What to Expect from Chevrolet in 2022

Friday, April 15th, 2022

Chevrolet will be bringing a host of updates to its lineup for the new model year. These updates will consist of minor and major changes that consumers will be sure to enjoy. The updates revolve around both exterior and interior changes. As of late, Chevrolet has been focusing on producing electric vehicles. The all-electric Chevy Bolt has proven quite successful, but Chevrolet wants to produce even more. The latest of these new electric vehicles is the Chevy Silverado EV and the Chevy Equinox EV. Both have been teased, but not much information is available yet. For now, Chevrolet is focusing on improving its combustion engine lineup. We’ll dive into some of the expected changes and updates.

2022 Chevy Silverado

One of the vehicles receiving a major update is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado. Starting at an MSRP of $33,800 (plus destination fee), the pickup will be getting a new refresh. This will update its trims with a single-bar grille as well as a lowered hood and lower LED headlights. The pickup truck will also get a new 355 horsepower 5.3L V8 engine that comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This will replace the base V6 engine.

The 2022 Silverado will also receive a new 13.4-inch touchscreen and electronic gear shifter. For the ZR2 crew cab model, owners will note new position-sensitive shocks, front and rear electronic locking differentials, 33-inch mud-terrain tires, red tow hooks, skid plates, and a steel front bumper. The 2022 Silverado will also receive new driver-assist features like automatic emergency braking, active lane control, and a rearview camera mirror.

2022 Chevy Equinox

Next on the list is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The compact SUV starts at an MSRP of $25,800 (plus destination fee). It will receive new front and rear fascias, a slimmer grille, and new LED headlights and taillights. Chevy will also be dropping the turbo-4 engine from the base trim. The SUV will now feature a 170-horsepower turbo-4 engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. There’s still the choice for either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, however. The RS trim will feature black 19-inch wheels, black exterior elements, and a black interior with red stitching.

2022 Chevy Colorado

The 2022 Chevrolet Colorado will also receive some updates, although only minor. Starting at an MSRP of $25,435 (plus destination fee), the midsize pickup truck will see a new Trail Boss package. This package will feature a 1-inch suspension lift, front and mid skid plates, red tow hooks, 17-inch black wheels, and all-terrain tires. The ZR2 trim will also feature a higher 2-inch suspension lift. It will also see a 3.5-inch wider track, 17-inch aluminum wheels, front and rear electronic differentials, adaptive dampers, and heated front seats.

2022 Chevy Corvette

Everyone’s favorite sports car will be getting a powerful new engine for the 2022 model year. Starting at an MSRP of $60,900 (plus destination fee), the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette will be receiving a new 5.5L V8 engine capable of 670 horsepower and 460lb-ft of torque. This will be one of the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engines to come to the Corvette. It’s reported to be capable of hitting a 0-60 mph time of 2.6 seconds.

2022 Chevy Blazer

Last on the list is the 2022 Chevrolet Blazer. Starting at an MSRP of $33,400 (plus destination fee), the midsize SUV will receive new front and rear styling along with new LED light signatures. The 2022 Blazer will also get a new 10-inch touchscreen. Additional updates include adaptive cruise control and wireless smartphone charging.

The 2023 Chevy Blazer: Refreshed With Better Tech

Monday, February 7th, 2022

2023 Chevy Blazer

The Chevrolet Blazer crossover has been gussied up for 2023. This up-to-the-minute SUV brings on some minute alterations that make a considerable difference. New changes include touched-up exterior styling, a new infotainment screen, updated wheel designs, and added goodies for the newest model year. These developments make more improvements on a nearly perfect product.

Externally, the funky and fresh Blazer gets the special treatment with a new front fascia and grille. The LED headlights have been tweaked and made over. There are new daytime running lamps that make use of the same lighting technology, and the taillights are a fresh feature too.

Chevy even offers a new list of available wheel sizes: 18-, 20-, and 21-inches. Potential buyers also have a new selection of paint colors, such as Fountain Blue, Sterling Gray Metallic, Copper Bronze Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat.

From the inside, drivers and passengers are treated like kings, as the cabin has a new touchscreen infotainment display that measures out to an expansive 10 inches. This display serves as a standard on each and every model, it’s also considered to be an impressive upgrade from 2021’s 8-inch screen. New 2023 Blazer also gets a standard wireless charging pad for mobile devices, while RS’s also get a new interior hue dubbed Nightshift Blue.

Blazer shoppers have four trim levels to choose from: 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier. An all-wheel-drive (AWD) system can be had on LT’s and Premier models, though a more developed twin-clutch AWD system is offered on RS models. Chevy also puts your safety first by expanding adaptive cruise control on lesser trims. There are also a great number of standard driver-assist features such as lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, and forward collision alert.

Regarding what’s beneath the hood, there aren’t too many details. Two engines are offered, with the base being a 228-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo-four, while the 3.6-liter V6 speeds up to 308 horsepower. The V6 is reserved for the RS model but is available for 3LTs and Premieres. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Since its recent inception, the Blazer crossover has been regarded as a fashion staple in the automotive industry, voguing it out with rivals like the Ford Edge and Nissan Murano. It’s also quite versatile, with the 2023 model serving 30.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seats and 64.2 cubic feet with the 2nd-row seats folded.

At the current moment, we do not know the exact pricing for this vehicle. If all goes well, meaning that Chevy doesn’t face production delays or more hiccups from the ongoing semiconductor shortage, the 2023 Blazer should be heading to dealerships this summer.

The Latest Scoop On The 2022 Chevrolet Blazer

2024 Chevy Blazer EV

The Chevrolet Blazer crossover is one of the most attractive SUVs in its segment, and perhaps in the car industry. The reason is likely that it borrows design elements from its cousin, the Camaro sports car. While it doesn’t embody the same rugged formation as the original, that hasn’t affected its ability to seduce new buyers.

For all that, there are some that wonder whether the current model will mirror the same impact with its electric version. General Motors Chair and CEO, Mary Bara, revealed at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) that the Blazer’s internal combustion engine would soon retire, and in its place would be an electric powertrain for the 2024 model year, the same ringing true for the Equinox model.

While the company didn’t show any teaser images for the upcoming electric midsize SUV, it did however give us a sneak peek of the Equinox EV. In fact, car site, CarBuzz, used the Equinox teaser images to serve as inspiration for what they think the 2024 Blazer might look like.

They added on charming design elements such as a full-width LED light bar with headlight clusters that fence off the core unique design piece. They also incorporated a ridged grille panel, a two-toned roof, and large wheels. Then, they added an adaptive version of the Equinox EV’s lighting grille, which joins each side of the vehicle at the same time a roof spoiler and roof rails are also included. There are even ultra-modern flush door handles that also correspond with the Chevrolet design style.

Overall, there is an expectation that the automaker won’t veer off from its usual design cues for the upcoming Blazer. Rather, it’s probable that Chevrolet will take on their traditional styling elements while maintaining the feel of the current SUV design.

One should expect to see the sustainable 2024 Chevrolet Blazer in the spring of 2023 to complement other chargeable offerings like the Silverado EV. When General Motors revealed its new replacement for the Blazer at this year’s CES, they only divulged the expected reveal date and that it would be derived from the company’s Ultium platform.

Seeing that the tri-motor configuration supporting the GMC Hummer EV is currently only made for large vehicles, we’re guessing that the Blazer will inhabit single- and dual-motor options, with the second possibly offering an output of over 580 horsepower.

Several trims will also be offered, with one of them likely being an RS model, with some crossing their fingers that it will have more power and handling than other Chevy models, rather than just good looks. Regarding the base-level trim, it’s likely that it will be priced around $35,000, (plus destination fee), as the company is aiming to make electrics more affordable.

2022 Chevy Blazer Given ‘Recommended’ Rating by Consumer Reports

Friday, December 10th, 2021

The 2022 Chevy Blazer was recently given a ‘Recommended’ rating from the non-profit organization Consumer Reports. The non-profit dedicates itself to independent product testing and consumer-oriented research. Last year, Consumer Reports gave the 2021 Chevy Blazer a negative rating and advised consumers to avoid the midsize SUV. It seems Chevrolet listened to consumer complaints and drastically improved the Chevy Blazer as Consumer Reports ranked the SUV third in its midsize SUV segment. We’ll take a look at some of the changes Chevy made to the Blazer as well as what metrics Consumer Reports used for their rating.

2022 Chevy Blazer Recommended

The Chevy Blazer was reintroduced in 2019 as an all-new midsize crossover. The 2022 Blazer comes as a fifth-generation vehicle and as such, Chevrolet made sure to provide consumers with the latest in technology and driver-assist features. The 2022 Chevy Blazer comes equipped with either a 2.0L four-cylinder engine capable of 228 horsepower and 258lb-ft of torque, or a naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 engine capable of 308 horsepower and 270lb-ft of torque. The midsize SUV rides on the GM C1 platform and comes equipped with advanced safety features like forward-collision warnings and automatic emergency braking.

According to Consumer Reports, the 2022 Chevy Blazer scored an overall score of 82, placing the midsize SUV within the top three of the organization’s Midsize Sport-utility Vehicle segment. On the road test, the Blazer scored 83 out of 100. For predicted reliability, the Blazer scored four out of five. For predicted owner satisfaction, Consumer Reports gave the SUV three out of five. Safety features were ranked standard and fuel economy was rated at 13 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg overall.

Consumer Reports praised the 2022 Chevy Blazer for its powertrain and drivetrain. The midsize SUV had more than adequate acceleration and braking. It also had a very responsive transmission as handling was precise and nimble. Inside the cabin, Consumer Reports noted that owners will enjoy a quiet and comfortable interior. As for criticisms, Consumer Reports stated that visibility was poor at times given the structure of the vehicle. Overall, it seems the 2022 Chevy Blazer is better than it’s ever been. The midsize SUV offers smooth driving, precise handling, and it comes equipped with the latest safety and driver-assist features. The 2022 Chevy Blazer starts at an MSRP of $33,400 (plus destination fee).

The Chevrolet Blazer Is Our Automotive White Night

Monday, November 29th, 2021

The Chevrolet Blazer made its first introduction into the car market in 2018 and proved to be a massive hit among consumers across the globe. In the past two years, the automaker has seen a considerable increase in sales. Issues regarding intense demand in combination with the current global chip shortage, have caused major delays and disruptions regarding supply issues, however, GM China is still promoting new special edition cars, and a new one has just entered the automotive stratosphere.

Chevy’s new mid-size crossover is a newcomer to the Chinese market and is counting on this new exclusive trim, the White Night Edition, to help invite more sales. So far, initial reactions have been positive, but the question is “Is this actually a new trim level or simply an appearance package?”

The upcoming Chevrolet Blazer White Night Edition, which is derived from the RS trim level, made its introduction last week at the 2021 Guangzhou International Motor Show and displayed exceptional exterior styling built around the USDM Midnight Edition package. This new range-topping SUV crossover will only have a traditional seven-seat configuration available. The outer body of the White Night Edition involves a classy black and white color scheme.

The base of the car is smothered in a cool and fresh Pearl White, while the rest of the car encompasses black highlights and fun minute details like blacked-out pillars. The White Night Edition drives on a set of 21-inch black wheels that really helps to bring the whole design together.

The inside of the latest Blazer also collaborates with the RS model and involves red and silver trim details, along with upgraded technologies, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Beneath the hood, you’ll discover GM’s mild-hybrid powertrain which encompasses a turbocharged 2.0-liter LSY four-cylinder engine and an electric motor with a 48-volt battery. The intricate combination of mechanics produces an excellent output of 233 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. All four wheels are powered up through the 9-speed automatic transmission.

General standard one should expect in a base LT Blazer is an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and a Wi-Fit hotspot, dual-zone climate control, an HD backup camera, and the Chevy Safety Assist package, which includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, a following-distance indicator, forward-collision alert, and automatic high-beams.

Optional features on upper trims involve a hands-free power liftgate, an automatic heated steering wheel, and a navigation system.

The White Night Edition is now ready to order with the MSRP of this car amounting to 333,900 CNY ($52,285), including destination fees. Those who prefer their new 2022 Blazer fully loaded should be prepared to spend nearly $60,000, (plus destination fee) in North America.

When the time comes to purchase your spanking new 2022 Chevrolet Blazer, with the White Night Edition or not, be sure to do it at Miami Lakes Automall. We carry a wide range of vehicles from the brand ranging in various shapes and sizes. GM Files New Trademark Application for Grand Blazer

Thursday, September 2nd, 2021

General Motors has been stirring up excitement lately with a new trademark application filed in Argentina. It has many speculating as to whether GM will undergo a larger Chevy Grand Blazer or whether it will make an exclusive vehicle for the Southern American country. Chevrolet has been making headlines with its new all-electric 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 which it hopes will compete with Ford’s F-150 Lightning. A Chevy Grand Blazer could compete with Ford’s Bronco as well, so this may be a good opportunity for the automaker. Recently, Chevy has been updating its vehicles like the 2022 Chevy Tahoe and 2022 Chevy Suburban with new off-road packages and safety features as seen with the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer. Chevrolet has a chance to create more enthusiasm with this new trademark, but we’ll have to wait for more information to determine the route GM will take.

Is There a New Chevy Blazer in the Works?

General Motors recently filed a new trademark application in Argentina for the name “Grand Blazer.” This has raised interest as some have speculated that a Chevy Blazer that returns to its rugged roots could be in the works. The current crossover Chevy Blazer provides good performance and handling, but it isn’t a true off-road vehicle like the original. If Chevrolet has plans for a more rugged Chevy Blazer, it could do well in the off-road sphere against vehicles like the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler.

Chevrolet submitted their new trademark application with the Argentina National Institute of Industrial Property. There weren’t too many details included in the application aside from the “Grand Blazer” title. This doesn’t leave much to go off of, but typically “Grand” implies a larger or more luxurious vehicle. The flip side is that GM isn’t doing much with the new trademark, which would be a little disappointingly but somewhat understandable. The Chevrolet Grand Blazer title has been used in Southern American markets as a rebadged version of the Chevrolet Tahoe up until about 2019 so a Chevrolet Grand Blazer could be made exclusively for this Southern market. Countries like Argentina, Brazil, and Venezuela have enjoyed these vehicles before so they may be getting a new one. This is plausible as GM did file the application in Argentina, but we’ll have to see.

One more theory about the new trademark application is a new three-row version of the Chevy Blazer. This three-row version is currently sold exclusively in China. The US has a Chevy Blazer with only two rows of seats so the Grand title could add additional room. Whichever direction GM takes, it will have an impact on competitors and potentially entice new consumers.
