Everything There Is To Know About The 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe RST Performance Edition

An SUV is now one of the most sought-after vehicles in the car industry, and automakers worldwide are responding, especially GM’s Chevrolet subsidiary. This full-size model produces an energetic 433 hp and 467 lb-ft of torque. Historically a best-selling three-row vehicle, the Performance Edition package, paired with a regular 2023 Tahoe RST, is an absolute gem to drive. Here are all the things you should know.

Blistering Speed

Timing at zero to 60 mph in 5.78 seconds, the RST Performance Edition can reach a quarter-mile time of 14.2 seconds at 97 mph and a maximum speed of 124 mph, making it the fastest 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe model that one can get.

To compare, the entry-level RST gets to 60 mph in 5.95 seconds and has a maximum speed of 112 mph, which is 12 less mph than the Performance Edition.

Brembo Braking

Considering just how swiftly the Tahoe RST Performance Edition can zip and zoom, the automaker thought it was necessary to supply it with larger Brembo brakes to make it compatible with that amount of power and speed.

The Performance Edition’s Brembo brakes are 25 percent larger than the ones in the base RST. On top of this, the car manufacturer refined the brake pedal to ensure that this Performance model stops quicker and safer than the current Tahoe.

Considerably Rewrought Suspension

The RST Performance Edition wouldn’t be the same without a reconditioned suspension. The automaker provided this model with significant fine-tuning with many chassis and suspension components from the Tahoe PPV (Police Pursuit Vehicle) package, with a mountain of its undercurrents fine-tuned by the same engineering unit, which elevated the springs, dampers, and anti-roll bar.

The company also lowered the ride height by 0.4 inches in the front and 0.8 inches at the rear. This way, the vehicle can stay firmly planted on the road.

Towing Power of 7,600 Pounds

Shoppers looking for a lean, mean hauling machine can rest easy with the Tahoe RST Performance Edition. As with the RST geared with the 6.2-liter V8 engine and four-wheel-drive (4WD) system, the Performance model has a towing power of up to 7,600 pounds, which is considered an impressive feat for a full-size SUV.

Should one’s application require a higher tow rating, it’s a good idea to consider Tahoe’s equipped with the 5.3-liter V8 engine, NHT Max Trailering package, and rear-wheel drive (RWD), as this combination provides 8,400 pounds of towing capacity.

Upscale Interior and Comforts

While the mechanical underpinnings are indeed fantastic, so is the interior. This model invites passengers with prime materials for the utmost comfort. The brand’s Luxury Package is typically priced at $3,025, but it serves as a standard for the Performance Edition. It has a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats, power-folding third-row seats, memory settings for the seats, tiller, and side mirrors. A 10.2-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot are standard conveniences.

Buyers will also be pleased with the generous cargo space, as this athletic SUV has up to 123 cubic feet of carrying capacity when the third and second rows are folded down.

The 2024 Chevy Trax Is A Beacon Of Hope For Budget-Conscious SUV Shoppers

General Motors has revealed a freshened-up version of its 2024 Chevrolet Trax, which is slightly bigger and remains the most affordable base-level SUV of its lineup. This new subcompact is much more sophisticated and sleek than the other chunky monkey SUVs it’s competing against. It also tacks on new features.

The only major thing this automaker has dropped from this SUV is its price, as the starting price comes out to $21,500 (plus destination fee), which is a couple hundred below the cost of the current Trax SUV. All versions of this vehicle, including the high-end RS models, will come out with figures below $25,000, according to executives from GM. This is considered dirt cheap nowadays, as the average price for a vehicle today is nearly $47,000 (plus destination fee).

According to Edmunds, there has been a spike in affordable SUVs, those with prices close to the upcoming Chevy model

While the North American car market has moved significantly towards SUVs, these vehicles still have a higher price tag than regular cars. That’s why compacts like the Trax are perfect for car shoppers who need extra storage space and a high seating position without paying a hefty price.

The reveal of the newest Trax SUV comes just weeks after the company presented the $30,000 (plus destination fee) Chevrolet Equinox EV. This electric SUV will be one of the most affordable SUVs on the market, which according to company executives, serve as proof that GM’s Chevrolet brand aims to bear its position at the cost-effective bottom end of the car market, even as other competitors offer base models for a significantly higher cost.

The 2024 Trax will get its gears going thanks to a 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine, which will produce 137 horsepower and will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It will also come solely with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) system.

GM’s scheme of bringing in two budget-friendly SUVs in this segment is comparable to other car companies, like Hyundai with its FWD Venue or even the slightly more expensive AWD Kona.

The Trax and Trailblazer share several inner workings, which include the 3-cylinder engine. Both SUVs will be produced at the same South Korean GM factory. The Trax is a bit longer and lower. It measures 11 inches longer and nearly two inches wider than the current Trax. It can also be had in available RS versions with snazzier design features, such as unique wheels and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. There are additional design elements and other added features, such as heated front seats, but performance is relatively the same as the other Trax models.

The automaker also glories in the Trax’s optional features like active cruise control, which automatically keeps a safe distance from other cars on the highway, a system one would typically find on more expensive vehicles. Active noise cancellation will also serve as a standard on every Trax SUV. This feature implements inaudible sound waves made possible by the vehicle’s stereo speakers that offset some noises like those from the tires and engine.

The 2024 Chevrolet Trax will be on sale in the spring of 2023. When the time comes to purchase this model, be sure to do it at Miami Lakes Automall. We sell a wide variety of vehicles from this brand that ranges in different shapes and sizes.

The Marvelous History Of The Chevy Z06 Corvette

The iconic Chevrolet Corvette has gone through many changes and iterations over the years. Fans of the brand are likely more familiar with the upcoming mid-engine 2023 Z06, but its origins actually date back to 1962. Let’s explore just how far this exotic vehicle has come.

The Original 1963 Corvette Z06

Zora Arkus-Duntov is considered one of the greats in automotive history for his cultivation of the sporty Corvette of 1963. The Belgian-born American engineer was a racing enthusiast, and he believed that General Motors (GM) selling point was an optional package for Corvette lovers in the racing industry. This fostered the then unfamiliar RPO (Regular Production Option) box on the vehicle’s order sheet.

Nearly all of these coupes were powered by a 360-hp 327-cubic-inch V-8, four-speed manual transmission, and Positraction rear axle. The Z06 package could be had with a larger 36.5-gallon fiberglass fuel tank that made way for longer track sessions, leading to monikers such as “tanker” and “big tank.”

The 2001 Corvette Z06

By the time C3 or C4 generations of the Corvette came about, Z06-badged models were non-existent. To be frank, Chevy didn’t even bother to produce another Z06 nearly 40 years after the 1963 introduction. Fortunately, the company eventually decided to bring back the race-inspired car for the Corvette C5, in 2001. It followed a similar style to the OG Z06 by making performance the ultimate priority, even becoming one of the first production cars to lap the esteemed Nürburgring track in less than 8 minutes.

The 2006 Corvette Z07

Once lovers of the Corvette got the chance to experience the ultimate thrill of the C5 Z06, Chevy followed it up with something far more exhilarating. In 2006, the Z07 cranked up its track capability, while also giving it a special aluminum frame that the company claimed was 136 pounds lighter than the steel structure on the traditional version. It also had an upmarket 505-hp 7.0-liter V-8 LS7 engine. During this time, the LS7 was the most powerful Corvette ever produced and implemented technology from the corporating racing program.

The 2015 Corvette Z06

When the fourth version of the Z06 came into fruition in 2015, it came packing heat with a hellish 650-hp supercharged 6.2-liter V-8. The C7 also had many firsts, which included an available automatic transmission, along with a targa top and convertible body styles.

2023 Z06 Corvette Zenith

Saving the best for last is of course the 2023 mid-engine Corvette Z06. Clearly, the most fantastical Vette in the history of Vettes is powered by a naturally aspirated flat-plane-crank 5.5-liter V-8, exceeding its predecessors with 670 horsepower.

This special Corvette has been augmented for track duties like its forefathers. The 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels (with optional carbon-fiber versions) and a slew of chassis advances are intended to help this sports god get every minute second that it can from every lap, even more so when the more intense Z07 track package, that comes with added aerodynamics, higher spring rates, carbon-ceramic rotors, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, are blended into the Vette’s engine configuration.

Everything You Need To Know About The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD Trucks

Chevy is bringing out the big guns with its Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD pickup trucks for the 2024 model year. These revamped models will be receiving new aesthetic adjustments, a swankier interior design, and some adjustments to the mighty machinery.

New Engine Setup

While the refinement of Chevy’s interior helps makes the cabin maintain a clean and fresh look after getting down and dirty with the exterior, what really matters is how well tweaks are made to the engine. The standard powertrain is a 6.6-liter V-8, which is the same thunderous 401 horsepowered machine with 464 lb-ft of torque. Only now it’s matching it with a 10-speed automatic transmission rather than a 6-speed automatic.

Then, there’s the optional Duramax diesel 6.6-liter V-8, which continues its partnership with the same Allison 10-speed automatic, however, its output has gotten a considerable increase with 470 horsepower (vs 445) and 975 lb-ft of torque (vs 910). The company says that these figures were increased due to the control architecture, combustion system, and turbocharger.

Reworked Interior and Clever Technologies

For the 2024 model, the supersize me Silverados are all flaunting new styles, starting even from the base-level Work Truck. The LTZ and High Country trims get a newly refreshed grille and C-shaped lighting features, as well as new dual-projector headlights with animated sequences activated when the driver either walks away or approaches the vehicle. The automaker also gears the upcoming Silverado with new wheel options that include chrome 20-inch wheels for the LTZ, along with lustrous 18-inch wheels and all-terrain tires assigned to the dual-rear-axle 3500HD. On top of this, certain packages feature a set of 20-inch off-road booties. The blacked-out Midnight Edition can also be had (for the first time) as an option of the High Country.

These updated HDs tack on a new dashboard design with grand digital displays, while the revised layout and technological features are nowhere to be found on the Work Truck or Custom trim levels, the LTs and up offer this as a standard. This setup involves a changeable 12.3-inch gauge cluster and a 13.4-inch touchscreen with Google-derived software and apps. The new cabin also brings along an updated center console with a wireless charger and extra space for the cupholders. The top-tier Silverados encompass real leather-wrapped surfaces and authentic wood accents. Distinctively in the High Country, there is a  new Nightshift Blue interior option involving all of the high-ranking materials.

This truck also includes several driver assists such as adaptive cruise control that aids in pulling a trailer, along with a blind-spot monitor that has a new extended range for trailering. There is even a new alert that lets drivers know if they exceed the HD’s GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating).

Miami Lakes Chevrolet

The 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD are set to go on sale during the half of next year. Chevrolet says that pricing will be revealed closer to the on-sale date.

When the time comes to purchase either one of these vehicles, be sure to do it at Miami Lakes Automall. If you find something that suits your liking, feel free to chat with one of our representatives for further information.

The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV Provides A Satisfying Round Off To GM’s Portfolio

2024 Equinox EV

It’s safe to say that 2022 has been an electrifying year for Chevrolet, General Motors (GM) subsidiary. After parading around a slew of electric vehicles such as the Silverado EV and Blazer EV this year, the rollouts continue with the all-new 2024 Equinox EV; an affordable SUV made to provide an easy and seamless transition to an electric vehicle.

“We are at a turning point where EVs will be the mainstream choice for the next generation of customers, and Equinox EV will lead this charge for us,” said Mary Barra, Chair and CEO of General Motors. “With the flexibility of GM’s Ultium Platform, we are bringing to market vehicles at nearly every price point and for every purpose.”

The base Equinox EV 1LT, with a starting price of about $30,000 (plus destination fee), brings this Chevy model into the compact SUV segment and is expected to be the most inexpensive EV in this category. It should conclude the most important segments of the company’s EV portfolio: full-size trucks, midsize SUVs, and compact SUVs. It will also have an estimated 300 miles of range on a full charge.

Chevrolet is now positioned to offer a wide array of EVs,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet. “We know truck and SUV customers better than anyone, and we’ve channeled that insight and experience into our new EVs.”

On top of the Ultium-derived propulsion technologies, interior features consist of a large infotainment screen w/ an available 17.7-inch-diagonal system, a suite of standard and available driver assistance technologies, and available Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology for compatible roads.

“The Equinox EV is an EV for everyone,” said Bell. “It’s an affordable game-changer, offering an uncompromising experience, with more features that won’t change your daily routine — except that you will no longer have to stop at the gas station.”

Super Cruise Technology

GM’s hands-free, semi-autonomous Super Cruise driving assistant made its first introduction in the now-retired Cadillac CT6 luxury sedan and has slowly made its way to particular models in the automaker’s portfolio, such as the Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Silverado, Chevy Bolt EUV and GMC Sierra. Many of GM’s next-gen electrics also involve the Super Cruise technology, including the all-new 2024 Equinox.

The Equinox EV will offer the Super Cruise as an option in the 2LT trim and above. This means those opting for the base 1LT will not get access to the Super Cruise system. Overall, 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trim levels, together with the sport-themed 2RS and 3RS, are among the trims offered for this new SUV.

The Super Cruise technology necessitates an active plan or trial, which begins at $25 per month as a standalone. The subscription for the Super Cruise can also be tacked onto specific OnStar plans for an extra $15 per month. This technology, also called an SAE Level 2 semi-autonomous system, permits hands-free driving on over 200,000 miles of North American and Canadian highways deemed compatible. This technology can also enable auto-lane changes and is harmonious with a trailer on certain GM vehicles.

The exact details and ordering for the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will be available closer to the beginning of production, which is set to take place at the General Motors Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. When the time comes to make your purchase of their latest EV iteration, be sure to do it at Miami Lakes Automall. We sell a wide variety of vehicles from the brand that range in several different shapes and sizes.

5 The Reasons Why The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Is A Sports Car Enthusiast’s Dream

The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is arguably the most exhilarating sports car since its first inception. Lovers of this muscle car and car enthusiasts in the same vein will have several reasons to brag about the latest Vette model. Here are 5 The Reasons Why The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Is A Sports Car Enthusiast’s Dream.

Sensational and Powerful Styling

With every iteration, the Vette car has evolved its style, with the Chevy C8 proving to be no exception. Typically, supercar fans only care about the design and performance of the vehicle, and there’s certainly no dismissing the aesthetically pleasing and awestruck the Z06 truly is.

The performance of the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 is just as memorizing. The most aerodynamic model to come off of the Chevrolet production line. Its exceptionally arresting alloy wheels, rear lights, and particularly the rear spoiler are by far spotlight features of the outer body. Simultaneously, the vehicle’s angular curves make it an event in and of itself.

The Sharpest Handling

The newly standard Corvette is an extraordinary mechanical being, but the Z06 cranks it up several notches with awe-inspiring styling and handling that will exceed your expectations. This incredible machine has a track-centered suspension configuration and a chassis that finally measures up to its monstrous sibling.

With the help of its Z07 package, the mid-engine C8 Z06 flaunts nearly 30 percent higher ride frequencies. Likely one of the best features in this highly supported Corvette model is the participation of a helper spring in the latest C8 Z06, which enables the coil spring to go for a full rebound while doing away with any wheel travel leading up to it.

The Energetic Naturally-Aspirated V8 Engine

Seeing how gas-powered staples are slowly making their way towards retirement and any new performance-centered vehicle arriving at dealerships involves some sort of electrification or turbocharged engines, General Motors made the decision to make its Z06 car the flag carrier of unrestricted V8 power by decking it out with the most ferocious naturally-aspirated V8 ever produced.

The C8 Z06 Unparalleled Acceleration

The almighty Chevy Corvette Z06 brings out the most powerful output of 670 horsepower with 460 lb-ft of torque. The naturally-aspirated 5.5-liter V8 powertrain harmonizes with sophisticated tech to produce exceptional power, all of which pushes the Corvette from 0 to 60 mph in only 2.6 seconds.

This fantastic acceleration time puts this iconic vehicle into the circle of today’s best supercars, such as the Ferrari F8 Tributo, the Huracan Evo, and the Audi R8. In fact, the Z06 actually topples these vehicles in the 0-60 department, as their figures amount to  2.9s, 2.9s, and 3.1s respectively.

More Affordable And Reliable Than Most Supercars

The Chevy Corvette has also been seen as an inexpensive American super god, and that’s one of the best USPs (unique selling proposition) the vehicle has always had over its rein.

For a sports car, at $106,395, (plus destination fee), the Corvette is considered to be one of the most affordable vehicles in its segment, and this is also considering how well it outranks European rivals in its performance.

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Has More Power, Comfort, and Technologies

The Chevrolet Colorado is doing great things for 2023. This midsize pickup recently made its debut and displays various shapes both inside and out, which is especially important as it faces off with other competitors in its segment like Ford, Toyota, and GMC. Here are all of the things to look forward to with the new Colorado.

One Engine and Three Outputs

Shoppers who are looking to purchase the latest Colorado when it goes on sale during the first half of 2023 will have five different trim levels to choose from: The base Work Truck (WT), Colorado LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2.

All of these trucks will share the same engine, a 2.4-liter turbocharged 14 motor matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Despite this, there are three different outputs depending on the trim. The base 2.7L Turbo produces an output of 237 hp with 259 lb-ft of torque, the 2.7L Turbo Plus produces 310 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, and the 2.7L Turbo High-Output 310 with 430 lb-ft of torque.

Additionally, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) is standard on WT and LT trims, while the Z71 and ZR2 models come with four-wheel-drive (4WD).

Beautified Interior

The Colorado’s cabin has received an update from the humpty dumpty box that it previously had, to one that is fresh and happening. According to Chevrolet, there are four new interior schemes, which on some trims, involve wrapped and stitched knee pads on the doors and center console. Other models receive a clean contrast stitching with different choices of cloth and leather upholstery. Then, for the first time, the Colorado truck will offer a sunroof.

One of the main highlights of this vehicle is the standard 11.3-inch central touchscreen, using an updated version of the brand’s user-friendly infotainment software. There are also configurable pages, an off-road-specific display and built-in Google apps for maps, music, and more. Plus, all of these Colorado pickups feature an 8-inch digital gauge cluster.

The touchscreen involves several camera viewing options, with some aiding in hooking up a trailer and towing, which also works in tandem with the brand’s smartphone trailering app. The Z71 and ZR2 have an underbody camera, allowing drivers to see large obstacles.

For driver-assist technologies, the 2022 pickup comes with automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, front pedestrian braking, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and a distance alert.

Optional features amount to a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, rear cross-traffic braking, and blind-spot monitoring, which can be added to every trim level, including the entry-level WT.

Arrive Date

The 2023 Chevy Colorado will be assembled at General Motors’ factory in Wentzville, Missouri. It’s expected to start its production in early 2023, with the automaker saying that it will reveal its final pricing and fuel economy data closer to that time.

The 2023 Chevy Bolt Takes The Cake As The Most Affordable EV

The Affordable Chevy Bolt

The 2023 Chevrolet Bolt will soon serve as the most inexpensive electric vehicle that can be bought in North America.

Recently, the parent company, General Motors (GM) released pricing for the upcoming 2023 model. The entry-level 1LT and better-supplied 2LT models are going for $26,595* and $29,795* respectively, which the company says is a price reduction of $5,900 per model as opposed to last year.

The larger Bolt EUV will get an even bigger cut, (nominally speaking), with $6,300.

The price for the regular Bolt EV model signifies a considerable price cut of 18.5% from a year ago, during a time when everything from components to labor costs are seeing a considerable rise in the country.

GM is even saying that with this large price cut, no features have been taken out or cut out compared to the 2021 model.

“Nothing has been removed,” GM product specialist Shad Balch told the Detroit Free Press. “This reflects our ongoing desire to make sure Bolt EV/EUV is competitive in the marketplace. As we’ve said, affordability has always been a priority for these vehicles.”

Pricing

While pricing for 2023 has not been announced yet, the upcoming Nissan Leaf, which was the most affordable EV offered in the States, has a starting price of $27,400, (plus destination fee). If you’re not including the federal tax credit of $7,500 that Nissan still accounts for, but GM doesn’t, the 2023 Bolt EV is the more affordable car in the States.

Technically speaking, the Bolt EV is the cheapest electric model in America when it goes on sale next year, not considering the federal tax credit (bringing the Nissan Leaf down to a considerable $19,900). The troubling news for Nissan is that its cumulative total U.S. sales for the Lead model are close to 175,000 units, and when it reaches 200,000, the threshold for the federal tax credit will be cut in half.

Another disadvantage for the Nissan Leaf is that it only has 149 miles of range (according to the EPA), whilst the cheapest Bolt EV has a brand-estimated 259 miles. Buyers would need to upgrade to the Nissan Leaf S Plus in order to even reach 226 miles of EPA-rated range, but that model has a starting price of $32,400, (plus destination fee).

The main idea here is that the company is making many moves to bring an affordable, mass-market EV option with a suitable electric range to the average consumer who wants to transition to an electric model. This is part of the market with a slew of options, with the Nissan Leaf S Plus acting as its only competitor. Alternatively, Fisker (FSR) may seem promising for its electric Ocean EV, which will start below $40,000, (plus destination fee) when it makes its way sometime in 2023.

If the White House ends up hitting its goal for the U.S. to achieve its sales of fully electric cars by 2030, North American buyers will need several more affordable electrified options.

2023 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Set To Receive GM’s Super Cruise…Sort Of

The 2023 Chevrolet and Suburban have become the latest vehicles of General Motors to offer the brand’s Super Cruise hands-free driver-assist technology. However, this is more of an intention rather than a definite reality…

“Due to current supply-chain shortages, certain features—including Super Cruise—have limited and late availability,” a spokesperson wrote in an email to Car and Driver. When asked by car review site, Car and Driver if Chevrolet may eventually need to push the debut of the Super Cruise technology in the Tahoe and Suburban to the 2024 model year, the same spokesperson replied that Chevy is “continuing to monitor chip availability and will make this determination when our business deems appropriate in the model year cycle.”

It seems clear to use that Chevrolet is remaining quite optimistic about its ability to get the necessary amount of semiconductor chips to get the Super Cruise system to the full-sized Tahoe and full-size Suburban SUVs for their 2023 model year. If not, it’s likely that we would have heard an announcement from the company pushing back this information until they got a better grasp on handling this pickle with the semiconductor chips.

On the other hand, some are speculating that there is the possibility that Chevrolet has released this information under the pretense of hoping for the best-case scenario while preparing for the worst. If the worst does indeed happen, and the company is forced to pull Super Cruise from the options sheet of the two big SUVs, then buyers of the 2023 Tahoe and Suburban will have a new car but with very minute changes for that model year. This includes three new exterior hues added to the two vehicle’s color options (Silver Sage Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat), and a new accessor grill that does away with the classic bowtie badge, which will be available on LS, LT, RST, and Premier trims.

Having said that, if Chevrolet is successful, in fact, successful at implementing the Super Cruise on the 2023 Tahoe and Suburban, then buyers of these SUVs should expect to spend a pretty penny…but money well spent, on the Level 2 driver-assist system, especially since it’s only meant for the high-ranking Premier and High Country trims.

In the meantime, here are some other features to expect. The 2023 Tahoe can be expected to be filled with comfort features and conveniences such as a 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, onboard Wi-Fi, voice commands, and an incredible amount of 8 USB ports.

The 2023 Suburban can be expected to have just as many on-board features, along with a longer wheelbase, extra cargo room, and additional space for long-legged occupants to stretch while sitting in second or third-row seats.

The Chevy Trax Is Coming Back For More In 2023

Attention all SUV and compact lovers! A new generation of the Chevrolet Trax crossover is coming our way! Its more luxurious counterpart, the Buick Encore, shares the same platform and has similar mechanisms, but unfortunately, it’s getting the boot. Despite this, the Trax model is here to stay.

A spokesperson of the automaker told Roadshow that it “will reveal an all-new Trax later this year.” Meanwhile, the current Trax will end production late this year. The assembly of the next generation of this model will initiate in the first half of 2023.

Last year, the car company moved 42,590 examples of the Trax. This is a decrease of 59.9 percent from the Trax’s 106,299 deliveries in 2020. During the initial quarter of 2022, the subcompact’s volume was 5,801 units, which was a drop of 65.8 from the 16,955 vehicles in Q1 2021.

A report in March claimed that the Buick Encore was set to discontinue after its 2022 model year, and this claim turned out to be true.

As of yet, the Buick has sold much worse than the Trax, as the manufacturer delivered 20,072 Encores in 2021, which is a 51.9 percent drop from 2020. Then for the first quarter of 2022, Buick moved 2,620 Encores, amounting to a 57.9 percent drop from the same period in the previous year.

Chevrolet then updated the Trax SUV for its 2021 model year by bringing in a more advanced 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, with an output of 153 horsepower (114 kilowatts) and 177 lb-ft (240 Newton-meters) of torque. The preceding 1.4-L had an output of 138 hp (103 kW) and 148 lb-ft (201 Nm). The changes encompassed the implementation of direct fuel injection, as opposed to port injections.

The Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore were closely matched to the European Opel Mokka crossover. Seeing how the Opel is now a part of the Stellantis bundle of brands, the latest Mokka vehicle has no relation to the previous version.

Furthermore, this European competitor is also available as an electric vehicle. The Mokka has a powertrain that amounts to 136 hp (100 kW) and 192 lb-ft (260 Nm) of torque. A 50-kilowatt-hour battery provides 200 miles (322 kilometers) of range, with the top speed coming at 93 miles per hour (150 kilometers per hour).
