When someone goes to buy a new vehicle, they hope to drive away in something sharp and distinctive. For those that are looking for a crossover SUV that will get a reaction, the return of the Chevrolet Blazer is ideal for drivers to make an impression. Not seen since 2008, the Chevy Blazer, this new Blazer does not quite resemble the prior Blazer. The 2019 Chevrolet Blazer is the fourth SUV in the Chevy line-up, including the modest-sized Chevy Trax, Chevy Equinox, slightly smaller than the Blazer, and the largest entry, is the bold Chevrolet Traverse. So, among the latest Chevrolet line-up, what helps the Blazer stand out?
“The Blazer has attitude,” says John Cafaro, executive director of global Chevrolet design.
Attitude With a Capital A
Thanks to a potent 2.5-Liter Ecotec inline-four powertrain with a nine-speed automatic transmission, the Chevrolet Blazer reminds drivers every day what a crossover SUV is capable of. Should that 193 horsepower, 188 lb-ft of torque engine not satisfy, owners can opt for the larger 3.6-Liter V6 Pentastar. The V6 is included in the Premier trim boasting 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The V6 engine is the standard powertrain with the RS and Premier trim and is available as an option for the Base and L trim. Owners gain a combined 29 mpg, which helps make the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer a good choice for owners who are wary of fuel economy.
Other Perks of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer
With the all-new 2019 Blazer, gain the latest MyLink system with an infotainment system. This system comprises of an 8-inch touchscreen, high-quality Bose audio with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. The 2019 Chevrolet Blazer contains front and all-wheel-drive versions. This is a strong vehicle that carries a maximum towing rating of 4,500-pounds with the V6 engine. Drivers will love the sleek look and power. The Chevrolet Camaro helped create what Chevrolet presented in this all-new creation of the Blazer. Best of all, it isn’t that expensive!

Something special is coming soon to the SUV market, the return of the Chevrolet Blazer. Chevy is making waves with the reincarnation of one of their best-selling vehicles. This time the Blazer will be a completely reimagined vehicle. The new vehicle will hit the crossover and SUV market with a fresh take.
The last time the Chevy Blazer was around, it ran from 2001-2008 as a mid-size, body-on-frame SUV. Chevrolet is banking that no one will mind that this new Chevrolet Blazer doesn’t resemble the previous Blazer. The new model will make the fourth Chevrolet SUV in their line-up including the small Trax, Equinox, newly announced Blazer, and the largest entry, the Traverse.
New Chevy Blazer Features
The unibody platform is new and is based off the same one used for the GMC Acadia. There will be three trim levels from the base model, to the sporty RS and finally the top-tier Premier trim. The Premier is luxurious and carries the trusted 3.6-Liter V6 Pentastar engine that provides 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The entry powertrain is a 2.5-Liter four-cylinder with 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. The nine-speed transmission is equipped for both engines.
The 2019 Chevrolet Blazer will have both front and all-wheel-drive versions. The 4,500-pound towing capacity comes with the larger engine. Drivers will love the sleek look and power, with the Chevrolet Camaro serving as an influence. The Blazer carries a large grille, tall hood, narrow headlights and sculpted sheet metal. The cabin comes with round air vents inside the vehicle, dual-zone climate controls are standard with a panoramic roof and hands-free power liftgate are optional for the Blazer.

Good news for fans of the Chevy Blazer. It’s back, and this time, a sporty crossover rendition of the vehicle will be making its debut. The Chevy Blazer has been out of production since 2005, but we’ve got some of the leaked information about the new Chevy Blazer here.
What Does This New Blazer Offer?
The next Blazer will be far different from the last time we saw the Chevrolet off-road vehicle, more than a decade ago. The original Blazer was introduced by Chevy in 1969 and competed with it’s then rival, the Ford Bronco. Since then, there have been some impressive changes to the vehicle, such as putting the nameplate on a new crossover instead of its previously known full-size Blazer body-type. Instead of honing in on the SUV look though, the new Chevy Blazer has a sleek design both inside and out that will bolster the Chevy crossover lineup.
“Chevrolet has been at the forefront of each of the major automotive industry trends by anticipating consumer demand and delivering innovative products like Bolt EV, Colorado, and Trax…The introduction of the all-new Blazer builds on that momentum and further strengthens the most comprehensive lineup of crossovers and SUVs on the market today.” – said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and head of Global Chevrolet.
More Blazer Features
Built with a 2.5-Liter four-cylinder engine or an optional 3.6-Liter V6 engine, each Blazer will be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The 2.5-Liter engine will provide drivers with up to 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. The optional 3.6-Liter V6 will provide 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Seems like the modern Blazer will be a powerful entry yet again.
Owners will have the option of having either front-wheel-drive or an advanced twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system, and have their choice of 20-inch or 21-inch wheels. The interior is also getting an upgrade with some fancy tech. A hitch view camera, hands-free power liftgate, and remote start button will be features of the 2019 Chevy Blazer.
Designed with two rows of seating, additional features will infuse some luxurious style and technology into the crossover. Picture an automatic heated steering wheel, leather seating, and front seats that automatically provide heating or ventilation depending on the automatic temperature control system. There’s also an electronic locking glove box for keeping valuables secure. Driving and total comfort have been merged for this vehicle that is expected to be ready to purchase in early 2019, according to Chevy.

There has been plenty of news in the automotive world surrounding automakers bringing back old names. For example, it looks like Dodge is bringing back the Barracuda name and Ford may be bringing back the Bronco and Ranger and now it looks like Chevy may do the same!
In 2019, Chevy has plans to bring the Blazer name for a new midsize SUV and there are spied shots of the SUV on the internet. Based on the photos and industry rumors it appears this SUV will be built off the C1XX platform, the same as GM’s Cadillac XT5, Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia. Spied shots show the Chevy Blazer looking like a two-row, five-seater SUV perfect for small families. (more…)
