What We Know about 2019 Chevy Silverado

The all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado was introduced at an event

We don’t have to speculate much on any rumors concerning the upcoming 2019 Chevy Silverado, the newest pick-up from Chevy. To celebrate over 100 years of Chevy trucks, a helicopter brought the new 2019 Chevy Silverado to the Texas Motor Speedway during the Chevy Truck Centennial event. The truck is to officially debut next month at the North American International Auto Show.

The 2019 Silverado will be available in eight trims and there will be various engine/transmission options to choose from, providing more options than before. Chevy has also acknowledged they’ll vamp up their technology, offer additional convenience features and improve on the previous year.

Rumors have it that the 2019 Silverado will offer more engine and transmission options, like the new 10-speed automatic currently found in the 2018 Tahoe and Suburban with the 6.2-liter L86 V-8 with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Speculation is that there will also be a range of diesels available.

Speculation as to the materials used that make up the truck’s bed is unknown, but those details on the Silverado’s specifics, including weight savings from the previous year will be available in January 2018. Some rumors are that the bed will be lined with some new carbon fiber composite. Time will tell, but we’ll know soon.

Woman Wins Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Stingray

Stingray Winner - Chevy Dealership

A woman named Wendy Smith recently ended up with her very own 2014 Corvette Stingray, but she didn’t get it from a Chevy dealership. Check out this great story of how it came to be hers.

Through the years, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has earned quite a reputation for paying it forward. He’s carried on his family’s legacy by raising money for the Earnhardt Foundation to help those who are struggling, particularly children.

Earnhardt has also always had a passion for Corvettes, stemming from his time racing in them with his father.

So it’s not surprising that one of his most recent charity efforts involved the raffling off of his 2014 Corvette Stingray. Each ticket cost $25, and the proceeds went to the fund in his family name.

8,888 tickets were sold, paying tribute to the number 88 car that Earnhardt Jr. races. The winner was blown away by her luck, but most felt like no one could have deserved it more.

The 1955 Chevy Nomad Revisited

1955 Chevy Nomad-Chevy Dealership

Many people remember the original Nomad wagon as one of the most classic American models because it was so sharp looking.

Production of Nomads began in 1955 when Chevys got a whole new look. They received an extreme styling treatment and came packed with the latest in luxury.

They had interior carpet, chrome trim, and full wheel covers. Nomads were considered ultra modern and gave America a whole new understanding of what a wagon could look like.

Chevy also changed what a car could feel like with the introduction of an all-new engine in ’55. The 265-cubic inch V8 furnished 162 horsepower.

With the combo of its chic appearance and pleasing performance, the Nomad became a very popular choice for consumers.

Chevrolet Reveals New SS Pace Car

While Chevrolet is known for producing some high-performing vehicles with some powerful engines, the types of vehicles you can buy at a Chevy dealership have nothing on the types of vehicles you will find on the race track. It’s there you can see the full potential power of the Chevy brand.

Now, Chevrolet is ready to debut a new SS pace car at the “Crown Royal Presents the John Wayne Walding 400 at the Brickyard Powered by BigMachineRecords.com.” (That’s a mouthful for an event title!)

Chris Pratt, the star of the upcoming movie “Guardians of the Galaxy” and the hit TV show “Parks and Recreation,” will be driving the new car at the event. Pratt will only be an honorary driver participating in pre-race activities. He will not actually be competing in the race.
