The 2023 Chevy Blazer: Refreshed With Better Tech

2023 Chevy Blazer

The Chevrolet Blazer crossover has been gussied up for 2023. This up-to-the-minute SUV brings on some minute alterations that make a considerable difference. New changes include touched-up exterior styling, a new infotainment screen, updated wheel designs, and added goodies for the newest model year. These developments make more improvements on a nearly perfect product.

Externally, the funky and fresh Blazer gets the special treatment with a new front fascia and grille. The LED headlights have been tweaked and made over. There are new daytime running lamps that make use of the same lighting technology, and the taillights are a fresh feature too.

Chevy even offers a new list of available wheel sizes: 18-, 20-, and 21-inches. Potential buyers also have a new selection of paint colors, such as Fountain Blue, Sterling Gray Metallic, Copper Bronze Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat.

From the inside, drivers and passengers are treated like kings, as the cabin has a new touchscreen infotainment display that measures out to an expansive 10 inches. This display serves as a standard on each and every model, it’s also considered to be an impressive upgrade from 2021’s 8-inch screen. New 2023 Blazer also gets a standard wireless charging pad for mobile devices, while RS’s also get a new interior hue dubbed Nightshift Blue.

Blazer shoppers have four trim levels to choose from: 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier. An all-wheel-drive (AWD) system can be had on LT’s and Premier models, though a more developed twin-clutch AWD system is offered on RS models. Chevy also puts your safety first by expanding adaptive cruise control on lesser trims. There are also a great number of standard driver-assist features such as lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, and forward collision alert.

Regarding what’s beneath the hood, there aren’t too many details. Two engines are offered, with the base being a 228-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo-four, while the 3.6-liter V6 speeds up to 308 horsepower. The V6 is reserved for the RS model but is available for 3LTs and Premieres. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Since its recent inception, the Blazer crossover has been regarded as a fashion staple in the automotive industry, voguing it out with rivals like the Ford Edge and Nissan Murano. It’s also quite versatile, with the 2023 model serving 30.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seats and 64.2 cubic feet with the 2nd-row seats folded.

At the current moment, we do not know the exact pricing for this vehicle. If all goes well, meaning that Chevy doesn’t face production delays or more hiccups from the ongoing semiconductor shortage, the 2023 Blazer should be heading to dealerships this summer.

The Latest Scoop On The 2022 Chevrolet Blazer

2024 Chevy Blazer EV

The Chevrolet Blazer crossover is one of the most attractive SUVs in its segment, and perhaps in the car industry. The reason is likely that it borrows design elements from its cousin, the Camaro sports car. While it doesn’t embody the same rugged formation as the original, that hasn’t affected its ability to seduce new buyers.

For all that, there are some that wonder whether the current model will mirror the same impact with its electric version. General Motors Chair and CEO, Mary Bara, revealed at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) that the Blazer’s internal combustion engine would soon retire, and in its place would be an electric powertrain for the 2024 model year, the same ringing true for the Equinox model.

While the company didn’t show any teaser images for the upcoming electric midsize SUV, it did however give us a sneak peek of the Equinox EV. In fact, car site, CarBuzz, used the Equinox teaser images to serve as inspiration for what they think the 2024 Blazer might look like.

They added on charming design elements such as a full-width LED light bar with headlight clusters that fence off the core unique design piece. They also incorporated a ridged grille panel, a two-toned roof, and large wheels. Then, they added an adaptive version of the Equinox EV’s lighting grille, which joins each side of the vehicle at the same time a roof spoiler and roof rails are also included. There are even ultra-modern flush door handles that also correspond with the Chevrolet design style.

Overall, there is an expectation that the automaker won’t veer off from its usual design cues for the upcoming Blazer. Rather, it’s probable that Chevrolet will take on their traditional styling elements while maintaining the feel of the current SUV design.

One should expect to see the sustainable 2024 Chevrolet Blazer in the spring of 2023 to complement other chargeable offerings like the Silverado EV. When General Motors revealed its new replacement for the Blazer at this year’s CES, they only divulged the expected reveal date and that it would be derived from the company’s Ultium platform.

Seeing that the tri-motor configuration supporting the GMC Hummer EV is currently only made for large vehicles, we’re guessing that the Blazer will inhabit single- and dual-motor options, with the second possibly offering an output of over 580 horsepower.

Several trims will also be offered, with one of them likely being an RS model, with some crossing their fingers that it will have more power and handling than other Chevy models, rather than just good looks. Regarding the base-level trim, it’s likely that it will be priced around $35,000, (plus destination fee), as the company is aiming to make electrics more affordable.

Newly Unveiled Chevy Silverado EV Sells Out Almost Immediately

Chevrolet recently unveiled its first electric vehicle, the Silverado EV. The all-new all-electric pickup had a stunning debut given the hype and excitement surrounding Chevy’s first EV pickup. The EV pickup was revealed at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). There, fans and consumers got to get a firsthand look at Chevrolet’s Silverado EV. Chevy stated that there would be several trim levels coming, but for now, the Silverado EV launches as the RST First Edition. The price is a bit steep, but given the listed features and capabilities, the Silverado EV will easily compete with others like the F-150 Lightning. Many others seem to believe this as well given that the pickup sold out according to General Motor’s CEO Mary Barra. We’ll dive in further, but this is great news for Chevrolet.

Silverado EV Sold Out?

Chevrolet recently unveiled their all-new all-electric Silverado EV. The electric pickup was well received at the 2022 CES show. It was even more well-received when it opened for reservations. According to the GM CEO Mary Barra, the Silverado EV RST First Edition sold out almost immediately. Now, we’re not one to really cast doubt or suspicion, but one detail missing from the aforementioned statement is just how many First Edition pickups were made available. A common issue with reservation orders is that there are several details that can inflate the end number. One of these is the initial deposit needed to reserve the vehicle. Another is the fact that some consumers may cancel their reservations ahead of time. For the Silverado EV, many buyers only needed to put down $100 to make their reservation.

The Silverado EV RST First Edition starts at a hefty MSRP, $105,000 (plus destination fee). Chevrolet has yet to state exactly how many Silverado EVs it plans to build, but if the automaker is facing supply issues due to the global chip shortage, this number may be on the lower side. Regardless, the electric pickup looks fantastic. Chevrolet released a list of features and details so consumers can know what to expect. All Silverado EV trims will feature standard DC fast charging at up to 350 kWh.

The Silverado EV is expected to arrive in the fall of 2023. General Motors has confirmed that the RST trim will have 400 miles of range. Along with an exceptional mile range, the EV pickup will feature automatic adaptive air suspension, four-wheel steering, a multi-flex tailgate, and a 17-in LCD. The Silverado EV will be capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds with 1,300 pounds of payload. The RST trim will feature an optional wide open watts mode which can deliver 664 horsepower and 780lb-ft of torque. It’s clear Chevy did their best to equip the Silverado EV with the most powerful equipment and features. We’ll have to wait for more details, but according to Chevy, there will be other trims available some time in 2024 including a Work Truck trim that will start at $39,900 (plus destination fee).

The Chevrolet Blazer Is Our Automotive White Night

The Chevrolet Blazer made its first introduction into the car market in 2018 and proved to be a massive hit among consumers across the globe. In the past two years, the automaker has seen a considerable increase in sales. Issues regarding intense demand in combination with the current global chip shortage, have caused major delays and disruptions regarding supply issues, however, GM China is still promoting new special edition cars, and a new one has just entered the automotive stratosphere.

Chevy’s new mid-size crossover is a newcomer to the Chinese market and is counting on this new exclusive trim, the White Night Edition, to help invite more sales. So far, initial reactions have been positive, but the question is “Is this actually a new trim level or simply an appearance package?”

The upcoming Chevrolet Blazer White Night Edition, which is derived from the RS trim level, made its introduction last week at the 2021 Guangzhou International Motor Show and displayed exceptional exterior styling built around the USDM Midnight Edition package. This new range-topping SUV crossover will only have a traditional seven-seat configuration available. The outer body of the White Night Edition involves a classy black and white color scheme.

The base of the car is smothered in a cool and fresh Pearl White, while the rest of the car encompasses black highlights and fun minute details like blacked-out pillars. The White Night Edition drives on a set of 21-inch black wheels that really helps to bring the whole design together.

The inside of the latest Blazer also collaborates with the RS model and involves red and silver trim details, along with upgraded technologies, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Beneath the hood, you’ll discover GM’s mild-hybrid powertrain which encompasses a turbocharged 2.0-liter LSY four-cylinder engine and an electric motor with a 48-volt battery. The intricate combination of mechanics produces an excellent output of 233 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. All four wheels are powered up through the 9-speed automatic transmission.

General standard one should expect in a base LT Blazer is an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and a Wi-Fit hotspot, dual-zone climate control, an HD backup camera, and the Chevy Safety Assist package, which includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, a following-distance indicator, forward-collision alert, and automatic high-beams.

Optional features on upper trims involve a hands-free power liftgate, an automatic heated steering wheel, and a navigation system.

The White Night Edition is now ready to order with the MSRP of this car amounting to 333,900 CNY ($52,285), including destination fees. Those who prefer their new 2022 Blazer fully loaded should be prepared to spend nearly $60,000, (plus destination fee) in North America.

Chevrolet Debuts its 650-Horsepower Beast

Chevrolet showcased one of its off-road concepts at the 2021 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Named the Beast, this four-door pickup looked mighty and rugged. It’s based on the Chevy Silverado but it comes in much more powerful and capable than the average pickup. Equipped with a V8 engine that’s capable of 650 horsepower, Chevy’s new Beast is sure to pose a threat to the competition. This concept pickup utilizes the same engine as the Corvette so you know it’s got some great specs. We’ll dive deeper into the concept vehicle and see what Chevy’s got in store for those looking for one beast of a pickup.

Chevy Debuts Beast Off-Road Concept

Chevrolet recently debuted its Beast off-road concept pickup at the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The domineering pickup looked quite impressive with its 37-inch mud-terrain tires. Mounted inside of these huge tires were 20-inch beadlock wheels. As for the engine, the Beast pickup utilizes a supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 engine that’s capable of 650 horsepower. The engine comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed transfer case. This concept pickup also comes equipped with Brembo brakes.

The Beast pickup is based on the Chevy Silverado. It is a four-door truck with two spare tires in the bed. The concept pickup stands tall and empowered with its 126.9-inch wheelbase and 13.5 inches of ground clearance. The pickup is almost an oversized version of the Silverado as it comes in almost 10 inches wider than the standard Silverado. For this feat, the name Beast is quite appropriate. In addition to its large stature, the concept pickup comes equipped with LED lights, skid plates, and an off-road suspension setup. Control arms come installed in the front along with adjustable dampers with external reservoirs. At the back of the vehicle is a live axle.

Riding inside this beast of a pickup, drivers will note two 7-inch LCD screen monitors. These provide real-time performance data about the pickup like pitch and roll. For safety, drivers can buckle themselves in with a four-point harness while sitting in the Recaro performance seats. Chevy really went all out with this concept pickup. Its large exterior makes it reminiscent of a video game and perhaps that’s where the inspiration came from. Drivers will certainly feel like the main character as they traverse the toughest of terrains. We’ll have to wait for more information but for the ultimate off-road enthusiast, the Chevy Beast looks unchallenged.

Chevy Corvette Sees Impressive Q3 Sales, Ranks First Among Premium Sports Cars

The Chevy Corvette recently enjoyed impressive third quarter (Q3) sales in the United States. The luxury sports car managed to surpass its previous Q3 sales by about 60 percent. Chevrolet is certainly enjoying the increased popularity as its Corvette model ranked higher than competitors by huge margins. The automaker has been turning its focus on electric vehicles lately, a move many other automakers have seemed to attempt. Chevrolet has teased its all-new all-electric Chevy Silverado and they have also hinted at a potential new electric sedan that may or may not replace the Camaro. It’s always a positive when an automaker can capitalize on its current lineup while continuing to meet consumers’ demands and interests. Electric vehicles have become a hot topic as of late given the climate crisis, but as seen with the Corvette’s sales numbers, it seems some folks are still looking to drive high-performance sports cars.

Chevy Corvette Sees Increased Sales Overall

The Chevy Corvette saw delivery numbers totaling 10,166 units in Q3 of 2021. This was an increase of 59.97 percent compared to the 6,355 units sold in Q3 of 2020. As for the entire year, the premium sports car saw sales increase about 96 percent to 24,748, compared to 12,634 the previous year. This increase was seen mainly in the first nine months of the year. These numbers allowed the Corvette to become the best-selling model in its class. Following the Corvette was the Porsche 911, then the Porsche 718, and after that came the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT in fourth. Overall, the Corvette managed to outsell all its rivals.

Corvette sales for the year included all Corvette body styles, variants, trim levels, and packages. In each quarter of 2021, the Corvette managed to post strong numbers. During each of its quarters, the Corvette accounted for at least 51 percent of the segment share. It should be noted that many competitors in the segment cost significantly more than the Corvette (the C8 starts at a base price of $58,900 [plus destination fee]). This may explain why rival sales numbers were as low as they were. Still, the Corvette managed to solidify its status as a desirable sports car.

Given the strong sales numbers, it’s clear the Corvette C8 line has more room for growth. Higher-performance variants are still on the way. Some of these include the C8 ZO6, C8 E-Ray, C8 ZR1, and the C9 Zora. The C8 Z06 will be the first variant to launch for the 2023 Corvette model year. As these variants continue to release, it’s expected that Chevy will see even greater sales numbers for its sports car. As long as production at the GM Bowling Green plant and the GM Tonawanda Engine plant continues without pause, Chevy should continue to see its Corvette reign at the top of the sports cars sales list.

Chevrolet Picks Up The Pace In The Electrified Race

Automakers near and far are slowly making preparations to redevelop their platforms from gasoline-powered vehicles to those that are either fully electric or hybrids. This is especially so for pickup trucks, with this segment on course to becoming the most popular space for EV models. Some examples include Ford’s F-150 Lighting, Rivian R1T, Tesla’s Cybertruck, and more.

Another automaker throwing its hat into the electric pickup race is General Motors (GM), as they’ve already confirmed the resurgence of its Hummer moniker under the GMC brand, but as a fully electric truck. The main focus on the construction of this vehicle will be its 1,000 horsepower output and “luxury off-roading”, but for buyers who are looking for something a bit simpler and rugged, they can opt for the newly-teased Chevrolet Silverado.

Last week Wednesday, (Oct.6), Chevrolet said that it would introduce the electric version of the Silverado truck at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2022. The event, which is held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada, is one of the world’s prominent industry trade shows. Mary Barra, GM’s CEO is set to make the full reveal of the pickup in January, but in the meantime, here’s what you should know.

First and foremost, the Silverado will be powered by the brand’s new Ultium battery system. These packs will support the company’s next-generation electric models all across its brands, providing energy storage that range from 50 kilowatt-hours to 200 kWh. GM has said before that these batteries will provide “up to 400 miles or more on a full charge”, which mirrors the figure that the Silverado was given. This gives us reason to believe that the pickup’s battery will be the same size as the electrified Hummer.

The Silverado will be produced at GM’s Factory Zero plant by the side of the Hummer EV and the untitled GMC electric pickup.

Another point of interest is the truck’s glass roof. This optional transparent type of ceilings feeds off the recent trend of fixed glass roofs geared on vehicles such as the Tesla Model 3 and Ford Mustang Mach-E. The Hummer EV also sports a congruous “Infinity Roof”, at the same time, the Silverado’s roof will be mounted rather than removable like the Hummer’s top-frame.

In August, GM announced that the Silverado EV will involve a set of kicks going up as far as 24-inches, which is the largest pair of wheels that has ever been offered on a pickup from Factory Zero. This vehicle will also encompass available four-wheel steering, which in the same way as the electric Hummer’s system, can aid in maneuvering its way in tight spaces by lessening the turning radius and possibly even positioning the truck diagonally.

Mark Reuss, president of General Motors, made his expectations clear during a recent press call that its target customers for the battery-powered version of the Silverado will contrast from conventional pickup buyers. This would make sense as to why the company chose the CES to showcase the truck as opposed to a standalone event, but it may also indicate that what GM anticipates the truck market to evolve into as it transitions even more towards a luxury segment while keeping a considerable amount of utility. The carmaker also revealed the availability of a fleet version, which essentially is the draft horse within the lineup and usually has the groundwork as the retail model, just more centered on functionality and not so much about interior opulence.

GM still has more in store with its Silverado, some that we’ll have to wait a little longer for. However, with recent revelations relating to the company’s semi-autonomous driving functions, the pickup may be likely to become a knockout with future pickup buyers. Be on the lookout in January for the unveiling of the truck at the CES, and in the meantime…

Chevrolet to Retire the Camaro With Final Collector’s Edition Package

Chevrolet will be retiring the iconic Camaro. Rumors of the pony car’s inevitable demise have been floating around for a while, but Chevrolet confirmed that the Camaro will see one final Collector’s Edition Package sometime in 2024. Chevrolet has not said anything about the Camaro nameplate and whether it will continue to be used with future iterations, but there has been some talk of a potential electric sedan replacing the Camaro. This would be in line with Chevy working toward its own electric vehicles like the all-electric Chevy Silverado. Whether this electric sedan would mirror the Camaro however is still up for debate, but we’ll need more information from Chevrolet before speculating too much. For now, all we know is that the Chevy Camaro will not be around much longer.

Chevy Camaro to be Retired

The Chevrolet Camaro has been an iconic muscle car that has spurred hype and excitement for powerful sedans. Sadly, like most things that era will have to come to an end. According to a report from Muscle Cars & Trucks, Chevy will retire the pony car in the 2024 model year. The automaker will release a Collector’s Edition package for the muscle car but no variants or Z/28 trims will come available. Fans wishing to get the latest Camaro before its final end will have to look out for the final edition as Chevy will only build 2,000 of them. Some good news however is that customers will be able to purchase trimmings for the LT, SS, and ZL1 models.

The Collector’s Edition Package for the Chevy Camaro will be the final iteration of the Camaro. Camaro fans will still have plenty of gear options like stripes and unique badges, but the muscle car comes in limited availability. Another note about the Collector’s Edition Package Camaro is that it will come available with a yellow exterior color. Naturally, a paint job can be considered, but for fans hoping for different colors, there won’t be so much luck. Still, one last chance to purchase a Camaro is better than none. We’ll have to see what Chevy does in the future, but it looks like a sendoff will be in order. And as previously mentioned, Chevy hasn’t said much about the Camaro’s end, but they did mention work on an electric sedan. That may be the only hope Camaro fans have left for a return of the muscle car, but chances are that nothing will beat out the original.

General Motors Will Showcase Its “Legacy” At This Month’s Motor Bella Auto Show

Motor Bella Auto Show

This month, from September 21st through September 26th, the Motor Bella outdoor auto show will be held at the M1 Concourse circuit in Pontiac, Michigan. General Motors will be among other automakers showcasing its new 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup.

The Detroit Dealers Association helped to put together this experimental event after downtown Detroit’s annual North American International Auto Show had to come to a halt because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. According to the Association, this show will have over 400 vehicles on display, ride-and-drive amenities, and the showcasing of next-generation car technologies.

Onlookers will have the opportunity to see conventional auto show exhibitions, together with ride-along events and even charity vehicle giveaways.

At the General Motors booth during the event, attendees will see a “showcase the company’s rich motorsports legacy,” as said by the show’s organizers, indicating that the car maker will feature its previous race cars that were deemed successful during their prime, and maybe even race cars of today, such as the favored Corvette C8.R and Cadillac DPi-V.R. Resting at the site of the motorsports display will be the electric products of the current day as well as the future. These products will also involve the 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup. Additionally, the manufacturer will conduct a media luncheon and panel discussion, with the topic based on legacy, and the future of racing and motorsports within the company.

Moreover, the Lost Corvettes will have 6,000-square-foot of dedicated space at the Motor Bella show. It’s here where 12 reconditioned classic Corvette cars, which are model years ranging from 1953 to 1989, will be presented.
