Don’t let the fear of an uncharged battery be the reason why you don’t own a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) or an electric vehicles (EV) made by Chevrolet. Miami Lakes and has plenty of locations for charging EVs and PHEVs. Whether driving the 2017 Chevy Volt or the Chevy Spark EV, or waiting for the all-new 2017 Chevy Bolt EV to be released, Miami Lakes has you covered and Miami will keep you charged. Check out the local charging stations.

For starters, Miami Lakes has two of its own charging stations for use by customers for free. We will also be getting two more charging stations when our new Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram building is complete this winter. Located at the Miami Lakes Chevy building is a Voltec Level 2 charger located just inside the service entrance mounted on interior southern wall. There is also free WiFi available and Chevy Volts and ELRs have charging priority. The charging station is not accessible after business hours. Chevy Adds Diesel Option on 2018 Chevy Equinox

Coming in early 2017 is the new 2018 Chevy Equinox, which will be lighter and available with an all-new diesel engine – the first diesel on a CUV in the U.S. Check out what changes are coming to the 2018 Chevy Equinox

Engines

The 2018 Equinox lineup will be available with three different turbocharged engines, including the 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, a 2.0-liter turbo engine, and an all-new 1.6-liter turbodiesel engine. The new diesel engine is expected to produce 136 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque and  GM says the diesel engine will have a fuel economy of 40 mpg on the highway.

All-New Interior and Exterior

What other changes are being made to the 2018 Chevy Equinox? So far we know the exterior and interior have both gone through a major redesign. The body is four inches shorter and the entire vehicle is 400 pounds lighter, yet somehow Chevy managed to add 3.5 cubic feet of cargo space inside the vehicle. Read the rest of this entry >>

Chevy Bolt EV Exceeds Range of Tesla Model 3 by 25 miles

Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular each year and one American automaker isn’t shying away from the new technology. Though Chevy is well-known for their powerful trucks and performance cars, they are embracing electric vehicles in a powerful way. Chevy already has a few hybrids under its belt, but in late 2016, Chevy will release its all-new 2017 Chevy Bolt, a revolutionary electric vehicle (EV). The 2017 Chevy Bolt will be one of the most affordable EVs and it will offer the best all-electric range of 238 miles, beating out competitors like Tesla.  

2017 Chevy Bolt

The 2017 Chevy Bolt is a mix of new and standard technology features. It is equipped with a 200-horsepower electric motor, a nickel-rich lithium ion battery and the Chevy Bolt has a sleek style inside and out. Car and Driver has predicted that once the Bolt is released, it will jump to the number one spot on their list of electric vehicles.

238-Mile Battery Range

As mentioned earlier, the Chevy Bolt has an EPA-certified range of 238 miles when the 60 kWh lithium-ion battery is fully charged. That means that the Chevy Bolt’s electric distance is better than the 215-mile electric range that Tesla models and the future Tesla Model 3 offer. 

With a 240-volt outlet, the battery charges 25 miles every hour, and it is estimated to be fully charged in 9 hours. This may seem like a long time, but if you plug the car in after work and unplug before work the next day it will be fully charged many days of use — impressive! Read the rest of this entry >>
