Chevy’s 2024 Silverado EV Is In High Demand

100,000 Reserved The Electric Silverado

The Chevrolet company recently unveiled its first-ever electric pickup truck, and it’s safe to say that its reception was well received, with at least 110,000 people already signing up to make a purchase.

As many automakers are fighting the good fight in the transition of becoming an electric brand, we imagine that it must be gratifying for any automotive company to receive interest in their new hybrid or fully-electric models.

It is worth mentioning, however, that while Chevy’s numbers show some enticement for the truck, they still have some ways to go before completely replacing the love that Americans have for their gas-powered vehicles. In 2021, the car company sold close to 520,000 non-electric Silverados, reaching right behind the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500.

Another important detail is that a reservation is just that…a reservation. An interested buyer could reserve their right to the truck by paying a fee of $100, and if they change their mind, the payment is refundable. Various details regarding the new Silverado are being kept hush-hush, it’s possible that some may not follow through with their reservation.

More Info On The Silverado EV

The latest Silverado is scheduled to arrive in the spring of next year as a 2024 model. It will also include two trim levels.

The basic work truck (WT) model will have a starting price of $39,000, (plus destination fee). It has a capable output of 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque. The company estimates that it will carry a range close to 400 miles between charges. Towing capacity is also 8,000 lbs, while the payload is at 1,200 lbs.

The second option and last option will be a fully loaded RST model. This sticker price reaches all the way up to $105,000, (plus destination fee), but it includes a boatload of conveniences that make it all worth it. It also increases its speed and strength, with 644 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque. It can also tow up to 10,000 lbs and has a payload of 1,300.

The automaker maker says that more trim levels will be revealed before the arrival date, including an adventurous Trail Boss version, with a price currently unknown.

More Electric Pickups Coming Our Way

The fun doesn’t stop there in the automotive world and their electric pickups, as there are more vehicles in store for us! The Silverado EV will sit on General Motors’ (GM) new Ultium electric vehicle architecture. This unit will contain all of the necessary components and batteries and can be set up to build vehicles of many shapes and sizes.

GM has already made strides in the pickup segment with its Hummer EV. This truck follows the R1T from the startup company, Rivian. When we see the Silverado, those who will have been accompanied by Ford’s F-150 Lightning EV, which has already received an impressive amount of reservations.

GM Says 2023 Chevy Corvette Will Arrive Soon

General Motors (GM) will be opening up the dealer order guide for the 2023 Chevy Corvette in March of 2022. GM will also be cutting production of the 2022 Corvette soon after this. It seems that the automaker wants to phase out older models and reign in new ones. This has always been the course for automakers and these days with the transition toward EVs on the forefront, automakers must keep their consumers happy, even as they plan new models like the Silverado EV. Fans of the luxury sports car can rejoice however as the new Corvette will feature a brand new V8 engine. It will also feature some minor cosmetic and option changes. We’ll move along and see what else we can expect from the new Corvette.

2023 Corvette Receives Production Date

General Motors will be starting production of the 2023 Corvette on May 9th, 2022. The luxury sports car will see its dealer order guide become available shortly before that, March 21st, 2022. This information comes from the Corvette Action Center site. According to the site, key dates and information about the 2023 Corvette were sent to various Chevy dealers from GM. With the information making the rounds, consumers and fans alike are excited for a new iteration of the iconic corvette.

Consumers can expect to see the 2023 Chevy Corvette become available around March of 2022. The dealer order guide will become available on March 21st and dealers will be able to place orders three days later on March 24th. The online configurator will also be made available. Later on March 31st, dealers will be able to pair their orders with Corvette allocations. Sometime after this in May, the 2022 Corvette will cease production. Though the 2022 Corvette will have spent just 8 months in production, it’s clear GM is making room to bring the better and badder 2023 Corvette out to consumers. As mentioned, it is expected to come equipped with a more powerful V8 engine as well as some cosmetic changes.

Consumers can expect to see the 2023 Chevy Corvette available for purchase in the Spring of 2022. Although the 2022 Corvette will see the end of its production, those looking forward to the 2023 version will be more than happy to know they’re getting a more powerful and improved Corvette. It’s not certain whether GM will increase the price of the 2023 Corvette, but we can expect to see a starting MSRP of around $60,000 (plus destination fee). We’ll be staying tuned for more information.

The Latest Scoop On The 2022 Chevrolet Blazer

2024 Chevy Blazer EV

The Chevrolet Blazer crossover is one of the most attractive SUVs in its segment, and perhaps in the car industry. The reason is likely that it borrows design elements from its cousin, the Camaro sports car. While it doesn’t embody the same rugged formation as the original, that hasn’t affected its ability to seduce new buyers.

For all that, there are some that wonder whether the current model will mirror the same impact with its electric version. General Motors Chair and CEO, Mary Bara, revealed at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) that the Blazer’s internal combustion engine would soon retire, and in its place would be an electric powertrain for the 2024 model year, the same ringing true for the Equinox model.

While the company didn’t show any teaser images for the upcoming electric midsize SUV, it did however give us a sneak peek of the Equinox EV. In fact, car site, CarBuzz, used the Equinox teaser images to serve as inspiration for what they think the 2024 Blazer might look like.

They added on charming design elements such as a full-width LED light bar with headlight clusters that fence off the core unique design piece. They also incorporated a ridged grille panel, a two-toned roof, and large wheels. Then, they added an adaptive version of the Equinox EV’s lighting grille, which joins each side of the vehicle at the same time a roof spoiler and roof rails are also included. There are even ultra-modern flush door handles that also correspond with the Chevrolet design style.

Overall, there is an expectation that the automaker won’t veer off from its usual design cues for the upcoming Blazer. Rather, it’s probable that Chevrolet will take on their traditional styling elements while maintaining the feel of the current SUV design.

One should expect to see the sustainable 2024 Chevrolet Blazer in the spring of 2023 to complement other chargeable offerings like the Silverado EV. When General Motors revealed its new replacement for the Blazer at this year’s CES, they only divulged the expected reveal date and that it would be derived from the company’s Ultium platform.

Seeing that the tri-motor configuration supporting the GMC Hummer EV is currently only made for large vehicles, we’re guessing that the Blazer will inhabit single- and dual-motor options, with the second possibly offering an output of over 580 horsepower.

Several trims will also be offered, with one of them likely being an RS model, with some crossing their fingers that it will have more power and handling than other Chevy models, rather than just good looks. Regarding the base-level trim, it’s likely that it will be priced around $35,000, (plus destination fee), as the company is aiming to make electrics more affordable.

Newly Unveiled Chevy Silverado EV Sells Out Almost Immediately

Chevrolet recently unveiled its first electric vehicle, the Silverado EV. The all-new all-electric pickup had a stunning debut given the hype and excitement surrounding Chevy’s first EV pickup. The EV pickup was revealed at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). There, fans and consumers got to get a firsthand look at Chevrolet’s Silverado EV. Chevy stated that there would be several trim levels coming, but for now, the Silverado EV launches as the RST First Edition. The price is a bit steep, but given the listed features and capabilities, the Silverado EV will easily compete with others like the F-150 Lightning. Many others seem to believe this as well given that the pickup sold out according to General Motor’s CEO Mary Barra. We’ll dive in further, but this is great news for Chevrolet.

Silverado EV Sold Out?

Chevrolet recently unveiled their all-new all-electric Silverado EV. The electric pickup was well received at the 2022 CES show. It was even more well-received when it opened for reservations. According to the GM CEO Mary Barra, the Silverado EV RST First Edition sold out almost immediately. Now, we’re not one to really cast doubt or suspicion, but one detail missing from the aforementioned statement is just how many First Edition pickups were made available. A common issue with reservation orders is that there are several details that can inflate the end number. One of these is the initial deposit needed to reserve the vehicle. Another is the fact that some consumers may cancel their reservations ahead of time. For the Silverado EV, many buyers only needed to put down $100 to make their reservation.

The Silverado EV RST First Edition starts at a hefty MSRP, $105,000 (plus destination fee). Chevrolet has yet to state exactly how many Silverado EVs it plans to build, but if the automaker is facing supply issues due to the global chip shortage, this number may be on the lower side. Regardless, the electric pickup looks fantastic. Chevrolet released a list of features and details so consumers can know what to expect. All Silverado EV trims will feature standard DC fast charging at up to 350 kWh.

The Silverado EV is expected to arrive in the fall of 2023. General Motors has confirmed that the RST trim will have 400 miles of range. Along with an exceptional mile range, the EV pickup will feature automatic adaptive air suspension, four-wheel steering, a multi-flex tailgate, and a 17-in LCD. The Silverado EV will be capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds with 1,300 pounds of payload. The RST trim will feature an optional wide open watts mode which can deliver 664 horsepower and 780lb-ft of torque. It’s clear Chevy did their best to equip the Silverado EV with the most powerful equipment and features. We’ll have to wait for more details, but according to Chevy, there will be other trims available some time in 2024 including a Work Truck trim that will start at $39,900 (plus destination fee).

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse Receives Rave Reviews From Consumer Reports

Consumer Reports Pick Their Best Vehicles

The Chevrolet company has introduced a mid-cycle advancement for its 2022 Traverse SUV (also dubbed a refresh). This full-sized 4-door crossover utility vehicle (CUV), comes with a slew of enhancements and changes. Recently, the review site, Consumer Reports named the 2022 Chevy Traverse mid-sizer as a top performer in the establishment’s road tests.

Road tests from Consumer Reports involve over 50 individual evaluations, with the concluding road test score baked into the car’s Overall Score. Each car that goes through a road test from Consumer Reports receives a score out of 100 possible points, specifically with a higher score that indicates a greater performance.

Regarding the 2022 Chevy Traverse, it received a road test score ranking it 95 out of 100, making it stand between Kia’s Telluride model (97 points) and Porshe’s 718 Boxster (95 points) with reference to Consumer Reports’ best road test results. BMW was able to reach the top of the list for its 7 Series model, specifically with 99 points. Remarkably, the C8 Corvette came in third with 97 points.

The 2022 Traverse SUV was also given by Consumer’s a score ranking it four out of five, which regarded its acceleration performance, as well as four out of five in reference to the performance on its transmission and five out of five for braking. Emergency Handling was also ranked three out of five.

Even more so, Consumer Reports was quite captivated by just how comfortable this year’s Chevy Traverse is. It also regarded its tranquil interior, user-friendly infotainment, and rear seat reminder system. On the flip side, it did critique the car’s allocation of progressive safety features to the higher trims, the absence of extra support adjustments for the driver seat, and the manual sunshade for the available sunroof.

In case you forgot, the nameplate for the Chevrolet Traverse was originally supposed to get a mid-cycle improvement for the previous model year, however, due to issues relating to the coronavirus pandemic, the model pushed back its refresh for the 2022 model year.

Looking beneath the hood, the newest Chevrolet Traverse comes with a naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine. It’s rated at 310 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 266 pound-feet of torque at 2,800 rpm, also connected to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, this car can be had with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. Regarding its body, the Traverse crossover fits in with the parent company, General Motors (GM) C1 platform. Production of this car is located at GM’s Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

All-New Chevy Silverado Special Edition Trims Arriving in 2022

Chevrolet, like many other automakers, has been focusing on electric vehicles as of late. The automaker recently stated that the all-new all-electric Silverado EV will be entering production in early 2023. This is great news for Chevy as competitors like Ford and Tesla have been trying to steadily increase their grasp on the new EV sector. Chevrolet has not been fazed, however. The automaker has been focused on increasing interest in the Silverado EV with teaser pics and high power specifications. This doesn’t mean that Chevy has forgotten about the gasoline 2022 Chevy Silverado, however. In fact, the automaker will be offering consumers a series of special edition trims for the 2022 Silverado. Some of these special edition trims will need to be customized and built on the Chevy website, but others within the selection can be ordered as is. We’ll dive in and check some of them out.

Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss: Realtree Edition

One of the first special edition Silverados is the Realtree Trim. Chevy highlights this trim as one ready for adventure. The pickup features camo-themed graphics on the hood and rear fender. Another Silverado trim is the Redline. This trim features black and red accents on the front and rear bumpers. Chevy classifies it as a ‘Sportier Way to Silverado.’ The Redline trim comes equipped with gloss black door handles, a black grille, and 20-inch black aluminum wheels.

The Silverado Redline trim also features black tube steps and black rectangular exhaust tips. Some additional design elements include red recovery hooks on the front bumper and red detailing on the rearview mirror, fender, and tailgate. There’s also a cold air intake kit and performance exhaust.

The Rally Silverado trim offers consumers either a 2.7L Turbo engine, a 5.3L, or a 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine. The pickup comes with gloss black aluminum wheels and a black rally stripe on the hood and tailgate.

Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD: Carhartt Edition

The Carhartt Silverado trim is dubbed the ‘Official Uniform for Tough Jobs.’ This pickup features Carhartt details on the doors, truck tubs, tailgate, exterior pinstripe, soft tonneau cover, headrests, and floor liners. The Carhartt trim comes in a Mosaic Black Metal hue with matching body-color bumpers. Owners can opt for an off-road suburban Z71 package that features dual Rancho tubes and four-inch assist steps.

Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD: Z71 HD Sport Edition

For the Z71 HD Sport trim, Chevy leans into black badging, hood vents, skid plates, door handles, mirror caps, and four-inch steps. There are also gloss black aluminum wheels that can be equipped with either 18-inch M/T tires or 20-inch A/T tires.

Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD: Chrome Sport Edition

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Reconceives What A Pickup Could Be

Last week, Wednesday (January 5th), the Chevrolet company introduced their fully electric 2024 Silverado pickup truck, leaving many fans astounded with just how many changes this new model received from the inside-out. New offerings of this vehicle include:

  • An estimated range of 400-miles on a full charge for the Work Truck (WT) and RST.
  • Up to 664 horsepower with over 780 lb-ft of torque from the optional Wide Open Watts Mode on RST, allowing an estimated 0-60 mph time of fewer than 4.5 seconds.
  • Standard DC fast charging (reaching 350kW) on Work Truck and RST.
  • A max of 10.2kW of offboarding power on Work Truck and RST with optional gear.
  • Fit to 10,000 lbs of maximum trailering with up to 1,300 pounds of payload on RST.
  • Parent company, General Motors (GM) advanced Ultium EV Platform, the Silverado EV offers an incredible progressive combination of aptitude, performance and versatility, as well as advanced technologies that can develop the vehicle over time.

“Chevrolet has constantly revolutionized the Silverado franchise to make it the powerhouse it is today,” said Steve Hill, vice president of Chevrolet. “The Ultium Platform is a critical enabler of next-level pickup truck performance for both fleet and retail customers, whether they are currently driving a Silverado or are considering a pickup for the first time.”

Interested buyers should expect during the launch that the newest Silverado will be available in two configurations, such as the RST First Edition and a fleet-centered WT model. Each will have an extensive bundle of standard and optional safety features.

Charging Capabilities

The RST and WT have public DC fast charging capabilities maxing at 350kW allowing about 100 miles of range to be tacked on in 10 minutes, according to GM estimates. Additionally, after combining the optional accessory power bar, the 2024 Silverado’s PowerBase charging system has up to 10 outlets, proving a total of 10.2kW of fully electric power.

Performance and Efficiency

Clearly, the Silverado EV RST and WT models were designed which much thought and with an acute attention to detail, specifically when it comes to the overall functionality.

“We had no constraints when it came to designing the Silverado EV with dramatic style and flexible utility because we didn’t need to work around a traditional propulsion system,” said Phil Zak, executive director of Chevrolet Design. “The Ultium Platform allowed us to redefine what it means to offer expansive new storage and utility possibilities.”

The construction of the exterior from its proportions to its surfacing fully embodies the Silverado’s knack for providing power and overall athleticism. On the front end, the truck has been shaped to masterfully direct air down the side of the body, considerably reducing drag and turbulence. For this reason, this WT is estimated to have one of the lowerest drag coefficients of any available production model, specifically in the full-size pickup category. This helps in enabling the impressive range.

In terms of space, Chevrolet has implemented an eTrunk, which is a lockable compartment located in front of the vehicle, that provides enough space for a multitude of personal items, big or small.

Owing to the Multi-Flex Midgate on the RST, the 5-ft and 11-inch bed of storage capacity is maximized. This is because the Multi-Flex provides a little over 9 feet of storage between the cab and the tailgate when the Midgate is open.

There are also four configurations available from the 40/60 second-row seat, which enables owners to haul equipment while still making room for a passenger in the back row. In addition to the RST’s optional Multi-Flex Tailgate, this model allows up to 10 ft and 10 inches of load floor and storage capability. Additionally, there is an available tonneau cover that allows large items to be loaded into a storage compartment that is fully lockable and weatherproof.

When To Expect Chevy’s New Pickup

The 2024 Silverado EV is expected to debut by the spring of 2023 for the WT model, while the RST is expected to arrive in the fall of that year. When that time comes, be sure to make your purchase at Miami Lakes Automall. We carry a wide range of vehicles from the Chevrolet brand in a variety of different styles and prices.

Those who are interested in any of our vehicles can simply view our online new car inventory and chat with a representative for further assistance.

2022 Chevrolet Suburban Receives Changes

The 2022 Chevrolet Suburban will be receiving several new changes and updates for the 2022 model year. Chevrolet has been steadily ramping up its vehicles for the new year with the latest driver-assist and safety features. Chevrolet is hoping to keep consumers happy despite the ongoing chip shortage which has led to increased MSRPs all around. Thankfully, Chevy has been able to navigate and maneuver around the shortage and still provide the best-equipped vehicles. Chevy plans to build heavy-duty Suburban models for the United States Army, so it makes sense that the automaker is ensuring the latest technology and features make it through. We’ll dive in and see what Chevy has in store for 2022, but given their track record, it’s set to be some exciting features.

Chevrolet Updates 2022 Suburban

The 2022 Chevy Suburban serves as the 12th generation family-sized SUV. For the 2022 model year, Chevrolet will be making several changes and updates both inside and outside the Suburban. For its exterior, the 2022 Suburban will see the deletion of two colors and the addition of three new hues. Inside the large SUV, Chevrolet will be adding some new safety features as well as improving the infotainment system. There will also be some new package features such as an electronic limited-slip differential for the off-road package. For engine choices, Chevrolet will offer a 5.3L V8 capable of 355 horsepower and 383lb-ft of torque. There will also be a 6.2L V8 capable of 420 horsepower and 460lb-ft and a 3.0L Duramax diesel engine that’s capable of 277 horsepower and 460lb-ft of torque.

The 2022 Chevy Suburban will see the addition of several features. One of these includes rear park assist which was previously standard on all trims except for the Premier and High Country. Chevrolet will be replacing the feature with front and rear park assist and it will come standard on all trim levels. Reverse automatic braking will now be available on the Premier and High Country trims.

Inside the 2022 Chevy Suburban, consumers will note a new 10.2-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium screen system. There’s also a revision to the transmission. Now there’s a new 10-speed automatic transmission that can be equipped with either V8 engine. The 2022 Suburban will also see GM’s new electronic limited-slip differential as an exclusive feature for Z71 trims equipped with the Off-Road Capability Package. This package will also include some driver-assist features like magnetic ride control and air ride adaptive suspension.

Chevy Against Chevy! The 2022 Silverado vs. The 2022 Colorado

The Chevrolet company is known for its ability to produce affordable and stylish vehicles, especially when regarding its SUVs and trucks. Two of its most popular models are the Silverado and the Colorado pickups. The foremost is the largest of the two, serving as a full-sized pickup as opposed to the Colorado’s mid-size frame.

There are also many advantages that these two Chevy trucks have over the other, especially for the 2022 model year. Let’s explore a bit more about what makes them similar and what makes them different.

2022 Chevrolet Silverado

The 2022  Chevrolet Silverado is new and improved, bringing along with it a refreshed exterior and interior style. The pickup can be personalized with regular, double, and crew cab layouts. There are also options for cargo boxes, specifically: short, standard, and long beds. Choices for powertrains also range from an entry-level 2.7-liter 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, and the 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel 6-cylinder engine, which all come with a 10-speed automatic.

The diesel engine shows that it’s one bad mother with its towing capabilities, as its injection of power makes it possible to tug up to 13,000 lbs. On top of this, the powertrain can be had with either rear- or four-wheel-drive.

If you’re looking for a little more adventure, shoppers can opt for the new off-roading ZR2 trim. Upgrades on this model encompass shocks from Multimatic, front and rear locking differentials, and augmented bumpers and skid plates. This ZR2 version also uses 33-inch all-terrain tires.

Another thing that distinguishes the Silverado apart from its siblings is the availability of parent company’s, General Motors’ (GM) Super Cruise system, a semi-autonomous driving system, which specifically has been tuned to work while towing on the Silverado. It is worth noting, however, that this feature will on be available on the top-ranking High Country model.

2022 Chevrolet Colorado

The mid-size 2022 Colorado may be a bit smaller but only expands in terms of its features. Starting with its excellent list of powertrains, two cab configurations, and cargo boxes. This truck also has the best towing in its class, with 7,700 lbs, which is achieved when it’s matched with the 2.8-liter Duramax Diesel engine. Rounding off the gasoline offerings are the 2.0-liter inline-4 and a 3.6-liter V6, which also have two- and four-wheel drive systems.

The Colorado also has an off-roading pickup of its own, the Z71. This model comes with an automatic locking rear differential, an off-road suspension, hill descent control, and all-terrain tires. The new Trailboss Package is also an option for 4WD versions of the LT and Z71 models. Skidplates, an off-road appearance package, along with a front 10-inch leveling kit come with the kit, of which there is currently a shortage of.

The ZR2 can tackle rough and tough terrain with its locking front differential, high-performance Multimatic shocks, four-wheel drive, off-road front fascia, and a taller and wider stance for elevated off-road capabilities. Interested buyers can also opt for ZR2’s Bison Edition, which was made through the partnership with American Expedition Vehicles. This optional package even furthers the off-road capabilities.

Miami Lakes Chevrolet

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado and 2022 Colorado are both highly competent and adept in their own right, with the former being skilled in providing engine choices, three cab possibilities and three box lengths, towing and payload, while the latter is masterful with providing a highly comfortable ride, a wide choice of engines, great fuel economy and a lower price ($25,000* vs. Silverado’s $32,000*).

The winner is truly up to you and your particular preference in size and the features that you value the most. Regardless of what you choose, when the time comes to make your purchase on your favorite Chevy vehicle, be sure to do it at Miami Lakes Automall. We carry a wide range of vehicles from the brand, including the Silverado and Colorado.
