Chevy Against Chevy! The 2022 Silverado vs. The 2022 Colorado

Monday, January 3rd, 2022

The Chevrolet company is known for its ability to produce affordable and stylish vehicles, especially when regarding its SUVs and trucks. Two of its most popular models are the Silverado and the Colorado pickups. The foremost is the largest of the two, serving as a full-sized pickup as opposed to the Colorado’s mid-size frame.

There are also many advantages that these two Chevy trucks have over the other, especially for the 2022 model year. Let’s explore a bit more about what makes them similar and what makes them different.

2022 Chevrolet Silverado

The 2022  Chevrolet Silverado is new and improved, bringing along with it a refreshed exterior and interior style. The pickup can be personalized with regular, double, and crew cab layouts. There are also options for cargo boxes, specifically: short, standard, and long beds. Choices for powertrains also range from an entry-level 2.7-liter 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, and the 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel 6-cylinder engine, which all come with a 10-speed automatic.

The diesel engine shows that it’s one bad mother with its towing capabilities, as its injection of power makes it possible to tug up to 13,000 lbs. On top of this, the powertrain can be had with either rear- or four-wheel-drive.

If you’re looking for a little more adventure, shoppers can opt for the new off-roading ZR2 trim. Upgrades on this model encompass shocks from Multimatic, front and rear locking differentials, and augmented bumpers and skid plates. This ZR2 version also uses 33-inch all-terrain tires.

Another thing that distinguishes the Silverado apart from its siblings is the availability of parent company’s, General Motors’ (GM) Super Cruise system, a semi-autonomous driving system, which specifically has been tuned to work while towing on the Silverado. It is worth noting, however, that this feature will on be available on the top-ranking High Country model.

2022 Chevrolet Colorado

The mid-size 2022 Colorado may be a bit smaller but only expands in terms of its features. Starting with its excellent list of powertrains, two cab configurations, and cargo boxes. This truck also has the best towing in its class, with 7,700 lbs, which is achieved when it’s matched with the 2.8-liter Duramax Diesel engine. Rounding off the gasoline offerings are the 2.0-liter inline-4 and a 3.6-liter V6, which also have two- and four-wheel drive systems.

The Colorado also has an off-roading pickup of its own, the Z71. This model comes with an automatic locking rear differential, an off-road suspension, hill descent control, and all-terrain tires. The new Trailboss Package is also an option for 4WD versions of the LT and Z71 models. Skidplates, an off-road appearance package, along with a front 10-inch leveling kit come with the kit, of which there is currently a shortage of.

The ZR2 can tackle rough and tough terrain with its locking front differential, high-performance Multimatic shocks, four-wheel drive, off-road front fascia, and a taller and wider stance for elevated off-road capabilities. Interested buyers can also opt for ZR2’s Bison Edition, which was made through the partnership with American Expedition Vehicles. This optional package even furthers the off-road capabilities.

Miami Lakes Chevrolet

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado and 2022 Colorado are both highly competent and adept in their own right, with the former being skilled in providing engine choices, three cab possibilities and three box lengths, towing and payload, while the latter is masterful with providing a highly comfortable ride, a wide choice of engines, great fuel economy and a lower price ($25,000* vs. Silverado’s $32,000*).

The winner is truly up to you and your particular preference in size and the features that you value the most. Regardless of what you choose, when the time comes to make your purchase on your favorite Chevy vehicle, be sure to do it at Miami Lakes Automall. 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV Review

Monday, December 13th, 2021

New Features

The larger sibling of the Chevrolet Bolt hatchback is finally on the market in the form of a suave and sexy subcompact SUV. This new model obviously provides much more interior space, as well as a style that is more adventurous. Let’s explore all that there is to know about the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV.

Engine and Performance

The EUV crossover only has one powertrain option and that’s an 150-kilowatt permanent magnet electric motor, which gets its juice from a liquid-cooled 65-kWh lithium-ion battery fixed low in the chassis.

It takes 7 hours for this Chevy SUV to fully “refuel” from a  240-volt Level 2 charger, and even longer with the brand’s 120-volt charger used at home. According to the automaker, you can get 4 miles of range within an hour of using the home charger, while

You might prefer to get the available 240-volt DC Fast Charger, which will provide 100 miles of range in about 30 minutes. This will be especially useful during long trips.

Exterior

Aesthetically, the 2022 Bolt EUV mirrors the hatchback EV, but looks are deceiving, as these vehicles don’t share the same mechanical features.

In the front, the raised fascia and reshaped grille of the EUV exude the characteristics of an electric vehicle, while the inclined character lines on the body sides create some charm, giving the impression of motion, even while it’s in park. While this Bolt SUV is a compact, it still looks strong and muscular, particularly due to the short front and rear overhangs, as well as the wheels tuned out wide to the corners.

The front and rear lighting also uses LEDs, while the thin high-fixed headlight strips couple as sequential turn signals. Standard roof rails are augmented by the quasi-SUV feel of the latest Bolt.

Interior

As with the mini Bolt, the larger sibling is plentiful with front headroom and even more so with its backseat, as it has 3 more inches of legroom. Cargo room amounts to 16.3 cubic feet and 56.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

Other improvements for the redesigned Bolt include more comfort, improved seat, and more infotainment options. In regards to the dashboard, there is a revamped 8.0-inch color gauge cluster and a 10.2-inch touchscreen with a more comprehensive interface. On top of this, there is a flat-bottom steering wheel and a new electronic gear shifter with toggles and buttons.

Standards and Options

Standard in-car features include LED front and rear lighting, cruise control, and a dual-level charging cord that hosts charging at home. The automaker backs the standard installation costs of a Level 2 charger compatible at buyers homes.

There is also an impressive suite of safety technologies encompassing automatic emergency braking (with pedestrian detection), lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.

For a little extra doe, buyers can enjoy more conveniences such as a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and Super Cruise, which can be found on the EUV Premiere. Additional options include rear cross-traffic alert and a 360-degree surround-view camera, plus wireless smartphone charging and a 4G WiFi hotspot. You can also order apps like Alexa and Spotify.

Miami Lakes Chevrolet

The Chevrolet Bolt EUV has a starting price of $33,000 (plus destination fee). When the time comes to purchase this SUV, be sure to do it at Miami Lakes Automall. We have a wide range of vehicles from the automaker ranging in different trims and prices.

J.D. Power Esteems The Chevy Tahoe With Its 2022 ALG Residual Value Award

Monday, December 6th, 2021

The Chevrolet Tahoe was acknowledged by American data analytics and consumer intelligence company, J.D.Power in the establishment’s recent U.S. ALG Residual Value Awards for 2022.

In determining the vehicles deemed worthy of acknowledgment for the J.D’s Power Awards, car models looked to have the most potential in holding the highest percentage of their MSRP after three years of ownership are evaluated. These awards were accessed by ALG, a division of J.D. Power.

Chevrolet’s full-size SUV was ranked highest in the Fullsize Utility segment of the recognitions. Other notable competitors include the Subaru Forester in the Compact Utility segment, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer in the Premium Fullsize Utility Segment, and the Ford Bronco in the Off-Road Utility segment.

For the latest 2022 Residual Value Awards, J.D. Power had a total of 284 different models assessed, with 29 individual vehicle segments acknowledged. On top of this, the data analytics company evaluated 16 different brands for awards in either the Mass Market segment or the Premium segment, with the former segment being secured by Honda, and the Lexus getting the win in the latter.

J.D. calls attention to the fact that there are a number of factors to consider when accessing the residual value of a vehicle over a multi-year lease term. A few examples involve mileage, quality and reliability, equipped options, and the broader macroeconomic environment.

“Accurately forecasting residual values in the auto industry is a key factor in assessing an estimated $225 billion lease portfolio of vehicles in the United States,” said vice president of ALG, Eric Lyman. “The brands and vehicle models that rise to the top demonstrate that they score well across the award program’s criteria, including manufacturers’ superior design and quality.”

One should be reminded that the 2022 Chevy Tahoe is in its second model year for the 5th-gen nameplate, derived from General Motors T1 body-on-frame platform. Powertrain options include the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L82 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax. GM’s Arlington assembly plant in Arlington, Texas will host the production of this award-winning SUV, and when the time comes for the car to hit dealers…

The Chevrolet Blazer Is Our Automotive White Night

Monday, November 29th, 2021

The Chevrolet Blazer made its first introduction into the car market in 2018 and proved to be a massive hit among consumers across the globe. In the past two years, the automaker has seen a considerable increase in sales. Issues regarding intense demand in combination with the current global chip shortage, have caused major delays and disruptions regarding supply issues, however, GM China is still promoting new special edition cars, and a new one has just entered the automotive stratosphere.

Chevy’s new mid-size crossover is a newcomer to the Chinese market and is counting on this new exclusive trim, the White Night Edition, to help invite more sales. So far, initial reactions have been positive, but the question is “Is this actually a new trim level or simply an appearance package?”

The upcoming Chevrolet Blazer White Night Edition, which is derived from the RS trim level, made its introduction last week at the 2021 Guangzhou International Motor Show and displayed exceptional exterior styling built around the USDM Midnight Edition package. This new range-topping SUV crossover will only have a traditional seven-seat configuration available. The outer body of the White Night Edition involves a classy black and white color scheme.

The base of the car is smothered in a cool and fresh Pearl White, while the rest of the car encompasses black highlights and fun minute details like blacked-out pillars. The White Night Edition drives on a set of 21-inch black wheels that really helps to bring the whole design together.

The inside of the latest Blazer also collaborates with the RS model and involves red and silver trim details, along with upgraded technologies, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Beneath the hood, you’ll discover GM’s mild-hybrid powertrain which encompasses a turbocharged 2.0-liter LSY four-cylinder engine and an electric motor with a 48-volt battery. The intricate combination of mechanics produces an excellent output of 233 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. All four wheels are powered up through the 9-speed automatic transmission.

General standard one should expect in a base LT Blazer is an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and a Wi-Fit hotspot, dual-zone climate control, an HD backup camera, and the Chevy Safety Assist package, which includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, a following-distance indicator, forward-collision alert, and automatic high-beams.

Optional features on upper trims involve a hands-free power liftgate, an automatic heated steering wheel, and a navigation system.

The White Night Edition is now ready to order with the MSRP of this car amounting to 333,900 CNY ($52,285), including destination fees. Those who prefer their new 2022 Blazer fully loaded should be prepared to spend nearly $60,000, (plus destination fee) in North America.

When the time comes to purchase your spanking new 2022 Chevrolet Blazer, with the White Night Edition or not, be sure to do it at Miami Lakes Automall. We carry a wide range of vehicles from the brand ranging in various shapes and sizes. 5 Sensational Features of The 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe

Thursday, November 11th, 2021

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that SUVs and crossovers have all but taken over the car market, and each year this interest in these types of vehicles grows even more, with the Chevrolet Tahoe serving as one of the main leads in its segment. This full-sized SUV is back for the 2022 model year, and it’s introducing a more powerful engine and a slew of new and exciting features. Here are 5 Sensational Features of The 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe!

Expanded 6.2-Liter V8 Engine

The base engine on the upcoming Tahoe is a 5.3-liter V8, which has an incredible output of 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. Then for daredevils, Chevrolet also provides its Tahoe buyers with the option of a larger 6.2-liter V8 that produces a magnificent 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Even still, the car still manages to get a combined average of 21 mpg.

Transparent Trailer View

Due to the length and weight distribution of a trailer, towing these campers can prove to be quite difficult for driving, and even more so with the blocked view. In the same way as its kinsman, the GMC Sierra, the new Tahoe implements a translucent trailer view system, which ensures that the driver can see through the trailer by the use of attachable cameras. This is together with the 13 available camera views surrounding the vehicles, making dead angles virtually impossible when driving.

Seamless Infotainment System With Google services

The Chevrolet company is very adept in providing advanced in-cabin features, particularly when it comes to infotainment. This is even more expected in its luxury vehicles like the Tahoe. For this model year, this concept is taken even further with its effective stand-alone technology that necessitates very little connection with your phone due to the built-in Google functionality. Some examples include Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play.

Android users will also appreciate the Android Auto systems, which enables one to download his or her apps into the infotainment system, making them accessible through the 10.2-inch touchscreen. This helps to alleviate the distraction of messing with your phone while zooming on the freeway.

Magnetic Ride Control (MRC)

The Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) is an incredibly innovative technology of the automaker. This system adapts the shock-absorbing resistance of the Tahoe to the road condition in real-time. This is contrary to regular mechanical components used in traditional suspension and shock absorbers, the MRC uses monotube dampers full of magnetorheological fluid.

The density of the fluid either increases or decreases according to what is required in the reaction to the wheel forces while driving on various terrains and handled by a set of sensors and an electronic control unit. The MRC is tremendously swift and precise, making driving in any condition stress-free.

8,400-Pound Towing Capacity

The 2022 Tahoe’s 6.2-liter V8 engine isn’t just fast, it’s also quite mighty, with its towing ability amounting to a maximum of 8,400 lbs. A capacity like this, taking long camping trips all summer long will become like second nature.

The 2022 Chevy Blazer: What’s Staying and What’s Going

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021

The 2022 Chevrolet Blazer is marketed as the fourth model year of the revamped mid-size SUV, and brings along several updates and changes.

Model Line

Concerning the model line, the Blazer has seen a reconfiguration with its trim levels, thanks to the elimination of the entry-level L trim and the second-level 1LT model from the lineup. With this in mind, here are the current trims left for our choosing.

  • LT (2LT, 3LT)
  • RS (1RS)
  • Premier (0HD)

Exterior

Looking outward, the upcoming Blazer also retires two exterior color options, together with the addition of two new shades.

New Exterior Colors:

  • Nitro Yellow Metallic
  • Blue Glow Metallic

Deleted Exterior Colors:

  • Bright Blue Metallic
  • Midnight Metallic

What’s more, the addition of the available black two-toned roof is available for certain colors on the LT and RS trims. There’s also a change to the accessibility with some of these colors, such as with Cayenne Orange Metallic, now only available on LT’s.

On top of this, two wheel sets have been removed in favor of three new wheel options.

New Wheels:

  • 20-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels (QH4)
  • 20-inch Medium Android machined-face aluminum wheels (SUU)
  • 20-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels (S1S) (LPO-level item)

Deleted Wheels:

  • 20-inch Medium Android machined face aluminum wheels (Q9Z)
  • Standard on Premier models
  • 20-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels (S2D)
  • LPO-level item available on LT and Premier models

Every Blazer now has available black lug nuts, along with optional ones (not including the RS trim). These optional lug nuts and wheel lock kits are dealer-installed (LPO-level items). RPO codes for the black front and rear bowties are also receiving a change, as the B94 is standing in place of the SFZ.

The Premier trim is also getting a slew of changes, including alterations regarding the treatment of the front and rear lower fascias, wheel moldings, rockers, and wheels.

Interior

Inward, the 2022 Blazer eliminates the floor rail system for the cargo area. This crossover also does away with the LPO-level dealer-installed options mentioned below:

  • Cargo flex divider
  • Premium carpeted floor mats
  • Embroidered front row headrests
  • Rear seat infotainment system without DVD player
  • Rear seat infotainment system with DVD player
  • Keyless entry keypad

At the same time, the six-speaker audio system is now standard on Premier trim, with the Bose premium 8-speaker audio system also a standard feature.

Likewise, the manual tilt and telescoping steering column has also become a standard on Premier models, with a power tilt and telescoping system featured on the 2021 model year.

Mechanical

A few changes have also been made to the Chevy Blazer’s new lineup, beginning with the elimination of the 2.5L LCV 14 motor which acted as the base engine in lesser models, which are also being eliminated (as previously discussed). As a result, the 2.0L LSY Turbo I4 engine will become standard on 2Lt’s and the 3.6L LGX V6 will no longer be featured on this trim.

During which, the trailering equipment package, which comes with Hitch Guidance, has  become a standard feature on AWDs and still remains as an optional tool on FWD models. Remarkably, the ROP code centered on trailering equipment for FWD Blazer’s (VR2) has been dropped. Even though the trailer equipment is available with both engines, it only comes with heavy-duty cooling for models geared with the V6 LGX engine.

There are other minor changes in the content of this package included in each trim level:

  • For 3LT trims: also includes Hitch View when Sound & Technology Package is ordered
  • For RS trims: also includes Hitch View and heavy-duty cooling
  • For Premier trims: also includes Hitch View

Packages

Some packages are getting revamps of their own, such as the Enhanced Convenience becoming available on Premier’s, which is quite a shift considering it just became standard on this trim for the 2021 model year.

Moreover, the Cargo Essentials Package and Interior Luxury Package have been deleted.

Cargo Essentials Package:

Was available on RS and Premier models and included:

  • Cargo tie-downs (LPO-level item)
  • Horizontal cargo net (LPO-level item)
  • For use with floor rail system

Interior Luxury Package:

Was an LPO-level item and included:

  • Illuminated front door sill plates
  • Premium carpeted floor mats for first and second rows

For LT models:

Not available with:

  • Floor Liner Package
  • Interior Protection Package
  • Dark Galvanized/Light Galvanized interiors
  • Replaces standard floor mats
  • For RS and Premier models:
  • Not available with:
  • Floor Liner Package
  • Interior Protection Package
  • Replaces standard floor mats

2022 Chevy Blazer Availability

On August 9th, production of the 2022 Chevy Blazer was set to begin at General Motors Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. Unfortunately, production was brought to a halt on August 23rd, which marked the end of the production of the 2021 model year. We’ve recently learned that the car manufacturer resumed production of the Blazer, along with its Traverse and Buick Enclave, which had been halted again until September 27th.

Unsurprisingly, the ongoing global microchip shortage has resulted in several delays among various automakers, including the Chevrolet company. With this in mind, we expect the 2022 Blazer to reach dealer lots sometime before the end of this year.

Furthermore, it’s expected that the current-gen Blazer will remain in production throughout the 2025 model year, at the very least. After this, it will likely be replaced by its new electric counterpart, as well as many other vehicles in Chevrolet’s lineup.

Chevrolet Picks Up The Pace In The Electrified Race

Tuesday, October 12th, 2021

Automakers near and far are slowly making preparations to redevelop their platforms from gasoline-powered vehicles to those that are either fully electric or hybrids. This is especially so for pickup trucks, with this segment on course to becoming the most popular space for EV models. Some examples include Ford’s F-150 Lighting, Rivian R1T, Tesla’s Cybertruck, and more.

Another automaker throwing its hat into the electric pickup race is General Motors (GM), as they’ve already confirmed the resurgence of its Hummer moniker under the GMC brand, but as a fully electric truck. The main focus on the construction of this vehicle will be its 1,000 horsepower output and “luxury off-roading”, but for buyers who are looking for something a bit simpler and rugged, they can opt for the newly-teased Chevrolet Silverado.

Last week Wednesday, (Oct.6), Chevrolet said that it would introduce the electric version of the Silverado truck at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2022. The event, which is held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada, is one of the world’s prominent industry trade shows. Mary Barra, GM’s CEO is set to make the full reveal of the pickup in January, but in the meantime, here’s what you should know.

First and foremost, the Silverado will be powered by the brand’s new Ultium battery system. These packs will support the company’s next-generation electric models all across its brands, providing energy storage that range from 50 kilowatt-hours to 200 kWh. GM has said before that these batteries will provide “up to 400 miles or more on a full charge”, which mirrors the figure that the Silverado was given. This gives us reason to believe that the pickup’s battery will be the same size as the electrified Hummer.

The Silverado will be produced at GM’s Factory Zero plant by the side of the Hummer EV and the untitled GMC electric pickup.

Another point of interest is the truck’s glass roof. This optional transparent type of ceilings feeds off the recent trend of fixed glass roofs geared on vehicles such as the Tesla Model 3 and Ford Mustang Mach-E. The Hummer EV also sports a congruous “Infinity Roof”, at the same time, the Silverado’s roof will be mounted rather than removable like the Hummer’s top-frame.

In August, GM announced that the Silverado EV will involve a set of kicks going up as far as 24-inches, which is the largest pair of wheels that has ever been offered on a pickup from Factory Zero. This vehicle will also encompass available four-wheel steering, which in the same way as the electric Hummer’s system, can aid in maneuvering its way in tight spaces by lessening the turning radius and possibly even positioning the truck diagonally.

Mark Reuss, president of General Motors, made his expectations clear during a recent press call that its target customers for the battery-powered version of the Silverado will contrast from conventional pickup buyers. This would make sense as to why the company chose the CES to showcase the truck as opposed to a standalone event, but it may also indicate that what GM anticipates the truck market to evolve into as it transitions even more towards a luxury segment while keeping a considerable amount of utility. The carmaker also revealed the availability of a fleet version, which essentially is the draft horse within the lineup and usually has the groundwork as the retail model, just more centered on functionality and not so much about interior opulence.

GM still has more in store with its Silverado, some that we’ll have to wait a little longer for. However, with recent revelations relating to the company’s semi-autonomous driving functions, the pickup may be likely to become a knockout with future pickup buyers. Be on the lookout in January for the unveiling of the truck at the CES, and in the meantime…

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Dare To Indulge You Just A Bit More

Tuesday, October 5th, 2021

The Chevrolet company is preparing to revamp their Tahoe and Suburban SUVs for their 2022 model, but don’t worry, they aren’t throwing out the baby with the bath water. Instead, the automaker is simply making their formula more agreeable to a larger crowd, and they’re doing this by making their 6.2-L V8 engine more available. While this motor was previously reserved as the standard engine on the top-ranking High Country trim, and not even an option on the others, it’s now being unlocked on the RST, Z71, and Premier levels. Now more buyers will get to enjoy a thrilling ride with the powertrains output of 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Last month (September 10th), we discussed that this engine might require additional options, with the exclusion of the Premier. The Premier model with the V8 motor has a standalone option. At the same time, RST buyers will need to get the Sport Performance Package, while buyers of the Z71 will have to get either the Z71 Off-Road Package or mixture of packages such as Off-Road Performance, Off-Road Capability, Max Trailering, and Luxury.

On the Z71 trim, the new electronic limited-slip differential is included in the Off-Road Performance Package, which results in better responsiveness from the rear wheels while driving when the roads are slippery. Those who opt for this package also means that they’ll get the Max Trailering and Luxury Packages too.

The availability of other two engine options in the lineup don’t change, specifically the 5.3-liter V8 with 355 hp and 383 lb-ft, and the 3.0-liter diesel with 277 hp and 460 lb-ft.

Inhouse, beginning with the LT model and up, the gauge cluster expands to a fully digital 12-3 inch display with four preset configurations. Google Automotive has been implemented into the vehicle systems for better integration of particular apps and services. This involves voice commands, which means without plugging in his or her phone, passengers can use Google Assistnt’s voice control to make changes, such as with the stereo volume, the radio stations, or the climate control. The 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen is brought over, but it will show up to 13 different camera angles when matched with a trailer that it’s compatible with, and a suitable Trailering package. If connected, these images include a a rear trailer view, picture-in-picture side view, and the scene inside a trailer

As part of the brand’s Safety Assist Suite, all trims are geared with Front and Rear Park Assist and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. It also comes with five surplus driver assist technologies, and even Buckle to Drive. There are five new designs available on particular trims, while each Tahoe and Suburban have three new colors for buyers to select from: Auburn Metallic, Dark Ash Metallic, and Evergreen Gray Metallic.

It’s worth noting that ordering some of these options might be contingent on the current happenings regarding the chip shortage, possibly having you faced with either lessening some items off your shopping list or just being patient. The 2022 Tahoe and Suburban will begin their production at General Motors Arlington, Texas facility in October, with pricing being announced at a later date.

The 2022 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Set The Standard For Full-Size SUVs

Friday, September 10th, 2021

New Features For 2022

As with many automakers, the Chevrolet company performed a few nips and tucks on their new vehicles, particularly the upcoming Tahoe SUV and its extended Suburban sibling. Improvements that have been made the inside (all but base LS model) include a new 12-inch digital gauge display fenced in by a conventional analog tacho- and speedometer. These trims also receive a standard navigation system from the 10.2-inch central infotainment touchscreen. Additional standard features include Lane-Keeping Assist and parking sensors. At the same time, Reverse Automatic Braking is included in the high-ranking trims’ Enhanced Display and Alert package. Lastly, the 6.2-liter V8 option stretches to the ZR1, RST and Premier models, but with the exclusion of the Premier, you’ll need to select one or more packages.

Size Increase and Cargo Capacity

Last year, parent company, General Motors gave their full-size SUVs a complete revamp after nearly thirty years. These enhancements included a highly-anticipated switch to the independent rear suspension, which in turn allowed for extra interior space and cargo capacity. The 2022 Tahoe increased its overall length by 6.7 inches, along with 4.9 inches of its wheelbase. Meanwhile, the Suburban added 1.3 inches to its length and an incredible 4.1 inches to its wheelbase.

The Tahoe’s interior gains 3 inches of legroom in the second row, and a surplus of 10.1 inches in the third row partly due to the lower floor. The Surban also increases its space by a bit over 2 inches of legroom in each row.

Cargo space also made great improvements. In the Tahoe SUV, cargo measurements have increased by 10.2 cubic feet (specifically 25.5 cubes), while the Suburban increased its space by 2.2 cubic feet (overall 41.5 cubes).

Performance and Towing Specifications

There are three different engine types to pick for the 2022 Tahoe and Suburban. The entry-level motor is a naturally aspirated 5.3-liter V8, which has an output of 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. It’s matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission and has an available rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or four-wheel-drive (4WD).

Optional on the Z71, RST, Premier and High Country models is another naturally aspirated V8, but a 6.2-liter. It musters up 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. As with the 5.3-liter, it includes the same type of automatic and drive systems.

Additionally, the automaker is offering a unique diesel 3.0-liter inline-six engine, which is only one like in its class. It has an output of 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, and also shares the 10-speed automatic.

Towing capacities range from 7,500 and 8,000 lbs subject to body style, engine, and drivetrain. The tow package also increases capacity with each model, but only by a small margin.

Available Features

Basic gear that you’ll find in the beloved Chevrolet SUVs are the 5.3-liter V8, engine and transmission coolers, and a limited-slip differential. External features involve 18-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, running boards, rear parking sensors, LED headlights and remote start. Internal gadgets encompass three-zone climate control, eight-way power driver seat and six-way power passenger seat, the 10-inch infotainment screen, 4.2-inch screen in the instrument cluster, a six-speaker sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, driver assist features.

On higher trims, like the Z71, drivers get to revel in the charming and exclusive front fascia and bumper, which provides the car with a more aggressive appearance. It also includes hill-descent control, 20-inch wheels, all-terrain tires and a skid plate. Then, the luxurious High Country comes with the 6.2-liter V8, magnetic and air suspension, 22-inch wheels, 360-degree cameras, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and lane keep assist, rear camera mirror, leather heated and cooled front seats, heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats, power-folding rear seats, a large instrument panel screen and head-up display, 10-speaker Bose sound system, and wireless phone charging.

On top of this, there are optional towing assist on both SUVs, which have cameras that have up to nine different views for maneuvering and monitoring one’s trailer. They are standard with a trailer guidance feature along with a rear-view camera. There’s even an app on the infotainment system that allows users to store information about their trailer and perform various checks as they hook up the motor home.

Safety and Driver Assist Features

At last, the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban advocate for safety as they provide owners with an array of technologies, such as the standard automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, front and rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and a rear-seat reminder. Optional technologies (standard on higher trims) include reverse automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors and adaptive cruise control.

Top 5 Road Trip Features On The 2021 Chevy Suburban

Friday, September 3rd, 2021

Just because the kids are going back to school doesn’t mean that you have to end your summer fun, especially for those of you who are “working from home”. The 2021 Chevrolet Suburban is the perfect full-sized SUV for your road-trippin’ excursions. It’s filled with plenty of features that are guaranteed to augment your getaway experience such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Zero Gravity Seats, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and much more. Here are the Top 5 Road Trip Features On The 2021 Chevy Suburban.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

The High Country trim is best of the best on the 2021 Suburban SUV, and with it includes the brand’s Infotainment 3 system paired with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It allows users to make use of features like Waze and Spotify, as well as make phone calls and send text messages. Wireless support is very convenient on longer trips where drivers may switch seats while taking turns driving. The system is also user-friendly and hardly distracting while your hands are on the wheel.

4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot

Nowadays, having poor cell service or lack of Wi-Fi is almost considered to be on the same level as losing an arm, you just can’t function without it. Luckily, all models on the Chevy Suburban include 4G LTE integration with in-vehicle, ensuring that you and your passengers are always connected. Owners also get to take advantage of the 1-month trial, which involves 3BG of data, and can even opt for an additional plan after this trial ends.

You don’t have to worry about hearing “Are we there yet?” one too many times, as kids and teens will be able to stay in touch with friends or see what’s trending on TikTok without having to use their data.

Heated and Ventilated Seats

Third on our list are 12-way power front seats with available heated and ventilated functionality. This feature is perfect either for those living in warmer climates like Florida or cooler areas like Colorado. You don’t have to worry about making various pit stops to avoid harsh temperatures, because this tool keeps front seat passengers comfortable no matter what condition. Additionally, High Country models also offers this technology for seats in the second row.

Backup and Rearview Mirror Camera

It’s safe to say that back up cameras are considered to be a common feature in most new vehicles, however, the Chevy company does it right by inputting a surround view system, which is especially helpful when maneuvering in tight parking spots or avoiding pedestrians. Other camera angles allow one to see the SUV sky-high or how close they are to a curb.

As usual, the High Country trim cranks up the heat by switching to video display by flipping the mirror up, in which you’ll see a live feed from the back of you. It allows drivers to see a clear view of traffic behind them while the trunk is stuffed with suitcases.

Lots of Charging Ports

Having LTE Wi-Fi isn’t the only way to stay connected. The 2021 Suburban is loaded with charging ports, with access provided in the front and second row. More specifically, front row occupants have access to USB ports on both sides and a wireless charger. Meanwhile, second-row and even third row passengers include USB-C chargers.
