air ride adaptive suspension, and an advanced trailering system, owners will have no trouble towing and hauling. As for fuel economy, the family-sized SUV sees 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway when equipped with a diesel engine. With the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine, the Suburban gets 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.

Inside the 2023 Suburban

Inside the 2023 Suburban, owners will note an interior cabin that combines comfort with convenience. Depending on the trim, the large SUV will feature upscale materials with high-end upholstery. Features included are heated and ventilated seats along with a heated steering wheel. A 10.2-inch display serves as the infotainment system. There’s also a 15-inch diagonal head-up display. Regarding space, the Suburban offers 145 cubic feet of storage space so families can pack all they need. Additional seating space is available in the rear, thanks to the lower loading floor. There are also two 12.6-inch screens mounted behind the front seats for passengers. At a starting MSRP of $56,900 (plus destination fee), the 2023 Chevy Suburban is a highly capable and versatile family SUV.

2022 Chevrolet Suburban Receives Changes

2021-chevy-suburban

The 2022 Chevrolet Suburban will be receiving several new changes and updates for the 2022 model year. Chevrolet has been steadily ramping up its vehicles for the new year with the latest driver-assist and safety features. Chevrolet is hoping to keep consumers happy despite the ongoing chip shortage which has led to increased MSRPs all around. Thankfully, Chevy has been able to navigate and maneuver around the shortage and still provide the best-equipped vehicles. Chevy plans to build heavy-duty Suburban models for the United States Army, so it makes sense that the automaker is ensuring the latest technology and features make it through. We’ll dive in and see what Chevy has in store for 2022, but given their track record, it’s set to be some exciting features.

Chevrolet Updates 2022 Suburban

The 2022 Chevy Suburban serves as the 12th generation family-sized SUV. For the 2022 model year, Chevrolet will be making several changes and updates both inside and outside the Suburban. For its exterior, the 2022 Suburban will see the deletion of two colors and the addition of three new hues. Inside the large SUV, Chevrolet will be adding some new safety features as well as improving the infotainment system. There will also be some new package features such as an electronic limited-slip differential for the off-road package. For engine choices, Chevrolet will offer a 5.3L V8 capable of 355 horsepower and 383lb-ft of torque. There will also be a 6.2L V8 capable of 420 horsepower and 460lb-ft and a 3.0L Duramax diesel engine that’s capable of 277 horsepower and 460lb-ft of torque.

The 2022 Chevy Suburban will see the addition of several features. One of these includes rear park assist which was previously standard on all trims except for the Premier and High Country. Chevrolet will be replacing the feature with front and rear park assist and it will come standard on all trim levels. Reverse automatic braking will now be available on the Premier and High Country trims.

Inside the 2022 Chevy Suburban, consumers will note a new 10.2-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium screen system. There’s also a revision to the transmission. Now there’s a new 10-speed automatic transmission that can be equipped with either V8 engine. The 2022 Suburban will also see GM’s new electronic limited-slip differential as an exclusive feature for Z71 trims equipped with the Off-Road Capability Package. This package will also include some driver-assist features like magnetic ride control and air ride adaptive suspension.

2022 Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe to Receive New Changes

Chevrolet will be making some new changes and improvements to the 2022 Chevy Suburban and Tahoe. The two family-sized SUVs have been the recipient of a series of improvements over the years including new trims and performance packages. Now it seems Chevrolet will be making some additional improvements for the two large SUVs for the new 2022 model year. These improvements and changes will consist of new features which will improve the overall capability of the 2022 Suburban and Tahoe. We’ll dive in and see exactly what Chevrolet will be adding to the family-sized SUVs.

2022 Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe See Improvements

For the new 2022 model year, Chevrolet will be making several changes and improvements to the 2022 Chevy Suburban and Tahoe. Both family-sized SUVs have seen minor improvements over the years, but now Chevy will be adding some additional features. The first of these features will be one that was removed due to the ongoing chip shortage. Thankfully, Chevrolet has been able to work through the shortage. For the 2022 model year, Chevy will be bringing back the automatic engine stop/start feature for many of its vehicles including the Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon. Vehicles produced starting December 13th and on will come equipped with the feature. The automatic stop/start feature switches the vehicle off when it comes to a stop, then it restarts the engine when the driver takes their foot off the brake again. This helps drastically reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

The other change coming to the 2022 Chevy lineup will be a new 10-speed automatic transmission. This transmission will be fitted to either the 5.3L V8 or the 6.2L V8 gas engine. It will be paired with Chevrolet’s controlled overdrive as well as a traction select system that offers towing and haul modes. It should be noted that those vehicles equipped with the Duramax 3.0L turbodiesel engine will still use the old GM 10-speed transmission. About the new transmission, a GM spokesperson said, “the new gearbox allows our manufacturing and dealer teams to more easily align the specific calibration needed for the transmission and can enable OTA updates in the future.”

GM will be moving toward over-the-air (OTA) updates with their new Vehicle Intelligence Platform. Many automakers have been working to provide this service for consumers as it allows auto companies to provide updates that fix bugs and improve performance. It’s good to see Chevy adding features and improving aspects like its gearbox. We’re excited for the new 2022 Suburban and Tahoe and can’t wait to see what else Chevy has in store.

GM Defense Wins Contract to Build Super Suburbans

General Motors just received a big win. The automaker has been making headlines recently with its rollout of all-new vehicles like the Chevy Silverado ZR2 and the all-electric Chevy Silverado. Now the automaker is making more news as its subsidiary GM Defense takes on a new $36.4 million contract from the state department. This contract dictates that GM Defense will create heavy-duty Suburbans for the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS). Federal law enforcement and security departments will make use of the tough defense-oriented vehicles. This is huge news as the automaker will work to produce 10 of the super SUVs and eventually more should the project go well.

GM Defense to Produce Super Suburban

GM Defense, a subsidiary of General Motors, will start work on heavy-duty Suburbans in the spring of 2022. The subsidiary company was only recently formed in 2017, but it has already made quite a lot of headway. In 2020, the United States Army awarded GM Defense its first contract worth $214.3 million. This contract was to build Infantry Squad Vehicles (ISV) which would be based on the 2020 Chevrolet ZR2 pickup. These ISVs were designed for rapid ground mobility and are capable of carrying a nine-soldier infantry squad. Now the GM Defense subsidiary is working toward another contract. About this new project, the president of GM Defense Steve duMont said,

“Our development contract win speaks to our long-standing legacy of exceeding transportation capabilities and our new, HD Suburban will deliver government-specific advanced mobility solutions to meet the needs of DSS,” said Steve duMont, president of GM Defense.

GM Defense will use GM’s commercial vehicle architecture to design the new Suburbans for the DSS. The architecture will provide the framework for the body, exterior, interior, and brakes of the government-issue Suburbans. The new Suburbans will feature a unique body-on-frame chassis and suspension. These vehicles will utilize the latest in technology and manufacturing to ensure the government vehicles will have increased performance and greater ground weight. When producing vehicles for the state defense department, a certain level of detail is expected compared to commercial vehicles. It’s expected that GM Defense will aim to make the toughest and most capable vehicles for the department.

The GM Defense factory is located in Concord, North Carolina. The subsidiary delivered its first Infantry Squad Vehicle in October of 2020. It will continue to produce these ISVs as well as the new heavy-duty Suburbans. GM has landed on a great opportunity here so be on the lookout for these heavy-duty vehicles as well as the ISVs.

5 Things We Like about the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban

The 2021 Chevrolet Suburban is one of the larger SUVs available. With its recent makeover, the family-sized SUV has become a more accommodating vehicle that gives its competition a run for their money. With additional cargo space and passenger room, the 2021 Chevy Suburban is set to rise even higher among the ranks of family-sized SUVs. Along with more space, improvements to the overall driving experience have provided the large SUV with a more dominant position. The combination of better handling and passenger-oriented improvements has led to this laundry list of highlights. So, here are five things that make the 2021 Chevy Suburban an optimal choice.

More Passenger Space and Cargo Room

First of all, compliments to GM for recognizing that a family-sized SUV has to not only fit an entire family but also comfortably fit an entire family. The recent improvements to the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban have added more passenger space for the second and third rows. They have also added additional cargo space. Now, the second row inside the 2021 Chevy Suburban has an extra 2.3 inches of legroom. The third row has 2 inches of additional legroom. Both rows also have been raised to a higher position so that passengers can feel a bit more comfortable. These improvements make it so that even taller adults can sit comfortably in either row.

Regarding cargo space, the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban has made improvements that provide more room for bulkier items. The cargo floor has been lowered by more than 5 inches which makes loading large items much easier. In total, the Chevy Suburban has about 144.7 cubic feet of cargo space when the second and third-row seats are folded down. With a deeper cargo floor, Suburban owners can rest easy knowing they can comfortably load and haul just about anything.

Smoother Ride and Handling

Moving to the second highlight, modifications to the Suburban have made rides exceptionally smooth. Optional features like the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Magnetic Ride Control give the 2021 Chevy Suburban better handling and control. This makes the interior cabin quieter and reduces shakiness. Now road trips can be enjoyed without fear of cargo rattling around or breaking.

Optional Diesel Engine

The third highlight of the Suburban is the optional diesel engine. With 277 horsepower and 460lb-ft of torque, this new engine offers the same torque as the higher-rated 6.2L V-8 engine. This addition adds a much better fuel economy for those longer trips.

Smooth Transmission

For the fourth highlight, the Suburban’s transmission gets a point. A 10-speed automatic transmission provides quick reactions for the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban. It also operates seamlessly with either the 5.3L or 6.2L V-8 engines. Offering smooth performance, the newer transmission bumps the large SUV up a few points on the leaderboard.

Additional Safety

The final point revolves around safety, perhaps one of the most important aspects of any vehicle. Despite the monstrous size of the Chevy Suburban, options like the Enhanced Display and Alert Package provide drivers with smart technology. This makes maneuvering even the smallest of parking lots a breeze. Included in the Alert package are a 360-degree camera system, a rearview camera mirror, pedestrian detection, and a large heads-up display. All this provides drivers with the peace of mind that they and their passengers are safe and secure.

Chevrolet Earns Three Nominations For the 2021 North American Utility of the Year Award

Sub Miami Lakes Automall

The 2021 North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) Awards have announced the 27 semifinalists including the massively popular 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer, the revamped Chevrolet Tahoe, and the iconic Chevrolet Suburban. These are just three of the choices among the 27, but all can earn the Utility of the Year award. The awards first began in 1994 and represents a way for automotive manufacturers to celebrate the most popular vehicles each year. The criteria to win requires offering a standout performance in innovation, design, safety, performance driver satisfaction, value, and technology. Last year, Chevrolet was awarded the Car of the Year award for the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The Chevrolet brand has also won for the 2018 Chevrolet Bolt for Car of the Year as well. This year’s show has been pushed back, however, but the details have been revealed as to when it will go on, roughly a year from now.

2021 NAIAS Show Moved Back

A jury of 50 independent journalists has lowered the finalists count and each vehicle will be fully vetted in the coming months ahead. The announcement of the winners will take place at the 2021 North American International Auto Show that has been pushed back till September 28th through October 9th, 2021. The event will take place in Detroit, Michigan. This is not the only auto show event that has been pushed back due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Los Angeles Auto Show has been pushed back to May 2021 and the New York International Auto Show has moved to April 2021. This means there will be a massive 33-month gap between the last auto show that was held back in January 2019. The NAIAS will continue at the TCF Center for the next three years and keep its later date.

Changing of the Guard

The landscape of the automotive industry has changed in favor of SUV growth. According to IHS Markit, a company that offers critical research and information for various companies, the growth of SUVs accounts for 47.4% of U.S. sales last year. While that number was quite high in 2019, the figure could be even higher in 2020. Sedans saw a fall down to as low as 22%, unfortunately for customers who embrace driving a car. The 2021 NACTOY award nominees for the sedans this year only include some of the sleekest and stylish car options.

“The breadth of choices in the SUV category from style to powertrain is really impressive,” said NACTOY Secretary Gary Vasilash, an industry veteran who is editor-in-chief of AutoBeat.

Look Out For More Innovation

Of course, Chevrolet is looking forward to improving its own lineup of SUVs. The crop of the newest Chevrolet SUV lineup carries the newest infotainment and safety technology that helped earned this nomination. Chevy is wise to invest more high-tech and push ahead to new EV technology. The state of California has announced the prohibition of any new, gas-powered cars in just over 14 years from now. By 2035, the landscape of vehicles will look quite different. Drivers looking for a smart pick to drive will take a closer look at the current new Chevrolet inventory here at Miami Lakes Automall.

Chevrolet Leads the Way WIth Reliable SUV Models

Everyday shoppers are ready to spend money on a shiny, new vehicle. Once a vehicle has been identified, customers are quick to research a vehicle they like before they finally decide on making the purchase. What is likely the most important aspect of choosing to opt for one vehicle over another is longevity. A recent study has been made public by iSeeCars.com and looked at vehicles that have 200,000 miles (remarkable longevity) and still run well. Guess what their research found? Two vehicles in their top ten included the Chevrolet Suburban and Chevrolet Tahoe. Ready to learn more about the reasons? Let’s begin.

More On the Longevity Study

With over 13.8 million pre-owned vehicles leaving lots in 2018 alone, customers more than ever want a reliable quality vehicle. The study by iSeeCars.com focused on the model years 1981 through 2018 that have gone over 200,000 miles only. The percentage of vehicles that have reached that high mile count is five percent for the Chevrolet Suburban. The Chevrolet Suburban placed second on the list with the Chevrolet Tahoe placing sixth, as the Tahoe had 3.8 percent of these vehicles sold in 2018 with over 200,000 miles logged.

While the focus was on the number of miles, there was also a focus geographically. The longest-lasting vehicles in the top 25 most dense cities, which identified that in Detroit the Chevrolet Suburban made up 7.5 percent of all cars with over 200,000 miles. Not bad considering Detroit is known as the center of the U.S. automotive industry.

Why It’s Important For A Vehicle to Be Reliable Over the Long Term

Drivers don’t know when they purchase a vehicle when they might end up selling it. Sometimes they end up being owned a lot longer than expected. There are many reasons why owning a vehicle that can last as long as possible. After purchasing a house, a vehicle is the next most important investment a person can make. The vehicles that provide the longest reliability should be considered when making any decision. While all vehicles look and drive great when they are new, to own a vehicle that can hit 200,000 miles traveled on the odometer is the goal. Just for fun, iSeeCars.com said among the pre-owned vehicles sold in 2018, very few hit 300,000 miles. As expected, vehicles don’t last forever. However, 0.2 percent of the Chevrolet Suburban hit that mark.

Both the 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2019 Chevrolet Suburban have up to seating for eight. These SUVs are large and luxurious, but also quite modern with tons of amenities that help drivers and passengers alike to embrace each drive. America’s best-selling full-size SUV in the Chevrolet Tahoe and the remarkable fuel-efficient of the Suburban, a vehicle with a V8 engine at 22 highway, both offer plenty to love. Looking to drive the latest Chevrolet vehicles and see how long they can last?
