Future Chevrolet Corvette Models Will Offer Unparalleled Horsepower

Excited for a 1,000 horsepower Chevrolet Corvette? Most of our readers already expect this to be a reality sooner than later. The modern world has grown accustomed to learning practically everything about a vehicle before it becomes available for sale. From the first rumors and reports, bloggers and the interested fans keep speculation a year-round event for beloved brands and vehicles. One of those vehicles is the Chevrolet Corvette and how much better its performance is set to become. With the eighth-generation Corvette debut, the C8, many stories and quotes helped shape what future owners could expect. Whoever is behind creating some of the latest innovations for Chevrolet certainly has a leak issue, but we know why!

No Secrets With the Chevrolet Corvette

There’s no denying the excitement of new Corvette news. There are always new stories that talk about the immense speed of a Corvette or upcoming news. There are new technical specifications that have been reported regarding the C8 in recent weeks that seem to confirm the long-standing report the new Chevrolet Corvette will indeed be the first one to boast 1,000 horsepower. That’s not the only news that has been discovered. In fact, Chevrolet’s own documents on the subject have leaked. In specific, there are details that have shown only a single engine owners can choose from. It’s a 6.2-Liter V8 powertrain that hits 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque standard. The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel-drive.

Upcoming Corvette Engine Ratings

For the upcoming Z06 model, this vehicle is set to debut for the 2023 model year with a 5.5-Liter V8 engine that has 650 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. Compared to the previous Z06, that adds an additional 50 lb-ft of torque. By 2024, Chevrolet is reported to bring back the Grand Sport trim. The Grand Sport will return with a 600-horsepower, 500 lb-ft of torque engine, far surpassing the last Grand Sport that hit 460-horsepower. As for the ZR1 trim, owners will love the new twin-turbocharged version of the Z06’s eight called LT7 internally. A healthy 850 horsepower and 825 lb-ft of torque, and this will be launched for the 2025 model year.

But, perhaps the most talked about will be the Corvette flagship trim that is expected to hit that magical 1,000 horsepower mark. The same documents outline a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain made up of a twin-turbocharged, 5.5-liter V8 engine and an unspecified form of electrification listed in the report about the four-digit horsepower powertrain. This will be a first for the regular-production, street-legal Corvette. Not to mention the monstrous 975 lb-ft of torque. The nameplate will be known as “Zora”, as Chevrolet trademarked that name back in 2019. The expectation for the Zora is years down the road however during the 2026 model year. Keep in mind, these specifications and dates are unofficial. But, we do know how our readers and customers can get into a new Chevrolet vehicle today!

C8 Miami Lakes Automall

Can The Corvette C8 Break A 10-Second Quarter-Mile Time?

Some diehard Chevrolet Corvette racing enthusiasts were skeptical about a mid-engine Corvette before its debut. For those that were committed to using their Corvette to fly down a drag strip, they can now opt to switch things up as one automotive specialist has done. Taking the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette, which is the first to feature a 15-inch wheel conversion, one Texan specialist team saw room for improvement. Let’s break down the changes to the new “C8” that has perked the ears of many racing enthusiasts in the Chevrolet community. Can the 2020 Corvette improve its time to go under 10 seconds on the strip?

How to Improve the Corvette For Drag Races

The thought behind changing up the all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is not taken lightly. With the first move, a change was made to see the 15-inch wheels being moved and pushed back to ride on the rear axle. This allows for the considerably more generous tire sidewall to help provide traction for that all-important jump once a drag race starts. Note that the Chevy wheels come with a beadlock feature. For those who are used to drag racing, they are used to rubber being burned, but this move should help keep the rubber from burning fast. This move was supplied by Mickey Thompson. Anything to help tires keep rubber longer is a good thing. At least, that is the hope by this automotive specialist.

With the larger wheels added to the front, there will be more help to not only preserve a great start, but there is a chance to save the tires from burning out faster. The thicker 18-inch tires are built with a narrow form, as these skinnier tires generate less friction as the machine flies down the drag strip.

How to Make the C8 Fly Down the Strip

Many Drag Pack options have been compiled to improve the speed of the Corvette when racing them. Some have even involved 18-inch wheels on all four corners, but this mix of 18-inch and 15-inch tires converging is a first. Of course, this meant extra mods, since the smaller wheels required different brakes, along with added suspension work. The work was finished by Texan specialist LG Motorsport. Their work on the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is unique and impressive. They also took the extra step to render the vehicle with stronger axles as the extra-sticky hardware increases stress on the drivetrain, so this modification works to help relieve that pressure.

Not Everything Needed Modifications

In order to push the 2020 Corvette on a drag strip, no changes were needed to improve the 6.2-Liter V8 powertrain. However, the Corvette is not different from any vehicle that races and just like a vehicle in any Fast and the Furious movie, LG Motorsport added a nitrous setup. While numerous developers have included power adders to the LT2 motor of the C8, LG Motorsport has not changed the factory ECU. Looking to break the record for the fastest C8 Corvette in the quarter-mile is a task that has competition as the time has recently been improved upon. The fastest time ever recorded is just 10.495s at a ridiculously fast speed of 130.89 mph. Not quite under 10-seconds but this might happen someday with more modifications. We’re sure all this talk about drag racing in a Corvette gives our readers the need for speed.

New 2021 Corvette C8 Rumors A Full-Go

The newest details are coming out about the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette C8. A General Motors document was leaked containing information that shows a list of items. The expected changes for the second model year of the eighth-generation Corvette, named the C8, include some surprises. Among the new changes, Magnetic Selective Ride Control is set to become a standalone option for drivers. A delayed production start during the initial model year for the first-ever mid-engine Corvette also saw a slowdown no thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic. General Motors had to cease all production at its Bowling Green factory just when demand had reached its highest point. As of now, buyers can no longer order a 2020MY Corvette, so the focus has now shifted to orders for the 2021 Corvette C8.

Good News For Those Who Held Out

From the looks of the leaked document, the 2021 Corvette will have some key additions to help drive sales. The information is sourced from the Global Connect Order WorkBench, a software that dealerships often rely on to collect orders for new vehicles. Customers will have the choice of two new body color options including Red Mist Tintcoat and Silver Flare. Both of which, according to Corvette Blogger, shall be in place of Long Beach Red and Blade Silver. It’s a bit unusual to see such a change after just one model year, but it appears Chevy is open to update the available color options to meet demand. A noticeable carbon fiber finish for the high-wing and the door intake trim will be ready for the 2021 Corvette C8, as well as a slew of body stripes that can be selected to match a wide array of colors. For now, the visible carbon fiber ground effects are not available for customers to select for now. The addition of the Magnetic Selective Ride Control as a standalone option means customers no longer have to opt for the Z51 package.

Interior Changes Come As Well

There are some modest adjustments that will be found on the inside as well. Fantastic options like wireless Apple CarPlay are set to become standard across the entire line-up.  The 3LT will be available with a couple of new seat combinations for customers to choose from. New all-weather floor liners are also included, as well as a car cover depicting the C8.R race car. Another listing is the “Stingray R”, but the details to that are not known. Corvette Blogger has this item as a possible special-edition model with visual upgrades taken directly from the C8.R. While these are some of the minor details that will make up some of the changes, we know the timing of the 2021 Corvette C8 is set to start later in the fall of 2020.

Production Is Nearing For 2021 C8

The beginning of assembly of the 2021 Corvette is scheduled to ramp up by September 2020. That’s if production isn’t slowed down by that point due to the coronavirus aftermath. We have hopes the slowdown will not hinder production of the mid-engined sports car, making it back-to-back years of a slowed roll out. There has been speculation and reports that have placed the Chevrolet Corvette sports car at a new starting price over last year’s considerably low $60,000 MSRP for the base model. Chevrolet actually loses money with the sale of the low-end C8 trims. Thinking about driving the premiere Chevrolet product?

Midmaro Miami Lakes Automall

Is The Chevrolet Camaro To Receive Mid-Engine Like The C8 Corvette?

Every now and then it’s fun to speculate about where the automotive industry will go next. Once a brand decides on changing up its script, we can imagine a company extending its new approach to other vehicle segments using the same method. Take Chevrolet for example, Chevy has done the unthinkable once before with creating a mid-engine Corvette. This happened last year when the Corvette was changed with the “C8”. After seven generations of the Corvette and over fifty years of history, Chevrolet opted to place the powertrain in the middle of the vehicle. Now, one designer has modified the Chevrolet Camaro to have the same powertrain set up, dubbing his rendering the Chevrolet Midmaro.

Will There Be A Chevrolet “Midmaro”?

As of now, no. Keep in mind, the future is not written yet and no reports have confirmed that Chevrolet is truly considering moving the engine with the Camaro as well. However, just like with concept cars, this could be the spark that ignites the change for Chevrolet and its upcoming line-up. When rival brand Dodge introduced the Widebody concept to the Challenger, it was only a matter of time before the perks of the Widebody made its way over to fellow Dodge muscle car, the Dodge Charger. Chevrolet has a thing for dressing up its pony cars in a new light and this might be the result someday. The image above was rendered and created by Gabe Florido, the founder of Car Lifestyle. The Camaro rendering looks futuristic and sleek and adopts the same engine placement as the Corvette. If Chevrolet opted to produce a vehicle like this, with various powertrain options for drivers, this could help the Camaro compete with rivals like Porsche in the future. Of course, we all know about what Chevy is currently working on with an electric Camaro in the works. But, we know there are other possibilities that could always come as a result of accomplishment. The result of making the Corvette a mid-engine vehicle was quite a feat.

Why Would Chevy Consider Changing the Camaro?

Chevrolet has already made the change to arguably its most well-known production vehicle, the Corvette. The “C8” is a breath of fresh air for Chevy enthusiasts to enjoy. A mid-engine car allows for a slew of upgrades around the rest of the vehicle for an owner to enjoy its powerful 6.2-Liter LT2 V8 engine. Designers had to work extra hard with the challenges of never building a Corvette with such a set-up, but that difficult engineering feat is over with. Now, the fruits of those labors could be applied to another Chevrolet vehicle. We’re certain that a mid-engine Camaro could become a concept vehicle in the future at the very least. We ask our readers to talk to us on social media to see what they think about the Chevrolet Corvette C8, but also what they would think of the Camaro getting the same treatment. As always, for all things Chevrolet, check out Miami Lakes Automall to find and drive the best Chevy vehicles around.

Chevrolet has announced a new special edition, simply known as the Special Edition for the 2020 Spark. The subcompact car was topped in 2019 by the Chevrolet Spark, ahead of the competition and looks to continue its reign at the top spot for 2020. Over 31,000 Spark vehicles were sold last year and Chevy has added 15-inch black-painted, machine-finished wheels, black DRL bezels, a black grille with matching black bowtie badges and looks fantastic. Under the hood, a 1.4-Liter four-cylinder with 98 horsepower and 94 lb-ft of torque with front-wheel-drive. Let’s get into the new special edition and upcoming 2021 model year due out later in 2020.

More On the 2020 Chevrolet Spark

The Spark was updated with the 2019 model year to include a more eloquent and chrome-laden front and added dual-element taillamps. Owners can opt for the Driver Confidence Package that is available for the 2LT trim and adds collision alert, automatic emergency braking, as well as lane departure warning and adds low speed forward automatic braking. Safety improvements weren’t the only added feature, with updates to include new interior and exterior color options and new wheel designs. The latest Chevrolet infotainment comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities as well as two USB ports. Drivers can opt for the color in black with a white roof or blue with a white roof. The Special Edition is a neat entry for those who want the best look for the Spark. Eventually, the 2021 Chevy Spark will arrive. Early reports have come out to mention some of the changes coming out.

2021 Model Year Is Approaching

Eventually, the 2021 Chevrolet Spark will arrive, but the next-generation is not due out for at least a year or more. The changes for the 2021 model year will include the same four trims, the base L, LT, ACTIV, and the premium 2LT. More colors will be added including the new Cayenne Orange, which replaces the Orange Burst and the Mystic Blue will replace the Raspberry color. The color combinations on the inside include Jet Black with Dark Anderson Silver Metallic, Caribbean Blue as well as Jet Black. The naturally-aspirated 1.4-Liter engine will have the same horsepower and torque combination for the 2021 model year as the 2020 model year. Two available transmission carries a 5-speed manual or automatic continuously variable transmission. This is the second-generation Spark and pricing and release date has not been announced yet for the 2021 model year. Thinking about driving a new Chevy?

Chevrolet Refreshed the Top EV On the Market, the 2020 Chevy Bolt

Chevy Miami Lakes Automall

General Motors has plans to refresh and update the Chevrolet Bolt EV. The vehicle has been apart of the Chevy lineup for four years. A new wave of electric vehicles is set to come out from GM early in the new decade and the Chevrolet Bolt will be revamped to look sharp and offer the modern amenities that have been recently developed. In the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt, the Bolt actually costs less and offers better fuel efficiency with a driving range of 259 miles, up from 238 miles last year. The Bolt also charges faster than ever before, up 150% faster during the first 30 minutes of charging in colder temperatures than the previous model.

No Vehicle Has Better Fuel Efficiency

The fuel range for the Bolt is greater than the Hyundai Kona Electric, the Tesla Model 3, the Kia Niro, the Nissan Leaf Plus, and BMW I3. The top of the electric vehicle class is the 2020 Chevy Bolt EV. The engineering team at Chevy worked tirelessly to improve the energy of the cell electrodes in the battery. By improving the cell chemistry, the number of cells is the same, but each one is more energy-dense with an improvement of 6 kWh of energy. The Bolt battery pack is up from 60 kWh to 66 kWh. This increase is detrimental to allowing the 2020 Chevrolet Bolt to become the top EV, which was Chevrolet’s goal to reclaim the top spot. The future of the Chevrolet Bolt looks bright with the Bolt EUV expected to be ready by the 2022 model year. The EUV has a larger wheelbase at 3.0 inches longer than the Bolt. This will provide more room in the backseats and will look more upright and like an SUV with a sunroof.

More Than Just the Best Fuel Range of Any EV

Upgrades have also come by way of technology upgrades. The Bolt EV has HD Rear Vision and HD Surround Vision Cameras that help to give a full-display rearview mirror/camera. The new pedestrian alert system helps drivers with a noise that goes off in the newly placed speakers in both the front and rear of the vehicle. With high-tech upgrades, lower pricing, the expectation is to see greater numbers from customers. Also, it’s important to keep in mind that the Bolt is also quick with a 0 to 60 mph time of 6.5 seconds. While speaking about the improvements, the plan has been clear about what Chevrolet wanted to do with the Bolt EV.

“The Chevrolet Bolt EV has been changing consumer perceptions of electric vehicles since its launch in 2016. The great range now, even more, is the foundation of the Bolt EV’s success, and when paired with features like one-pedal driving, Regen on Demand and the instant torque of the EV motor, the vehicle delivers an exceptional driving experience. Chevrolet also is helping to encourage EV adoption by providing customers the necessary tools and services to make EV ownership more convenient,” said Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet Passenger Car and Crossover Marketing.

January is always a good month, the new year has arrived and so has award season. The 2020 North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year awards have been announced. Among the voters were writers, a total of 50 automotive journalists from the United States and Canada. The results this year were a welcome sight for Chevrolet as the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has won the Car category. This vehicle has been heralded as a legendary vehicle from inception. The first mid-engine Corvette has performance-enhancing technology that is heads and tails above nearly all vehicles on the road today. A beautifully, refined vehicle inside and out, Chevrolet knows they struck gold with the latest Corvette.

Why the Corvette Stingray?

The Corvette Stingray is spacious with top-end suspension, the sharpest details, and exterior design ever and has won drivers over. Buyers love the sleek carbon-flash coloring and intense body colors. The voters that decided on the Chevrolet product helped Chevy user in its third award, the first since the C7 debuted in 2014. The first NACUT award for Chevrolet came from the 1998 Corvette. The performance and low price point earned a lot of buzz. Not sure what is included with this phenomenal sports car? Lots of options for customers and a lot of speed thanks to the powerful 6.2-Liter V8 engine that hits 495 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of torque.

The Choice Is Yours

The C8 Stingray trim provides three seating options instead of two, as the previous generation provided. Custom color choices now go up for the tones, materials, and seatbelt colors. Buyers can select from two different tones, three materials, and six seatbelt colors the owner can decide over. The former “Automobile of the Year” winner by Automobile Magazine and named to back to back Car and Driver “10Best list” in 2018 and 2019, drivers can expect only the best in top-notch materials from Chevrolet as it won yet another award with this North American Car selection. 2020 SS Miami Lakes Automall

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro The Most Impressive Chevy Ever Built?

2020 SS Miami Lakes Automall

Chevrolet has become fixated on building up the Camaro to top the list above all its competition. The Camaro isn’t far off either. The Chevrolet Camaro SS is one of the most sought after performance cars in the segment. We hope to help our readers and new customers keep in mind how immersive the Camaro driving experience can be. Thanks to an impressive V8 engine and inexpensive price tag (the base SS begins at less than $38,000 MSRP), the Camaro has become the choice for many owners. So, why start the new year off in a brand new Camaro? Let us share why we love the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro SS trim.

Feel The Strength of A New Camaro

The 2020 Camaro has five trims ranging from the base LS, LT, LT1, SS and all the way up to the ZL1 trim. The Camaro carries the LT and LT1 trim, which provides drivers with the same base engine, but lacks the refinement added to the SS trim. The SS improvements and possibilities make it more valuable for drivers and the upgrade is worth the price. The SS has a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen, top-of-the-line Brembo brakes, high-performance tires, and adds a digital instrument information display as standard equipment above the LT1 Owners gain heated and ventilated front seating, power seats with memory pack, plus an entirely refined interior. The SS also provides available magnetic dampers (not currently on the LT1) that convert the Camaro SS into a racing track champion. When coupled with a 1LE suspension tune, the Camaro SS can keep speed with nearly any vehicle on the track. Maybe one day, the Camaro will have its own Hollywood Star just like the Chevrolet Suburban?

Why Choose the SS Trim?

Simply put, drivers will gain the 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. Chevy has revealed the Camaro SS is quicker to 60 mph with a 10-speed automatic, at merely 4.0 seconds, but the 6-speed automatic transmission goes from zero to 60 mph at 4.3 seconds. Simply put, our choice for drivers looking to get one the best performance car options is to side with Chevrolet and the impressive SS trim of the latest Camaro. The Camaro begins at $25,000 MSRP (Plus destination fee) but we want our readers to know all about the SS trim. Second only to the ZL1 trim, the SS is poised to help customers get the most out of Chevrolet. Want to drive home the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro right now?

2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Miami Lakes Automall

Chevrolet Helps Make the Luxury SUV Segment More Spacious Than Ever

2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Miami Lakes Automall

Chevrolet introduces the 2021 Tahoe Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in Detroit, Michigan. The full-size SUV has gone through a complete transformation, adding sixty-six percent more cargo room behind the third row and ten additional inches of third-row leg room. New Air Ride Adaptive Suspension offers load leveling at all four corners of the vehicle and up to four inches of ride-height adjustment. Five interior display screens are available. Best-in-class nine camera views and new trailering technology are also featured. The 2021 Tahoe goes on sale mid-2020 in North America. (Photo Credit: Chevrolet)

More than just cruise control and power steering, vehicles today have introduced safety and entertainment features that keep drivers safer and offer more comfort for both the driver and passengers alike. But there is also one reason customers buying new vehicles are happy – all the room. The Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban have grown substantially in space for customers to enjoy for the 2021 model year. Buyers will have more headroom, greater legroom, and extra space to haul cargo. This is exactly what customers want as large SUVs are making a comeback in the new decade. The previous decade saw an increase of larger SUVs. The growth has been noticeable for both the large SUV and the full-size pickup.

“When you go out and do clinics on almost any vehicle and you ask what people want, they almost always say they want more space,” Stephanie Brinley, principal automotive analyst at research firm IHS Markit.

Better MPG Fuels Buyers

As the nation’s gasoline prices have continued to maintain a relatively low amount, in comparison to a decade ago, the image of an SUV being gas guzzlers has been removed from the buyer’s mind. The national average price of gas hasn’t exceeded $3 since 2014, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. A low unemployment rate and strong stock prices have helped SUV sales. The newest SUVs coming out today, even large SUVs have improved their overall mpg. Currently, in the SUV segment, 28 vehicles in the 2020 model year have a remarkable 30 miles per gallon in combined city-highway driving, compared with only one model back at the turn of the century in 2000.

“With low gas prices, nobody cares how big they are really, and the fuel economy has improved, too,” says Michelle Krebs, executive analyst at car-buying site Autotrader.

SUVs Have Never Been More Attractive

Traditional car sales have slumped, and more than half of all new car sales are projected to be SUV sales in 2020 according to a projection by Edmunds. Taking a closer look at the upcoming, new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, the Tahoe is now 6.7 inches longer than the 2020 model and the wheelbase is 4.9 inches longer.  That increased size has now added to the Chevrolet Tahoe’s overall maximum cargo room by 29.8%. Since the 1999 model year up to the 2021 model, GM has put together a vehicle that has increased 17.7 inches in length to the Tahoe. Customers today can embrace getting further with more cargo like never before. The luxury has never looked better than the Chevy products of the new decade. Find out more with our help and a test-drive today.

The Strongest, Most Fuel-Efficient Diesel Is a Silverado

In the landscape of half-ton pick-ups, there is only one fuel economy champion: the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado Diesel. Among the latest trucks hitting dealerships this fall, the right to call themselves the most fuel-efficient is the new 2020 Silverado because it’s new 3.0-Liter inline six-cylinder LM2 turbo-diesel Duramax nets 33 highway MPG. (Try saying that five times fast.) Regardless of how fast that statement is read or said aloud, the truth has been written and Silverado stands ahead of rival brands like Ford and Ram. We’re more than happy to go over the details that have made the upcoming 2020 Silverado a must-have for customers.

Chevrolet Silverado Has What Truck Owners Want Most

Buyers looking for a pickup usually want two main things. In these modern times, great fuel economy of a vehicle is king, but one feature is paramount as well; strength. Consider those who opt for the new Silverado will be ahead of the crowd on both counts. The new powertrain has a solid horsepower rating of 277 horsepower with an immense 460 lb-ft of torque. While the highway is highly rated at 33 MPG, the city MPG is at 22 with two-wheel-drive. This is General Motors’ first-ever full-size light-pickup that carries the available inline six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. The diesel availability runs in the LT, RST, LTZ and High Country trims for the 2020 Silverado. Chevrolet has worked hard to make this 2020 Silverado pickup stand out as it does and created a seamless process to turn out this pickup for customers.

Not Just Better Mileage, Stronger As Well

Getting the tough jobs done in a half-ton pickup requires a lot of strength to go along with efficiency. The new 2020 Silverado compared to the 2020 Ram 1500, well, the numbers stack up in favor of the Chevrolet product. The Ram diesel provides just 260, compared to the aforementioned 277 horsepower in the Silverado. The 2020 Ram 1500 diesel posts less in both city and highway MPG as well as combined MPG, hitting a point lower in each category. Think Ford does better with its 2020 Ford F-150? Nope. The Ford F-150 Power Stroke Diesel Lion pickup actually supplies 27 less horsepower and 20 less lb-ft of torque. The Ford F-150 also only hits 30 highway MPG and 2 MPG less in combined fuel economy. So, what does this mean for customers looking to get into a new diesel model? There’s no better choice among the major brands for a new pickup.
